INFLUENCE OF THE NEW MOONBETWEEN MAY 7th AND JUNE 6TH.

THE new Moon occurs on May 7th when it is 3.52p. m. Washington, D. C., mean time, at which time

the 10th degree of the Zodiacal sign Libra is ascending on Eastern horizon; Venus, its planetary ruler, isposited in 7th section of chart of the heavens, in Aries, its “detriment,” retrograde and in conjunction with theMoon's South Node and slightly adverse with Jupiterand Uranus; all of which tends to agitate the publicmind over matter pertaining to war, strife and treat16s.

The luminaries posited in the eight section, in goodaspect to Saturn, ruler of 4th house, indicates a goodperiod for crops and activity in matters of land, minesand forestry, and some beneficial legislation relatingto these.

Mars, ruler of second domain, adverse with Jupiterºº:

and Uranus stirs disquieting reports relating to foreign

affairs affecting our financial situation unfavorably regarding credits, etc., and may produce heavy expendi

tures for army and navy. It also shows danger ofaccidents in travel, aerial and otherwise. Many automishaps between May 6th and 20th. Danger through

fires and explosives. -

Jupiter rapproaching the opposition with Uranus,

which is posited near the cusp of the 6th house inclines to labor troubles and illnes of a peculiar natureaffecting liver, bowels and the distribution of bodilyfluids. Financial institutions and Wall Street will find

delicate situations to meet to preserve the integrity ofbusiness institutions under their control. The full

force of the condition will be felt about the 19th whenMars butts in with a square aspect to Jupiter and Uranus. About this time, or a few days later, will be agood period to buy stocks, as many will go to a lowlevel. This aspect is similar to that which occurredin the Fall of 1907 Wool, wheat, silk, motors, tractions, electrics will be the ones to feel the influencemost, while others may reflect sympathetically. Inthe Fall months Jupiter will form a trine to Uranus inthe United States horoscope which will do much torestore confidence and bouyancy and cause suddenrises, which will realize profits for those who havebought wisely.

GENERAL OUTLOOK FOR THE SUMMERQUARTER, 1921.

-

Between June 21st and September 23rd.

According to Astrology

At the moment of Summer Solstice, June 21st 6:28P. M., Washington, D. C., mean time, the sign Sagittarious is rising, with Jupiter, its planetary ruler positedin 9th house of chart, made for the above data. Thisbrings strongly forward matters of religion, science, philosophy, invention, law, and legal interests concerned with foreign nations, as well as matters of shippingand foreign commerce. Jupiter being close to Saturngives attention particularly to matters of long standingand of ponderous nature. The Moon in ascendant going to a good aspect with Jupiter indicates that suchmatters will proceed with general public approval andfavor.

There are indications of improvement in all meansof communication, especially electric and aerial. Postal service will improve and there should be an unusual amount Of travel.

Venus in 5th domain denotes benefit to amusementresorts, increase in marriage and birth rate, muchspeculation and decrease in price of cereals. Advancein educational and hygienic measures, some improvement of laboring conditions. Women will achievehonors in field of science and art.

Some agitating questions will arise with foreignpowers, producing danger of war, which will revert todiplomatic negotiations. The demise is indicated ofsome noted writer along financial or historical subº

PLANETARY METEOROLOGYEditor Llewellyn George—

Dear Friend:—As promised previously we are enclosing another “Meteorological Forecast,” preparedin a long range way for six months or so into the future.

Our last endeavor in this line proved, we know, ofmuch interest to your many readers, especially mention of storm for last of January, which will be “longremembered” at many points along the Pacific Coast. Our mention of disturbance ranging around the 12thof March—Sun Opposition Saturn—has just passed, producing one of the heaviest deluges we have hadin this section, Saturday evening and late Sunday afternoon. This affect was felt at Los Angeles, to begin then sweeping up this way eventually, proving Ourcontention that Saturn, on the equinox influencesstorm development far south on this coast.

Following the 12th, as forecasted here, a disturbance to follow for the 17th, 18th, 19th. On the evening of the 17th, the day we begin these notes, a decided shower of rain fell.KGººgººd

rººPage 26 ASTROLOGICAL BULLETINA

Other disturbances for March are shown for 21st,22nd, 24-25, 29-30. Much north wind is also shownfor the close of March. Showers for April 2-6. Hailstorms or cyclonic wind is shown for late on the afternoon of the 9th. There being an “anular eclipse ofthe Sun”. April 8th, in the second decanate of the signAries, said eclipse is recorded as not favorable forplant, tree and cereal growth. Ranging around 12thof April, when on latter date Jupiter centers in parallel with Uranus, phenomenal weather change is thenindicated, followed by much north wind on the 13-14A disturbance to follow the latter is shown for the19th, with Venus sesquiquadrate Saturn and Mars parallel Neptune. -

We judge by figure for “Total Eclipse of the Moon”April 21st, with Neptune then “stationary,” that thereare indications of heavy electrical storms, with astrong probability of sudden destructive changes oftemperature or heavy hail storms at various localizedpoints on this coast. Earthquake disturbances arealso indicated especially for western Nevada and theSierra Range, also volcanic activity at Mt. Lassen, there being five planets in the fixed signs Taurus, Leoand Scorpio.

From April 30th to May 6th, unusual weather is indicated, with the Sun square Neptune, on the 1st Jupiter opposition Uranus on the 3rd, Jupiter “stationary” on the 6th, and Mercury square Neptune. Starting about the 6th, Mars goes into one of his periodsor in transit of sign Gemini, lasting up to about June19th, this ordinarily A VERY DRY INDICATION, islikely to effect to much extent disturbances shown between these dates.

Other disturbances for May, to follow, are indicated*Gººgºººººººº.

for the 10th, with Sun conjunction Mercury and parallel Neptune. Also excitement is shown for the17-18-19. On the 21st Saturn is “stationary,” and asboth Jupiter and Saturn go forward this month, thisfavors the “Mars Period” as above mentioned. Excitement is also shown for the closing days of themonth, 24th to 28th, and 31st, with Sun square Uranusand Jupiter.

June the 1st Mars is square Saturn. From the 7thto 10th inst, very changeable and unusual weather isshown with Sun Square Saturn on the 9th. Jupiterparallel Uranus and Mercury parallel Mars on the10th. Also 18-19 with Sun in strong aspect to Neptune.

We judge from figure for time Sun enters sign ofCancer, June 21st, 3:36 p. m., (P. S. T.) a moderatelywarm summer, up to about the 1st of September, butranging around last three days of June there is indicated the warmest spell of weather for the season, when the Sun conjoins Mars on the 29th inst, followedby moderate and very fine weather.

ed in this sign, the Ascendant. This is one of the intellectual signs and those who are born in it have goodmental abilities, have active, flexible mind, particularlygood for writing, study and speaking. He is fond ofbooks, can learn easily, is versatle, inventive and canapply his mind to many subjects having quick perception, good reasoning powers, thoughtfulness and intuition. He should receive a good education, having ability for languages, science and the most advanced philosophies and occult studies. He may be lacking attimes in concentration and perseverance, and be irresolute and changeable, or liable to worry, irritation, nervousnes or reserve. In personal appearance, he islikely to be tall, well-formed, good compexion, brownhair; intellectual and cultured; his disposition 1s good, sympathetic, quick and active.

Mercury's influence is over the mind and nerves andbestows ingenuity, adaptability, wit and good memory;also cleverness and fluency in conversation. But hiswhole nature will seldom be shown to the world, asthere is a fine element of reserve and understandingof the true nature of others. He may occupy himselfwith too many subjects or change too rapidly. He hasa keen perception and intuition that will see thetruth under quite opposite disguises.

The Moon in Capricorn indicates ambition and desire for fame and leadership; he will be popular andcourt responsibility.

INDIVIDUALITY.

The vital principle of the Sun in Taurus gives adetermined, persistent, patient, enduring, practical nature, at times dogmatic and obstinate; there will be atendency to become more reserved, authoratative, firmand inflexible as life advances. This is very good, to

&gººgººgººººººººººººººººººººººººººº.

offset the restless changefulness of Mercury described above, as ruler of Ascendant. Beneath all hisfirmness will be a warm heart and he will ever begenerous and affectionate. His character is dignified, cautious and careful, and when slow to come to a decision, his judgment can be relied upon.

THE POLARITIES.Blending the influence of the Sun in Taurus and the

Moon in Capricorn, representing his individual andpersonal characteristics, it may be judged that he hasa very positive, determined and independent nature, withability to turn the mind to general principles, business, music or art. He has a great love of wealth andgrandeur, and will desire to obtain position and honor;he will reason and plan well, have excellent ability fororganizing. He can, and should be aided to develop, will power and self control necessary to be fortifiedagainst disappointment. It is possible for him to remain calm under exciting circumstances and he ismore fitted for public than private life.

MOON IN CAPRICORN

This may bring him in contact with the publicwhere he will meet both popularity and opposition. Hewill meet people who travel much or lead bohemianlives. Long voyages would be dangerous and shouldnot be undertaken except under the best of aspects fortravel. Marriage would best be avoided, especially atan early age.

TRAVELMars and Neptune in the third house of this chart

is not good for travel, inclining to accidents or trialsand extraordinary experiences while travelling. In ageneral sense Mars causes the mind to be very hastyand impulsive. This influence also denotes trouble orannoyance and disputes with brethren or relatives;

ºASTROLOGICAL BULLETINA Page 31

also peculiar or strange relatives, hard to understand. He should be guarded always in speech and correspondence; he will have plenty of mental courage, butshould learn restraint in expressing himself.

PHILOSPHY.

Uranus, the mystical and occult planet, occupies the9th house of this chart, which concerns long journeysand the “higher mind”; this shows an interest inastrology and kindred subjects and very advancedviews. Uranus could hardly have a better positionthan in the house of “higher mind” and in its ownsign Aquarus, with which it is in harmony, and it alsohas good aspects with Mercury and Venus, showingthat he is not only eminently fitted for very progressive studies along nearly all lines but that he will Obtain much happiness from them, when impulse hasbeen Overcome.

FRIENDS

Jupiter in the eleventh house in this chart is very goodand a very happy tesimony that he will never be inwant of a friend and those friends will be generousand probably able and willing to help him, shouldtheir aid be required. He will have religious, wealthyand philosophical friends, very well disposed and some, more than likely, will be born under the influence Ofthe planet Jupiter. This position of Jupiter, benefited by Mercury, Mars and Uranus, shows that thischild should realize many of his hopes and wishes alonghigher lines, but not along personal and selfish lines.

MOON OPPOSITION SATURN

A strong adverse aspect between Moon in the 7thhouse of partners, and Saturn influencing both firstand second houses (the person and his money) is an

aspect of fate which will bring its measure of misfortune and sorrow into the life, and these afflictionswill concern his partners in business or marriagepartner, his domestic life and his money. This aspectlimits and binds and the best way to counteract theseseeming evils is to sacrifice the lower nature asquickly as possible, overcome selfishness and discontent. He is likely to feel loss and disappointmentkeenly and can be much helped in early years andprotected for the future by being taught to philosophically rise above personal disappointments. He willbe thwarted at times by his elders or by superiors.Despondency, poor circulation and nervousness mayeffect his health, but can be overcome by hope, cheerful surroundings, activity and New Thought.

MOON OPPOSITION VENUS.

The planet Venus is ruler of the birth month signTaurus; the position of Venus in Cancer increasesthe affectional nature and inclines him to be homeloving and domesticated, as far as the feelings areconcerned, and he has the parental instinct to givehelp and protection to children. At the same timedifferent characteristics would lead him in an opposite direction; and the Moon opposition Venus willat times bring sorrow and disappointment in love af.fairs and domestic matters; there is danger of carelessness, extravagance or excess in pleasure, and ofdisagreement and complications with the oppositesex. He can be saved a great deal of trouble andpersonal suffering in future, if he is taught as a childto be always unselfish with the opposite sex, neverto quarrel or dispute with them, but always be harmonious and restrain his own feelings and wishes. This aspect and position of the planets inclinesstrongly to squandering money for pleasure.GºGºRº

*GººdººASTROLOGICAL BULLETINA Page 33

MERCURY SEXT LE MARS.

Mars in Leo is benefited by Mercury and Jupiter, but in adverse opposition to Uranus. He is capableof positions of trust, authority and responsibility andduring good “directions” to Mars, will have successand good fortune through Government affairs and people of high rank. He will be fond of strenuoussports, adventure, risky enterprises and occult phenomena. This child is quick, lively, practical, skillful, versatile, with Splendid mental and business ability; he will find interest and success in drawing, music, carving, designing, chemistry, medicine, scienceand in investigating all practical methods and applications in the mechanical or literary world.

MERCURY SEXTILE JUPITER.

These planets are well placed and in fortunate aspect—Mercury in its own sign Gemini, most favorable for mental expression; versatile, creative, inspirational; Jupiter the planet of greater fortune inthe sign of leadership Aries, and in the eleventh, house of friends, hopes and wishes. He will havemagnanimous and brilliant ideas, good judgment; andin association with Jupiterian friends, who are likelyto be influential, philosophical, progressive people, hemay enter humanitarian or otherwise big projects andwill be well gifted by nature to take the lead in suchaffairs. He will be positive in his views and possessvery liberal religious ideas. He should allow hisimagination to carry him into the inner world andto realize that the “Kingdom of Heaven” is within.

MERCURY QUINDECILE SATURN.

A slightly good aspect of Mercury and Saturn endows him with prudence and deep thoughtfulness andthe power of concentration and memory; this will&gººgººººººººººººººººººº.

help him to restrain his impulsive actions. It seemsthat he should have a deep understanding of himselfand an unobtrusive power over others. He will gainthrough tact, diplomacy, caution and perseveranceThis position denotes a measure of success in anycapacity with large corporations, real estate, mining,or as a mental healer, lecturer, publisher, etc.

MERCURY TRINE URANUS.

Mercury in the first house trine to Uranus in theninth, each planet harmoniously placed in its ownSign is one of the most powerful positions these planets could have; this bestows intuitive perception, inventive ability, an original and inspired mind. Heshould become a great scholar or be eminently successful in literature, the arts and sciences, or Astrology, for he has wonderful comprehension, good judgIment.

This aspect taken by itself, is good for long journeys, in contradictory testimony to an aspect of Marsopposition Uranus, so he should be careful not tojourney when Mars or Uranus are afflicted, or whenthe Progressed Moon is adverse to Mars or Uranus inhis natal chart. As life advances he can perfect hispersonal expression by striving always for unselfish.ness and self control, and he will become more deeplyinterested in higher thought and more conscious ofthe spiritual man within himself.

VENUS SEMI-SQUARE SUN.

The planet Venus is afflicted by adverse aspects;Venus in Cancer gives love of home, a loving andemotional nature and great affection for his mother.Venus Semi-Square Sun inclines a person to extravagance, pleasure and luxury and is an indication ofunfortunate or secret love affairs; losses in speculation. He should be guarded in his speech and actionsK6KG&GRG&GRG&GRG&GRG&GRGºGºRººg

when the feelings and emotions are involved.

VENUS SE MI-SQUARE MARS.

This aspect bestows similar inclinations to the onejust described, Venus Semi-Square Sun, and only accentuates it. He may suffer loss through excesses, extravagance; also through partnerships and throughimpulsively entering business or speculative enterprises. At times the social standing will suffer underthis aspect, that is when “directions” of the progressive chart make it operative and these may be opposition or loss of friends through enmity or jealousy.

VENUS CONJUNCTION SATURN.

Venus conjunction Saturn is a peculiar position anddifficult to interpret, owing to the fact that but fewcan respond to its higher vibrations and its lower vibrations bring more or less disappointment in pleasures and in the strongly personal desires, often delays marriage, and causes Sorrow through death Ofpartner. Although these planets are posited in thefirst house of the chart, their influence extends to thesecond, house of money. Saturn tends to make anuphill struggle and much work for little gain; hewould see many Opportunities but not always be ina financial position to take advantage of them. Onaccount of this position he should be benefited by thestudy of Astrology, becoming familiar with the “directinos” operating in his progressive chart, to avoid financial loss and failure in Saturnine business, as property, mines, investments, stocks, building, etc.

This aspect, taken alone, inclines him to be conservative, shrewd, thrifty and a keen judge of financial matters; also fond of all things mystical, ancientand antique. It indicates a sorrow through the deathof a sweetheart, and sorrow through disappointment

in an early love affair.

VENUS BIOUINTILE URANUS.

This slightly good aspect shows fondness for musicand art, and bestows an attractive personality thatwill gain him many friends and acquaintances andsometimes good fortune through friends, or strangersand peculiar circumstances. He is likely to have artistic ideas that are very original or considered eccentric by others.

VENUS VIGINTILE NEPTUNE.

A slightly good aspect between Venus and Neptunebroadens the sympathies and refines the love nature, rendering him deeply sensitive to the beauty of nature and the sea, and easily won over to lofty idealsof life and conduct.

SUN SQUARE MARS.

This child is at times very impetuous and excitableand he wil not always be able to explain his feelings;therefore, care should be taken when he is influencedby this aspect, not to excite him more, or force himin any way, but letting him alone; quiet repose willbe the best. At these and other adverse periods, itwould be wise to guard against accidents and not takehim among great crowds or on any journeys. Heshould be guarded against fire and fire-arms andshould an operation be necessary at any time in life,a good time should be chosen by an Astrologer orone who had sufficiently studied the matter; as anoperation under this adverse aspect of Sun to Mars.would be decidedly dangerous. This position andaspect of Mars gives a tendency to feverish complaints, muscular rheumatism in the back, enlargement and palpitation of heart, fainting and inflamKG&GR&GRGK6KGººgº.gººgº

mation of the pericardium and an excitable, impulsive mind.

SUN SEM I-QUINTILE JUPITER.

This slightly good aspect increases the chances forsuccess in life and indicates influential friends andbenefit through them; he will have periods of prosperity, where every undertaking succeeds; he will risein popularity and esteem in his community and maygain much credit with philanthropic undertakings.Under this aspect or at periods in his life when thisaspect is operative, he will form lasting friendshipsof mutual benefit. He will enjoy social life and functions and respect the conventions of his environment. This aspect bestows health and will partially offsetthe Sun's adverse aspect to Mars. His health shouldbe guarded carefully when the Sun afflicts Mars, especially each year about the period of November 10thto 22nd; February 8th to 19th; May 10th to 22nd, andAugust 11 to 22nd, as the Sun then transits adverseaspects to the Natal Mars.

SUN SEMI-SQUARE SATURN.

The Sun Semi-square Saturn is an unfortunateaspect, with the Sun in the 12th, house of troubleand limitation, and may bring some secret sorrowsinto the life. Sometimes he will be unable to achievehis ambitions, either through interference of eldersor lack of opportunity. Delays and hindrances willsometimes upset his plans. The health may be upseton account of imperfect circulation of the blood. No.ble ideas inculcated in youth and training of the moralnature will improve his general conditions all throughthe life.

SUN SEXTILE NEPTUNE.

The Sun in good aspect to Neptune gives an in

Page 38 ASTROLOGICAL BULLETINA

spirational nature and inclination for law, philosophyand religion. The mystical planet Neptune is beneficial to spiritual growth and the greatest expansionof his consciousness will arise from experiences ofa psychic or spiritual nature which we would have greatdifficulty, if not reticence in describing to others.Childish experiences of this nature and childish imaginations and dreams should be treated with the utmost respect and consideration and if parents sometimes do not understand what a child is trying toexplain, they should be most careful never to ridiculeor tell the child “It’s nonsense,” because they cannotknow what wonderful results these “dreams” willhave in later years. Many children display clairvoyant powers, which are misunderstood and injured byparents who do not comprehend the experiences theirchildren are having.

MARS TRINE JUPITER.

This child loves freedom and independence and willnot be imposed upon; will chafe under restrictionsunless the reason is explained. When he decides onany course of action, he will enter it with vim, confidence and enthusiasm, and imbue others with hisown spirit and inspire them to action. This aspectis fortunate for friendships and for the realizationof wishes; but it inclines to extravagance where theyare concerned and he should be taught that, as hisplanets incline to recklessness and over-liberality, heshould avoid going to extremes.

MARS SEMI-SQUARE SATURN.

From this chart it appears that self-control is thekeynote of what this child should be taught; it is thesupreme lesson that he should learn if he would besuccessful and find satisfaction in life. Mars in thethird, house of the conscious mind, is adverse to SatGºGºRº

urn, governing the person himself and his money; thisis most unfavorable for One who has not learned topractice entire self control and inclines one to saymore than is wise, in sarcasm and bitterness, or to beviolent under great provocation. There is danger oftrouble and disagreement with relatives and financialloss through them, especially troubles with wife'sbrothers. The Moon afflicted near the cusp of eighthhouse shows little chance of receiving legacy, or, Of

one was received, there is probability of its beingwasted on pleasure, or lost through speculations.

MARS OPPOSITION URAN U.S.

This aspect gives an inclination to be erratic, eccentric, irritable, or too enthusiastic and forceful attimes. This arises from an over-wrought conditionof the nerves and he should endeavor to be calm andnot so rashly inclined; so again we see that self control is the main lesson this child should learn. Hecan learn anything else with no trouble at all, he hassuch a marvelous mind, but self control will requirereal effort and constant perseverance. Most eventsin his life will be sudden and unexpected and theremay be legal difficulties, possibly over inheritance ormarital affairs.

JUPITER SEXTILE U RAN U.S.

The beneficent aspect of Jupiter sextile Uranus willaid him greatly in overcoming the adverse tendenciesmentioned in preceding paragraph, because of thegreat interest and aptitude this gives him for metaphysical and occult subjects. He should becomeprominent through doing something new, daring, original or inspired, and the more impersonal he becomes, the greater will be his accomplishments. he must not stop at these, but go on higher—something of the Universal is his destiny.

JUPITER SQUARE NEPTUNE.

This unfavorable aspect indicates that some of the

faculties represented by this square, such as superstition, self esteem and personal pride need to be spiritualized and transmuted into higher attributes such ascharity and compassion. He should cultivate the exact and precise virtues, such as accuracy in speech,

promptness in all duties, especially financial obligations, for there is a tendency to carelessness in suchmatters. In speech he is liable to be carried away by

his feelings. There is some possibility of deceptionon the part of friends or relatives, which could involve either finances, or correspondence; in speculation he is more likely to lose than gain.

REMARKS.

His health will be variable; sickness caused through

stomach trouble and feverish complaints. However,

his constitution will be strong, and he is apt to liveto old age, his personality and projects improving

with years. -

He is capable of acquiring a good education andshould be sent to college and allowed to choose hisvocation in professional lines. He would make anexcellent lawyer or editor.

Quest. : ——What is the best time to trim hair andnails to improve growth?—L. D.

or Pisces, the benefit is enhanced. Those who arebothered with ingrowing nails should be careful neverto trim the nails during decrease (going down) ofMoon, i. e., from Full to New, or in other words, during third and fourth quarter.

Yº Yº Yºr

Quest.:–Why is there from 1 to 3 days discrepancybetween the Moon's Signs as given in Astrologicalworks and common Almanacs.-Subscriber.

Ans.: —Astronomers calculate the Moon's place notin the Zodiac but in the Constellations, which is a beltwith the same names but is not coincident with theZodiac, there being a difference of as much as sixty •

hours in advance. Almanacs usually give the Moon'splace as per the Constellations, which are incorrectfor planting or other Astrological places.

If seed is planted when the Almanac says Moon inCancer (a very fruitful Sign) it will not produce theOxpected results because the Moon in actuality is inthe SIGN Gemini (a very barren sign.)

Many farmers, not knowing about this difference, who tried planting only by the common Almanacs, have given the attempt up in disgust. But if theyhad planted according to the Moon's Sign as givenAstrologically they would have met with the beneficial results that thousands of others have gained whoused the moon's signs correctly.

This matter is treated fuhther on page 44 of the 1921“Plantenary Daily Guide.”

Quest.—To what planet should I pray to be healedof a sickness? Subscriber A. O. S.

a

Ans.—Do not pray to any planet. Pray to thatwhich you know as God. But pray at an auspicioustime, i. e., when the air is impregnated with harmonious influences for the matter desired. In thecase of a sickness first choose a day when the Moonis in conjunction or in sextile or trine with the planetthat rules the part of body mainly affected and thenchoose the hour of that day for your prayerful meditation which is ruled by that same planet. For instance,if afflicted by some disarrangement of the action of theliver choose the days of good aspects to the planetJupiter and on those days meditate, pray and auto-suggest in the planetary hours of Jupiter. If troubledwith the knees, choose a day when the Moon is Sextile or trine to Saturn.

On days when such planet is adversely aspected bya square or opposition little or no headway can bemade in the overcoming of the trouble and the student may feel well pleased if no ground from previous effort is lost, but if any attempt is made at Concentration it should be in the hours ruled by beneficplanets but not in the hour of the one afflicted.

Another good way to treat through zodiacal influence is to note each day the sign which the Moonoccupies and the part of the human body ruled by thatgººg.gºgº.gººgººgººdºº

Sign should be treated by auto-suggestion in the hoursof the day ruled by the planet which rules the Signthat the Moon thus Occupies. As the Moon transitsthrough the twelve signs in one month every part ofthe body is treated in orderly succession. Prayer, meditation and suggeston are powerful factors whenutilized at the proper times.

To study parts of the body ruled by the twelvezodiacal signs and the planets the student will findalmost any text-book of astrology useful.

NATURE.

Are railroad accidents subject to a periodic law? Afew years ago they became so common that it washighly dangerous to enter a train. Then there was aninterval Of comparative safety and now we hear of accidents everywhere once more. What Mendelexieff willreveal to us the law which governs these recurrentcalamities and thus make possible a remedy?—TheOregonian, July 16, 1911.

All events that transpire are the effect of NaturalLaw. The causes proceed from planetary influences ofwhich Astrology is the interpreter, and a proper studyof this science will do much to reveal the workings ofthe causes to the extent that in the course of time, asthe human family develops its latent powers, the effectswill be diverted from destruction to construction, ignorant subjection will become intelligent direction. Astrology points the way. -

IMPORTANT INGRESS AND LUNAT) on.FEBRUARY 17, 1912.

Marking the Actual Birth of the New Age.

To the uninitiated it means nothing unusual, but tothe occult student it is an event of tremendous imporrt.

On this date thé planet Uranus returns to its rulingsign, Aquarius, and enters it for the first time in about84 years, and, as the Sun, by movement of “precession,” has also just entered that constellation, thismarks the real birth of the Aquarian age!

A notable coincident tending to make this a dayof great import is the fact that the Moon, by itsmonthly transit, will be in the sign Aquarius, and theSun, by its apparent yearly transit, will also be in thissign, and the two luminaries will be in conjunction.

&GN&CRGK:GKG&Gººgº.g;Page 46 ASTROLOGICAL BULLETINA

This is the day of “new moon,” and the Chinese “NewYear,” and the celebration among the “Celestials” willcontinue over a period of from a week to ten days,Starting with that day. Business among the Chinesewill be practically suspended during the celebration, even the laborers dropping their work to enjoy theseries of fetes which will be held at the different Chinese mercantile stores, and other habitations.

It would seem, therefore, that their “new year,” falling on a day of a great new world cycle, portends thatChina is destined to become the most free, liberal andadvanced race on the earth during the reign of Uranusin the next 2160 years. “The first shall be last and thelast shall be first.” Verily, it looks as though the“heathen” Chinese will have his inning!

Adepts the world over will consecrate this day tothe influx of Uranian vibrations, and henceforth let noAstrologer straggle behind in the march of progressby again calling Saturn the ruler of Aquarius, forUranus has come into his own and will prove hisclaim to the rights and title of ruler of this sign byhis works hereafter!

This date marks the beginning of a new cycle suchas has not occurred for about 25,000 years.

Another noticeable sidereal incident is that Venusis the next planet to enter into this sign about a weekafter the lunation. -

Aquarius is symbolized as a man emptying a waterewer and Venus’ entry at this time (being also welcomed by a trine of the Moon), is portentious that inthe new age woman will play an important part in themarch of progress. She will attain a position of busi- .

ness and political equality and will also insert a refin- iting and beautifying influence into the affairs of domes- :

*GººgASTROLOGICAL BULLETINA Page 47

tic and political economy. She will have much to doin the elevation of art and promotion of public morals.

THE VALUE OF ASTROLOGY LIES IN ITS ABILITY TO AID IN DEVELOPING THE WEALTH INHERENT AND EMBODIED IN EACH INDIVIDUAL.

“Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven and its righteousness and all these things shall be added untoyou.”

Properly interpreted, this means seek right-us-ness,not necessarily religiousness, but to do things rightly, that is, do everything at a harmonious rate of vibration so that the doing of it brings satisfaction or content; do things at a Right Time so that the resultswill be most fruitful, and all things shall be addedunto you in proportion to your rightness. Heavenis harmony; “The kingdom of heaven is within” whenharmony is within.

-

All things added means that which makes for ourunfoldment, our development, our enlightenment, ourhappiness and our well-being, for it is these thingsadded together which makes the sum total of a successful life.

To seek the chimera of riches first is likely to leadone to miss the golden opportunities which are the reward of merit exercised in legitimate channels. Financial wealth is temporal but the reward of endeavorrightly directed is spiritual wealth and is an asset ofeverlasting value.

Therefore, seek first to utilize to the highest extentthe talents with which you are endowed. Learn to express right-us-ly the kingdom of heaven within andfruitful will be the results of your efforts; you will

gather the harvest every day and will have bountyenough to give liberally to any fellow being who mayneed temporary assistance to regain equilibrium lostby failure to recognize or understand THE LAW. Andit is to these ends that Astrology points the way.Seek and ye SHALL find.

REVOLUTIONS.

The annual revolution is based upon a chart madefor the exact time that the Sun in ephemeris for current year returns to identically the same degree andminute of longitude it occupied at birth. The testimonies by position and aspects of planets amongthemselves in such a chart, as well as their relationor aspects to radical planets, etc., indicate the general conditions for the year to follow.

The lunar revolution, as above, is based upon theMoon's return to its exact radical place monthly.

The daily revolution is based upon the time of theradical ascending sign and degree returning to be theascendant and the testimonies thereof indicate thegeneral trend of affairs for the following twenty-fourhours. All such testimonies as those derived fromthese three charts must coincide with indications inthe nativity, otherwise they must be rejected or ignored, for nothing must be predicted from them thatis not promised by evidence in the nativity.

PROFECTION.

Profection is a moving, proeeeding or going forward, and in the Doctrine of Nativities signifies a regularº

cºASTROLOGICAL BULLETINA Page 49

and orderly change of the planets from one sign to another; and of the cusps of houses (in your nativity)out of one sign into another, according to the succession of signs. In nativities it is threefold, viz., annual, mensurnal and diurnal, i. e., yearly, monthly and daily.

The annual profection was by adding one whole signfor each eyar to your radical ascendant, using exactlythe same degree and minute always, as at birth.

The mensurnal profection is made by adding onesign per month to the ascendant at birth.

In the daily profection, each sign succeeding that ofthe radix is held to continue for the ascendant profectional after birth two days, three hours and fiftyfour minutes. -

This method of prediction has fallen into desuetudeand has given way to the more modern methods ofprogressing a horoscope; nevertheless it remains stillinteresting for investigation by students of inquiringmind, as much of truth will be found therein.

A TRUE FANTASY.

Observers of the starry realm are often brought tothink that the heavenly orbs are working stupendousschemes which sometimes unite them to produce acommon end or casts them into seeming conflict, whileat other times they appear in playful, tricky moods tothe delight of onlookers.

Only last night (April 14, 1911) while spying on these“sparks of the sky” and listening with ear clairaudient,I heard Jupiter speak in tones meant to be gentle andloving, yet really with the roar of thunder: “Oh, beautiful Luna, it is indeed with joy that I again beholdGººgººººººººººººººººººººººººººººººººººº.

&cºgeePage 50 ASTROLOGICAL BULLETINA

your lovely face. Come, come to my arms that I maysuitably embrace the mistress of the earthly sphere.Full twenty-eight days have passed since last you cameand brightened us with your smile. Look, child, beingretrograde, I hasten to meet you! Hurry; let us proceed to zodiacal conjunction, for the night is far spentand there is much to do.”

Then in sweet, silvery tones gentle Luna replied:“Great Jove, I come with cosmic speed, but I am slowin motion this eve. (When going more than 13 degrees, 10 minutes, 36 seconds she is swift in motion.)Your jovial voice thrills me with mystic delight, andfrom your ponderous vibrations, I gather fruitful inspiration, which I will gladly bestow on Terra (theearth) when next I am in Perigee, for am I not hisonly satelite?”

“Truly said, little one, but while I disport eightmoons, none are so great as you. Listen; we are inthe mansion of the Scorpion, a delighter in moisture.Thou, being cold and moist in nature, I, warm andmoist, should easily gather the elements from hereabouts and drop them on Terra while yet he sleeps."Twill be a frolic of the planets!”

“A most delightful pastime, oh mighty Jupiter, andI join with glee.”

And then was heard the sweet music of the spheres, the atmosphere began to expand, the air grew heavierand heavier with moisture until, overburdened, it gently spread it upon the earth and sprayed the surfacegenerously, not as rain, but exquisite dew.

But hark! discordant against melody a chilling voiceis heard; ’tis a sound from envious Saturn mutteringdeeply to himself, “Such foolish capers are not to myliking. Luna is a lunatic, and Jove, well, he seems&ge

drunk with infatuation. Think they that I stand idlyin the sky? I, too, have magic and will pit it againstthem and frustrate the gleeful plans. I will bow theirknees in sorrow and fill their breast with dismay.

“Here, underling,” he cried, for he bore no great loveto Mercury, who perchance was traveling nigh, andwho, being in the sign of Luna's exaltation (Taurus),was looking intently across at the “lesser light” andthe “greater fortune,” watching their actions withconsiderable interest, if not with pleasure, for he is afriend to both, but at Saturn's terrifying command hecame to himself with a start, for Mercury’s nature isneutral and must lend power to whom it is nearest inthe sky, and, being also quite diplomatic, he answeredvery blithly, “Aye, aye, sir, I am at your command, ohPrince of Darkness.”

“Knowest thou that we are in zodiac opposition toyonder mawks?” he said, pointing disdainfully at theplanets in Scorpio, while Mercury shook his head invigorous assent, for no such knowledge ever escapedhis perceptive mind.

“Besides,” continued Saturn, “you are in your own‘terms,’ semi-sextile to one of your mansions (Gemini)and trine to Virgo, the other, while T in this sign amin one of a nature like my own (earthly), and alsotrime to my own domain, Capricorn; therefore our jointforces are most powerful, so pay you heed to my designs and go forth as messenger of the gods and voicemy commands to all active elements near the Earth, thusly, “Saturn bids you grasp the falling dew, cool it,crystallize it and turn it to frost.’” And with asatanic smile he dismissed Mercury and settled backto watch the results of his dark plot.

The messenger performed his work speedily andwell, and soon the earth was covered with a mantle&Gººººººººººººººººººººººººººººº;

of white like unto Snow.

And Terra, in sleep, trundled on, for he had manymiles yet to turn on his axis before completing hisprescribed revolution of 25,000 miles in 24 hours, andto travel 18% miles in orbit per second also and keepthings cool at the poles is no small feat either asleepor awake.

But soon the Sun, lord of day and ruler of thisplanetary system, began making an appearance at theeastern horizon, and, glancing quickly around the skyand over the earth, he commenced to smile, and smile, and smile, and then he smiled again. “How well theyhave each performed their work,” he beamed, “andto make it all the more beneficent I will embue it withlife.” And straightway the frost began to move andchange and descend down into the ground whereeager worms and little bugs drank their fill, whileflowers and trees partook their share and all proceeded to manifest their thanks in their own various ways, for it was Spring and all was well.

LIGHT PHILOSOPHY.

Between loads going up a ladder with the hod adiscussion arose between Pat and Mike, as to whichluminary was most essential and beneficial to thewelfare of man.

“Be gorry an it’s the Sun,” said Pat, “for it givesus the greatest light.”

“No, be gobbers, it’s the Moon,” said Mike, “for itgives us light at night, when we need it most andain't got any.”

ASTROLOGICAL FRAGMENTS.By Her Royal Highness Princess Olive of Cumberland.

Fragment the First.

Some of the most celebrated philosophers of oldwere united in opinion that the hosts of the firmamentwere the harbingers of good and evil below. Seth, thefather of Astrology, left several mementos of his scientific researches, which were engraven on stone andwhich laid the foundation of this part of occult science. Thus, from an era nearly equal with the origin of theworld, we have evidence that the patriarchal sagesesteemed this knowledge an attainment of the mostdesirable and magnificent kind. There can be verylittle ground for doubting but that Joseph in Egypt, then the chief seat of learning, was enabled by hisskill in Astrology, to acquire the favor of Pharaoh byproviding for the emergencies of the Egyptian state,in the manner recorded in Holy Writ. The insightinto the future destiny of his sons, whom he judgedof and blessed, previously to his death, was also, aswe may very well believe, drawn by his father Jacob, from the configurations of the heavenly bodies at thetimes of their several nativities.

States and empires, at their (planets) ungenial infuence, are crumbled into dust, and by their smilie themost humble are raised to the loftiest summit ofearthly glory. Thus, continually on their course, theyperform the great and extraodinary offices allotted tothem severally by the Supreme, with a diligence, obedience and promptitude beyond the finite comprehension of the mortal man. How ignorant and pred

juced, then, must that man be, and how crude thatunderstanding, which condemns a science in whichthe wisest and greatest king on earth, even Solomon, delighted. Of all studies occult philosophy requiresthe most temperate and industrious habits of life, for not an hour passes that does not produce some interersting variation in the heavens, and some consequent changes on the earth. But to pursue the motions of the planets with effect a philosopher mustlet no opportunity escape him of observation andimprovement.

Comets, too, have been seen to be forerunners sometimes of especial good, but more frequently of excessive evil. Thus a comet or blazing star may be presumed to have guided the magi, or wise men of the east,to Bethlehem, as recorded with solemnity in the NewTestament. The downfall of many states has beenforeshown by prodigious sights seen in the air. Jerusalem, Egypt, Rome and many other regions, declare asmuch, and indeed all strange and unusual apparitionsof this nature are generally followed by direful effects,

HERE IS A BOOK THAT IS DIFFERENT

It does not waste your time with useless details butkells you in few words, what to do and how to do itand after reading the book you are not left in the darkas to how to proceed to prove its claims to be true.

It tells you just what DOES cause disease and it tellsyou how to prove it. It tells you what you MUST DOif you would avoid sickness and it tells you how toprove that, too. It positively enables you to demonStrate that there is but ONE CAUSE AND ONE CUREFOR PRACTICALLY ALL DISEASE, aside from thatcaused by injury.

This book describes a drugless method of curingdisease that has been in constant use for almost aquarter of a century and which in that time has demonstarted its complete superiority over all other methodsnow in use. The method of treatment is purely physical in its application, is applied with the two handsalone and insofar as I have ever been able to learn, has been practiced by just two persons, myself andone other.

However, I have demonstrated beyond a question ofdoubt that others, laymen as well as professionalpeople, may learn to apply this treatment with entireSuccess and it is to tell them how to do so that Ihave written this book. In fact, I builded better thanI knew, in writing it, for I have repeatedly been toldby purchasers that they regard it as the most remarkable little book on the subject of health that they haveever read.

-

Many of my sales are made to people to whom thebook has been recommended by former purchasers. Agoodly percent of my sales are made to professionalpeople, who understand perhaps better than laymen, that all methods of treatment in use today, striveprimarily to bring about a condition of RELAXATIONwithin the body of the patient. When they understandand are able to demonstrate that the method described

in my book is 100% efficient in bringing about thiscondition it will readily be understood why they likethe book.

-

I sell the book strictly on its merits at $5.00 a copy, with the distinct understanding that if after using it,the purchaser is in any way dissatisfied with it, he mayreturn it to me and I will promptly refund his money.I firmly believe that you will like the book immenselyand I am very confident that you have never seenany—even remotely similar. I earnestly solicit yourinvestigation.

Sincerely yours,Ralph Collier Wright, D. C. Ph. C.

5:20 P. M.March 17th, 1921.

Dear Mr. Llewellyn George:I have used your “Moon's Sign Book” since last

January, (1920), and have planted during the wholetime since rather frequently. Everyone wants to know‘how we do it,” when they see the flowers and vegetables that my mother and I raise. Of course we havethe essential sympathy with the plants and take careto furnish them with the best cultural conditions, butthat isn’t the Secret of our invariable success; thereal Secret lies in the fact that we make use of favorable planetary influences.

My mother strongly objected to planting accordingto the Moon's signs, but she has become convincedthat it's better to watch the signs than to have unaccountable failures every so often, so she now workswith me and plants when signs are favorable.

One of the queerest things about it, is that transplanting in Pisces, Cancer or Scorpio, the leaves donot wither; in fact they remain quite turgid, and Settledown in their new environment as if they were “born”there. Of course, we water them properly, but evenwater doesn't avail if plants are moved during wrong#1gil S.

People come to buy flowers from us from a distance. We are planning to make our living with flowers someday. In the meantime we are really grateful to Mr.Llewellyn George for making the facts available to usin reference to the Moon's Signs, through “The Planetary Daily Guide for All.”

Sincerely,Gladys Pitner Pullen.

HOW PLANETS AFFECT PEOPLEBy Llewellyn George

A new book which tells in an interesting and instructive manner just how the planets do affect people. People often wonder how a planet which looks like a littlespeck in the sky, apparently millions of miles away, canhave any influence upon human mind and destiny.

This book gives the philosophy of planetary vibrationsand tells why one person is affected at one time—whiletheir brother or wife or some one else is not; why oneperson may be inclined in certain directions and another in opposite or different directions. How planetaryvibrations affect the mind and how the mind can react. How life and destiny can be improved.

A book full of idea-producing chapters, all written ina clear and concise manner so that the reader will havea better understanding of natural phenomena and of thecauses which underlie feelings, tendencies, moods, thoughts, acts, fate and destiny, and be inspired toimprove the life by the added knowledge—“Knowledgeis POWer.”

SCIENCE OF NAMES AND NUMBERSBy Dr. Joseph Perry Green

We consider it extreme good fortune to havefound just the kind of lessons that we would wantto recommend to the many enquirers concerningnames and numbers.

These lessors are complete, very concise, and simplypresented, showing the numerical value of each letter inthe alphabet, and how to find the number vibration ofany name. If your environment is inharmonious withyour name, changes can be figured which will conduce toharmony in occupation, location, friends and marriage.

For instance, about twelve years ago when Istarted my magazine, I named it Astrological Bulletin, which equals 11; but finding that 11 did notharmonize with my own name, which equals 6, itwas necessary to change the name. Investigationquickly showed that the number 3 would harmonize and also exactly describe the type of magazine. Astrological Bulletin came to 11 ; by adding A or 1 it coined a new word: “Bulletina,”equals 12, or 1 plus 2 equals 3, and so the “Bulletina” was uniquely christened.

These “Lessons in Names and Numbers” arenicely typewritten on 18 full size pages. Price$2.00. Address:Llewellyn Publishing Co., Box 1368, Los Angeles, Calif.
