Online competition concluded on the birth anniversary of Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose Pioneer
Scientist by the Department of Physics in the Science College Durg on 30 November 2020. Sir
Jagdish Chandra Bose's birthday was celebrated on 30.11.2020 by the Physics Department under
the aegis of IQAC by Government Viswanath Yadav Tamaskar Postgraduate Autonomous College,
Durg.
In this competition held at graduation level, 298 students from B.Sc first year, 210 from second year
and 102 students from last year participated. Top five students from Science College participated.
From the first year to the top five students from Science College, Kashish Gupta, Aman Preeti,
Upasana Delhiwar, Sourav Mazumdar, Tameshwari, Om Prakash, Tilak, Pratibha, Bhavesh Kumar
from second year and Lucky, Abhishek, Mansi Yadu from second year. And be blessed. Gaurav
Paratte, Deep Chaihan, Neha Chandel from the first year of Government Aadarsha Mahavidyalaya,
Durg, and Rajnandani, Harsha Janghel and Khileshwari from the second year was successful in
making their place in the top.

PowerPoint and Speech Competition on the occasion of Ozone Day Celebration
on 16 September
The Department of Physics celebrated World Ozone Day (16 September 2021) to spread
awareness among the students about how crucial the ozone shield is for life on Earth, its gradual
depletion and the need to search for possible solutions to preserve it. Kajal Rajput, Gopal Pali,
Sevan Kumar, Tikendra Kumar made posters, Abhinav Singh delivered a speech while Dharmistha
Nareti gave a powerpoint presentation.

STUDENTS PARTICIPATION IN SCIENCE DAY PROGRAM
On the Occasion of National Science Day , Durg University organized a series of competition
including Essay ,Presentation , Quiz competition in which students from 128 colleges with more than
100+ colleges participated where Pratiksha Tiwari of M.Sc. final and Samta Salecha of M.Sc.
previous of Physics Department participated in the Essay Competition and PowerPoint Presentation
Competition where more than 100+ participants wrote it and presented on the topic “ Women In
Science “ .
The essay competition was particularly judged by the Vice Chancellor of Durg University where
Pratiksha Tiwari secured second position and Samta Salecha with her presentation secured first
position felicitated with a certificate and prizes by the Vice Chancellor of Durg University and
Dr.Mudit Kumar Singh director of CGCOST as this competition were catalyzed by Government of
India ( GOI ) .

2019
On the occasion of Sir CV Raman birthday was celebrated by PG students of Physics Department
on 07 November 2019. Secretary of Physics Society Mr. Laxmi Prasad Mishra represented the
achievements, Prize and CV Raman’s life by a movie clip. Miss Samta Salecha and Mr. Akarshit
Barnwal gave lecture on CV Raman’s life.
Participation of Pratiksha Tiwari and Got many prizes
• The oldest and one of the most prestigious 46th Kamalnayan Bajaj All India Elocution
Competition, 2020 was organized by Shiksha Mandal, Wardha on 22 and 23 January. The topic
of the Elocution Competition was “Individual and Society . Students from all over the
prestigious universities of India participated.
• It was a Two days program including Wardha tour for students showing them Bapukuti,
Sevagram, Hindi Vishawavidyalaya etc. And a cultural event. It was a matter of pride for
Govt.V.Y.T.P.G. Autonomous College, Durg that M.Sc. 4th semester student Pratiksha
Tiwari participated and got Special Recognition, Certificate and a momento at the National level
. Principal, professors and all of department appreciated and expressed their pride towards
college’s representation.
• She also represented Science College , Durg in the debate competition organized by Chhattisgarh
Council of Science and Technology with National Council of Science and Technology , New
Delhi and secured first position with memento and certificate.
• National Trilingual Elocution competition organised by LAFZ : Indian Speakers forum in which
28 states participated including 80+ participants from overall India in which Pratiksha Tiwari of
Govt.V.Y.T. P.G. Autonomous College, Durg studying M.Sc. Physics got Second Runner up.
Judges were Dr. Ashima Saurabh Dixit, IRS Commissioner, an eminent speaker and Satyam
Samrat Acharya, Sociology faculty in Devi Ahilaya Bai University and An eminent Public
Speaker of our country.
• There yet another Competition conducted by Readers Point WordPress where M.Sc. 4th semester
student Pratiksha Tiwari gave presentation on “Dowry System articulated in terms of feminism".
This competition has been conducted by Word Press Readers Point on 27 April, 2020 which was
an online competition powered by The Underground Poets.

Clean India Movement 05.07.2018 by UG and PG Students
The campaign of clean India movement is the biggest step taken ever cleanliness drive
till date. The aim of this campaign was to make common public aware about it. UG and
PG Students gave some basic sanitation facilities to each and every village peoples.
World Aids Day 01.12.2018 Celebration
UG students were participated in rally to make public aware of HIV/AIDS under NSS and Red Cross on
the occasion of World Aids Day. The rally started around 11.00 am from Govt. VYTPG College Durg
and concluded at Malwiya Chowk Durg.

On 25 January to ensure a responsive and accountable Govt. VYTPG College Durg
has decided to conduct a Voters Awareness Program. The motive of this program
to create voting in common people with the significance to encourage more young

and physics department. Ozone layer very important to us, so it is necessary for us to aware about this

International year of Periodic Table (2019-20)
On the occasioning International Year of Periodic Table 2019, Live Periodic Table was made by
students of Chemistry department. PG students also actively participated in various competitions
organized by Department.
The United Nations has designated 2019 as the international year of the periodic table of chemical
elements. By accounting this fact DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY of GOVT. V.Y.T. PG AUTO
COLLEGE, DURG has organized one day celebration of IYPT and the centre of attraction of that
celebration was the formation of human periodic table by the students of M.Sc. Chemistry and B.Sc.
chemistry aiming to learn and gain complete knowledge about periodic table.

To spread awareness about the depletion on ozone layer, the department of chemistry of
GOVT. V.Y.T.PG Autonomous College, Durg celebrated the world ozone day on 16th of
September 2017. The students of M.Sc. previous and final were actively participated in
various competitions like painting, speech and short video making competition organized
by the department. Swati from M.Sc. final made painting/ drawing on the subject Ozone
and tried to show the current condition of ozone layer, where from M.Sc. final give
message of Save the environment. Some students also gave speech in this topic. At the end
our head of the department Dr Anupana Asthana reminds us that ozone is crucial for our
life on earth and we must continue to protect the ozone layer for our future generations
also.
Speech by the Student on the occasion of Mole Day Celebration
“Mole day” has been celebrated on 23rd October 2021 in seminar hall, department of Chemistry. Students
of M.Sc. previous and final were actively participated and presented lecture and prepared posters on topics
related to mole day. All professors of department of chemistry were present, Dr. Ajai Kumar Pillai and Dr.
Sunitha B. Mathew talk on the importance and significance of mole in Chemistry as well as in other
subjects.
Awareness Programme (2019-20) by Chemical society
An awareness programme related to environment protection awareness with the help of dance,
drama and posters, conducted by Chemical society of college at Govt. Hr Sec School, Belodi Village.
Villagers and school students were attended this programme and got benefited.
Keeping today's Society of prejudice in mind,the chemistry department of Government V.Y.T. PG autonomous
college Durg,to eradicate societal Prejudice and orthodox Thinking had organised an awareness program pointing
and focusing on heated topic like "Beti Bachao beti padhao and Nasha Mukti Abhiyan".

World ozone day was celebrated on 16-9-16. This program was jointly organized by chemistry and
physics department. Ozone layer very important to us, so it is necessary for us to aware about this

Swachhata Abhiyan by PG Students (2018-19)
The PG students of Chemistry department along with other departments of the college participated
actively in "Swachhata Abhiyan" on oct-18 at Thanod.Village through rally, posters, slogan. Villagers
were provided awareness about cleanliness and healthy environment.
Awareness Program by PG Students (2018-19)
An awareness program related to prevention of Dengue Fever disease was conducted by the
Chemistry department Students in January 2019 in and around Raipur Naka area. Local residents were
provided information regarding precautions to be taken and to pull out stagnant water from coolers.
Social work (2018-19)
Under the umbrella of social work, students and staff members of Chemistry department were
actively participated in the campaign "Thoda hai Thode Ki Jarural hai". Under this campaign Students
distributed clothes woolens to the needy people. In addition to this, Gifts and other useful items were
distributed in the Hosted of the Collage on the occasion of New Year.
Plantation Drive & Swachhata Abhiyan in College (2018-19)
In association with NSS unit of the College, students of Chemistry department actively participated
in plantation Drive and cleanliness campaign. Organized in the College Awaress Posters were also posted
in the prominent place in the college premises.
Power Point Presentation on The Occasion of World Ozone Day (2019-20) World Ozone Day was celebrated on 16-9-2019 by the faculty members and students of Chemistry
Department. During this celebration useful information regarding ozone layer was given through Power
Point Presentation, Poster. Students of the Chemistry Department also expressed their views on ozone
layer depletion.
The World Ozone Day was organized by the Chemical Society and Physics Society. The purpose of this event was
to be aware of keeping the balance of nature in order to preserve the ozone layer. Ozone acts as an umbrella for the
Earth. If the ozone layer is healthy, the earth is also healthy. Today, our activity and modern lifestyle has become
distinct to the ozone umbrella, which is causing atrocities in the earth's environment. Hence its conservation is
necessary. Chemistry, physics and geology students and teachers participated in the program. MSc students gave
fascinating and important information about ozone through PowerPoint and Poster Presentations. While doing the
importance of ozone layer and keeping it safe, it was said that if the ozone layer gets sick, our future will become
miserable.Finally, an oath was taken to create awareness about the protection of ozone along with environmental
protection.

On the occasion of 150th Jayanti of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi was celebrated by students and
staff members on 2nd October 2019. PG Students of Chemistry department participated in cleanliness drive
organized in the college particularly in the areas like chemistry department, Garden and Playground etc.

National Mathematics Day is celebrated this year on 22nd December on online mode in the memory of
great mathematician Srinivas Ramanuja. In order to achieve the vision and mission of the department we

International Women’s Day Celebration
Every year mathematics department is celebrated International Women’s Day. This celebration is stared in
2015, it is seen that in our department the number of girl candidate is more then 60. To discuss the
problem of social life the lady teachers of the department started this program and it is going on fruitfully.
The topic of the program is very interesting. In 2018 the topic was “Samaj Main Mahilaon ki Sthiti aur
Sahbhagita”, in 2019- “Faishon Main Mujhe Rehne Do”. In 2020 due to COVID19 this program was
not held, in 2021 the program is celebrated in online mode and collaborated with MOU Institute of
Excellence in higher education (IEHE), BHOPAL, Govt. PG. Madhav Science College, Ujjain and
Bastar University. The topic was conversation in “Saari Pabandiya Mujh Par Kyun”.

11 july 2021 & 12 july 2021. To spread awareness among student , About the growing population and its

At the beginning of the programme Dr Ranjana shrivastava ,Head of department ,Botany address the
session, and highlighted importance of public speaking to students ,about science and awareness.
Students of MSc.Botany present their short views about the concern problem of population explosion, and
also suggest collective efforts to combat this global problem.
Students also present their short views on importance of simplicity in life and away to live simple life. At

● Aim – To aware students about the importance of education.
● Objective – create awareness among the people about education.
A slogan writing competition was organized by the department of botany on 11
November 2020 on the occasion of National Education Day. All the students of MSc.
had participated in the competition . All the students were quite enthusiastic about
preparing the slogans with vivid ideas . By organizing that type of activities
students engage themselves in more artistic activities and create awareness about the
need for education.
● Outcome - The students displayed their artistic skills through slogans on the given
topic. The aim of this competition was not merely to see the creative aspect but also
to trigger the thought process of the students .

Green campus initiatives include
Clean Campus Initiatives
Generating mass awareness on cleanliness and hygiene amongst students
and staff members by holding regular cleanliness drives. The broad vision
is as follows:
Activities under ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ was the key component of all the
community work done by Zoological Society volunteers of the department.
Staff Members encouraged the students to participate in the cleanliness drive in the college
campus.
Rallies on themes connected with ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ in and around the college
campus were conducted to create mass awareness.
Landscaping Initiatives
Green landscaping with trees and plants -
Our department has limited space for landscaping, however, in the available
space; we have taken efforts to maximize the area under tree plantation.
We have made tree plantations. We organized many co-curricular and extra
curricular programs for environment conservation.

Along with the visit of Vidhan Sabha for real experiential learning of parliamentary
democracy , the department conducts youth parliament event on a regular basis . On 22nd
Feb 2020 department organised youth parliament program. Students of UG and PG
participated in the program along with students from science and commerce faculty as well
under the parliamentary literacy programme of the department.

QUIT INDIA MOVEMENT – COMMEMORATIVE PROGRAMME
To commemorate 75th year of Quit India Movement, the Department of
History organized programs at various levels in the month of August 2017.To
aware the students from different phases of Indian National movement, a multi
choice objective question test was organized for college students on 5th August
2017.More than ninety students participated in test. On 8th August 2017, essay
competition on Quit India Movement for Post- Graduate students of History
department was held.
At district level, debate competition for colleges and schools children was
organized on 9th August 2017. Students of more than sixteen schools and seven
colleges participated in the debate. Dr. K.K.Agrawal, Professor of History,
Government College, Bhilai 3, Dr. Suchitra Sharma, professor of Sociology &
Dr. Mercy George was judges of the event. At the end of the function, medals
and prizes were given to winners of each event.

The Department of History celebrated the Constitution Day on 26 November
2021. The faculty members as well as 20 PG students of the department
expressed their views on constitution making process as well as salient features
of Indian constitution.

Parakram Diwas- 125 Birth Anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose
The Department of History celebrated 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash
Chandra Bose as ‘Parakram Diwas through online mode on 23 January 2021.
Faculty members and about 35 students of the department joined the
programme. The chief guest of the programme, Dr. R. N. Singh, Principal of the
college addressed the programme. Faculty members as well as a large number
of students expressed their views on life and contribution of Netaji in the
National Movement.
Department of History Mahatma Gandhi Birth Anniversary
The Department of History celebrated 152 birth anniversary of Mahatma
Gandhi. About 23 students of UG & PG actively participated in the
programme and many students expressed their views on movements led
by Mahatma Gandhi in India as well as South Africa. Important
information on Gandhi was also given by faculty members.

11 DAYS WORKSOP
ON
DHOKRA KALA PRASIKSHAN KARYASHALA
REPORT
The Department of History organized 11 days workshop on Dhokra Art Training Workshop
for UG & PG students of the college from 17- 27 September 2021. The training Programme
was inaugurated on 17th September 2021 and closing ceremony was held on 27th September
2021. The renowned trainers were from Jhitki -Mitki Van hastkala samiti, Kondagaon.
Objectives of the workshop
1. To acquaint students about rich tribal regional art.
2. Training for preservation promotion and promotion of our tribal culture.
3. Skill development of students for self-employment.
About 54 students and 05 teachers attended the workshop. The participants were trained in all
four processes.
1. Preparation of Rough structure of figurines with mixture of black soil, white ant soil, rice
bran and sand.
2. Threading the structure with honeybee wax
3. Copper metal melting and casting process
4. And finally finishing the figurines.
All the participants enjoyed the workshop. Exhibition of Dokra Art was appreciated by all the
visitors. Overall, the workshop was successful and participants acquired the knowledge of
rich tribal art of Chhattisgarh.

Felicitation Ceremony & Motivational Speech
The Department of History organized Samman Samaroh (Felicitation Ceremony) on 17
November 2021 to felicitate students of the department selected in PSC examination. On this
occasion, Mr. Dileep Uikey and Mr. Birendra Kumar who were selected on the post of
Deputy Collector and Assistant Professor (History) were felicitated with ‘Prashasti Patra’ &
Shawl- Sriphal by the principal of the college.
Both the selected students shared their experiences and preparation methods for competitive
exams. They also solved the queries of UG & PG students of the department. About 55
students participated in the programme.
