Godly Jealous

He had an earnest, cautious, anxious concern for their holiness, that the Lord Jesus might be honored in their lives.

Jealous simply means that we are diligent to protect what we have.

God’s jealousy serves to guarantee His people’s ultimate deliverance and security, even during the harsh discipline the Israelites had to endure from time to time.

God is very jealous of his Deity in the hearts of his own people.

God’s jealousy over us should make us feel secure, protected and deeply loved.

Jealous God God’s reaction to their unfaithfulness was a

broken heart. He would become angry with his people but

from his side never broke his covenant. He always grieved and then sought a path back

to the love bond between himself and his people.

His jealousy was rooted in his passionate love.  He is the Creator, the Owner of our life He hates sin and is unwilling to tolerate the

presence of false gods among his people
