Today, we have gathered here to celebrate 40th Foundation day of our NGO Mahavir International Delhi. We have completed 39 glorious & fulfilling years and are entering into 40th year. Looking behind on our achievements, it gives us immense satisfaction, to be able to bring smiles on the gloomy faces of a large populace of disadvantaged section of society. The year just

concluded on 31st March 2018 has also been eventful as always.The renovation of our Rajdhani Charitable Eye Hospital at Qutab Road, Nabi Karim area

has already been completed. During the year EYE RETINA UNIT was launched in the month of March at the gracious hands of Shri S.B.K. Singh, IPS, Special Commissioner, Delhi Police (presently DG Police, Arunachal Pradesh) with the gracious support of ONGC, Indraprastha Gas Limited, Bank of India and Fluor Daniel India Pvt. Ltd. Retina unit will provide glaucoma and retina related treatment to the poorest of the poor. We are sure that this renovated hospital with strenghthened infrastructure shall be a landmark hospital in the area and a step forward in achieving our objective of service to the society.

Now, I present the performance of Delhi centre during the year 2017-18:

In addition to above a sum of Rs. 109 lacs have been spent during the year on hospital equipments and vehicles sponsored by ONGC, IGL, BANK OF INDIA, FLUOR DANIEL, RAJDHANI BESAN GROUP etc., showing their philanthropic gesture under Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.

During the year we have signed Memorandum of Understanding with PSUs like CONCOR LIMITED, National Backward Classes Financial Development Corporation, National Safai Karamcharis Fiancial Development Corporation, CONCOR Air Limited for organising health

Check-up camps under Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. Other corporate Houses and individuals like Rajdhani Besan Group, Fluor Daniel, Safexpress, Vibes Health Care Ltd., Sh. Raj & Smt. Vandana Jain of USA are regular sponsors of the camps. This year again CONCOR topped the list in camp sponsorship with 77 camps. CWC sponsored 19 camps, NSKFDC sponsored 13, NBCFDC-12, Rajdhani Besan Group-48, FLUOR Daniel-30, Vibes Health Care Ltd.-11, Sh. Raj and Smt. Vandana Jain (USA)-12 and so on.

I thank all the donors, sponsors and philanthropists for their continued patronage.We have organised 268 camps during the year out of which 162 camps were

organised in Delhi-NCR and remaining 106 camps were organised outstation. We have been organising out station camps at Alwar, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Ankleshwar, Gandhidham, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Chennai, Vizag, Hyderabad, Ludhiana, Indore, Ratlam, Satna, Rae Bareily, Moradabad, Mathura, Agra, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Firozpur, Bareilly, Khurja and Aligarh etc. with the support of local centres of Mahavir International and other local philanthropists. With the unstinted & unconditional continuous, dedicated and active support of local centres of MI, we have been able to do this herculin task with ease and maintaining high level of quality. I express my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the entire team of local centres from the bottom of my heart.

During the year under review, we celebrated our Foundation Day on 9th July 2017, by staging a lively show “Bollywood Hungama”–The Golden Era of Two Colors- Black & White by Nische Entertainment, Pune and Eye Care Day on 18th March, 2018 by staging live performance by legendary singer KAILASH KHER & KAILASA.

We also organised a get together on 18th November, 2017 to felicitate Shri Satya Pal Singh- IPS (Retired), Minister of State for Human Resource Development (Higher Education).

Two Board Meetings were held during the year. Annual General Meeting of members of the Center was held on 9th July 2017. An

Extra Ordinary General Meeting of Members of MID was also held on 4th March 2018 to approve the extension of the term of present Chairman and Board of Directors for one more year to make the term of Board- coterminus with that of MI Apex.

Your center participitated in the Zonal Conference of Mahavir International, North Zone-I organised by Faridabad Centre of Mahavir International organised on 11th March 2018. I am happy to share that Delhi Centre was conferred with following awards:

1. Best Centre Chairman to our worthy Chairman Shri Ranjan Kumar Jain2. Best Centre , and3. Appreciation Award for attaining MI goals & ObjectivesI express my thanks and gratitude from the bottom of my heart to the Chairman, my

collegues and other Board members for their continuous guidance and support in fulfilling my responsibilities as secretary.

I also thank the team of more than 120 Doctors, medical & para-medical staff, administrative staff and associated agencies and suppliers who have been working tirelessly in achieving our mission "LOVE ALL- SERVE ALL" and "CATARACT FREE DELHI" and hope that their support will continue to be forthcoming in the years to come.

OBJECTIVES OF MAHAVIR INTERNATONAL

HOSPITALS OF MAHAVIR INTERNATONAL

1. To provide Medical services to the poor & weaker section of the society with special emphasis on “Eye Care” irrespective of cast, creed and religion.

2. The Mission is to make Delhi “Cataract Free Zone”.

3. To provide Medical Facilities to Economically Weaker and Downtrodden people living in Jhugghi Jhopri Colonies in Delhi through our ambitious project “Doctor at Door Step”.

4. To promote the doctrine of Truth and Non- Violence, Love, Brotherhood and Fellowship amongst different sections of the community.

5. To promote Education among the people in the field of Health Care.

6. To support the victims of natural calamities by providing basic requirements to the affected people viz, Earth Quake , Cyclone etc.

Mahavir International, Delhi centre is providing medical services in different disciplines with special emphasis on “Eye Care” to economically weaker section of the society living in Jhugghi Jhopri colonies of Delhi through six hospitals viz.

lIn addition to this we have Six mobile medical vans well equipped with modern instruments

for treatment of patients at their doorstep and one Maruti EECO in the service of patients for providing them free pick up and drop facilities.

lThree hospitals out of the Six Hospitals are having state of art operation theaters for cataract surgeries well equipped with OCT Unit of Ratina and other instruments for conducting cataract operations.

lOne hospital was 1.5 Tesla Whole body MRI and CT scan facility.

lWe are organizing 25 to 28 free Mega health/ Eye check up camps every month in different areas of Delhi-NCR & Outstation. The patients of cataract detected in camps are provided free pick up and drop facility to bring them to our hospitals for free cataract surgeries. The patients of cataract detected in hospitals/dispensary are also operated free of charge.

More than patients are provided free medical services every month with the help of above infrastructure.

1. Assist Govt. of NCT of Delhi in various health oriented program viz. , “Motia Bind Mukti Abhiyan”, etc.

2. To support the victims of natural calamities by providing basic requirements to the affected people viz, Earth Quake etc.

3. Celebrations of Eye Care Day & Founder's Day every year for creating awareness of eye care and collection of funds through donations.

4. Create awareness among the people to pledge their eyes for donation after death with Mahavir International.

5. To motivate the kith and kin of deceased persons to get the eyes of their beloved relatives through Guru Nanak Hospital New Delhi. So far the eyes of more than 209 deceased persons have been donated through us, bringing light in the dark world of nearly 418 blind persons.
