As a part of the International day for Nurses, we, the staff and students of
Sumandeep nursing college, observed the day in the Lecture hall through a
program on Nurses day from 12:00md to 1:oopm

THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS:
Staffs and Students
On 12.05.2015, being the International day for nurses, we the staffs
and students of Sumandeep nursing college had organized a short and
simple nurse’s day program.
The in charge principal, Mr Suresh V, presided over as the main dignitary for
the function along with senior faculty members and a host of other staffs.
The program begins with a prayer song by Ms. Mittal and team followed by
lighting of the lamp and declaring the Nurses Day theme open
Mr. Suresh V the acting principal of
the college inaugurated the theme of
the program. He elaborated on the
theme “Nurse: a force to change care
effective and cost effective”, he gave a
motivational speech to boost the noble
nursing profession
Ms. Binita of 3rd
year BSc
nursing gave an
orientation speech on
nurses day. She covered
on the significance of
nurse’s day.
MsPinkal being a senior student also represented the PG. department of the
college and briefed everyone about the life of Florence nightingale

nightingale. They
reiterated on the golden
quote,“if you save a life,
you are a hero but if you
save 100lives then you
are a nurse”
Mr. Kevin Christian came up with a beautiful presentation , the first one
being a PowerPoint presentation on the theme of the international day for
nurses. During his presentation, he also covered sensitive topics’ like staff
shortage in India and its remedies through the currently determined theme of
the nurses day Thereafter, he presented an animated video on the life of
Florence nightingale. This was well applauded by all staffs and students alike.
The host, Stephen Jacob, invited Mr. Jonils Macwan, a PG student of the
institute who is deputed by the IndianRailways. The host requested him to
throw light on nursing in publicsector. After doing so, Mr. Jonils Macwan
briefed about various awards by the Indian govt. who acknowledges the hard
work of nurses and the president of the country handed them awards on
nurses’ day every year. He also wished everyone to be eligible for this award
sometime ahead in the future.
The last activity was Sheroshayari , which is a dominant habit in social
functions in India. Mrs. DivyabenTrivedi of 2nd
year M.sc nursing who is
an expert on that, was called upon. She gave beautiful shayaris in Hindi,
Gujarati and Urdu. It was enjoyed by one and all.
Finally, Ms.RitaThapa was called to give the vote of thanks. She thanked
everyone for being a part of the program and particularly thanked those who
shared the space on the stage.
The program concluded with the university song “Sumandeep ke
Jyotirdhar” lead by Ms. Kisha and team.
