Jaya Ancol Dream Land

Telaga Warna
The king of a famous kingdom in Cipanas, West Java, was very wise man. He had a beautiful
daughter. The king and queen loved their daughter so much. But all their love was not enough for the
princess. Eventhough they gave her everything, she was not happy. All the jewelries that they had werenot eough for her. She was not satisfied with her gorgeous look either.
The princess then had an idea. She planned to put all the jewelries that they had in every single hair
in her head. She wanted to be the most beautiful girl in the world. So the princess went to see her mother
and father and told them about her plan. She was very sure they would not say no. The king was surprised
to hear about his daughter plan. He tried to convince her that her plan was not proper.
"My Daughter, the beauty of a princess is not measured by her clothes or by the jewelry she is
wearing, but by her attitude. It's not that we don't love you, but what will people think if you go through
with your plan?" said the king.
The princess was shocked to hear that. So she ran to her room to get her jewelry box. Then she returned
to her parents. She screamed: "You are so miserely. Here, I am returning the every single jewelry you ever
gave me."She threw her jewelry box to her father. The wise king was outraged seeing his daughter did.
"You are ungrateful daughter!" Suddenly, the floor of the palace erupted and water poured out from the
crack. In a matter of second the palace flooded, drowning the ungrateful princess and her jewelry. The
palace then turned into a lake.

The poor princess didnt now where to go. However, she had a noble hearth. She didnt have any
bad feeling about her step mother. She walked for almost seven days and seven nights. Then, she
came to the south ocean. The ocean was so clean and clear. She jumped into the water and swam.
Suddenly there was a miracle. The ocean water cured her illness. She became more beautiful than
before. She also had a power to command the whole South Ocean. She became a fairy called Nyi oroKidul or The Queen of South Ocean.

Orangutan means 'forest man' a very suitable name for the largest of the tree dwelling apes;
a large male can weigh 90 kg.
Orangutans live in Sumatra and Kalimantan. They are very gentle animals and live quietly
several meters off the ground. They spend their time moving meal to meal by passing from tree to
tree, swinging rather than jumping, using their long arms to carefully reach out the gaps amongtrees.
It is thought that there are about 150,000 wild orangutans, but only about 20,000 are in
severs and safety protected from danger. The main threat to the orangutan comes from logging
companies, of from people who illegally capture and sell orangutan as pets. The logging companies
exploit the living rain forests for timber but in doing so destroy the environment for orangutans. The
orangutans need dense forest so they can easily move from tree to tree in searching for food. The
destruction of the rain forest could also bring about the extinction of the orangutans. They cannot
