Mapúa Institute of Technology is a private institution for higher learning and is considered as the biggest and premier technological school in the Philippines. It has campuses in Intramuros, Manila, and in Makati City and runs Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL) in Southern Luzon and Malayan High School of Science (MHSS) in Pandacan, Manila. SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships, academic grants, and financial aids are available to academically deserving, creatively gifted, and financially challenged students of Mapúa Institute of Technology. Scholarship grants for undergraduate studies are sponsored by the Mapúa administration, private companies, foundations, alumni associations, government agencies, and other entities. Applicants are screened by the Institute’s Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance.

Combined class and duty hours should not exceed 12 hours per day• Must work for a maximum of 8 hours a day during term breaks and non-class days

YGC Promotional Discount • Incoming freshmen starting Batch 2008• Must pass the MSAE• At least one parent is a regular employee of any YGC company/subsidiary

The following rules shall govern the admission of transfer students:

1. Transfer students may be admitted to a degree program provided that – • they would complete in Mapúa at least sixty percent (60%) of the units required for the degree program • the maximum number of students quota set by the School and the Registrar for the degree program to which admission is sought has not yet been filled up • they have accomplished and submitted the Fraternity Contract (form issued by the Registrar’s Office during enrollment)

2. The admission of transfer students shall be on probationary basis until all courses taken outside Mapúa (i.e. English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Drawing, Physics, and Computer) which are required for the degree program are validated. Validation examinations are to be given one (1) month before the enrollment period, for a fee. Otherwise, he should repeat the courses. Only courses in the basic program may be credited

3. No validation examination should be given to applicants who come from higher educational institution with status of full autonomy (granted by the Commission on Higher Education) provided the course description for the courses to be credited are equivalent to Mapúa’s course description.

B. BACHELOR’S DEGREE HOLDERS FROM OTHER SCHOOLS i. Original Transcript of Records with no failing grade and with a weighted average of at least 2.00 or its equivalent, excluding Religion, PE and NSTP ii. Admission fee iii. Additional requirements after passing the MSAE: • Two recommendation letters from previous school (forms issued by the Admissions Office) • Original certificate of good moral character issued by the college Student Affairs Office (with school seal) • Letter of Intent addressed to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs • Original copy of Honorable Dismissal/Certificate of Transfer Credential • Original or certified true copy of course (subject) descriptions • Original birth certificate printed on National Statistics Office paper • Two (2) identical pictures (plain background), size 1.5” x 1.5” • Photocopy of ACR for foreign nationals

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:1. All applicants with a Bachelor’s Degree from other schools are required to take the Mapúa Scholastic Aptitude Examination for another degree.

2. For transferees, only those applying for Engineering and Sciences programs are subject to take the MSAE for Math.

3. All applicants applying for Architecture, Interior Design and Multimedia Arts and Sciences are required to take the Skills Test as an additional examination.

4. All applicants must submit their Official Results of Basic Medical Laboratory Work-up (CBC, Urinalysis, Chest X-Ray: PA View) from any major hospitals, upon enrollment.
