    Drilling Riser

    Connects the subsea BOP to

    rig equipment.

    Provides conduit to run and

    retrieve tools and equipment to

and from wellbore, and the means

to circulate fluids into and out

of the well below a closed BOP

    (choke and kill lines)

    Riser Autofill Valve

Prevents the riser from collapsing under

external pressure in the event of sudden

    mud loss.

    An outer sliding sleeve opens

automatically, allowing sea water to fill

the riser, when the internal pressure ofthe valve falls to 150 p.s.i. less than the

    external pressure.

The valve should be run at least 325

    below the surface.

    Override system permits hydraulic

actuation of the valve from the surface.

    Emergency Riser Disconnect

The emergency riser disconnect can be

run anywhere in the riser above the LMRP

to provide a secondary means to

disconnect the riser from the BOP.

The pul to separate the emergency riser

disconnect is always axial to the

centerline of the riser. Therefore no forces

bind the coupling to keep it from

separating, regardless of how far the

    vessel is off the hole.

    Instrumented Riser Joint

The Instrumented Riser Joint provides ameans for monitoring a number of

    parameters

associated with the ue of deep water riser

    systems.

These parameters are measured by sensors

incorporated into a riser pup joint multi-plexed,

by a subsurface electronics assembly, and

transmitted to the surface using a small

    diameter

armored logging cable. Data is converted at

thesurface to an output signal for readout and/or

    storage.

    Type SDL Riser Support Ring

The Type SDL Riser Tensioner Ring saves

time because the riser tensioner cables are

    never disconnected.

When the riser is pulled the tensioner ring willbe carried up to the bottom of the diverter

housing. Hydraulic latches release the ring

from the slip joint and permit it to be locked

onto the diverter housing using another set

of hydraulic latch dogs. The rest of the riser

    is retrieved through its center.

    Type KT Riser Support Ring

Like the Type SDL Riser Support Ring

the type KT Riser Support ring need

not be disconnected from the riser

    tensioner cables. Additionally the choke

and kill line hoses neen not bedisconnected.

The KT ring locks onto the diverter housing

for storage when not in use.
