NEW STUDENT FAQ

Where can I grab a bite to eat on campus?

There are tons of places to eat on campus! Sparky's Place, our dining hall, and The

Warrior's Den, which offers food on the go, are students' go-to places for every

meal. Some other quick options are Dunkin' Donuts, the Merrimack Food Truck,

Sanctuary Cafe, and the Library Cafe.

What's the best way to stay informed of events happening on campus?

One of the best ways to stay updated on campus events is checking The

Weekender! This newsletter is sent to students' Merrimack emails weekly, and it

includes every event, program, or meeting you can look forward to that weekend.

You can also follow the Office of Student Involvement's Instagram by clicking here.

How difficult are the classes? Am I going to be stressed?

College classes are definitely different than high school, and we can't promise they

won't come without their challenges and stressors! Merrimack does everything to

make sure you have the tools and support you need to be successful in your first

year. From tutoring and academic advising, to faculty office hours and study

groups, and so much more, we're ready to assist you at every step of the way.

What's the best way to meet new people and make friends?

Get involved! Whether you join a new club, try out for club sports, run for Student

Government, or even just attend a weekly event, you'll get to know so many new

faces! The majority of Warriors are involved in at least one club or organization on

campus, and it is the best way to meet people who have at least one thing in

common with you!

What are the weekends like?

Merrimack College prides itself on not being a "suitcase" school. Most students stay

at Merrimack through the weekends, even commuters, and the Office of Student

Involvement runs at least one program every weekend, keeping things fun!

Dunkin' Donuts, Hammel Court, and all things Athletics!

"VOLPE/MAC"

MAC. Order on-the-go from your dorm room and grab your morning coffee on the

way to class!

"DUNKS"

There's not one, but two Ham(m)el's on campus. The first is Hamel Health and

Counseling Center, located next to Monican Centre. The other is Hammel Court,

located in the MAC, where our Basketball and Volleyball teams compete!

"HAMEL/HAMMEL"

Also known as Royal Crest, this apartment complex is located across the street

from campus. Merrimack leases several apartments for residential students!

"ROYAL"

Also known as North Residential Village, this residence hall is located on the North

side of campus, near Crowe Hall, the Arcidi Center, and is home to the Sanctuary

Cafe and the Honors Program.

"NORTH"

MERRIMACK LINGO

30

Also known as the Sanctuary Cafe, this is like our on-campus Starbucks! It is

located in North, in front of Crowe Hall and the Arcidi Center. It offers a nice quiet

and cozy space for studying or hanging out.

"SANCTUARY"

Also known as South Residential Village, this residence hall is located on the

South side of campus, behind the Sak, and right next to The Hub and O'Brien Hall.

"NEW RES" OR "SOUTH"

The Hub is home the Office of Student Involvement, better known as OSI. This is

your go-to for fun on campus. Swing by to join a student club or organization!

"THE HUB" OR "OSI"

Merrimack’s best kept secret! Run by Campus Ministry, M.O.R.E. (Merrimack Out-

Reach Experience) is a student-led retreat program, designed to deepen relations

with other students and forge closer ties with the greater Merrimack community.
