Text I

Two days ago, exactly on Monday, I went to SMAN 03 Blitar for the first

time. I went there by motorcycle. Because I did not know where that school

was, I was so afraid if I would go ashtray and be late.

After having arrived at SMAN 03 Blitar, I did not find any friend of mine.

I thought whether I was in the right place or not. A few minutes later, one of

my friends came and he was followed by all my friends who had teaching

training there.

Before I joined the flag ceremony, I had gone to library. I could see many

new things there such as a great magazine “PIONEER”, newspaper, wise

words, etc. Then, a teacher asked me to go out and join the flag ceremony.

Joining it, I got a new thing, a teacher greeted students using English in

ceremony.

Then, a teacher explained to me about SMAN 03 Blitar and showed me

all facilities there. I thought this school was different from other school which

I had found before.

I decided to do the best in my teaching training in this school.

The Children Of LirKing Lir lived long go in Ireland. He had four children, two boys and

two girls, whom he loved dearly. However stepmother was jealous. She wove a spell that tured the cildren ito swans.

Lir was hearth-broken. His beard and hair turned white with grief as he searched for his children. One day he saw four swans. He did not realized who they were, although they recognized him as their father.

The spell could only be broken if the mountain on the north was joined to the one in the south. This seemed possible, but after many years all the birds flow into the air and formed an arc between the mountain. The swan were transformed and Lir saw his children once more. They were no longer young but had grown old with hair as white as their father’s.

Princess Mandalika

Princess Mandalika was so desperate. She didn’t want anyone killing each

other because of her. That’s why she decided to go to the sea and plunged herself

into it. She died in the south sea of Lombok. The king and princes were sad and

felt guilty. They regretted and stopped fighting.

Once upon a time in Lombok, there was a kingdom named Kuripan. The

king of Kuripan was very wise. He had a daughter named Mandalika. She was so

beautiful. Many princes wanted to marry her. To choose the one that would be his

son-in-law, the king had an arrow would be Mandalika’s husband.

Until now, one day in every year usually in February or March, people go

to the south sea. On that day, great number of worms come out from the sea.

People call these worms “Nyale”. People believe that those Nyales are Princess

Mandalika’s heart.

On the day of competition, those princes shot their arrows. All of them did

it perfectly. The King found it difficult to choose. Therefore the princess began to

fight and kill each other.
