The aim of this project was to design the internal stairs of a museum which connected three rooms. The result is an orthogonal staircase composed of long thin plinths which come together to bring depth to the stair, creating steps and railings with each variation. The gap between elements allows indirect light to penetrate and confers lightness and transparency to the space.

The proposal for this project was to design a community library located in a plot between to preexisting buildings. This was taken as an opportunity to leave one of these brick facades exposed, serving as an internal veneer for the library. The rest of the library is focused on a central void with smooth curves, and a staircase that hangs from steel cables.

The idea of this project was to design a functional structure for an open market in the South End, Boston. The result was a series of cladded steel trusses joined in an arched zig-zag shape, which rest upon steel arches. The geometry of the shell allows four entries: two at each end, and one in each side, where the trusses fold back like a curtain. In certain locations, the cladding disappears to let light come in.
Collaborators: Maria Perez & William Fox.

The scenario for this project was a residential neighborhood with irregular topography. The objective was to design two single family homes, which in this case share outdoor spaces and acces from the street, unied through thier diagonal geometries. Their internal organization is based on free plan, with glass walls facing south to allow light in.

This project sought to accomodate a community fitness center in a plot in China Town, Boston. Its main features are the three pools: olympic, diving, and training. The irregular urban fabric was incorporated into the design, serving as the basis for the building’s sharp geometry. The structure is raised on three legs, which converge at the top, leaving a central void which lets light into the building, as well as the courtyard at the botttom.

This project is a mixed used block which includes residential and commercial elements in its program, but focuses mainly in a performance arts school. There are four defined wings that respond to the program in the school: administrative, academic, a theater, and a common zone. This building has glass blocks between each wing that allow light in and act as connecting hallways. At the same time, each zone has a thick envelope bending in one direction, which create a contrast against the lightness of the glass blocks. The four wings shift slightly, creating entries through the sides, and a continuous flow on the inside.
