Introduction to RMHCCI

RMHCCI History • 1984

• Kids At Heart was officially established

• 1985 • Construction on the House began

• 1986 • The House officially opened on February 15, 1986

• 1993 • Kids At Heart and the Ronald McDonald House merge to become Ronald

McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois

• 2001 • House went under a 4,470 square foot remodel

• 2011 • RMHCCI celebrated its 25 anniversary

• 2014 • Labor of Love Expansion & Renovation Project

• 2016 • New Five Year Strategic Plan passed; goal to add new House in Peoria

away from home for families with children

• Purpose:

• Monitoring and maintaining board-wide adherence

to governance best practices

• Onboarding and training new and existing board

members

• Guaranteeing steady board leadership

• Setting Goals

Finance Committee

• Purpose: • Recommending a budget aligned to the organization’s strategic

priorities

• Overseeing the organization’s financial resources

• Providing training or onboarding to ensure all board members

understand the organization’s finances

• Driving progress toward financial goals

• Ensuring financial compliance

• Identifying actions needed to resolve complex financial issues

• Purpose:

• Setting goals

• Leading the board’s culture of gift cultivation

• Motivating individual board members to get involved

in the development and acquisition of gifts

• Ensuring the board reaches its fundraising goals

Important 2017 Stats

• In 2017 the average length of stay for families served

was 9 nights. • The average length of stay in 2016 was 10 nights.

• RMHCCI served 285 families as overnight guests

between January 1 and December 31, 2017.

• Average monthly occupancy was 60%

• 693 family members accommodated overnight

• 20 families were served as Day/Meal Only Guests

to schedule two rounds per month
