Survey report on "NUTRITIONAL, STATUS OF WOMEN" organized in Sawarewali

Gaon and Jambhul Gaon.

AREA: Sawarewadi gaon and Jambhul gaon DATE: 29" June 2016 TOTAL NO. OF INDIVIDUALS SURVEYED: 122

Survey on "NUTRITIONALL STATUS OF WOMEN" was organized in

collaboration with WEC, NSS and Micobiology Department on 28" and 29" June 2016.

Following points are studied fro1 survey:

I. Most of the women are housewives having maximum 3-4 children.

2. According to survey most of the families were observed to be non vegetarians although

with loW consumption.

3. Consunption of milk, milk products, meat, chicken, eggs is vei

Whercas no fruit consumption, by women from Sawarewadi gaon.

4. Tea and coffee consumption is normal i.c. 1-2 cup/day. 5. All the families use direct tap waler for drinking purpose in Sawarewadi gaon whereas

boiled and filtered waler was usced by some families in Jambhul gaon.

6. Some of the ladies have mninor illnesses like pain, headache etc. whether some have

diabetes, B.P., typhoid and irregularity in menstrual cycle.

7. Most of the ladies have habit of tobaeco snuffing (3-6 times/day) which is harmlul.

Overall, after the study of survey it is concluded that, women in both Sawarewadi and

Jambhul gaon needs awareness regarding hygienie practices, balanced diet, nutrition

clc.

Future work includes conducting awareness rally in both Sawarewadi and Jambhul

gaon.

Report of Inaugural Function of WECC Held on 21 September, 2016

1. Women Empowerment Cell was Inaugurated on 21 September, 2016,

Wednesday for the academic year 2016-17 in N. Shankaran Nair

Memorial Auditorium, 3 Floor.

2. The function was started from 11:15 a.m. onwards.

3. Dr. Bharti J. Chatterjee (Obstetrician & Gynecologist) and Dr. Joydeep

Chatterjee (General Surgeon & Laproscopist) was the Chief Guest of the

Programme.

4. The programme was hosted by Ms. Shanti Mudaliar from Self-finance

Department, programme commenced with welcoming of Chief Guest and

Principal Sir.

5. After a warm welcome of the dignitaries, Lighting of auspicious lamp was

escorted by the Chairperson of W.E.C. Mrs. Shweta Humbarwadi, Principal

and the Chief guest.

6. Felicitation of Chief Guest was done by Principal Sir with a Tulsi plantand

Principal Sir was also felicitated by the Chairperson of W.E.C.

7. After Felicitation, Principal Sir gave a brief introductory speech regarding

W.E.C. and its need in the College.

8. Mrs. Shweta Madam from Micro-Biology Department, the Chairperson of

W.E.C. introduced the Chief Guest by sharing her achievements with the

audience.

9. Dr. Bharti Chatterjee (Chief Guest) addressed the audience i.e. the girls of

our College through PPT, she discussed on the issues relating to

menstruation cycle, premenstruation, normal and abnormal issues in MC,

precautions and nutritional diet to be followed. Foods to avoid and also

exercises to be practiced to avoid side effects of MC e.g. being Aneamic etc.

10. After the delivery of lecture by Dr. Bharti, there was an open discussion

held to sort out the personal problems of girls, which was actively supported

and participated by the girls and our lecturers (in absence of any gents staff).

11. Our Principal Sir honored the Chief Guest with small Gift as memory of the

Institution.

12. The session was ended by a formal vote of Thanks, which was proposed by

Mrs. Aruna Kadam Madam from Commerce & Self-finance department.

13. The Inaugural function concluded with the National Anthem.

. Women Empowerment cell organized a movie show-PADMAN on 23rd Feb 2018 at

11.30am to 2.00 pm in Auditorium. 2. Show was organized to create awareness regarding Sanitary

menstrual cycle. 3. Mrs. Shweta Humbarwadi talked with the girl students about the disorders and diseases

related to unhygienic practices in menstrual cycle. 4. For the more information WEC showed a movie related to sanitary napkin invention

Report on Celebration of International women's day

8 march 2018, Thursday

I. Women Empowerment Cell was celebrated International Women's Day on 8 march

2018, Thursday in N. Shanakaran Nair Memorial Auditorium, 3 Floor.

2. The function was started from 10:00 a.m. onwards.

3. Mr. Bhushan Karandikar, News Anchor, Zee 24 taas and Nayab Tehshildar Mr. Koshti

sir from Ambarnath taluka were the Chief Guests of the Programme.

4. The programme was hosted by Ms. Shanti Mudaliar from Self-finance Department,

programme commenced with welcoming of Chief Guests and Principal Sir.

5. After a warm welcome of the dignitaries, Lighting of auspicious lamp was escorted by

the Chairperson of W.E.C. Mrs. Shweta Humbarwadi, Principal and the Chief Guest.

6. Felicitation of Chief Guest was done by Principal Sir with a Tulsi plant and Principal Sir

was also felicitated by the Chairperson of W.E.C.

7. Introduction of chief Guest given by Ms. Shanti Mudaliar madam.

8. After Felicitation, Chief Guest Mr. Bhushan Karandikar addressed the audience with his

inspirational talk. He highlighted on the current issues related to women's and he shared

his experiences with girls.

9. Mrs. Shweta Madam from Micro-Biology Department, the Chairperson of W.E.C.

express gratitude towards the Chief Guest.

10. Mr, Koshti Sir, Nayab Tehshildar, Ambarnath distributed Voters ID to girl students

discussed about women rights in election. He advised all girls to fill electoral form and

Menstrual hygine management and use of biodegradable chemical free

Sanitary napkins"Held on 22d January, 2019, Tuesday.

As decided by the Women Development Cell, girl studentsstaffs (Male and Female

both) from all the departments (BA, Plain B.Sc, B.Sc Microbiology, CS, IT, B.Com, BBI, BAF, BMS) were made to attend the session on the above topic at Shri.Shankaran Nair Auditorium, sharp at 8:30 am.

Chief guest Dr.Haridwar Patil (MD,Spandan Hospital, Kalyan and Founder member of Step up India Foundation), Ward Councilor Mr.Subhash Salunkhe (Ambarnath East), Mrs.Suvarna Salunkhe (Founder of Samvad Foundation, Ambarnath East), ), Mra.Ajay Pawar (Distributor) were welcomed by Chair person of Women Development Cell Asst Prof. Shweta Humbarwadi Madam. She gave brief introduction of the above said dignitaries and felicitated them by giving Tulsi plant as a token of love and appreciation.

The program was at its peak when the Chief guest Dr.Haridwar Patil Sir spoke on the

topic of Menstrual Cycle, period of 28 days,health issues due to use of cloth and various sanitary

napkins, their manufacturing materials, its ill affect on health, types of cancers araising due to

use of such harmful chemicals etc. He explained every questions raised by the students and

sastisfied they knowledge. After the lecture Mr. Subhash Salunkhe Sir, Mrs.Suvarna Salunkhe Madam, Mr. Ajay

Pawar Sir told the importance of using biodegradable chemical free sanitary napkins and also showed the harmful affect of using chemical based napkins to the environment when dumped. It ended with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Asst Prof.Shanti Mudaliar Madam followed bv National Anthem. The session was very useful for the students as well as the sta

REPORT

Awareness program on "MENSTRUAL HYGIENE AND CERVICAL CANCER"

1. Awareness program on "Menstrual hygiene and cervical cancer" was organized on the

occasion of Krantijyoti Savitrubai Phule Jayanti on 4h January 2020 at 9.00 am -

1.30 am in Room No.30.The program was organized by WDC, NSS and BMS

department of the college.

2. Chief Guest and Speaker of the program:

1. Speaker: Dr. Bharti Chatterjee (MBBS, MD, DGO, DFP, FCPS)

Consulting Obstetrician and Gynecologist

Sai Krupa Hospital, Badlapur (W.)

2. Dr.Joydeep Chatterjee (MD)

General Surgeon

Sai Krupa Hospital, Badlapur (W.)

3. The committee informed all girl students and staff regarding the activity through notices

one day before the activity.

4. Asst. Prof. Shanti Mudaliar, a committee member of WDC started the program with the

welcoming of a guest. After the lightening of lamp and felicitation, she conveyed the

outline of the programme to girls and introduced the chief guest.

5. 1/c. Principal Harshal M.Bachhav sir guided the students and explained the purpose to

organize such an awareness program.

6. Chief Guest Dr. Bharti Chatterje, Mestrual cycle explained in detail with a PowerPoint

presentation. She further discussed the problems related to menstruation and talked on

hygienic practices. She gave the direction to girls on how to maintain the cleapliness of

genital organs during menstruation.

7. The importance of the use of sanitary napkins and its proper disposal was also discussed

with girls.

8. Madam discussed the details of Polycystic Ovarian Disease problem which is more

frequently observed in young girls.

9. She also explained the causes, symptoms, and precautions regarding cervical cancer and

also the importance of vaccination.

10. After the talk question-answer session was successfully done in which the speaker

satisfactorily solved the doubts of students.

11. Teachers and students gave their positive feedback regarding the program.

12. About 125 girl students and 15 ladies staff get the benefit of the lecture.

13. Vote of thanks proposed by WDC chairperson Asst. Prof. Shweta Humbarwadi.

14. The program was concluded with the national anthem.

3. The committee informed all girl students and staff regarding the activity through notices

one day before the activity i.e. on 24th January 2020.

4. Asst. Prof. Muddasar Sayyad, a Programme officer of NSS started the program with the

welcoming of a guest. After the felicitation of guests, he conveyed the outline of the

program to girls and introduced the Resource person.

5. Resource person Mr. Tevar explained the purpose of training and different situations

where one can get the benefit of this training. He demonstrated about 20 basic techniques

to all girl students.

6. All the techniques practiced by girl students under the observation of both resource

person.

7. Ms.Prerna Jadhav Madam neatly explained each and every technique to all girls. She

also demonstrated some useful techniques and gave some important tips to the girls.

8. After the Demonstration session student's doubts are also cleared by both resource

persons.

9. 1/c. Principal Harshal M.Bachhav sir guided the students and explained the purpose to

organize such a training program. He also suggested that WDC can organize a small

session on self-defense every month forth Saturday. 10. Teachers and students gave their positive feedback regarding the program. They

expressed their views regarding the program.

11. About 80 girl students and 10 ladies staff get the benefit of the lecture.

12. Vote of thanks proposed by WDC committee member Asst. Prof. Shanti Mudaliar.

13. The program was concluded with the national anthem.
