(Personal Narrative) I. Tujuan Pembelajaran:

Siswa dapat:

1. Mengembangkan imajinasi berpikir melalui personal story

2. Memahami narrative text

3. Membuat personal narrative text dengan struktur dan ciri kebahasaan teks yang benar

II. Persiapan:

1. Guru mempersiapkan materi dan mengirimkannya ke google drive sehingga siswa dapat

mengaksesnya.

2. Guru menyiapkan outline

3. Guru menyiapkan rubrik penilaian

4. Meminta siswa untuk bergabung di Zoom meeting

III. Langkah-langkah Pembelajaran

A. Pembukaan

1. Memastikan siswa terakses dengan internet

2. Meminta siswa mengakses materi di Google Drive sebelum bergabung di Zoom meeting

3. Memberikan beberapa aturan selama Zoom meeting berlangsung seperti:

1. Meminta siswa mempersiapkan buku dan pena untuk mencatat hal-hal yang dirasa

penting.

2. Memastikan Mute speaker agar tidak mengganggu kecuali diminta guru untuk

menjawab pertanyaan.

3. “Raise hand” apabila ada yang dinyatakan atau boleh menuliskan di dalam kolom

chat

4. Siswa yang tidak dituntuk untuk menjawab pertanyaan dipersilahkan menulis

jawaban di kolom chat.

5. Zoom meeting hanya berlangsung selama 45 menit

6. Siswa dapat menghubungi guru apabila ada kendala di nomor whats app.

B. Kegiatan Inti

1. Membagikan slide cara menulis personal narrative text kepada siswa selama zoom

meeting

2. Membuka sesi tanya jawab tentang penjelasan Personal narrative text dan tentang

tugas siswa.

C. Kegiatan Penutup

1. Feedback

2. Meminta siswa membaca kembali PPT penjelasan tentang narrative text di google

drive

3. Meminta siswa mengumpulkan tugasnya minggu berikutnya di google drive

4. Meminta siswa mengakses sumber belajar lain untuk menolong mereka menulis

personal narrative text

The process for teaching narrative writing can

be exactly the same for writing personal

narratives or short stories;

THE STRUCTURE OF A NARRATIVE TEXT

IN A SIMPLE WAY, THE STRUCTURE OF NARRATIVE TEXT IS

# Orientation : It is about the opening paragraph

where the characters of the story are introduced.

# Complication : Where the problems in the story

developed.

# Resolution : Where the problems in the story is

solved.

# Coda / reorientation (optional) – lesson from the

story

LANGUAGE FEATURE OF NARRATIVE TEXT:– Past tense (went, studied, made, remembered)

– Adverb of time (Once upon a time, one day, etc)

– Time conjunction (when, then, suddenly, etc)

– Specific character. The character of the story is specific, not general. (Maria, Sean, Vicky)

– Action verbs. A verb that shows an action. (took, hit, wrote)

– Direct speech. It is to make the story lively. (Maria said, ”We have to end this”). The direct

speech uses present tense.

The outline

1. The engaging Title Make it refer to a person, thing, place or event

Add dots, exclamation or question mark to it to make it sound more dramatic

2. Decide

What happened?

Where it happened?

When it happened?

How it happened?

Why it happened?

How it ended?

3. Remember

- Use a variety of sophisticated adjectives, adverbs and verbs to describe reactions, senses,

emotions, atmosphere and action in the story

- Use narrative tenses and structures i.e. Past Simple, Past Continuous, Past Perfect, would, used

to do, to remember doing something, Direct and Indirect Speech, etc.

- Describe the events in chronological order or using flashback narration
