I would like to thank the Association of Asia Network beyond Design (ANBD) for providing National Taiwan Normal University with the opportunity to host an exhibition which is the main exhibition spot in Taiwan. The Department of Design, College of Art will preserve the association’s tradition by doing its best to present the theme and the spirit of ANBD 2019.

ANBD, an international association cooperatively organized by Japan, South Korea, Mainland China, and Taiwan, has a 11-year history. The main theme of the association is the construction of new design networks beyond Asian areas. Focusing on exhibitions, the association aims to create more reciprocal and meaningful opportunities for designers to interact with each other. The theme of “fusion” is a process of combining two or more things together into form something new. It can also be synonymous to melting, combination, unification, cohesion, amalgamation and so on. In the ANBD exhibition in 2019, various visual expressions are expected to have more influence on the theme of "fusion".

The annual exhibition of ANBD will be held at Seoul (South Korea), Tianjin (Mainland China), Taipei (Taiwan), and Kyoto (Japan) from September to November in 2019. The opening ceremony will be held on November 23th at National Taiwan Normal University. I am pleased to welcome you to this year’s exhibition and sincerely wish it will be a great success.

ANBD started its first exhibition in four Asian regions such as Seoul, Tokyo, Tianjin and Taipei in 2008 and welcomed the 12th exhibition in this year.The theme of ANBD 2019 is “Fusion” and 332 artists from nine regions in Asia (93 creations from Seoul, 92 creations from Tianjin, 36 creations from Tokyo, 23 creations from Taipei, 12 creations from Tainan, 11 creations from Kuala Lumpur, 18 creations from Shaanxi, 24 creations from Colombo, 23 creations from Thailand) submitted their creative artworks. As a result, a total of 1328 creations will be exhibited at the four region’s group exhibitions and the total 385 artists at group exhibitions as well as solo exhibitions will participate. I appreciate all of the artists’ passion. This year's theme is 'Fusion'. It has several kinds of meaning: two or more things mixed together(融解)’, two or more elements combined to create a unified sense(融合, 融通), harmony without conflict(融解), an infinitely continuous state(永久). Until now, we have been seeking change by repeating diversification and convergence in various cultures, arts and designs. Therefore, we will be able to meet a variety of artists' visual expressions on the theme of “Fusion”.ANBD will continue to expand its participating regions to build a new network in the coming year, and will continue to make efforts to establish a cultural identity in Asia that is unique to each region.

Design, art, life, and culture are intimately linked with each other. Along with the arrival of the digital era and the rapid expansion of information, simple design considerations can no longer fulfill public’s sensory needs; over the past decades, designers are gradually becoming a job role that fuses domain knowledge and skills from multiple fields. Therefore, interdisciplinary design becomes the tendency of the current design industry.

Association of Asia Network Beyond Design (ANBD) is an international communication association sets Asia as its origin. It commits to exceeding the limits of race, culture, and region by co-working and communicating with like-minded artists from different places to structure a new design network. Since 2007, ANBD has been expanding culture values by fusing unique features of different regions based on interdisciplinary thoughts and skills. In the past 11 years, ANBD tempts to surpass all art and design sects and has already made great achievement due to our members’ great effort. Hence, we will take the challenge of combining different culture elements outside of Asia from now on. The upcoming 11th ANBD Exhibition in 2019 will use “Fusion” as its theme, and exhibit in Kyoto, Seoul, Tianjin and Taipei cities.

Please look forward to our fusion and changing in art, culture and economy for the purpose of optimizing. On the stage of ANBD, “Fusion” will have great impact to the public through all media.

2019 ANBDExamination Review

本次展览的主题是“融”。在亚洲文化的共同背景下，“融”可以有多方面的含义，艺术

家们如何对主题阐释，是评审的一个重要标准，应该既符合主题的内涵又具有独到的见

解。另一评审的重要标准是视觉表达。参展作品的形式多样，主要考虑各种视觉语言的灵

活运用，以及作品是否具有很强的视觉张力，并符合当代设计的语境。

本次參展者提出之作品，不僅遵守參展規則，也保有個人創作的風格，並符合本次之主題-

“融”。作品樣貌呈現各種思維，表現意涵也比以往更為深入，讓身為評審的我，必須花

更多時間，反覆閱讀所有的作品，才能決定優秀作品名單，以達到總部對審查的嚴謹要

求。相信所有參與者的努力，能讓ANBD以單純的藝術與設計進行文化交流的精神和目的

得以完滿成功。

要从一千三百多幅的创意作品中选出优秀的二十幅作品,的确需点耐心. 来回浏览了数遍作

品,比较思考;我认为大部份作品都能根据主题的要素来表达视觉上的创意! 部份作品更具

备了丰富的亚洲人文内容的表扬. 这是另一项学术进步的提升与认可. 再次祝贺大家,一起为

創作應要有純粹與追求，不論作品的主題是什麼，最終的指向還是傾向一種內在的尋求。

ANBD2019的作品主題是“Fusion”，它可以理解為融化、和諧、和解、融合、融通和永恆

等含義；而且在文化、經濟等各個方面，都能夠透過多元化和反複的融合來實現變革。整

體而言，今年參賽作品的創作主題及媒材更多元豐富，構圖和創意也有長足的進步。希望

未來能夠不斷地打破表現的方法及形式，重新思考視覺設計中創意美學之極限。

從今年參加的作品中不難發現，部分作品運用的技巧有相當程度的相似度，部分作品則離

題較遠，部分作者還是維持一貫的系列感，也都各具特色。

幅作品，我欣喜地看到各国、各地方的设计师们对应主题的要求，结合自己对主题与设计

的理解在内容与形式上做了多元的探索与创新，作品呈现出了鲜明的特色，这是与以往评

审我感受最深的一点，体现出了来自亚洲不同地区的设计家们的创新与探索的精神，同时

根據這次ANBD2019訂定出的“Fusion”主題，在眾多參賽作品中通過審查的創作，皆展現

出了傳遞多樣性的文化面向，以及企圖以傳統溝通未來可能的表現，包括以「文字詞彙」

作為彼此共同語言而展開的各種視覺設計，或是把握「文化符碼」的元素特徵來重新轉譯

為不同巧思詮釋，不僅精準呈現“Fusion”主題的特色意涵，也看見諸多參賽者的細膩精彩

之處，對這些作品給予良好的評價。

융합은 21세기 가장 뜨겁게 떠오른 화두 중에 하나이다. 이를 통해 현재를 돌아보고 앞으로 나아갈 방향을

정하는데 우리만의 차별화된 시각은 매우 중요한 요소로 작용할 것이다. 올해 주제인 융합이라는 컨셉을

통해 다양성과 공존, 서로 다름, 양립 등에 대한 재미있는 시각과 시도들이 보여진 작업들을 기준으로 심사

하였다. 이는 앞으로도 작업을 함에 있어 서로 다른 생각, 환경, 물성 등에 대한 끊임없는 연구와 다양한 시

도를 가능하게 하는 힘이 될 것이다. 서로 다름을 인정하고 소통하며 끊임없이 배우는 자세로 초심을 잃지

審査にあたっては「融」というテーマを鑑みながら、独創性、造形的に優れている作品

を幅広く選出し、次に最初の印象が強いもの、見直して心に残ったものを中心に、私の

主観と好みで選出させて頂いた。作家の丁寧な仕事が伝わるものは印象が良かった。

In this year, I’m very pleased to be a member of jury for the ANBD-2019 Excellent Awards. There were over 1300

creations. I was so happy to see that Asian creators used vivid design technique to make many works and are making

progress in their own style. I was really impressed on selecting creations which I marked on the excel sheet as

the winning creations. Those creations have been selected for the ANBD Excellent Awards. The selected creations

compared to all other creations I have reviewed, they were all about the quality and theme, which were huge

accomplishments. The artists of the selected creations put great effort on creating mixed techniques for different

styles. The minimal colored drawings and the slow-paced experimental dynamic contents lulls us into a sense of

fusion. Image blending and experimental skills were impressive. It also leaves us feeling positive about Asian creators.

Because we want to see more creations from beyond the design, and I would like to congratulate all award winning cre

2019ANBD作品展有來自亞洲地區的九個分會共襄盛舉，在參與評審過程中仔細品味參展的

所有作品，創作者分別透過視覺藝術、海報設計、廣告設計、攝影、影像處理、服裝、產

品與空間等等表現方式，針對時間、空間、文化等議題來詮釋共同主題「Fusion融」，作品

內容呈現文化的多元性與形式的多樣性，琳瑯滿目至為精彩，證明ANBD做為亞洲區域文

化藝術設計交流的平台，經過十年來積極的努力也在此看見成果。

纵观今年的所有作品，百分之九十的作品都能够围绕着主题“融”进行创意设计，作品充

分体现出作者所在国家的地域文化特色和生活状态，从各自不同的视角挖掘亚洲文化中

“融”的文化元素，展现出不同的精神面貌，具有一定的现实意义和时代特征，对促进亚

洲国家之间的相互了解和相互沟通起到了积极的作用。作品中韩国提交的作品在设计语言

的创新方面表现比较突出。


우수 작품으로 선정한 작품들은 주제의 해석과 기법의 통일성, 높은 표현감각들이 겸비되어 우수한 평가를

받았다. 융합이라는 주제는 다양하게 이해될 수 있는데 주제의 융합, 기법 및 표현의 융합 모두를 포괄하여

심사에 반영하였다.

올해 ANBD 2019 전시는 상임이사지역 9개 지역에서 332점(서울93점, 텐진92점, 동경36점, 타이페이

23점, 타이난12점, 쿠알라룸푸르11점, 산시18점, 콜롬보24, 태국23의 총 1328점의 심사를 하게 되었

습니다. 예전의 4개국 전시에서 확장되어 많은 나라와 지역에서 출품된 점을 뜻깊게 생각합니다.

심사기준은 ANBD 정신에 입각하여 지역과 경계를 넘어 올해의 주제인 ‘융합(Fusion)'을 작가의 참신하고

독창적인 표현방법으로 작업을 한 20점을 선별하였습니다.

앞으로 더 많은 국가와 작가가 참여하는 진정한 디자인의 장이 되길 바랍니다.
