Superintendent’s Report for 2019

“Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: ‘I have seen the Lord.’” (John 20:18a) Mary went to the tomb to see Jesus. It

took three tries for her to achieve her goal. First, she saw angels. Then she saw Jesus but did not recognize Him. Finally, He called

her name and she saw Him. My prayer is for clarity and power as we “LOOK AGAIN” Through all the challenges and confusion of 2020, God has been with

us. The Enemy tried to scatter our people but the Spirit used the World Wide Web to keep us connected. The Enemy tried to

stop the flow of finances but God provided through the innovative generosity of our faithful people. The Enemy tried to take our

health but God has keep us safe or healed us as needed. Our Lord never looked away. As the old song says, “His eye is on the

sparrow and I know He watches me (us)!” As we “LOOK AGAIN” we will see His faithfulness in every part of our lives. 2019 was another banner year for Peninsular Florida. You will read the departmental reports in this document. You will be able to

review and study the Financial Report in its own format, as always. It is my joy to celebrate the highlights in my report. Then, the

details will be in the departmental reports. God bless you all. Indeed, the Enemy has tried every way possible to stop and defeat us in 2020. But here we stand, mighty and

victorious in the name of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit. We are thankful to God. Finances

God continues to prosper our District. We led the Assemblies of God in World Missions giving again and BGMC. Speed The Light

ranked in the top five of the General Council at $418,636.18. We are appreciative to the District Treasurer Wayne Blackburn,

Chief Financial Officer Greg Rodden, and the Finance Committee for their good work. You have been faithful in tithes and offerings. Minister’s tithes totaled $2,787,677.82 and our financial assets continue to be strong. World Missions

Peninsular Florida holds the Great Commission tightly. Our World Missions giving was more than 13 Million in 2019. PFDC giving

to both AGWM and USMissions combined exceeded 19 million dollars. Thanks to Tom Manning, our Assistant Presbyters, and all

Pastors and Missions Directors for moving the bar of missions support up another notch. Peninsular Florida Missions

Scott Young and his team lead us toward new church plants every month. The new concept of PAC (Parent Affiliated Churches) is

producing stronger church plants with larger and healthier initial congregations. Youth Ministries

Casey Casal saw record numbers of campers last summer enjoy a true Pentecostal revival atmosphere. Our teens are experiencing

genuine moves of the Holy Spirit in services, missions trips, and in our local church youth meetings. I am grateful to all PFDC

Youth Pastors and leaders. They are doing a great job. The PFYouth Fine Arts Festival remains one of the largest and finest in the

Assemblies of God. Our young people are developing talent and calling for ministry now and in the future. Women’s Ministries

THRIVE is more than the name of our annual PFWomen’s convention. It is the description of the philosophy of Deanna Shrodes

and all the Women’s Ministry team. Deanna moved Thrive into the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach and had a remarkable revival

event. Her leadership training happens at STRONGER and makes our ladies stronger, indeed. Preaching, touring, taking missions

trips, and encouraging women around our district, Deanna is constantly accomplishing records for the women of Peninsular Flori-

da. Girls Ministries

Bonnie Pait trains female leaders for the next generation. The Powette is the largest girl’s meeting in the Assemblies of God with

more than 1,000 girls encountering the Spirit. PF Girls Ministries is advancing at a record rate and we commend their effort. Our

girls are number 1 in the nation in GM giving to BGMC!

4

Credentialed Women

Presbyter Susan Pippin oversees an increasing population of Women in Ministry in Peninsular Florida. Her communications, con-

tacts, and leadership support the reputation of PFDC as the place for Women in Ministry in the Assemblies of God. Men’s Ministries

John Hensel and the MM Sectional Representatives give energy and advance to the ministry to men, Dads, missions for men, work

for men, and ministry opportunities for men. The MoMENtum conference inspires and trains men. They have stepped up to lend

assistance after hurricanes, in building repair, and soulwinning. I am grateful for the growth and forward progress. Royal Rangers

Peninsular Florida has had a strong Royal Ranger program for decades. District Commander Doug Moon continues the tradition.

Our Pow Wow is one of the largest in the nation. More importantly, hundreds of boys and men receive Christ as their Lord and

Savior every year at the altars at Pow Wow, and scores receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Our Rangers are number one in RR

-BGMC giving in the nation! Christian Education

Steve Powell is leading constant improvement and progress in every area of CE and discipleship ministries. The annual Experience

Conference is one of the largest church ministries conferences in the Fellowship. BGMC has led the Fellowship for most of the last

decade. PFDC DSOM is training future ministers and credential holders on a monthly schedule. Our District always has large cre-

dential classes and Steve Powell, Yohanna Irizarry, and Natalee Smith give excellent leadership to every new applicant in every step

of the process. League of Christian Schools

Michael Burroughs has established the LCS to be a fully accredited, and accreditation granting, service ministry to our church

schools and day cares. LCS holds the “gold standard” for our teachers and schools, making ours leading schools in many commun i-

ties. The LCS convention in November attracts delegates from all over the nation and a few foreign countries. Adult Ministries

After everything else, we do not forget our older individuals. Ken Pippin has brought new life and power to this work. His vision

for men and women to “Finish Strong” for God has inspired new participation, giving, and work for this group. He and Susan travel

to our churches encouraging older adults to give of themselves to teens, children, and young adults, sharing life experience, wis-

dom, and knowledge. That is causing new hope for many underprivileged children and youth. God is blessing in a wonderful way. And, of course, you – our presbyters and pastors and ministers and churches – are the engine of everything that happens in the

District. I thank God for all of you and pray His best for you, your families, and congregations. May the Lord continue to meet eve-

ry need and grant blessings in addition to your requests. 2019 was a banner year and, despite the difficulties of 2020, I believe His

blessings will continue upon all of us. Thank you for all you do. I pray God will bless you during this time.

Respectfully submitted,

Terry Raburn

The Lord Of The Harvest

When he [Jesus] saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to

send out laborers into his harvest.” – Matthew 9:36-38

I love that Jesus saw people. He didn't overlook people He saw the deepest needs of their souls. When He saw a crowd of people,

He saw human needs. He saw that people were hurting, and He knew what the solution was. The crowds of people needed the

gospel of the Good Shepherd. People need to hear about the Lord. We need laborers/ministers and missionaries who share the

same compassion that moved Jesus.

Our Lord is not just Lord of the people in the church; He is Lord of people in the harvest. He's Lord of people inside the church

and those who are not in the church yet. He's not just thinking about the people who are in His House, He's thinking about the

people who we haven't reached yet.

We are here to help you reach your harvest fields.

I know that our Executive Team along with our Presbyters and especially our District Pastor, Superintendent Terry Raburn are

praying that the Lord will strengthen, equip, and provide all you need to see the Lord of the harvest bring people who are far away

from God into the church of Jesus Christ.

New Church Planting

We continue to ask leaders, pastors and ministers to look for fruitful neighborhoods to plant it and grow great

churches. As a new generation arises, and the Lord continues to pour His Holy Spirit out on our sons and our

daughters, we need to plant new churches to reach this new generation. We would ask each of our ministers to ask

the Lord from time to time, "Lord, how would you like to use me in planting and growing churches for your glory?”

Eight new churches are part of our 2019 report. We thank the Lord for these plants, Arise Assembly PAC (Mike & Kristina Brad-

dock); Church of Hope – Portuguese (Marcio & Manuela Goncalves); Radiant Church PAC (Joon & Elizabeth Tavarez); Greenhouse

PAC (Troy & Heather Dinsdale); Calvary Ormond Beach - Palm Coast Location (Jim & Dawn Raley); Synergy Church (James &

Karine Cencebaugh); Messiah Worship Center (Lioner Clervois); and City Grace Church (Raymond & Benvena Holsomback).

We have 8 to 10 new church plants in the planting pipeline. There are still so many souls for us to reach.

You can find information and keep up-to-date by checking in to our website: www.pfplanting.com.

Church Multiplication Network

Over the past years CMN has aided in the training of more than 7,500 leaders and facilitated the launch of more

than 4,000 new churches. In that time, CMN has also worked with the AGTrust to distribute matching funds to

more than 500 churches—with more than $17 million distributed since CMN’s inception.

Throughout the year the CMN Team holds weeklong intensive church planting training called “Launch.” The Church Multiplication

Network continues to support the vision of "a healthy church in every community." This CMN Team offers training for churches at

multiple stages in the dream of starting new churches. You can connect to the training resources at:

www.churchmultiplication.net/training.

6

There was a CMN Launch event held in our District at Radiant Church - Tampa in January 22-25, 2019. Other training events are

planned to come to Florida. You can find the most current information on the site mentioned above.

For any further information on the Church Multiplication Network contact: www.churchmultiplication.net.

US Missions

We are grateful to our US Missionaries who reach people in their various mission fields. Their call-

ings are diverse, but the goal remains the same. We work and pray to see lives come to Christ and

grow as His disciples. Thanks to all the pastors and ministers who partner with and support these

important missionaries. The national US Missions ministry has listed the various US missionaries on

the site below. Please continue to reach out and encourage those who labor in the mission fields

that are closest to us. You can learn more and locate various missionaries at this site:

www.usmissions.ag.org/MissionaryLocator.

The Commanded Blessing Of The Lord

Psalm 133 tells us how good it is to dwell together in unity. The Psalm ends with the words that tell us in unity the Lord com-

mands His blessing. “For there the Lord has commanded the blessing, life forevermore.” – Psalm 133:3. When we choose to work

together we enjoy the favor of God's anointing and blessing. We know that when the believers gathered in "one accord" in Acts 2,

the Holy Spirit was poured upon them.

Working together helps all of us. The rising tide floats all ships. Thank you for your prayers and your support in working together

with the PF Family. It is a joy to work with our Executive Team, Superintendent Terry Raburn, Steve Powell, and Wayne Black-

burn. It is a joy for Darla and me to serve with our presbyters, ministers and missionaries formed the team that God wants to use

to reach our communities with the love of God.

Look around you! Vast fields of human souls are ripening all around us, and are ready NOW for reaping.

~ Jesus (John 4:35)

Steve Powell

In 2019, BGMC closed the year with $1,299,576.39 through your faithful giving. The team of Chuck

Padgett, Tom Manning, Sydney Morrow, and I thank you for believing in making the impossible pos-

sible for missions! A report of giving churches is included. Six out of the top 10 giving churches na-

tionally were from Peninsular Florida District. Forty of Peninsular Florida District Council churches

were in the top 100 giving nationally. Our Girls Ministry, under the leadership of Bonnie Pait, gave

thru Coins for Kids raising $1,113.01 for BGMC. Our Royal Rangers, under Doug Moon’s leader-

ship, gave through Master’s Toolbox, raising $10,685.37 for BGMC.

The 2019 Experience “US” Conference was a highlight. The ministry of Former Assistant General Superintendent Alton Garrison

and Dr. Samuel Rodriguez were remarkable. Thank you to all that contributed and assisted in making this equipping event happen.

PF Kids Director Sydney Morrow serves with passion and excellence. Thanks, Sydney! The PF Kids report is included.

District School of Ministry Director Tim Lastinger oversees our faculty, serves with passion and continued vision. Thank you, Tim.

The DSOM report is included. Natalee Smith continues to serve with excellence as the District School of Ministry liaison. Thank

you, Natalee.

Appreciation to our Executive Director of League of Christian Schools Michael Burroughs. He continues to serve with incompara-

ble vision, passion, and excellence. The LCS report is included. Michael has blessed the Peninsular Florida District Council as our IT

liaison. Thank you, Michael!

REPORT

Sydney Morrow

Kids Pastor’s Retreat

Our Kids Pastor’s Retreat took place the weekend of February 7th-9th at the Life Enrichment Center in Fruitland Park, FL. We had

around 70 Kids Pastors/Spouses in attendance. The event was designed to bring enrichment and connection to our local Kids Pas-

tors in Florida. We had an unbelievable time of recharging and incredible connection. So many testimonies of encouragement and

healing took place. We are so thankful for all that the Lord did in our lives, and we are excited about the future. We are already

making plans for our Focus Kids Pastors Retreat in February 2021. We will have Brian Dollar (Kids Pastor and creator of High

Voltage Kids Curriculum) as our guest speaker for 2021. I just would like to say a HUGE Thank You to all of our Lead Pastors that

helped invest in your Kids Pastor by sending them to this retreat.

District Fun Arts

Fun Arts 2019 took place at Calvary Orlando, on Saturday, May 11th. What an awesome event! We had over 250 kids involved

and a ton of parents and leaders. We are so excited about how God is using Fun Arts as a remarkable discipleship tool for our

kids. Thank you to Pastor Ed Garvin and the staff at Calvary in Winter Park for their continued belief and support of Fun Arts and

for the use of their incredible facility each year. We are grateful!

Kids Camp

Last summer we had two unbelievable weeks of Kids Camp. We are so thankful for what the Lord did in so many kids and leaders

this past summer. We had incredible things take place in the lives of our kids. We were blessed this summer to partner with Afri-

ca’s Hope and Shawn Deal to raise funds for Audio Disciples. Our churches and kids got so behind this project and we saw im-

pressive faith offerings for BGMC. In all between both weeks of Kids Camp, we raised $25,000 for Africa’s hope BGMC Project

$53. We had 83 kids this summer make a first-time commitment to follow Jesus! What a miracle! We also had the opportunity

to see 102 kids re-commit their lives to Jesus and get back on track with His plan for their lives. There were 292 kids that were

baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. One of our focuses this summer was to position kids to

hear God’s voice and to respond to Him and because of this we had 124 kids say that they heard the Lord call them to full time

service in ministry, and 60 of them were specifically called to Missions. How exciting! God is really awakening this generation to

His power and presence and they are responding, and we are so excited that we get to be a part of it. One of the most wonderful

things that we saw was JOY this summer at camp. We saw kids come to camp so overwhelmed with life and things happening in

their homes that they were robbed of joy and by the time camp was over we saw JOY unspeakable in each life and for that we are

so thankful!

BGMC

We saw a phenomenal year once again for BGMC in 2019. We have had so many churches and leaders get on board with BGMC.

It is so exciting. We had one of our greatest years yet for BGMC as a district. Once again Pen Florida was the #1 District in the

Nation for BGMC giving. We are so thankful for all the Lead Pastors and Kids Pastors and churches that understand the need to

provide our missionaries with the tools they need to reach people for Jesus all over the world.

Blessings!

DISTRICT SCHOOL OF

MINISTRY REPORT

Tim Lastinger

Blessings to all of you, my precious brothers and sisters in the Lord. As you know,

the DSOM school year runs similar to the traditional school year from September

to June. Since this report is specific to the calendar year of 2019, I will give you

the numbers specifically for that time period. The average number of students

attending DSOM each month across the seven locations was 65 to 70 attendees.

In September, we opened 2 new locations, Calvary AG in Dade City and the other

at Church of Hope in Sarasota.

All locations have done well except for our Southwest Ranches location, which had to be shut down due to lack of participation

in that region of the district. Hopefully the 2020/21 school year will bring better results for that location.

This year, we will be planting yet another new campus in the northeast of the Pen Florida District in Lake City. Pastor Ray Keen

has made available, facilities at the Hart 2 Hart Academy that is fully equipped to handle students from the North Central Florida

region. We believe that this may be a draw to even some students from the West Florida and South Georgia districts that may

find the drive to their own Schools of Ministry too distant to travel. Also, since the classes will be offered the 1 st Saturday of each

month it will allow those students in Jacksonville on the 2nd Saturday to either double up on some classes or adjust their schedule

when conflicts arise.

I would like to recognize our outstanding staffs who work tirelessly to make DSOM a reality. First, to my immediate supervisor

and dear friend Brother Steve Powell who has been a steady support throughout the year and to Natalee Smith and Michael Bur-

roughs who are constantly working behind the scenes in the office to keep the wheels turning. To my excellent on-site staffs, Pas-

tor Charles Walker, Pastor Giovanni Tejada, Joe Jamerson, Kevin & Rachel Church, Pastor Mike Carroll, Pastor Jonathan Carey,

Bryan Suprynowicz, Alex Bottorff, Pastor Robert McConathy and Pastor Matt Larsen, you guys are the greatest. I also am very

grateful to the pastors and congregations of Evangel Temple in Jacksonville, Life Church in Kissimmee, Glad Tidings AG in Key

West, Deland First AG, Church of Hope in Sarasota, Calvary AG in Dade City and New Hope Church in Southwest Ranches for

the use of their facilities to conduct our schools. I would also like to recognize the awesome faculty of some of the finest instruc-

tors in the world. We could not do it without you.

DSOM is the fastest and most economical avenue available to train laity within your church with sound biblical doctrine and to help

engage them with other leaders and laity that can share ideas and concepts to help them be successful in ministry. Besides, should

the government decide to shutter church doors again, wouldn’t you have peace of mind knowing that you have trained leadership

to lead small groups due to the training received from DSOM?

Should you have any questions or concerns related to DSOM, you will can contact me at [email protected]. Please feel free

to contact me and I will assist you to the best of my abilities.

In His Service,

Tim A. Lastinger

District School of Ministry Director

LEAGUE OF CHRISTIAN

SCHOOLS REPORT

Michael Burroughs

The League of Christian Schools, a ministry of the Peninsular Florida District Council, has expanded internally and externally in

2019. As the state’s largest provider of religious exemption for preschools, LCS completed over 254 preschools inspections last

year. Thanks to Head Inspector Bill Bauman and our team of 16 inspectors for monitoring each program for compliance.

On MLK day, members of the LCS leadership, along with Governor DeSantis, had the opportunity to

celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King at LCS member school, Piney Grove Boys Academy

in Ft. Lauderdale. The school, which serves African American boys, is making an impact in the commu-

nity. LCS was well recognized and represented with opportunities to speak with key legislators, lobby-

ists, media, and school choice leaders.

LCS monitored and responded to legislative issues, rule promulgation, and development in Florida,

Georgia, Virginia, and Washington states. LCS continues to be a vocal and influential advocate of faith-

based schools to operate free from government intrusion through state licensing. A review of our final

legislative report for 2019 can be found at our website: http://www.lcs.education/wp-content/

uploads/2019/04/Legislative-Tracking-Chart-2019.pdf

On June 18, I attended the first graduation for our member school, TCK Academy, in Springfield, MO. TCK Academy is the newly

launched online school that supports our missionary children abroad. TCK Academy is a service provided through the AG World

Missions and supports over 200 of our foreign-bound students and graduated students last summer. TCK Academy is an accredited

member of the League of Christian Schools, and we are honored to support the Department of World Missions in this endeavor.

Last August, LCS was represented as an exhibitor at the General Council of the Assemblies of God. This was our fifth General

Council participating as an exhibitor. I am also happy to report that we had eleven new schools join our association following the

weeks after General Council. We are encouraged and excited about the growth that God has provided.

Training Programs

LCS continues to offer two training programs that are licensed by the Florida Department of Education. The Florida Child Care

Professional Credential (FCCPC) program is the state’s CDA training for preschool teachers. LCS is licensed by the DOE to pro-

vide this course online and has trained over 100 teachers last year. Additionally, our Overview of Child Care Management

(OCCM/EDUC1033) is a 45 hour/3 credit course required in the state of Florida for all preschool directors. This course is offered

in partnership with Southeastern University and has trained nearly 50 students last year.

Accreditation

Last spring, LCS also created accreditation standards for School-Aged Child Care programs (after school). This is not only a grow-

ing need in our communities, but state and federal funds are available for accredited programs. Many of our churches operate such

programs. The LCS Board of Directors approved the School-Aged Child Care accreditation standards in September. A special

thanks to Tobi Manke, Director of Educational Accountability for her oversight of accreditation and the development of these im-

portant standards.

Beginning in March 2019, LCS underwent a 5-year audit by the Department of Education and DCF for our Gold Seal accreditation

program. The Gold Seal program allows preschools to earn 20% more funding for School Readiness funds provided by the state of

Florida. The arduous process reviews all standards of accreditation in light of federal accreditation standards established for the

CDCC Federal Grant Commission. In June, Florida Department of Children and Families approved LCS as Gold Seal accrediting

agency in the state of Florida for another 5 years.

Events LCS Festival

LCS Festival was hosted at SEU on March 29 & 30, 2019. In 2019, the festival grew by 7 new schools. We are thrilled to see so

many schools engaging in this fine arts program that helps prepare students for integrating their talents, gifts, and skills, with Biblical

worldview and Christian service. The festival hosted over 1,265 entries, representing over 1,650 students! It was the largest festival

we had historically hosted and represents a 21% growth over the prior year.

20

Encounter

On October 2-4, LCS hosted our annual middle school camp, Encounter. This year’s camp saw 249 attendees, making this our larg-

est Encounter in history. We were blessed by our speaker, Vandy Colter, from Kissimmee, and guest worship leaders, John and

Rebekah Thompson from Trinity International in Lake Worth.

Annual Conference

On November 14 & 15, LCS hosted the 2019 National Educators Conference in Orlando. Our guest worship leader, Clayton

Brooks from The Oaks, was powerfully anointed for this type of ministry. As a graduate of a Christian school in Texas, he is

uniquely connected to the ministry of Christian schools. Our keynote speaker was the author and educator, Dr. Cynthia Tobias.

Dr. Tobias has been a long-standing partner with Focus on the Family and works with Christian schools and parents in helping fos-

ter positive relationships. We hosted a record 134 workshops over the two-day event, with over 1380 in attendance.

Below are some end of year statistics for our association.

We celebrate all that was accomplished in 2019 through our Pen Florida churches for World Missions. You gave over $13 million

to AGWM Areas, and over $19 million to both home and world missions.

The 2019 District Missions Project in India has already raised more than $400,000 to plant churches and will continue for a couple

years. The 2020 District Missions Project will be Egypt. Our goal is $495,000 to renovate, expand, and build churches which have

been given a very unique window of opportunity. Be looking in your email for more information on the project.

For resources to help you promote missions visit our Peninsular Florida World Missions Web Site at http://pfwm.org.

A huge thank you to the Assistant Presbyters for booking over 200 services for our missionaries. When we book through the As-

sistant Presbyter, it works well for our missionaries and churches. Please continue to book through your Assistant Presbyter.

I encourage you to regularly invite a Peninsular Florida Missionary to share and give your congregation an opportunity to sow seed

into the harvest of World Missions.

ADULT MINISTRIES

REPORT

Ken Pippin

Finish Strong Adult Ministries Department experienced a productive year in 2019. We Believe IN You! a new missions project kicked off in 2019. This project assisted our local churches and the PFYouth and Chil-

dren’s Departments, to help every child and youth that wanted to attend camp, to have the financial capability to do so. Also , local

Finish Strong groups were encouraged to target those in their own churches who needed assistance. A total of five individuals

were sponsored this first year. March 3rd brought another fellowship and fun event enjoyed by ninety-three adults from twenty-one churches as the department

joined with Men’s Ministries for a deep sea-fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico on the Super Queen. April 6th was the date for the annual spring cruise aboard an authentic paddlewheel, The Barbara Lee, docked in Sanford, FL. This

cruise sailing time was changed to 3-6 pm. Nine churches plus some individuals participated. September 4-6 Director Ken and Susan Pippin along with several other PF Finish Strong leaders participated in the national SAM

Conference held at the Convention Center in Branson, MO. It was a tremendous success as a record crowd of leaders and pastors

across the nation gathered to learn how to more effectively minister to those aged 50 and up. The department was part of the September 14-15, 2019, Pen Florida Experience Conference with good participation from people

of all ages. New churches attended the October 20th cruise aboard the StarLite Majesty out of Clearwater for the annual fall dinner cruise

with fabulous food and great fellowship! This cruise is a favorite! Eleven churches plus some individuals were in attendance. Two Bike-a-Thons were sponsored in 2019. One on March 30th and one on October 26th. A total of $5,360.00 was raised and dis-

tributed to six Missions works: Youth Alive (Joe & Natalie Barnoske); Sozo Kids Camp (David Houck); Real Life Children’s Ranch

in Okeechobee; Project Rescue (David & Beth Grant); Compact Family Care (Ted & Angie Stackpole); and Special Touch Ministries

(Joe & Ann Trementozzi). The November 9th deep-sea fishing trip was rescheduled for 2020 because of a Coast Guard inspection of the Super Queen. The Power of Two program provided strong support with finances for the department. Directors Ken and Susan Pippin presented the vision and mission of the Finish Strong Department across the district in 2019. As

the department’s message went out, people responded with interest, excitement, and participation. Our goal is to start strong, stay

strong, and FINISH STRONG with the Lord Jesus! R. Ken Pippin

District Adult Ministries Director

Finish Strong Adult Ministries thanks the churches and individuals who contributed in 2019 to the financial stability of the depart-

MEN’S MINISTRIES

REPORT

John Hensel

Congratulations to PF District LFTL Director Todd Weston!

The February LFTL Tour produced a record-breaking giving success of $890,836.90!

March/April Discipleship Resources Training Tour

This first-ever state-wide training tour introduced the Discipleship Resources to the local level. These resources are designed to

train men’s leaders in developing an effective discipleship strategy for the men in the church. Discipleship Resources are free and

available on the district’s men’s webpage. Each church that participated was entered into a free MoMENtum registration drawing

for the pastor and up to 10 men. Sarasota Church of Hope Brasilia was the recipient. Pastor Goncalves reported that the confer-

ence greatly impacted his men.

MoMENtum Conference

Theme: MoMENtum Strength

The 2019 Men’s conference was held on May 3-4 at Calvary of Orlando, Winter Park, Florida. The main speakers were Wilfredo

‘Choco’ DeJesus Senior Pastor of New Life Covenant Church in Chicago, Illinois and PF Men’s Director John Hensel. Three hun-

dred, sixty-three men from forty-nine churches, plus speakers and vendors enjoyed the conference including the Tailgate before the

Friday opening rally and the Afterburn following that rally. Twenty+ equipping sessions were presented as well as a Pastors’ Track

with a Pastors’ Forum and a session with Pastor De Jesus. Lead Pastor Ed Gavin, Pastor Mike Justice, and the Calvary of Orlando

staff did an excellent job hosting the event.

Men’s Ministries and LFTL Appreciation Dinner, May 20, 5-6:30 p.m., Orlando Faith Assembly of God

The pastors and spouses who supported LFTL with a minimum of $1,000 and/or the Men’s Department via the Ministry Champi-

ons emphasis were hosted.

Three churches received LFTL awards as the top three giving churches: 1. Estero Living Waters 2. Winter Park

Calvary of Orlando and 3. Lakeland Victory. Former Pen Florida LFTL Director Baldy Boyd received the FLAME

award for his outstanding commitment to LFTL. Rev. Malcolm Burleigh was the keynote speaker. He did an excellent job minister-

ing to the pastors and spouses and promoting Men’s Ministries.

The National 360 MAN program was introduced and launched at MoMENtum. 360 Man is a part of a brotherhood of men

who are not willing to stand by and watch the spiritual decline of manhood in our nation. This program incorporates the PFDC

Armorbearer program and provides support for both the district PF Men’s Ministries and the national Men’s Ministries. A 360 Man

is living his faith-full circle and is focused on His identity in Christ and Spiritual Growth. His relationship with his family and his

brothers in Christ. His purpose in the Body of Christ and community. His vision for joining in the mission.

Benefits of Being a 360 MAN:

• A 360 MAN subscription will receive a 360 MAN Challenge Coin

• The 360 Spotlight monthly magazine

• Access to 200 free Discipleship Resources and

• Membership in a national brotherhood of men discipling men across the nation

August Men’s Rep Retreat

This annual strategizing retreat was held at the Saratoga Best Western in Kissimmee, Florida. Director Hensel led the men in a

focused time of prayer for the team’s personal needs as well as seeking the Lord’s direction and will for the advancement of Men’s

Ministries in Pen Florida and the 2020 events. Strategizing took place for the Simulcast, Launch & Lead Kits Training, a Virgin Islands

missions trip, and MoMENtum. Reps and spouses enjoyed fellowship at dinner on Friday and then a wonderful outing to the Holy

Land Experience on Saturday.

District-wide Men’s Ministries Leadership Training Simulcast

September 28, Men’s Ministries launched a new milestone with the first-ever simulcast across the district 42 churches, 30 pastors,

and 14 sections were represented. The simulcast offered training on How to develop an effective strategy for Men’s Ministries in

the local church and How to utilize the free discipleship resources offered by the national Men’s office.

27

Ministry Champions

In 2019, seventeen churches supported the Men’s Ministries department. Ministry Champions provided support with monthly con-

tributions to help facilitate the advancement of ministry to men. Newly subscribed churches received a complete Week of Prayer

and Fasting kit.

Virgin Islands Bridge Building Tour

Director John Hensel and Section 17/99 Men’s Rep Leonard Shaw traveled to the US and BVI on a relationship tour for men’s Min-

istries. Meetings were held with Pastors Peter D’Abreau, Virgin Gorda BVI; Wayne Hoyte, Tortola First, BVI; Vincent Liger, Fred-

eriksted Assembly, USVI; Seaton Wilson, Saint Croix First, USVI; and George Phillips, St Thomas Assembly, USVI. This trip pre-

pared the way for the launch of Pen Florida Men’s Ministries in the Virgin Islands through the March 2020 Endurance Simulcast.

ROYAL RANGERS

REPORT

Doug Moon

Royal Rangers had a great year in 2019. We had good participation in all our events. Many boys and young men made life changing

decisions for Jesus through Rangers last year. God truly blessed us in our efforts as the dedicated leaders from around the District

pulled together to minister to the attendees at all events.

We started the year off by appointing Kevin Church as our new FCF President at our annual FCF Trace. Kevin has raised his boys

in Rangers and been active for many years. He will prove to be a great addition to our District Ranger Staff and will do great things

to enhance FCF in our District. He has started out strong and we look for him to continue striving to make FCF an important part

in the life of many boys in our ministry. He has assembled a great group of guys to form his staff. I’m expecting great things from

FCF in the coming years as Kevin listens to God and allows Him to direct his path.

Our Pow Wow was once again one of the highlights of the year. We had a

slight increase in attendees again last year. Our theme was “The Adventure

Continues” after we had our fiftieth anniversary Pow Wow in 2018. We

introduced several new events and hope to continue to do so each year.

We were happy to have National Children’s Ministries Director Mark

Entzminger as our main speaker. He did a great job of ministering to the

younger boys.

For those of you that may not know, we run three services simultaneously

each night. We had the desire to minister to all the boys of every age

group that attend, so we decided to break it up each night into multiple

services so we can reach them all on their own levels. We run an inside

service for boys second grade and under, our main service for elementary

and middle school boys, and another service for high school age boys. We

feel by doing this we can have speakers that speak to each boy on the level

that he needs, therefore enhancing his ability to get what God has for him. We feel this has been a great thing and enhanced the

experience for the boys.

We had our second annual training weekend and had over fifty new leaders attend each day. Our desire is that this will help new

leaders not only learn about Rangers, but also help them develop relationships with leaders from other churches. We hope that

these relationships will help the leaders become more likely to stay committed to serving in our ministry. We all want to feel like

we are working together to reach others for God. Working alone is much tougher than working together with others to reach a

common goal.

All the Junior Training Events and the Summer Merit Camp were very successful and had good attendance again last year. These

camps offer us the opportunity to minister to boys in smaller groups for an extended period of time. They all last about four days

and the boys attend without the leaders from their local church. This allows them to form friendships with other boys and learn

things they can typically learn in an hour and a half on Wednesday night or in a campout with their local church. We bring in great

Ranger Leaders from around the District to Staff these events hoping to have the maximum impact we can on the attendees lives.

I’d like to once again thank the Pastors from the churches across the District for allowing the men in their church to partic ipate in

Rangers. Without you allowing them to help us we could never do all that we do. We’ll never know how many lives are changed

each year because of their efforts. That wouldn’t be possible without your support.

Respectfully submitted,

Doug Moon

WOMEN’S MINISTRIES

REPORT

Deanna Shrodes

PF Women exists to help women of every generation thrive and reach their God-given potential

through the power of the Holy Spirit.

In helping women thrive, we value leadership development. We began our year strengthening

women in leadership through the STRONGER Conference. The general sessions, practical lead-

ership tools and networking opportunities were of tremendous value to the hundreds of female ministers, spouses of ministers,

women’s ministry directors, business women, and up-and-coming leaders. Donna Barrett spoke into our lives in the general ses-

sions and there were over 35 specialized workshops geared to help women in their area of service.

PF Women also hosted a leadership luncheon at District Council and over 395 district leaders were present. Our guest speaker

was Chris Sonksen from Church Boom. This event was an opportunity for leaders to gather around the table and enjoy a great

meal, conversation, and a valuable leadership teaching. It also afforded us a few minutes to share with district leaders about ways

PF Women can help them, and the local church.

During the month of May we hit the road, taking THE LET IT GO TOUR to 18 cities in our district, including the Keys! Women

from coast to coast experienced breakthroughs in and lives were changed forever. This tour is now our largest attended event,

with well over 2,000 women attending a tour stop

Momentum continued to build for the upcoming THRIVE Conference. Once

again despite increasing our room block significantly, we sold out. The confer-

ence featured keynote speakers Karen Wheaton, Lindsey Wheaton Doss, and

Deanna Shrodes and breakout speakers Lisa Shaw, Sonia Figueroa, Bonnie Pait

and Gabrielle Santiago. The altars were filled with women receiving Christ as

their Savior, hundreds received the baptism in the Holy Spirit and miracles of

healing took place.

Throughout the year we continued to produce our weekly podcast as part of

our PF Women Stronger Leadership Network which serves to help women

leaders become even stronger for God’s glory. We share the weekly podcast

each Wednesday. Although we intended the podcast to be a tool to help build,

equip and motivate Pen Florida leaders, we are astounded and humbled at the

extent of our listening audience that spans not only Pen Florida but most of the United States and 13 other countries.

Touch the World missions giving continued to increase and we came in at third place out of all the districts in the United States in

the Assemblies of God! In addition to supporting our Pen Florida missionaries with funds for household goods, we were able to

give to several other mission projects including Pen Florida U.S. Missionaries Steve and Sandra Hogue, as well as the Protect Me

Project which is an Assemblies of God endeavor in Latin America which addresses human trafficking. In addition to these projects

we also took a missions trip to Guatemala, and 14 women from different churches in the district were a part of the team. While

there we ministered in schools, churches and villages, hosted a women’s conference, much more with lives transformed by the

power of God.

We are so thankful to our supporting churches as well as our 1000 Sister partners who make the fulfilling of our mission possible.

For the sixth year in a row our ministry has operated in the black and we have been able to do more for God than we have ever

done, thanks to your giving. Over the past six years since I have served as director, our department has grown financially by 195%!

Glory to God!

We are gearing up for the spring/summer tour: the MADE FOR MORE tour. We will be making stops in 18 cities (including the

Keys!) and are believing for amazing things as we move forward in the purpose, power and presence of God.

THRIVE 2020 will be held at the Daytona Ocean Center Arena for the second year in a row!! Last year exceeded every expecta-

tion and we are prepared for God to blow our minds this year. Our theme is: EMPOWERED WOMAN (Acts 2:4) We will gather

30

October 9-10 for an unforgettable time in the presence of God.

Our keynote speakers will be Kim Owens, Savanna Hartman and

Deanna Shrodes, with breakout speakers Evelyn Klingler, Shamya

Tolbert, Marisela Santiago, Bonnie Pait and Gabrielle Santiago. There

will be breakout sessions for teen girls, young adult women, women

in leadership, and more.

One of the hallmarks of PF Women is that everything is accom-

plished through a team. We believe in teamwork not just as a theory

but in practice. With that said, I am so thankful for our outstanding

team. One of our core values at PF Women is that we are an oasis

of excellence, and truly they live up to that! I am so grateful for team

members who go the extra mile – many of them working DAILY for

this ministry! An extra special shout out goes to my assistant, Judi

Cotignola, who pours her heart and soul into all that we do day in

and day out.

I am thankful for the support of the leadership of our great district - our Superintendent, the executives and spouses, the presby-

tery, district office staff, and most of all my family. My husband Larry has made many sacrifices so that I could fulfill the call of God. I

love you, babe!

In the coming year, PF Women will continue to passionately pursue our mission. Thanks to every pastor, leader and church who

has supported us in any way this past year. You are never, ever unnoticed and you are loved.

Here to help,

GIRLS MINISTRIES

REPORT

Bonnie Pait

In 2019 “Generation 2 Generation” rang loud in our Spirit as we mentored and discipled the next generation of young ladies! From

our Refuel Leaders retreat to Powette to LIT- Teen Girl Retreat, we focused on empowering leaders and equipping girls in the

Word of God! Our desire is to see a generation rooted and grounded in the Word of God, growing in a love relationship with

Jesus Christ, filled with Holy Spirit and walking out their destiny! In January we hold Refuel, leaders retreat, at Masterpiece Gardens. This is always a great time for building relationships within the

local team that comes, between churches and the GM leadership team. We love to encourage equip and empower the women to

be effective in their local churches during this weekend. We go after the Presence of God and our strength is renewed!

We had a tremendously powerful Powette for girls in 3rd-12th grade! We saw many girls set free on

Saturday as we encountered some rain. Many of the girls and leaders continued to worship God in the

pouring rain and out of that time many testified to being set free! There were many prophetic words

given from various girls all over the state testifying to “God washing them clean.” We saw girls deliv-

ered from strongholds and bondages around the altars and many filled with the Holy Spirit! It was a

powerful weekend we will never forget!

We had our largest and most powerful Teen Girls Conference, LIT, in June! Friday night you could see the walls up in these

young ladies lives as we gathered together. Anointed worship, led by Britany Pitcher and Josiah Pait, and a powerful word from

Michelle Gonzalez, and we saw Holy Spirit move and the walls begin to slowly come down! God’s Presence was incredibly strong

in that place! Saturday morning we gathered for a time of what I call “soaking” in the Presence of the Lord. I believe in training oth-

ers in how to quiet yourselves and listen in for the voice of God. I

shared some of my testimony leading into this time and then we

sat before the Lord with worship going, ears open, Word of God

and journals in hand. Near the end of that time, the Holy Spirit led

me to 1 John 3 and showed me a picture of The Father’s love be-

ing lavished out on us, yet some of the girls were/could not re-

ceive due to various things. As I spoke into this and asked the girls

to stand if they did not feel the Father’s love and mentioned vari-

ous things, one by one they stood and we prayed over them and ministered to them. It

was an incredibly powerful time as hearts were healed and the Father’s love was

poured out. Many sensing and experiencing the Father’s love for the first time! From

there the girls went into breakout sessions, taught by Julianne Rosekelly, Lissette Te-

lemaco and Margie Santiago. They learned how God speaks and how to hear God, the

power of their “self -talk,” and how to have Godly relationships– from parents, to

peers. These were extremely powerful sessions as they were broken down by grades

32

and smaller groups, so the girls engaged a whole lot! After lunch we gathered the girls together and AshleyDawn Wells shared on

purity and modesty in such an impactful, unique way! The girls were really challenged and grabbed hold of the truth! Michelle Gon-

zalez closed us out and by then the girls were all at the altars for worship and we had a powerful time of prayer as the girls prayed

over one another! The walls were down, and God had spoken His Word and truth into their lives! To see girls set free and chasing

after Jesus– well, there is nothing like it! “And they shall know the truth and the truth will set them free” John 8:32 During the summer and throughout the year we travel and hold trainings in the local church to equip and empower women in

mentoring and discipleship. We believe in the local church and desire to see a thriving discipleship ministry in each one! We love

connecting, encouraging and praying with the women! The girls raised money for Youth Alive Florida – our missions project in 2019! We are excited for the opportunity to have the

gospel message declared in our schools, reaching the students in Florida! The girls raised and gave Youth Alive Florida

$17,881.44!! Way to go Pen Florida Girls! We also collected over 600 bags of personal items (shampoo, hairbrush, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, body spray)

and handed them out with Missionary David Houck to the children and families in the Ocala National Forest in August! So excit-

ed to be a part of giving locally to meet needs in our state! With each one working together and being obedient to do what God placed in their hearts, we will see a generation on fire for

Jesus! Mpacting Generations,

YOUTH MINISTRIES

REPORT

Casey Casal

What an incredible year it was in PFYouth! We saw Jesus move in such great ways. Lenore and I were able to see so many of our

prayers come to fruition this year. We are so grateful to all of those who have come along side us and believed for greater. We

truly have an amazing team surrounding us, praying for us and encouraging us. Jesus has clearly been at the center of it all! We are blessed with an incredible leadership team for PFYouth. Thank you to those who served as our Assistant DYD Chris

Screws, Secretary Kristian Reyes and Speed the Light Strategist Eric Delaney for their creative minds, unwavering support and be-

lief in the Youth Department mission. Our sectional reps and STL Coordinators are also such a critical piece in much of what we

do. Thanks to each. Tim McDaniel has continued to serve faithfully as the Teen Bible Quiz Coordinator and Dan Anderson has

served well as Junior Bible Quiz Coordinator. Tammy Stanley serves at the Youth Department’s assistant. She works tirelessly to

make sure all the details of our events are covered as well as a plethora of other administrative needs for PFYouth. Lenore Casal

continues to minister to and council many of the youth pastors wives, female youth pastors and students. She simply is amazing and

I love to have her by my side as a partner in ministry. The PFYouth Leaders Conference was held February 22-23 at Arise Assembly of God in Brandon. We saw nearly 200 youth

leaders from churches all over our district come and grow together. Main sessions were led by Casey Casal, Brad Lomenick, Darin

Stroud, and Jim Raley. There were ten “TED-TALK” sessions that were specifically focused for the lead youth pastor, volunteer

leaders, as well as leadership development. PFYouth has amazing pastors and volunteers that believe in this generation of students

and have sacrificed so much of their time to see young people changed and transformed. Since leadership development is a core

value of PFYouth there is a high priority placed on who is brought in to share in both main sessions and breakouts. Bible Quiz is an awesome discipleship tool that challenges students to not just read the Word, but to memorize the Word. Josh-

ua 1:8 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do

according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Junior Bible Quiz Top 4 teams (which went on to the Southeast Regional) Pen Florida ended up sending 6 teams.

2019 Pen Florida District champion: Life Church of Fruitland Park the "Triple Truth"

2nd place Avengers of JBQ (Faith Assembly of God)

3rd place Christian Life Center (Fort Lauderdale) #1 (Christian Life Center)

4th place New Life Assembly (Lehigh) #1 (New Life Assembly)

48 teams in attendance Teen Bible Quiz is a fantastic ministry for our middle and high school students! The 2018-2019 season saw students from around

Florida engage with the books of 1st and 2nd Corinthians through memorization and competition. Jacksonville Freedom Christian

Fellowship repeated as champions of PF Youth’s Advanced League. The Orlando Homeschoolers were the champions of PF Mid-

dle League. Isaac Lee, from Jacksonville FCF, was the top scorer in the Advanced League, followed by Allie Hostetler (Fruitland

Park LIFE Church) and Davey Motta (Jacksonville FCF). Orlando’s Natalie Freer was the top Middle League scorer. The end of

2019 saw students turn their attention towards the wonderful gospel of John. The quizzing season began in October. Looking ahead, the 2020-2021 season will feature Bible engagement with the books of Hebrews, 1st and 2nd Peter, and Jude.

Leagues will begin forming in the fall of 2020, with competition slated to start in October. Chi Alpha is such a strong ministry for our college students in Pen Florida. God is doing big things on the college campuses. Our

campus pastors missionaries in the state include Reverends Steve and Charlene Michaels who reaches international students at the

University of Florida; Rev. Joe Lortie from the University of Miami; and Rev. Charmaine Townsend from the University of Central

Florida. Rev. Chris Wheeler who is the Director for Chi Alpha ministry at Florida Gulf Coast University; Ryan Galloway at the

University of Florida; Taylor and Amy Kroeller at Florida Southwestern State College, and Rev. Lee Jenkins focuses on the Muslim

students that attend University of South Florida. We are so thankful for all of their incredible work for the Kingdom. The Fine Arts Festival We are so proud of all the students that participated at National Fine Arts in Orlando. this year. We had

192 Top 10 placements with 75 in the top 3, and 33 awards of merit! God has truly blessed our state with some of the most tal-

ented and gifted teenagers. Fine Arts is an incredible discipleship tools for students to develop their giftings and create great rela-

tionships along the way. Congratulations to all the students and churches that participated in this year’s National Fine Arts Festival!

To follow are the results from an incredible week!

Summer Camp In seven camps we saw 3176 attend. Once again our camps were sold

out and every week we had students in hotels. We will look to add a few bells and whistles

to make the experience fun and exciting. We will add another water station to prevent de-

hydration. We will also had 3-5 fire pits to make smores and roast marshmallows and a few

more benches for seating. However, adding dorms has to be a focus for us in the near fu-

ture as camps are growing! This year we saw 193 first time decisions, 509 rededicated their

lives, 257 felt a call to ministry and 502 were filled with the baptism of the Holy Spirit with

the evidence of speaking in tongues! God moved and we are thankful that we also saw 517

HEALED of either emotional, physical or spiritual healing and 214 water baptisms. We truly

saw God do the miraculous and will continually believe for more. Thank you to all the

youth pastors, kids pastors, and leaders that spent a week with students, who sent students

and who helped lead camp in so many areas. Thank you to Sydney Morrow and her team for leading an amazing 2 weeks of kids

camp which also were filled with salvations, miracles, and children filled with the Holy Spirit.

Miami Mission 52 AIMers went into Miami and served, over 133 salvations, 2 physical healings, and over 1000 in attendance at

three different sites. Students shared the Gospel, encouraged people, worked hard and did so with humility and joy! Students

worked at 3 different areas, Florida City, House of God Temple in Liberty City and Redlands Housing Authority in Homestead. At

each of these places they did one on one evangelism, built parks, helped with homes and loved on the kids of the neighborhood.

They also had a worship session at the county courthouse and evangelized around the courthouse. We had services each night and

saw so much fruit from the labor of the days. So thankful for David Houck and his team who continue to help lead the efforts at

Miami Mission and who work so diligently at one of the most powerful trips a student can go on as they reach those in their own

backyard!

El Salvador El Salvador was incredible once again! We had 23 go on the trip. We worked in local

schools, did street ministry and ministered in churches. We shared the gospel in the “Red Light Dis-

trict” with women who have been trafficked. The team did 14 Programs with 3185 people reached,

530 salvations, 1735 problems prayed for, 915 people prayed for healing (in self or family), 3 miracu-

lous healings and 5 PFYouth Students filled with the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Thank you to Pastor

Mark Hylton, Pastor Jun Gonzalez and Pastor Amanda Hahn who led well and came on this trip and

brought their students. We were also blessed to have on our trip with us Dove Award Latin artist

Evan Craft who came for 4 days and ministered with us as well has helping us with our healing and

miracles crusade.

Rise Conference This is one of our largest events! It is an awesome time for students to come for

two days and get their lives significantly impacted! Rise was held at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland

on November 21-23. We saw 1900 students and leaders attend this year’s Conference. The Belonging

Co led in worship, Casey Casal opened the conference with a word on the power of the Holy Spirit,

Johnnie Wilson spoke the Speed the Light service, Reggie Dabbs brought the house down in the third

service and Alex Seeley closed the conference. The Holy Spirit was evident, the intimate atmosphere

of worship was special, and God moved in many lives.

hit over $500,000 this year and we firmly believe this can happen because more and more churches in our district are seeing the

impact STL is having around the world. To follow is the total giving list from churches in 2019. We deeply appreciate the efforts of the local church so that we can see

missionaries “go into ALL the world”. We also would like to challenge all who gave in 2019 to give 10% more this year! Help us

reach the $500,000 mark for STL Giving. In 2019 churches gave $2550.00 in support of the ministry of PFYouth. In 2020 we need your support to go Where God has called

us to go. Join us in helping this generation and support PFYouth financially. The best is yet to come!! Log onto www.PenFlorida.org

SOUTHEASTERN

UNIVERSITY REPORT

Kent Ingle

2019-20 Southeastern University

Annual President’s Report to the AG Districts

Since our founding in 1935, Southeastern University has continually served students seeking a premier Christian higher education.

For 85 years, we have been committed to equipping students to serve Christ and the world through Spirit-empowered life, learn-

ing and leadership.

This spring, however, presented an unexpected challenge for us all due to the global coronavirus pandemic. In March, none of us

could have predicted the rapid, widespread impact this virus would have! SEU took careful consideration before we transitioned to

a remote learning format for the remainder of our 2019-20 academic year. These transitions were not easy for anyone, and our

faculty and staff had to prepare for many changes rapidly. However, we knew it was the best decision for our SEU community.

Thankfully, we are located in an area that has not been densely affected by the virus. Additionally, we had several hundred students

– many of them international students – who could not travel home in March, and who remained in residence halls throughout the

spring semester. This experience provided us with valuable insight and experience for future planning.

We plan to begin our fall semester on September 2, and while we know the next sea-

son presents uncertainties and concerns, we are looking forward to seeing our students back

on campus for the fall semester! We move forward, trusting God in a world that could be

easily riddled by fear. Scripture reminds us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of

love, peace and a sound mind.

As we look forward to a new beginning in September, we can also look back at 2019-20 as a

year of milestones, achievements and innovation.

Continued Growth

In 2019-20, Southeastern had another year of record enrollment, with a total enrollment of 9,894 students, including 8,717 under-

graduate and 1,177 graduate students. Our SEU extension sites provide access to affordable education to thousands of students

who otherwise might not be able to attend college. Since our first extension site campus opened in 2012, SEU has continued to

expand and now has 150 sites in 40 states.

This year, through our traditional and unrestricted education programs, Southeastern University trained nearly 2,300 students

for ministry and ministry-related positions, making SEU the largest Pentecostal university in the country!

Successful Campaign and our new Welcome Center

Two years ago, Southeastern broke ground on our new Welcome Center and kicked

off Project Gateway, a campaign to raise funds for the Welcome Center, a three-

story, 31,200-square-foot building which would serve as a gateway to new and pro-

spective students and welcome these students and their parents to campus.

During this campaign, a group of anonymous donors came to us and pledged to give

Southeastern its largest single donation ever – a $3 million matching gift for the Wel-

come Center’s Project Gateway campaign. We are thrilled to announce that this

spring, we successfully completed the campaign, raising $6 million total for Pro-

ject Gateway and the new SEU Welcome Center! We are grateful for the gener-

ous support of our churches, alumni and friends, whose gifts allowed us to meet our

$3 million goal and receive the $3 million matching gift.

The three-story, 31,200-square-foot Welcome Center is now open and serves as a gateway to students who are about to begin

their journey to discover their calling and their divine design, and also houses administrative offices and a banquet room for special

events.

Spiritual Life on Campus

Southeastern continues to have a vital spiritual life on campus, in spite of the

changes necessitated by COVID-19. Prior to this spring’s campus shutdown,

students had several opportunities each week for chapel services, small disci-

pleship groups, and ministry with local churches. Even as students returned

home to learn remotely, our campus pastors and Spiritual Formation team

led online devotions and continued to minister to students via Zoom calls

and social media. Summer mission trips were cancelled this year, but in 2019,

more than 400 students took part in mission trips and volunteered 50,000

hours in ministry and outreaches.

This year’s Conference, our spiritual emphasis week, saw over 3,000 stu-

dents, faculty, and guests come together for three days of amazing worship

and speakers such as Dharius Daniels, Nadine Raphael, and Chris Durso.

Other 2019-20 Highlights

Southeastern has also added or enhanced several new initiatives, such as the “All In for Student Success” program, the Global Pen-

tecostalism Center, the Center for Women in Leadership, the American Center for Political Leadership, as well as several new

degree offerings, including programs in Pastoral Care and Counseling, Worship Ministries, Nursing, Aviation, and Strategic Leader-

ship.

Here are just a few of the other highlights from this year:

SEU is ranked in the Top 25% in affordability nationwide.

98% of SEU students receive some form of financial aid.

SEU Fire Athletics teams enjoyed one of its most successful seasons, and in the last four years, Fire athletic teams have

won 19 conference championships and made 30 national tournament appearances.

Our accounting majors are some of our most sought-after graduates, and they have had significantly higher CPA first-time

pass rates than other university business graduates when they have taken their exam.

Southeastern’s Nursing students have a 92% first-time pass rate on their state board exam—the average for the entire

state of Florida is only 77%.

Located in the heart of SEU’s campus, the Pathways School of Excellence is a private Christian school for middle and high

school aged children with special needs and provides a learning opportunity for SEU majors across several different disci-

plines.

Serving our students at a Christ-centered, student-focused institution is at the heart of what we do at Southeastern. As a support-

ing district, church, or individual, you are also a part of each and every student’s calling and success! We appreciate your contin-

ued prayers and support as we move forward in this season.

Blessings,

Kent J. Ingle, D.Min
