Absentee voting is allowed for all county and state electionsupon application to the office of Bernalillo County Clerk or theSandoval County Clerk. No reason is needed to request anabsentee ballot. The time to apply to vote by absentee ballotvaries from election to election. Contact the County Clerk forfurther information. For municipal, school board and otherelections, contact those offices for absentee ballots.

22EASTERN SANDOVAL COUNTYARROYO FLOOD CONTROLAUTHORITYThe Eastern Sandoval County Arroyo Flood Control Authority (ES-CAFCA) was established by the state legislature in 2007 to managewatersheds and flood control in Eastern Sandoval County includingareas of Placitas, Bernalillo, and Algodones, and excluding federal andtribal areas, for the benefit and general welfare of the population.
The first election was in November 2008. A 5-member Board ofDirectors was elected to staggered 6-year terms. A bond issue alsowas passed in that election to fund the flood control planning andactivities of ESCAFCA.
