Trusting JesusChristianity Basics

By: SamanthaJune 27, 2015

In the summer of 2006, I became a Christian. I gained a faith that changed my life forever…

I was blind, but then I saw. I trusted Jesus.

What does it mean to trust Jesus? Why should we trust Jesus?

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son. That whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

Man has missed the mark of God’s standard of perfection.

Have you ever been hurt by someone? Have you ever even hurt someone yourself?

The Bible says, “None is righteous, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10)

Sometimes our sins are even unspeakably bad…

That’s just human.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

Our sins rightfully deserve a consequence.

“For the wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23) – death means eternal separation from God

How do we make sense of the hurt from others? How do we make sense of our own failures? More so, how can these failures be reconciled?

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

God’s love is infinite. No sin is beyond repair!

“For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners” – Jesus (Matthew 9:13)

Our sins were justified when Jesus died on the cross.

All we need to do is to trust Him to receive that gift of justification and freedom.

This trust is like standing on an unshakeable rock.

Do you trust that Jesus died for you and paid all your sins on the cross?

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Would you like to trust Jesus?

Who is Jesus?

Jesus is Lord and Savior. He is God’s only Son. He died on the cross for our sins, and on the third day He rose again.

To Him be all the glory!
