New research indicates that the “living force” can be equated to the overall matter/energy pattern of an organism, while mind and consciousness are the electric and magnetic counterparts of the matter/energy pattern. In fact, all

living organisms are complex material/energy patterns (comprising the structural and biochemical body) supplemented by extremely complex electric (electromagnetic scalar potential) field patterns and magnetic (electromagnetic vector potential) field patterns, constituting mind and consciousness. The brain alone should no longer be considered the home of mind and consciousness in the body. It only seems so because of the dense concentration of neurons in

the brain. A strict study of the magnetic vector potential field patterns associated with neurons and neural nets demonstrates how thoughts and

streams of thought originate in the brain and are stored magnetically at and within the points in space-time occupied by the brain and body. Microtubules, which act as bio-magnetic induction coils, form electromagnetic transceivers in

conjunction with axon wall capacitors within neurons. They are the primary structural bio-unit used for building, storing and retrieving memories in the mind. Mind and consciousness could thus be considered a four-dimensional

electric-magnetic potential field holographic body that maintains a semi-independent existence and survives death.

Some philosophers and scientists argue that consciousness is not a fair or proper subject for physical speculation or hypothesis, but as long as consciousness interacts

with the physical/material world it must be at least physical in nature

9/14/2012 3Beichler for SPR 2012

The only place to start looking for the physical

nature of consciousness is in the neural connections in the

material brain where consciousness interacts with

the material world9/14/2012 4Beichler for SPR 2012

So we start with theneural correlates of

consciousness

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 5

I propose that (1) Life is the complex matter/energy pattern that corresponds to a living organism (quantized S-T curvature),

(2) Mind is the complex electrical scalar potential pattern associated

with the living organism, and (3) Consciousness is the complex magnetic vector potential pattern

associated with the living organism9/14/2012 6Beichler for SPR 2012

I further propose that living organisms evolved as Darwin and

others have claimed – with reservations because present

evolution theory is inadequate and incomplete – and that the

evolution of systems is a natural part of our physical universe

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 7

Life is not matter and energy, Mind is not electricity and Consciousness is not magnetism – Life, mind and

consciousness are the complex patterns that emerged from and

now organize matter/energy, electrical and magnetic interactions

in living biochemical organisms

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 8

It is the very complexity that renders these particular

field patterns in living organisms different from their inanimate material

counterparts, i.e., ordinary matter

9/14/2012 9Beichler for SPR 2012

All of these patterns work together to create a living organism, which

means that all living organisms have the same complex mix of

patterns, but different organisms have evolved both higher level

patterns and different complexities than others

9/14/2012 10Beichler for SPR 2012

All life is conscious to one

degree or another

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 11

Homo sapiens merely has the highest level complexities that we

presently know of –This fact is quite evident in the relationship between human consciousness and its neural

correlates in the brain and body

9/14/2012 12Beichler for SPR 2012

The central component in human and other forms of consciousness is

the microtubule, but the microtubules that form the

cytoskeletal system in neurons are not the seat of consciousness because consciousness is an

emergent interlinked global property of living organisms

9/14/2012 13Beichler for SPR 2012

9/14/2012 14Beichler for SPR 2012

9/14/2012 15Beichler for SPR 2012

The characteristics that we normally associate

with consciousness first appear or emerge at the

level of neural nets

9/14/2012 16Beichler for SPR 2012

9/14/2012 17Beichler for SPR 2012

9/14/2012 18Beichler for SPR 2012

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 19

So the problem of explaining and physically modeling

consciousness is how to get from the microtubules

immersed in a molecular water medium to the neural nets

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 20

Nearly all other neuroscientists are concentrating on the

electrical signals that travel through and among neurons

and see quantum physics as an answer to the problem of explaining consciousness

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 21

Such approaches are just wrong – The real answer is to be found in magnetism

and the point where quantum and classical physics come together

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 22

Magnetic fields guide and organize the

motion of electrons and electrically

charged particles 9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 23

9/14/2012 24Beichler for SPR 2012

The action potentials also create a weak magnetic

field around the axon and neuron after the fashion of a current carrying wire

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 25

The structure of the microtubules determines their central role in the

emergence of consciousness

9/14/2012 26Beichler for SPR 2012

In conjunction with the axon wall capacitor,

each microtubule is thus a classical LRC circuit –

an individual radio transceiver

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 27

– MTs are a key component –Microtubules emit EM waves that serve

three purposesThey (1) resonate with similar microtubules within the brain,

(2) establish interference patterns in the surrounding H2O molecules, and in so

doing (3) act as guides for the storage and

retrieval of memories and recognition9/14/2012 28Beichler for SPR 2012

The microtubules emit electromagnetic (light) pulses that

are absorbed by other similar microtubules establishing

resonance (thought) patterns –However they also establish

secondary interference patterns among themselves within the surrounding water medium

9/14/2012 29Beichler for SPR 2012

These interference patterns establish a pattern of quantized nuclear magnetic resonances in

the water molecules that reinforce and intensify the

thought pattern for storage and retrieval

9/14/2012 30Beichler for SPR 2012

Memories are thus stored in the very points of space occupied

by the brain and body as residual traces of magnetic

vector potential (David Bohm and Karl Pribram’s holographic

memory model)

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 31

Resonance between microtubules in different

nearby neurons also acts to ‘guide’ the placement of

dendrite synapses to form new logic circuits within the

neural nets 9/14/2012 32Beichler for SPR 2012

Thus there are four fundamental magnetic

domains (interacting levels) that contribute to the

emergence of consciousness in the neural nets

9/14/2012 33Beichler for SPR 2012

(1) Water molecules in the neuron and brain are quantized nuclear magnetic resonators

(2) Microtubules acting as classical magnetic inductors establish and guide the processes

(3) Axon and neural walls are classical electric capacitors and act as current carrying wires

(4) Neural nets whose connections are guided by electromagnetic resonance between

various microtubules form basic logic circuits

9/14/2012 34Beichler for SPR 2012

The complex interactions of different levels of magnetic domains within the brain and body form Consciousness –

Consciousness is not the magnetic field itself but the highly complex

multi-leveled pattern of interacting magnetic domains that guide electrical

signals along material pathways

9/14/2012 35Beichler for SPR 2012

This multi-leveled complex pattern is stored as (3-D) dimensionless

points of varying magnetic vector potential in the very points of space

occupied by the brain and body over the course of time – But these 3-D vector points of potential are extended into the 4th-D of space

9/14/2012 36Beichler for SPR 2012

So there are four basic levels of magnetic domains that establish the

simple emergence of consciousness –(1) quantum water – NMR of A, (2) microtubules – classical EM wave resonance, (3) external B around neurons, (4) neural net alignment

guided by microtubule resonance –but the domain structure continues

right up through the whole body9/14/2012 37Beichler for SPR 2012

9/14/2012 38Beichler for SPR 2012

9/14/2012 39Beichler for SPR 2012

This overall magnetic complexity is both

self-perpetuating and self-organizing

9/14/2012 40Beichler for SPR 2012

For example, under these physical conditions higher level domains

(consciousness) can actually guide evolution such that evolutionary leaps

can occur when new beneficial magnetic complexities emerge – They can even affect genetic structure so

new traits are inherited by future generations – Top down evolution

9/14/2012 41Beichler for SPR 2012

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 42

Everything in the universe evolves – not just biological systems

– but also physical systems

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 43

So, evolution must be a general principle in

the universe as a whole not just a biological theory

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 44

However, evolution leads to greater and more complex order in physical systems

while our universe is seemingly ruled by entropy

as described in thermodynamics

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 45

In reality, thermodynamics is incomplete – It has serious problems that have gone

unnoticed by nearly everyone for a century and a

half

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 46

For example, (1) Thermo is based on closed systems but everything is connected in some

way or another in open systems,(2) Thermo is non-symmetrical – it is

about disorder and ignores order, (3) Thermo says nothing about the various natural forces that affect closed or open entropic systems

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 47

Thermodynamics must be completed to account for these and other problems before science can move

forward

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 48

The fourth Law of Thermo would be Prigogine’s principle, it is already used quite widely in

conjunction with the second law and clears up many problems

associated with the second law

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 49

The fifth law of Thermo deals with chaos or chaotic (entropic) systems – Under the proper environmental

conditions (such as a system’s interaction with external natural forces) complexities will emerge

forming new orderly systems

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 50

The sixth law of Thermo combines the previous two laws – System evolution occurs when chaotic

(entropic) mixes of complex systems move toward higher and

higher levels of complexity

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 51

System evolution is thus universal, open-

ended and continuous throughout the

universe

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 52

The next law of Thermo, which will always be the next law, is Murphy’s Law – Anything that can go wrong will go wrong – This seems a good balance for the Zeroth law while the other new laws balance the

classical laws of Thermo

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 53

The implications for biological and human evolution are critical –

(1) At times throughout history complexities have formed that forced evolutionary leaps from the top down,

(2) In fact as systems become ever more complex, bottom up evolution becomes

more difficult while the possibility of top down evolution increases,

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 54

(3) We are still evolving, (4) There are indications that

environmental, population and mental stresses are close to initiating a new

evolutionary leap in the homo species, and

(5) That leap will be about consciousness and proceed from the

top down

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 55

In other words human consciousness will

force human evolution to the next step –

Homo paradoxus (?)

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 56

We are fast approaching a threshold or ‘tipping point’ where we either evolve or

diminish to become an infinitesimally small

footnote in the history of the universe

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 57

The last major step in human evolution came when consciousness

and mind became ‘self-aware’ –Self-awareness in physics would

constitute our minds’ recognition and acceptance that we are

localized phenomena in both time and 3-D space

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 58

We have been working this out philosophically for a few tens of thousands of years,

but the recent past has shown exceptional new

advances

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 59

The second scientific revolution was based on a recognition and acceptance that time and space are interconnected, but this was

not a big enough mental step forward to initiate an

evolutionary leap

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 60

Science also evolves and occasionally undergoes

revolutions in thought that match revolutions in culture

and society – Science is intimately bound to human

evolution as a whole9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 61

A new scientific revolution has begun – especially in the

field of physics – but it covers all aspects of science and mind under the heading

“Mind, Time and Space”

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 62

The state of physics currently looks like the

state of physics in the late nineteenth century, just

preceding the second scientific revolution

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 63

Our next evolutionary leap will come when we recognize and accept the existence of a higher dimension of space that binds 3-D space to time and begin to work and think within

that higher dimension – We commonly experience a 5-D space-

time continuum

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 64

But there are also paranormal

implications of this model

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 65

When a person dies, only the 3-D material/energy pattern is disrupted –

Since consciousness is 4-D, self-perpetuating and self-organizing it

survives body death and maintains the electric potential pattern that is mind to form the afterlife (subtle or light)

body – This is required by the 3rd and 4th laws in Maxwell’s EM theory

9/14/2012 66Beichler for SPR 2012

If emotionally or mentally intense (stressful) events occur

preceding death, a trace or imprint of the event can be left

behind in the space that was occupied by the living being prior to death – Hauntings

9/14/2012 67Beichler for SPR 2012

Otherwise, Ghosts and apparitions are residual electromagnetic

potential field patterns that can interact with our material world under the proper environmental

conditions to produce weak light waves

9/14/2012 68Beichler for SPR 2012

In those other cases where a residual pattern appears in a person’s mind or is actually seen and displays evidence of intelligent awareness, the surviving

mind/consciousness body is either interacting with the viewers brain to

create the thought or with the material environment to create the

image seen by the viewers

9/14/2012 69Beichler for SPR 2012

The same is theoretically possible in those cases where people seem

to have the ability to ‘communicate’ with the dead –

However, the ‘mediums’ brains and neural nets would need to be ‘pre-

wired’ for that possibility

9/14/2012 70Beichler for SPR 2012

In some cases, people can directly experience (come into mental contact with or become aware of) the higher dimension of space (through NDEs,

ascetic practices and etc) – The experience can rewire their brains (neural

nets) in such a manner that the experiencer undergoes mental changes or

perhaps even becomes ‘enlightened’ –Buddhist and spontaneous enlightenment

9/14/2012 71Beichler for SPR 2012

The extent to which any person’s personality and worldview change –including the possibly of developing

psychic abilities – during such experiences would correspond directly to the intensity of the experience and the amount of rewiring that a person’s

neural net undergoes during the experience

9/14/2012 72Beichler for SPR 2012

The relative geometries of our common three-dimensional experiential space and the

embedding four-dimensional space require that all (3-D) dimensionless points intersect or pass through a

single common point (or pole) in the fourth dimension – The sweet point

9/14/2012 73Beichler for SPR 2012

Otherwise, …

9/14/2012 74Beichler for SPR 2012

Since consciousness alone is extended in the fourth direction of space as a

complex pattern of varying 3-D magnetic vector potential points,

consciousness is always ‘touching’ this common point to all points in the

universe – This is the source of ‘psi’ and each individual’s consciousness is

the sensing ‘organ’ of ‘psi’9/14/2012 75Beichler for SPR 2012

All psychic and paranormal abilities are thus reduced to

becoming aware of one’s own natural connections to

the rest of the universe through the ‘sweet point’

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 76

Becoming fully aware of touching (or experiencing)

this point would be the most powerful of all possible

experiences of the higher dimension of space

9/14/2012 77Beichler for SPR 2012

There is empirical scientific evidence to support various

portions of this model of consciousness while the

model itself implies ways to experimentally verify the

theory9/14/2012 78Beichler for SPR 2012

Scientists have recently discovered that (1) new neurons grow in the

brain throughout life,(2) teenagers brains are completely rewired over a period of ten years,

and (3) learning and everyday experiences are constantly rewiring the neural nets in the human brain

9/14/2012 79Beichler for SPR 2012

In other words, our brains are easily rewired through new learning and experiences,

indicating the high probability that this model is accurate –

In any case, there is also circumstantial evidence

9/14/2012 80Beichler for SPR 2012

(1) Fritz-Albert Popp has detected that light waves are emitted by all living cells

(2) Persinger uses magnetic wave pulses to induce altered states of consciousness(3) Woolf and others have noted that

microtubules naturally resonate in the IR to 800 nm range when hit by lasers

(4) Deterioration of microtubules has been associated with the loss of memory in

Alzheimers victims(5) Optogenetics experiments have shown that

light waves can activate thoughts in neurons5. And …

verification

9/14/2012 Beichler for SPR 2012 83

I propose to build an electronic thought detector based upon nanoradio (nano-carbon tube)

technology that will clearly demonstrate that thoughts persist well outside of the skull and can be ‘read’ by others – If I can convince

others to help me9/14/2012 84Beichler for SPR 2012
