AJI SAKA

Kacarioskeun mangsa baheula. Pulau Jawa masih mangrupa leuweung jeung jarang kasorang ku

manusa. Aya hiji karajaan namina Medang Kamulan anu diparéntah ku hiji raja namina Prabu Dewata

Cengkar anu buringhas sarta resep ngadahar jalmi. Saban dinten, sang raja ngamangsa saurang jalmi anu

dibawa ku Patih Jugul Anom. Kaayaan ieu ngakibatkeun rahayat di nagri Medang Kamulan éstuning hirup

dina kasieun. Nu antukna seueur anu ngungsi ka karajaan sanés pikeun nyalametkeun diri ti Prabu Dewata

Cengkar.

Di hiji lembur Medang kacarioskeun aya saurang nonoman namina Aji Saka anu sakti, purah

tutulung ka sakur jalmi kasusahan. Hiji poé, Aji Saka junun nulungan saurang aki-aki anu nuju disiksa ku

dua begal. Éta aki-aki nungtungna ditulungan, terus dijadikeun bapak angkat ku Aji Saka. Sihoréng eta aki-

aki téh salah saurang pengungsi ti Medang Kamulan.

“Janten aki téh ngahaja ngungsi ti Karajaan Medang Kamulan?” taros Aji Saka ka éta aki-aki.

“Sumuhun, Ujang.... Margi Karajaan Medang Kamulang ayeuna diparéntah ku hiji raksasa anu

ganas tur tukang ngadahar manusa. Ku sabab éta, unggal poé ponggawa karajaan bakal masrahkeun saurang

rahayat, utamina anu geus kolot siga aki pikeun jadi mangsa Prabu....,” saur éta aki-aki nyarioskeun kaayaan

di nagarana.

Ngadangu carios ngeunaan kebuasan Prabu Dewata Cengkar, Aji Saka ngagaduhan niat rék

nulungan rahayat Medang Kamulan. Harita kénéh Aji saka indit ka Medang Kamulang.

Nepi ka Medang Kamulang, Aji Saka nyanghareupan sagala rintangan jeung halangan ti ponggawa

Prabu Dewata Cengkar anu mangrupa-rupa siluman jeung jurig nyili wuri nu aya di sakuriling bungking

leuweung anu kalangkungan. Nepi ka tarung salami tujuh wengi jeung jurig siluman leuweung anu

diliwatanna, kulantaran Aji Saka nampik pikeun dijadikeun budak ku jurig leuweung.

Aji saka anu sakti mandra guna akhirna bisa ngéléhkkeun sakabéh jurig leuweung nepi ka éta jurig

diusir jauh ti éta leuweung. Saatos tarung, Aji Saka neraskeun lalampahanana pikeun nepangan Prabu

Dewata Cengkar di istanana.

Aji Saka nepi di Karajaan Medang Kamulan anu sepi. Di karaton, Prabu Dewata Cengkar nuju

ngamuk kumargi Patih Jugul Anom henteu nyandak korban pikeun kadaharan Sang Prabu.

Ningali kitu, Aji Saka anu pinuh ku kawani, langsung nyanghareupan Sang Prabu.

“Sampurasun Sang Prabu,” saur Aji Saka bari nyembah ka Sang Parbu.

“Rampés.......Haha.....saha andika? Rupana anu kasép ngalémpéréng konéng matak lapar ieu tikoro

aing.....Hahaha...,” Prabu Dewata Cengkar ningali Aji Saka anu keur ngamuk ngadadak eureun. Tikorona

ngadadak lapar ningali Aji Saka di hareupeunna.

“Ampun Sang Prabu, sumangga abdi pasrah sumerah diri badé dikumahakeun.....,” saur Aji Saka.

“Bener andika geus siap jadi kadaharan kula, héh manusa?” Prabu Dewata Cengkar bari niat rék

néwak awak Aji Saka.

Aji Saka nyingcet, bari pok, “Sabar, Sang Prabu! Abdi kersa janten mangsa Sang Prabu, tapi

nuhunkeun sarat!”

“Hahaha..... Sayarat naon waé anu dipikahayang ku andika bakal dikabulkeun ku kaula....

hahaha...,” saur Prabu Dewata Cengkar anu tos teu kiat nahan lapar ningali Aji Saka.

Aji Saka muka sorban anu dipakéna, terus saurna,”saratna sim kuring nuhunkeun imbalan tanah

karajaan salega ieu sorban....Sang Prabu.”

“Tanah karajaan salega éta sorban anu sagedé kutil éta? Teu Masalah..... Ku kula pasti

dikabulkeun...!” Prabu Dewata Cengkar nyakakak seuri nepi dunya asa gempa bumi.

“Ampun Sang Prabu, pami kitu saméméh sim kuring ninggalkeun ieu dunya janten mangsa Sang

Prabu.... Sim Kuring nuhunkeun Sang Prabu nedunan syarat sim kuring kanggo ngukur tanah salega ieu

sorban. Pami tos diukur tur diwatesan.... Sumangga sim kuring nyanggakeun sadaya-daya ka Sang Prabu!”

ucap Aji Saka deui.

“Haha......hayu ayeuna kénéh ku kaula diukurkeun....,” Sang Prabu bari nyandak sorban Aji Saka

pikeun ngukur tanah karajaan.

Barang bray sorban dibuka diamparkeun kanggo ngukur tanah karajaan. Éta sorban terus manjangan

teu eureun-eureun nepi ka panjangna éta sorban ngaleuwihan tanah Karajaan Medang Kamulang. Prabu

Dewata Cengkar kontan ngamuk kulantaran ngukur tanahna teu nepi-nepi. Sabot Prabu Dewata Cengkar

ngamuk, ujug-ujug aya angin pohara gédéna. Nepi ka akhirna éta sorban Aji Saka meulit awak sang Prabu,

nepi ka sakujur awak Sang Prabuk kabeulit éta sorban. Éta sorban estuning meulit ti luhur sirah sang Prabu

nepi ka meulit kadua leungeun jeung tungtung handap sukuna. Antukna Sang Prabu teu bisa kukumaha.

“Auwwww......,” teu lila Sang Prabu gegerung lantaran tikoséwad ka sagara laut kidul anu ombakna

umpal-umpalan. Gejebur.......awak Sang Prabu diteleg ombak gedé tilelep ka laut kidul anu jero pisan, tur

teu katulungan deui.

Kajadian ieu, estuning disambut bagja ku kabéh rahayat Medang Kamulang. Lantaran sadaya

rahayat bébas tina mangsa Sang Prabu. Aji Saka, dinobatkeun ku rahayat pikeun mingpin karajaan.

Diangkat jadi Raja Medang Kamulang. Ti saprak harita Karajaan Medang Kamulang hirup kalayan aman

tur sejahtera.

KUYA JEUNG MONYET NGALA NANGKA

Kacaturkeun... Aya Sakadang Kuya jeng Sakadang Monyet. Eta Kuya jeung monyet teh estuning

nyobat dalit pisan.

Hiji peuting, Sakadang Kuya jeung Sakadang Monyet sararé di sisi leuwi, dina tangkal kiara.

Sakadang Monyét saré dina dahan anu panghandapna. Ari Sakadang Kuya saré dina sela-sela akar kiara.

Henteu pajauh. Maksudna sangkan bisa ngobrol méméh saré. Atawa bisa silihgeuingkeun mun aya nanaon.

Ari dug, ari ker duanana saré tibra.

Tengah peuting, Sakadang Monyét nyaring. Tuluy ngageroan Sakadang Kuya.

“Sakadang Kuya, ieuh, Sakadang Kuya! Hudang sakeudeung!”

“Aya naon Sakadang Monyét?”

“Uing ngimpi manggih tangkal nangka, buahna mani leubeut.”

“Di mana?”

“Di tengah leuweung. Tapi dina impian téh dituduhkeun lebah-lebahna ogé.”

“Keun isukan urang téang. Ayeuna mah urang saré deui wé da peuting kénéh!” ceuk Sakadang

Kuya.

Ngadéngé jawaban kitu, Sakadang Monyét saré deui. Meni dug-ker. Ari Sakadang Kuya mah rada

hésé kana saré deuina téh. Keur kitu, kadéngé Jang Onyé ngalindur. Cenah, “Ah, isukan mah rék ngala

nangka. Diala ku sorangan, da Sakadang Kuya mah teu bisaeun naék. Didahar kabéh ku sorangan, Sakadang

Kuya mah ku uing moal dibéré.”

Ngadéngé kitu, Sakadang Kuya ngahuleng, mikiran caritaan Sakadang Monyét. Tuluy néangan

akal, sangkan teu kalicikan ku Sakadang Monyét. Sanajan lila ulengna, tapi teu burung kapanggih ogé.

Geus kitu mah, reup baé Sakadang Kuya téh saré deui.

Isuk-isuk, wanci carangcang tihang, Sakadang Monyét geus hudang. Jrut turun tina dahan tempat

saréna. Tuluy baé ngaguyah-guyah ngahudangkeun Sakadang Kuya.

“Yeuh, Sakadang Kuya, hudang! Hudang, huy! Hayu urang néang nangka téa!” ceuk Sakadang

Monyét.

Sakadang Kuya hudang, nololkeun sirahna, pok ngomong, “Ké atuh Sakadang Monyét, ayeuna

mah isuk kénéh!”

“Ih, engké mah bisi kaburu diala ku batur!”

“Apal henteu jalanna?”

“Ih, puguh wé, da dina impian téh dituduhkeun lebah-lebahna.”

“Hayu atuh!”

Bring éta dua sobat anyar téh indit ka jero leuweung. Inditna teu bisa gancang, sabab Sakadang

Kuya mah leumpangna boyot. Kira-kira wanci pecat sawed, kakara nepi ka nu dituju. Enya wé, henteu salah

impian Sakadang Monyét téh. Di dinya aya tangkal nangka sagedé beuteung munding. Buahna leubeut

tinggarayot dina dahan-dahanna.

“Sok-sok atuh geura naék, ulah ngahuhuleng baé!” ceuk Sakadang Kuya ka Sakadang Monyét.

“Ké heula, gampang naék mah. Ngan uing téh teu nyaho, kumaha carana ngabédakeun nangka anu

geus asak jeung nangka anu atah kénéh,” ceuk Sakadang Monyét.

Sakadang Kuya seuri leutik ngadéngé omongan Sakadang Monyét kitu téh. Asa manggih jalan

pikeun metakeun akalna, anu meunang mikiran tadi peuting. “Gampang atuh ngabédakeunana mah.

Ditepakan wé. Lamun sorana plék-plék-plék, tandana éta nangka geus asak. Lamun sorana pluk-pluk-pluk,

hartina atah kénéh,” ceuk Sakadang Kuya.

Henteu talangké deui, térékél Sakadang Monyét naék kana tangkal nangka. Gugurayangan. Ceuk

pikirna, “Si Kuya mah rék dibéré anu aratah baé, ari anu arasakna keur uing, rék didahar di luhur ku

sorangan.” Terus nepakan nangka anu ngagarayot. Anu sorana plek-plek-plek dirawatan ku manéhna. Ari

anu sorana pluk-pluk-pluk mah dipuragkeun bari ngajorowok, “Tah, Uya, méré nangka. Pék wé dahar ku

sorangan. Lamun hayang nu asak, naék ka dieu!” cenah.

Sakadang Monyét tuluy ngagorogotan nangka dina luhur tangkal. Leungeunna, sungutna, malah

sukuna ogé pinuh ku geutah. Ari sababna, nangka anu didaharna téh nangka atah. Sakadang Monyét teu

nyahoeun, saenyana nangka asak mah lamun ditepakan téh sorana ngagepluk, lain ngageplék.

“Aha euning Huya, angkra téh atrah,” ceuk Sakadang Monyét, ngomongna teu béntés, lantaran

biwirna rapet ku geutah nangka. Sakadang Kuya teu némbalan.

Ari rét Sakadang Monyét ningali ka handap, katémbong Sakadang Kuya keur ngalimed baé

ngadaharan nangka asak. Karonéng jeung seungit deuih. Malah nangka téh ampir béak, tinggal jaramina

jeung sikina anu balatak di sabudeureunana.

“Tah, aya sanyamplung deui!” ceuk Sakadang Kuya.

Nangka anu sanyamplung téh dicokot ku Sakadang Monyét, tuluy didahar. Enya wé ngeunah, amis

kareueut. Sakadang Monyét gantung teureuyeun. Ménta deui ka Sakadang Kuya, puguh da geus béak.

“Sakadang Kuya mah kawas lain jeung sohib baé!” ceuk Sakadang Monyét bari jamedud. Tuluy

lumpat, térékél naék kana tatangkalan, indit ninggalkeun Sakadang Kuya. Sakadang Monyét téh pundung

tayohna mah.

Sanggeus kitu mah, Sakadang Kuya ogé balik deui ka tempat asalna. Leumpangna beuki ngadédod

baé, lantaran beuteungna seubeuh teuing ku nangka.

LUTUNG KASARUNG

Kacaturkeun di nagara Pasir Batang, Prabu Tapa Ageung ti praméswari Niti Suwari kagungan

putra tujuh, istri wungkul. Nu kahiji kakasihna Purbararang, nu kadua Purbaéndah, nu katilu Purbadéwata,

nu kaopat Purbakancana, nu kalima Purbamanik, nu kagenep Purbaleuwih jeung nu katujuh Purbasari.

Ngaraos parantos sepuh, Prabu Tapa Ageung ngersakeun ngabagawan, badé tatapa di leuweung.

Nu dicadangkeun ngagentos ngeuyeuk dayeuh ngolah nagara téh lain Purbararang putra cikal, tapi

bet Purbasari, putra bungsu.

Atuh munasabah baé, Purbararang asa kaunghak. Amarahna teu katahan, asa dihina asa ditincak

Kacaturkeun di Kahiangan, Guruminda, putra déwata cikalna, titisan Guriang Tunggal, ngimpén

gaduh garwa anu sarupa jeung Sunan Ambu. Saur Sunan Ambu, “Jung, geura boro pijodoeun hidep. Aya

nu sakarupa jeung Ambu. Tapi…ulah torojogan, anggo heula ieu raksukan…lutung!”

Janggélék Guruminda minda rupa jadi lutung, katelah Lutung Kasarung.

Kocap deui di nagara Pasir Batang. Prabu Tapa Ageung ngersakeun hayang tuang daging lutung.

Nya nimbalan Léngsér kudu mentés Aki Panyumpit ngala lutung ka leuweung.

Aki Panyumpit gasik ngasruk leuweung néangan lutung. Tapi dadak sakala, leuweung jadi sepi

taya sasatoan. Bororaah sato kayaning peucang jeung lutung, sireum ogé taya nu ngarayap cék

wiwilanganana mah.

Aki Panyumpit téh méh pegat pangharepan. Barang rék mulang, dina tangkal peundeuy bet

kabeneran manggih lutung keur guguntayangan. Ari rék disumpit, celengkeung téh lutung nyoara: “Éh,

Aki, bet kaniaya. Ulah disumpit! Kuring téh rék ngaku bapa pulung ka Aki. Hayang betah di dunya, hayang

nyaho anu dingaranan karaton.”

“Sukur atuh, sok geura turun,” walon Aki Panumpit bengong, aya lutung bisa ngomong.

Singhoréng Lutung Kasarung téa. Déwata minda rupa turun ka dunya.

Lutung Kasarung dibawa ku Aki Panyumpit, dihaturkeun ka karaton. Tapi barang rék dipeuncit,

taya pakarang nu teurak. Sang Lutung teu bisa dirogahala. Tungtungna mah, saur Ratu, “Léngsér

pasrahkeun baé ka anak kami, sugan butuh keur pibujangeun.”

Nya atuh ku Léngsér dipasrahkeun ka Purbararang. Ari walonna téh bet: “Daék sotéh

ngabujangkeun, lamun jalma nu utama. Mun lalaki turunan mantri, ari lutung mah sangeuk teuing!”

Deregdeg léngsér ka putra nu kadua, teu ditampa. Ka anu katilu, nya kitu kénéh. Pajarkeun téh, lain teu

hayang nampa, ngan sieun ku Si Tétéh.

Léngsér mulang deui ka Purbararang, pokna téh,” Nya sok baé atuh, bisi pajar nampik pasihan

rama.”

Lutung kasarung tetep di karaton. Belenyeng lumpat ngintip para mojang nu lalenjang keur

ngagembrang ninun.

Keur jarongjong ninun, ari koloprak téh taropong Purbararang moncor ka kolong balé.

“Cing Adi, pangnyokotkeun taropong!”

“Ih, Tétéh, apan boga bujang lutung,” Cék Purbaleuwih.

anteurkeun Si Lutung ka Si Purbasari di leuweung!”

Jut Léngsér turun, Lutung unggeuk, tuluy nuturkeun. Lutung Kasarung ditampa ku Purbasari.

“Éh Mama Léngsér, geunig Si Tétéh aya kénéh adilna. Kajeun lutung, tamba suwung. Kajeun

hideung, tamba keueung nu di leuweung. Kajeun goréng, tamba jempé nu nyorangan. Hatur nuhun béjakeun

ka Si Tétéh.”

Purbasari ngadeg ratu di Pasirbatang, jadi praméswari Guruminda. Ari Purbararang jeung

b. Peserta boleh memakai kostum dan menyiapkan property sesuai cerita

c. Peserta menyerahkan teks story telling pada saat daftar ulang (rangkap 4)

d. Peserta TIDAK AKTING seperti sedang bermain drama tetapi tampil seperti seorang story teller yang

menceritakan sebuah cerita

e. Waktu 5 menit dengan toleransi 1 menit. Jadi maksimal waktu tampil 6 menit. Dan ada pengurangan poin jika

lebih dari 6 menit.

f. Kriteria penilaian: pronunciation, intonation, fluency, performance (gesture seorang story teller, eye contact,

ekspresi/mimik)

3. Spelling Bee Contest akan dilaksanakan Kamis, 17 Oktober 2019, ketentuan:

a. Lomba ini dibagi dalam 2 group: Group A (kelas 1-3), Group B (kelas 4-6)

b. The materials for Spelling Bee

The word category for Group A: Colours, Shapes, Numbers, Days and Months, Animals, Fruits, Vegetables,

TEKS READING CONTEST

A BRAVE BOY

Early one morning, Umar was walking to the bus stop to catch a bus to school. A loud, screeching noise

suddenly pierced the air. Umar realized that there had been accident. A small boy was lying unconscious on the road

and the car that had hit him has already run away.

Umar was confused and frightened. “Is the boy dead?” Umar asked himself. However, the boy was still

breathing. Umar could see that the boy had bruises all over his face and arms.Umar did not know what to do. Few

cars passed along this road at this time of the day. The nearest house which he could go to for help was his own, but

it would take ten minutes to walk there. Umar finally decided to stay with the boy until somebody came by.

Time passed very slowly – so it seemed to Umar. The boy was still unconscious and Umar prayed for the

boy to regain consciousness. Umar sprang to his feet at the sound of an approaching car. He waved frantically at the

driver to stop. Umar asked the driver, “You will help this boy, won’t you, sir?” The driver was kind. He carried the

injured boy to the car. Umar went with them to the hospital. Later, the driver took Umar to the police station to report

the accident.

Umar had a lot to tell to his friends that day at school. All his friends thought Umar was a very brave boy.

“It was an unforgettable incident, wasn’t it?” they asked him.“Yes, it was.” Umar replied. “It was a terrifying

experience, though!”

I DARE GO TO THE DOCTOR

“MEOWWW…! Mio wants to play with Saliha. But Saliha is moody. “Saliha, what’s wrong, Dear? Why

are you moody, heh?” asked mother. “I have a toothache, Mum,” answered Saliha. “Waaah…, there must be germs

in your teeth,” said mother. “Let’s go to the doctor, come on!” “No, I don’t want to! I’m afraid of the doctor,” said

Saliha. “Why are you afraid? The doctor is kind. He will clean the germs from your teeth, Saliha,” answered mother.

“Will he clean the germs by using an injection, Mum?” asked Saliha. “Now, there are many medicines. So, they don’t

always have to use injections!” said mother.

Saliha and mother arrived at the clinic of Doctor Amanda. “I’m scared, Mum…!” said Saliha quietly.

“MEOWWW…” Mio ran into the surgery room. “Mio wants to be examined, see!” persuaded mother. “Of course I

will stay with you, Saliha.” Finally, Saliha went into the surgery room. “Now, climb into the astronaut’s chair, ok,”

said Doctor Amanda, as she began examining Saliha. Saliha nodded, then she laid back. Hihihi…the chair can be

raised! “Waaah…, there is a hole! Germs like to stay in teeth with holes, you know!” said Doctor. “I will clean out

the germs for you, ok.” Then, Doctor Amanda began cleaning Saliha’s teeth.

After the examination. “Saliha, you must take this medicine to stop the germs from returning. And you must

brush your teeth regularly, ok!” said Doctor Amanda. Saliha and mother are back home. “The doctor was kind, wasn’t

she, Mum?” said Saliha happily. Then Saliha took the medicine. “Hey, Germs! Leave my teeth!” said Saliha. Mother

smiled proudly. Waaah, isn’t it great? Now, Saliha is not afraid to go to the doctor and take medicine anymore.

I LIKE GOING AROUND TOWN

This Sunday is a bright day. Mother is taking Saliha out. Saliha and Mother got on the city bus.

“Bismillaahirrahmaanirrahiim! Hup!” Saliha and Mother lifted their right feet first. Saliha sat next to the window.

“Mum, look! The trees outside are running!” said Saliha. “Saliha, my dear! Don’t put your hand outside!” said Mother.

“It will get hit by a car.” “Hit? Ouch …, that will hurt, won’t it, Mum?” Immediately, Saliha pulled her hand inside.

Mother said, the window can stay open. “Aaaah ….” Saliha enjoyed the cool breeze.

Then, the city bus stopped. “Hup!” Mother lifted her left foot. “Hup!” Oh … oh … oh!” said Saliha, who almost

fell over. Fortunately, Mother hugged Saliha. “If you lift your left foot first, you definitely won’t fall,” said Mother.

“Mum, let’s go there, come on!” urged Saliha. “Hey, one minute. When the cars have stopped, then we can cross,” said

Mother. Then the traffic lights changed. The cars stopped. “Come on, Mum! Let’s cross!” said Saliha impatiently.

Mother took Saliha into the supermarket. They went up the escalator. “Saliha, don’t run!” called Mother. “We

should stand still on the escalator so that we can keep our balance. That way, our bodies won’t fall. Saliha enjoyed

looking at the toys. Without realizing it, Saliha got separated from Mother. “Oh, no! Where is Mum? How did I get

lost?” said Saliha. “Miss, have you seen my mother?” Saliha asked the shop assistant. “Your mother? No!” Then, the

shop assistant took Saliha to the information desk.

“For the mother who has lost her daughter named Saliha, we are waiting at the information stand!” The shop

assistant called Mother several times. In a short while, Mother came. “Salihaaa…!” Mother hugged Saliha tightly.

Saliha was so happy to see her Mother again. Saliha promised that she would never stray from her mother again.

I LOVE MY FRIENDS

Sali and his friends are learning to draw. “Oh, no, I left my coloured pencils behind,” said Iwan. “Sali, can I borrow

your coloured pencils? Asked Iwan. “No, you, can’t!” answered Sali. “Use my coloured pencils, wan!” said Siti.

“Thank you, said iwan happily. Siti realized she had left her eraser at home. “Sali, can I borrow your eraser,

please…!” said Siti. “No!” said Sali. “Oh…Sali is so mean!” said Siti unhappily. ‘So what?”Sali said. “You can use

my eraser!” said Iwan as he passed his eraser to Siti. “Thank you, Wan. You are so kind!” said Siti happily.

The drawing lesson had finished. Some of the children were playing in the playground. Sali, Siti, and Iwan opened

up their snack boxes. They would eat their lunch together at the side of the playground. But then, suddenly… Crash!!!

By accident, Sali’s sandwich fell when it was hit by a ball. “Oh, no, I can’t eat it now!” said Sali disappointed. Iwan

and Siti felt sorry for him.

‘This is for you,” said Siti, as she gave Sali a piece of bread. “I still have lots of milk left. Do you want some, Sali?”

said Iwan. Sali nodded. Sali was embarrassed by Iwan’s and Siti’s kindness. Especially, because in the class earlier,

Sali did not lend his eraser and coloured pencils to them.

“Tiiid…tiiid…tiid! The car horn blared. Siti’s father came to pick her up. “Sali, Iwan, let’s go home together, come

on!” urged Siti. Finally, Sali went home with Iwan and Siti. Since then, Sali promised to be kinder to his friends.

I LOVE SAVING

Mother took Saliha to the bookstore. “I want the book with animal pictures, Mum!” said Saliha. “The books are

really good. Mmmm …, but they are so expensive, Saliha. Now, I don’t have enough money to buy one,” said Mother

smiling. “If you want to have that book, why don’t we start saving for it first?” suggested Mother. “We start saving?”

asked Saliha. “Yes, Dear. To collect our money,” said Mother. “Good, I want to save a lot!” said Saliha. Then, Mother

bought Saliha a frog money box. The hole for the money was through the frog’s mouth.

“Thank you, Mum! I really like the frog!” Saliha and Mio jumped around happily. “If you save regularly, you can

buy that book on your next birthday,” said Mother. “I promise, I’ll save regularly, Mum!” Saliha shouted

enthusiastically. The next day, Mother gave Saliha some coins. “This is for your savings, ok …”, said Mother. Saliha

was very happy. Suddenly, Sali came carrying some chocolates. Saliha wants to eat the same chocolate as Sali has.

“Saliha wants to buy some chocolates too, aaah …!” said Saliha. “MEOWWW!” Mio protested. “It’s alright, Mio.

Tomorrow Saliha will save more,” said Saliha. But, Saliha continues to buy snacks every day.

“Hey, what’s this, Frog is so light?” asked Mother. “Where is the money I gave you, Saliha?” “I used the money

for snacks, Mum. Because, there are lots of good food at the stall,” answered Saliha. “Oh, Saliha, poor Frog,” said

Mother. “Frog’s stomach is hungry because you don’t feed it. Meanwhile, you eat snacks every day.” Saliha was sad.

“Forgive me, Frog!” Starting from now, I will feed you,” said Saliha while hugging her frog money box.

In the late afternoon, Mother took Saliha to the bookstore. “Look, Saliha! There is only one book left,” said

Mother. “If you don’t save regularly, you cannot buy this book,” said Mother. “The book will soon be gone, you

know!” from that day, Saliha saved regularly. “Eat a lot, ok, Frog! So that you get fat,” said Saliha. Then one day,

the frog was full and heavy. “Bismillah!” CRASH! The frog was smashed open. “Alhamdulillah! I have lots of

money!” shouted Saliha. “Look, Mio! I have lots of money! I can buy the book!” That same afternoon, Mother took

Saliha to the bookstore. Alhamdulillah … Finally, the book became Saliha’s book.
