ISR:
Social responsibility is an ethical theory, in which individuals are accountable for fulfilling
their civic duty; the actions of an individual must benefit the whole of society. If this equilibrium is
maintained, then social responsibility is accomplished.
Our institution is situated in the rural background away from the bustle of the Coimbatore
city. Rural children, many first generations to be educated with poor financial background form the
majority of the strength of our institution. Therefore, it is our social responsibility to uplift the
Pioneer College of Arts and Science AQAR 2017-2018

quality of life of these children and make them responsible citizens of tomorrow. We identified the
following issues and took up the moral responsibility of solving those issues largely. Financial
crunch, lack of enough knowledge and information, cultural ethics and moral values, extending
service to the old age homes, local schools and preserving pollution free environment were looked
into in our best practices.
Financial support arranged by the Institution
Our Management with the aim of helping the needy students for their education contributed
an amount of Rs.1,44,400 and arranged scholarships from other sources amounting to Rs.2,75,750
Govt Scholarship of amount Rs.8,31,380 was also arranged.
Support extended to local schools
In various categories, help is extended to school children to build the right atmosphere for
learning – from food to infrastructure.
