This motorcycle tour runs through the peninsula of California from Los Angeles to Cabo San Lucasand vice versa ... where we will ride for 14 days in incredible places and practically every day we willsee the sea on our motorcycle.

You can see giant cactus, taste the authentic cuisine and an impressive landscape. Please keep inmind that you must add Mexican insurance for this tour.

Itinerary

1 - - Los Angeles - Welcome to Los Angeles. On the eve of this incredible journey you will meetup with your fellow riders for an orientation meeting at the hotel as weprepare to ride through some of the greatest and undisturbed desert roadsleft in North America. Your tour guide will provide you a thorough overview ofwhat to expect in the coming days and answer any last minute questions youmay have. I’m sure there may also be cold drink or two to be shared.

2 - Los Angeles - Ensenada - 341 After our welcome breakfast we pick up our motorcycles from our base.Shortly after we are on the road cruising south along the California coastlineto the border at Tijuana, Mexico. About an hour after we have entered Mexicowe will reach our final destination for today, the bustling port town ofEnsenada. Tonight we will enjoy a delicious gourmet dinner made fresh fromthe local catch. Watch the sunset over Ensenada Bay and it won’t take youlong to realize you are on the cusp of something special.

3 - Ensenada - Cataviña - 370 We head south on Mexico Highway 1 leaving the busy border towns behind aswe ride south. We dive deeper into Baja where Cirio trees and giant Cardoncacti begin to appear alongside the road. We enter the Vizcaino Desert, one ofthe most fascinating desert regions on this continent, and experienceexpansive views of boulder formations, rugged hills and dense desertvegetation. We arrive in Catavina just in time to watch the desert sunsetbehind huge boulders and Cardon cacti. We have a long ride tomorrow so besure to get a good night’s rest.

4 - Cataviña - San Ignacio - 613 Today we cross the state line from Baja Norte into Baja Sur. You will notice achange in landscape as we ride over several 3,000 foot summits, past flattopped volcanic cones and cactus covered hills into the charming pueblo SanIgnacio, an authentic desert oasis located at the bottom of a wide arroyo withdate palms and a natural spring fed pond where we overnight.

5 - San Ignacio - Loreto - 275 Ahead of us this morning is the massive ‘Volcan Las Tres Virgenes’ which tellsus the origin of recent lava flows around us. We descend Devils Grade, sevenmiles of switchbacks that take us down to the warm waters of the Sea ofCortez. Winding along the shores beautiful Bahia Conception, one furtherscenic delight of Baja California, with deep-blue waters, volcanic islands andisolated beaches. In the afternoon we reach Loreto which is the oldestSpanish settlement along the West Coast. The town offers a picturesquecentral plaza, shopping and a selection of excellent restaurants.

6 - Loreto - La Paz - 360 Today we continue on the highway 1, we will ride to the city of Constitucionwhere we will spto for lunch, afther lunch we keep riding to Loreto where wehave our hotel for this nigth.

7 - La Paz - Cabo San Lucas - 215 Under the shadow of Cerro del Venado we roll into San Jose del Cabo anddown the coast of Bahia San Lucas which was a favorite hiding place forpirates who laid in wait for Spanish treasure ships in the 16th and 17thcentury. Today our destination is the popular resort town of Cabo San Lucasand we are here to enjoy it all. Just before arriving in Cabo we get a view of‘Land’s End,' the southernmost tip of the Baja peninsula!

8 - Cabo San Lucas - Cabo San Lucas - 0Today we have the day off in Cabo San Lucas, where you can relax, read abook or take your bike to discover the area at your own. Tomorrow we willkeep riding our motorcycles.

9 - Cabo San Lucas - Los Barriles, Baja California Sur - 112 kmToday we will have a casual start allowing time in the morning to do someshopping or take in an early morning tour. From Cabo we will ride along thecoastal highway to the town of San Jose del Cabo where we will have lunchand visit the historic city. The city center offers many art galleries as well theMission San Jose del Cabo founded in 1730. We will also stop at the Tropic ofCancer Visitor Center before heading to our beach front resort in Los Barriles!

10 - Los Barriles, Baja California Sur - Loreto - 453 kmToday we ride! We'll take Hwy 1 through Ciudad Constitucion where we stopfor lunch. Our afternoon ride will take us east across the broad desertexpanse over to the coast of the Sea of Cortez and Loreto. Founded in 1697by Jesuit Missionaries, Loreto is the oldest Spanish settlement on the Bajapeninsula. On our way, we will ride some of the best twisty roads through themountains of Sierra de la Laguna to the picturesque historic mining town of ElTriunfo and one of the best coffee shops in Baja.

11 - Loreto - Guerrero Negro - 414 kmWe continue north on Mexico Highway 1 with Conception Bay on our right.We'll stop at one of the beautiful sandy coves where you can take a dip in thewarm waters. Lunch will be in the small village of Mulege, a cute traditionalMexican Town located at the mouth of a river. Back on the road we ride viaSanta Rosalia to San Ignacio where we take an ice cream break in the townplaza. From San Ignacio we continue across the barren Vizcaino desert to ourhotel in the town of Guerrero Negro, just south of the Baja California Sur stateborder. The area around Guerrero Negro is part of the El Vizcaino BiosphereReserve, designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993, whichencompasses bays, lagoons, vast expanses of the Sonoran Desert and therugged Sierra Mountains. Scammon's Lagoon is an important breeding andbirthing site for the California gray whale.

12 - Guerrero Negro - San Quintín - 404 kmOur ride continues north on Highway 1 through the vast desert landscape ofValle de los Cirios. The desert is full of a large variety plants including the Dr.Suess-looking Cirio tree. After a lunch stop in Catavina we wind through twistyroads back toward the Pacific coast and finally to our beach front hotel in SanQuintin where a beachside bonfire and cold drinks awaits us.

13 - San Quintín - Ensenada - 210 km We leave the beautiful beach of San Quintin and are on our way to Ensenada.The port city boasts a scenic setting, pleasant weather, duty free shopping,fine sport fishing and close proximity to the United States. Ensenada isfamous for it's fish tacos and Hussong's Cantina, Baja's oldest bar.Before wereach Ensenada, we will visit La Bufadora – a place the ocean waves getforced up through a crack in the cliffs and create a sizeable geyser. The areaaround La Bufadora is filled with shops and you will have a chance to try astuffed barbecued giant clam Baja-style! Enjoy your last evening south of theborder.

14 - Ensenada - Los Angeles - 363 km Today your trip will take you back into the United States. We take Hwy 3 outof Ensenada and enjoy a scenic ride through the vineyards of Valle deGuadalupe towards the Mexico/U.S. border at Tecate. Once back in the US,we’ll ride through some great motorcycle roads in the eastern San Diegocountryside as we make our way to the coast in San Diego. After a lunch stopwe'll head into Los Angeles. It is a bitter sweet feeling as it is now time toreturn our bikes at our location in LAX with images of Baja swirling in ourheads.

15 - Los Angeles - - 0 kmToday it is time to say good-bye to your newly-made friends. We hope to seeyou again for a new adventure on two wheels.
