Code of ConductRegistrationLocated in the Grand Ballroom Foyer

Hours Thursday: 3pm-7pm Friday: 9am-6pm Saturday: 9am-6pm Sunday: 9am-2pmEveryone within the Anime California conven-tion space must wear their badge visibly at all times, or risk being escorted out. Anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult, and those attendees that are 13-17 years of age that are being dropped off must have a waiver signed by a guardian. (Minor Waivers will be available at registration) Badges for children ages 7 to 12 are $10 off the regular price, and children 7 and under are free.No refunds or badge transfers are available at the convention. For any 18+ events, government issued ID will need to be presented. If a badge is lost, check with con ops for lost and found. If the badge is still lost, a replacement badge may be issued for a fee of $30; however, that is subject to availability of badges. Badges will be sold at con until capacity is reached, once capacity is reached, registration will shut down.

Welcome to Anime California. We are happy to open our doors to people of every walk of life, with being able to provide a safe environ-ment for all. These rules are created in order to keep attendees, staff, and others safe for the entire convention. Please keep your badge visible at all times while walking around the convention.Anime California Inc., reserves the right to refuse entrance and/or service to any person or persons at the convention.RULES AND RESPONSIBILITIESIn addition to these general conduct policies, we also have rules and guidelines for cosplay, press, exhibitors, and others. For these guide-lines, you may go the respective departments for further information. Violations of these rules and responsibilities can result in loss of privileges, up to and including; ejection with-out refund, legal action, or involvement of the authorities.• Do not do anything that could make the

convention less fun for other attendees, the hotel, the staff, or for yourself. If it’s dangerous, obnoxious, uncomfortable, or otherwise, do not do it. It is all of our re-sponsibilities to let everyone have a safe, respectful, and fun weekend.

• Offensive behavior, language, gestures, and/or using sexually explicit or offensive language, conduct, profanity, obscene gestures or racial, religious or ethnic slurs is not tolerated

• Cosplay is not consent. We are a firm be-liever in this policy. Sexual harassment is not tolerated at Anime California. Touching someone anywhere inappropriately without consent from said individual, or repeatedly touching them after being asked not to. We also consider verbal harassment serious as well; your words are just as impactful. Anime California enforces a zero tolerance policy in regards to sexual harassment

• If it is illegal outside of the convention, it is illegal here. Excessive or underage alco-hol use, drug use, harassment, carrying firearms, and many other things are illegal, and will result in your loss of the privilege to attend our convention. If you have a safety or security concern, bring it to the

convention’s operations center immedi-ately. In emergencies, dial 911.

• Hotel Parties - If you are hosting a party where alcohol is being served, it is your responsibility as host to ensure that the age of anyone drinking alcohol is checked. You should also designate someone not to drink, so that there is a fully competent person present to deal with any emergen-cies that might arise.

• Underage drinking is prohibited anywhere inside and outside the convention. Anyone caught drinking and/or suspected of be-ing under the influence who is not able to provide a government issued ID, will have their badge removed and be reported to the local authorities.

• Photography and video recording of any kind are strictly prohibited during any AMV contest or anime screenings.

• Selling anything of any kind at the conven-tion is prohibited unless you are a regis-tered exhibitor with the convention.

• By attending the convention you under-stand that convention staff may take video footage and photographs throughout the convention which may be used in high-lights, marketing endeavors, or other media. You consent to be filmed or pho-tographed by staff, approved industry, or media during the entire convention without compensation to you. Your attendance constitutes a grant of rights to the con-vention to reproduce, display, distribute, perform, creative derivative works of, or otherwise use any video or pictures that it obtains and in any manner throughout the world in perpetuity, including online, for broadcast, or other transmissions.

• These rules apply to all types of attendees, including exhibitors, press, and other con attendees. We may also establish addi-tional policies covering press, exhibitors, and others.

• The convention’s code of conduct and other rules are subject to change at any time, and without notice, at the discretion of the convention. Violation of the rules is grounds for immediate loss of your con-vention badge and suspension from the convention.

If anyone is found in the Anime California convention space without a badge, they will be escorted to Registration by Safety, and will be given the opportunity to purchase a badge. If this opportunity is refused, the of-fender will then be escorted off the premise by hotel security, and will be banned from Anime California. As a courtesy to our fans and attendees, all events are badge free on Day 0, Thursday, August 21st, 2014

What do my convention registration costs go towards? Your registration payments are used for a number of purposes to facilitate holding the convention, such as paying the hotel or convention center, bringing in VIP guests of honor, and getting equipment used during the convention. Early registration gets a discount, as we are often able to lower costs when we can more accurately estimate the number of people attending in advance. Your registration fees also help us put a large number of hours each week into planning the event and helps to make Anime California the best event that it can be!

Weapons PolicyDisabled Services PolicyAnime California is committed to ensuring that attendees with disabilities have access to all convention programs, facilities, and activities. RegistrationAttendees with disabilities may bypass the badge registration lines. Upon Arrival to the Hyatt, Attendees should proceed to the Infor-mation Desk, where a disabled services staff will escort them to the registration area, no waiting in line required. After the attendee has completed his or her registration and picked up his or her badge, the attendee should return to the info desk in order to receive a priority access sticker.Priority Access StickerPriority access stickers should be pasted to a visible area on the attendee’s badge so the sticker does not obstruct view of any vital badge information. Each disabled attendee and up to two of his/her companions will re-ceive the priority access sticker, which entitles all recipients to the following accommodations:• Front-of-line access to panels, Main

Events, and Special Events. *Please note that there will be priority seating in the front rows of all the programming rooms

• Priority entrance to the exhibit hall prior to opening.

Assistance AnimalsGuide dogs and other assistance animals are permitted in the hotel per ADA regulations.• Hyatt Regency Orange County is a dog-

friendly hotel. To book a pet-friendly room at our hotel, please call reservations at 800-233-1234. The following policies and charges will apply:

tub Benches, Grab Rails & Closet Pole (available upon request)

Available ADA Accessible Rooms include King Room with accessible tub and Queen Room with accessible tub or shower.Wheelchair RentalsAnime California has a limited amount of Wheelchairs for rent, please inquire at the information desk for additional details *Please note, that a liability waiver must be signed prior to use of the wheelchair *Rental fees are 15 USD/Day, please be aware that no profit is made, these fees go to maintaining the wheelchairs Wheelchairs are intended to aid those who are physically impaired or injured, and may not be used for any other purpose. If the wheelchair is found to be damaged in any way, vandal-ized, or misused, the attendee will be held responsible for any damages incurred. Services for the Hard of HearingAnime California does offer ASL interpretation upon request for: Panels, Workshops, Main Events and Special Events. Attendees will need to go to the information desk and put in a request for an ASL interpreter for the desired event, and one will be assigned for them. This can also be done with Programming Ops, located on the 2nd floor of the south tower

Additional information on the ADA can be ac-cessed here: http://www.ada.gov/

All weapons and large props must be inspect-ed and approved by our operations or security staff at the convention. We will then “peace mark” them, by affixing a ribbon or mark that indicates we have checked them, and, if nec-essary “peace bond” them by using ribbon or ties to keep your weapon from being drawn or used (for example, by someone who doesn’t know the rules and sneaks up behind you and grabs it). Attendees must realize that it is a privilege to bring large props and weapons to the convention, and everyone must take great care to be careful not to damage things, whack people, or otherwise do anything that seems dangerous. We allow certain specific prop weapons and large prop items, but anything not listed below is not allowed. Please under-stand that due to crowding, space, or safety issues, we may have to change the rules mid-convention at any time.• Guns: Realistic looking guns are only

allowed if they have a very bright, obvious orange tip that shows they are non-work-ing. Guns that actually work, or have the potential to work, or might be mistaken by the public as real, are not allowed. Toy or fantasy guns that are “obviously fake” are allowed.

• Swords: Swords are allowed if they can be tied shut in their sheath, or if they are made of wood or plastic. Swords must never be waved around or wielded, but they can be used for still posing for photo-graphs.

• Bows: Toy, or otherwise wooden or plastic bows can sometimes be okay, but profes-sional or compound bows are not. Equip-ping an arrow to a bow is absolutely never acceptable, even for photos.

• Large Props: Large props are generally okay, if you are extremely mindful of them. However if we find that we have large crowds, or if they become a problem, we may ask you to return them to your hotel room or car at any time. We will not store them for you.

• Dangerous Things: Please keep your extremely dangerous things, like your Class IV lasers and missile launchers, at home. (Of course these examples are fic-tional, but please remember to use some common sense... imagine if someone decides to pick up your missile launcher to find out if it’s real!)

• Pretend Weapons: Anything that is en-tirely obviously a play/pretend weapon that can not be mistaken for something that is actually a real weapon.

Any weapons may be disallowed at any time at the discretion of con staff.

*Peace marking will be in Con Ops, located in the Regal room, on the 1st floor
