Jakarta Bay is the busiest beach area in front Indonesia. Jakarta Bay is receiving
export through the sea. There are 11 ports, one of the largest ports of Tanjung Priok which
has complete facilities and modern technology-based port information.Except the port also
grow several public facilities such as Ancol recreation areas, residential areas, business
districts and regional fisheries.
Growth of Jakarta Bay will continue. Investor of residence and government are
increasingly interested in developing its business towards the sea considering the city of
Jakarta has been very full with residence.According to Jakarta’s Master Plan,Jakarta Bay area
will be reclaimed for creating residential areas, tourism and the business area. In the Master
Plan of Jakarta also planned for the road transport access to new areas in Jakarta Bay.This
means a big construction and all possibilities must be planned for Jakarta Bay.
Beside the significance of Jakarta bay there is the threat of environmental damage .
Since the lost of mangrove ecosystem brings problems puddle that covered the only highway
that connects to the Jakarta International Airport which has led to serious problems with the
Air Transportation Jakarta. Flood Hazard from the river mouth into Jakarta Bay is also very
serious. This happens because discharge of river in Jakarta is too big during the rainy season
and receive runoff from of land.
Reclamation will further extend the flow of the river. With the condition of the coastal
zone topography is relatively flat and the amount of water that will pass through the river is
big enough then at the same flow rate slows down, it is likely to lead to overflow of water
from water bodies.
The rubber dam can be made more than one. The Giant Sea Wall should have 3dams.
. On the rubber dam will be made bridge.

Ruber dam on the benefits of land reclamation is able to overcome flood reclaimed
land and maintain the circulation flow of water so as not to be dead. With consideration of the
expensive maintenance costs of the pump of the polder system, the rubber dam system is a
system with a lower cost compared with the pump system.
