Only hours after Davis and her Man arrested after school incident Dale W. Estep, 46, of Morehead, was arrested and jailed Monday following an incident at McBrayer Elementary School. Police said Estep allegedly as- saulted his wife, a teacher's aide, about 3 p.m. in a hallway of the school following an apparent ar- gument. He was charged with assault in the fourth degree-domestic vio- lence and later released from jail on bond. The arrest citation said Estep hit his wife and she fell against a door but was not seriously in- jured. MPD officers were near the school directing traffic when the school resource officer called for assistance. Police said Estep had a gun in his truck but is licensed to carry a concealed weapon. Officers do not suspect him of carrying the weapon into the school. Estep is scheduled to appear Sept. 21 in Rowan District Court. A bluegrass music con- cert is the main event hosted by the dialysis clinic staff members who call themselves the Thrill Seekers. The concert is Sunday, Sept. 13, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Debbie's Music Showhouse, 8209 East US 60, in Salt Lick. Money raised from the concert and several other fundraisers will benefit the National Kidney Foundation. There's also walks scheduled in Louisville on Sept. 27 and Lexington Oct. 11,to raise awareness of kidney dis- ease. S. District Judge David Bunning's final word re- garding contempt charges filed against Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis, who continually defied in- struction to issue marriage li- censes in spite of her religious beliefs. Davis said, “thank you, Judge,” as she was escorted by marshals out of the federal courtroom in Ashland. She later was booked at the Carter County Detention Center at Grayson. The contempt charge comes after Davis denied April Miller and Karen Roberts, plaintiffs in a class action civil suit by the ACLU of Kentucky. The couple went to the office to obtain a marriage license after Bunning's stay expired on an in- junction which ordered Davis to begin issuing licenses.
