Grapevine Middle School Pony Pride Dance Team Annual Cost Expectation

Pony Pride Dance Team is considered an extracurricular activity; personal expenses are required to participate. The annual estimated cost varies between $600-$1,000. A fundraising opportunity is offered prior to uniform order night to offset a portion of this cost. There is also a resale where current and former dance team members sell gently used practice items and costumes. The resale is a great opportunity to save money. Costume payments can be made throughout the summer. NO large sum of money is due up front. Team fundraisers will be held throughout the year; applying those funds earned to the Pony Pride yearly budgetary items such as contest fees, choreography fees, etc. A break down of exact cost for costumes, technique classes, and camp costs will be provided at the Team Parent Meeting following the release of the official team. Uniforms that are being changed for the 2019-2020 season will be purchased by Pony Pride and will be the property of Pony Pride. Finally, all dancers wanting to return must make sure that their account has been paid in full with Leapin’ Leotard and have turned in their Military uniforms. Officers are expected to attend an officer camp this summer in addition to team dance camp. This is an additional cost. Officers will be expected to raise funds for two of the three competition routines to assist with the cost of competition fees, choreography, and costumes. Furthermore, there is Parent Booster Club that has just started that will help cover costs and give parents a voice. More information will be available following team auditions. Lastly, it is required for any dancer who commits to being a part of the team to attend camp in August and all prescheduled Mandatory practice sessions and competitions. Please review the dates provided and any unscheduled specific dates will be scheduled by no later than the end of August. Notes of these unspecified dates have been listed in the calendar in the month of when it will take place. The directors take great care in making sure costs are kept as low as possible for all participants and their families. If there are any concern with the cost of the program, please let Mrs. Jordan know directly. We have always been able to find a way to make it work for all our dancers and their families. If cost is a concern, please still try out. Do not let money be the reason for not trying out.
