Learning Target: I can identify the difference between living and nonliving

things.

Background: This is a continuation lesson from Kindergarten.

● In Kindergarten, students learned to make observations to describe patterns of what plants and animals (including humans) need to survive.

● In first grade, students will learn the difference between living and nonliving things and dive deeper into what those living things need to survive.

● In 2nd grade, students will observe how different amounts of water and light affect the growth of a plant.
