It is indeed my great Privilage to invite You to FIAGES at Cuttack - Bhubaneshwar.Friends, Due to Covid Pandemic, IAGES couldn’t do any Onsite Fellowship Courses last year but did many Online Programs. This year in February, we had very successful FIAGES & EFIAGES held together at Rajahmundri, AP. Next Onsite FIAGES is planned in May 2021 at Cuttack, Orissa.

FIAGES is the Flagship Fellowship Course of IAGES for training in essential Laparoscopic Surgery. It is very much acclaimed and famous among the young surgeons. It gives excellent knowledge about the basics of Laparoscopic Surgery, Common Laparoscopic Surgeries and introduction to Advanced Laparoscopic Procedures. In addition it also imparts Laparoscopic Skills and Training on Endo-Lap Trainors.

Twin Cities of Bhubneshwar & Cuttack, Orissa are very famous for their hospitality and cultural heritage. Organising Team of Dr C R Das and Dr Sreejoy Patnaik are seasoned Academic Organisers and have organised many Fellowship Courses, National Congress of IAGES and ASI. I am sure they will do their best to make this FIAGES a very memorable event for one and all.

We have seen some increase in Covid Cases in certain states recently due to various reasons. Hopefully Orissa would continue to have less cases and better outlook to carry out this important event.

It gives us immense pleasure in inviting you to attend a FIAGES skill course 2021 in Shanti Memorial Super Speciality Hospital at Cuttack. It will be conducted over a three days from 21st to 23rd May 2021.

This course is an ideal platform for surgeons who wish to improve their Laparoscopic skills and become proficient in utilizing these modalities for treating patients during theirs day to day practice. This is a structured course, designed to cater the needs of surgeons from basic to advanced procedures. Every topic will be discussed in a fixed format addressing the key areas like Anatomy, techniques, common problems encountered, how to overcome difficult situations, complications as per the current evidence and recommendations.

This fellowship course (FIAGES) awarded by the most prestigious and the largest organization i.e “Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons” (IAGES). IAGES will conduct a 3days fellowship course in Laparoscopy from 21st – 23rd May 2021 at Shanti Memorial Hospital, Cuttack, Odisha. The course will be a balanced mix of didactic lectures by eminent faculty with an ample of time for discussions, video presentations, open house sessions, symposia and direct informal interactions in groups with meet the Professor Session Faculty. Participants will get a plenteous time on Endo-Trainers under close guidance and supervision of faculty to improve their Eye and Hand Coordination by Structured Exercises.

On the 23rd May, a live operative workshop will be held at Shanti Memorial Hospital, Cuttack, Odisha. Commonly practiced basic and advanced laparoscopic procedures will be shown by expert faculty who are masters in their field with emphasis on the correct techniques. The workshop shall be an open house interactive sessions with delegates as the central point. Lap appendix, Lap Chole, TEP, TAPP & Lap fundoplication are few common procedures to be shown.
