Thomas Jefferson, PresiÂdent of-the United States, an ardent violin lover and Facsimile Henry Farny Label, himself a violinist of no mean distinction, heard of these wonderful Glier violins, and gave Wilhelm August Glier an order to produce a fine instrument for him. This violin is now in a Baltimore collection. Ysaye, the world-famed violinist, paid the present Robert Glier the great compliment of purchasing one of his violins during his last tour of America, and of his own accord sent us a strong letter praising the violin to the fullest extent. The violins made by the Gliers during the last hundred years are the treasured possesÂsions.of many soloist and orchestra leaders in all-parts of the world.
