PERANCANGAN MESIN PENGERING BIJI KAKAO DENGAN

KAPASITAS 250 KG/JAM

Kakao (Theobroma cacao) merupakan merupakan salah satu komoditas

andalan perkebunan yang memiliki peran penting dalam perekonomian nasional.

Perubahan cuaca di Indonesia bisa dikatakan tidak stabil dan dapat mengganggu

aktivitas para petani kakao dalam hal proses pengeringan, sehingga hal ini

mendorong manusia untuk berinovasi merancang alat. Maka dirancang sebuah

alat pengering biji kakao kapasitas 250 kg/jam.

Dalam merancang alat pengering terlebih dahulu harus diketahui kadar

air biji kakao yaitu sekitar 60%, dan akan diturunkan dalam proses pengeringan

ini menjadi 6-7%. Dalam proses pengeringan matahari (sun drying) diperlukan

waktu sekitar 3-4 hari dengan suhu rata-rata 27oC dengan menggunakan alat

pengering yang dirancang dapat mengurangi waktu pengeringan tersebut

menjadi lebih efisiensi.

Dari perancangan yang telah dilakukan didapatkan dimensi drum

pengering diameter 0,5 meter , panjang 1,8 meter , tebal 3 mm . Dimensi rangka

penyanggah drum panjang 2,2 meter , tinggi 1 meter , lebar 0,6 meter

menggunakan besi hollow 40 mm x 40 mm x 3 mm. Menggunakan motor listrik

dengan daya 2 Hp dengan putaran 2800 rpm.

Cocoa (Theobroma cacao) is one of the plantation pledge commodities

which have an important role in the national economy. Changes of weather in

Indonesia can be told unstable and can bother the activity of the cocoa farmers of

the draining process, so that it encourages people to innovate designing tools.

Hence,designed a dryer cocoa beans capacity of 250 kg / h.

In designing dryer beforehand have to know the cocoa bean moisture

content is about 60%, and will be degraded in the draining process becomes 6-

7%. In the process of draining in the sun (sun draining) it takes about 3-4 days

with an average temperature of 27°C by using designed dryer to reduce the

draining time to be more efficient.

The scheme that has been done obtained dimension dryer drum diameter

of 0.5 meters, long1.8 meters, thick3 mm. Dimensional frame buffer longdrum 2.2

meter, high1 meter, wide0.6 meters using hollow steel 40 mm x 40 mm x 3 mm.

Using an electric motor with power 2 hp at 2800 rpm rotation.
