Synergy, the HRnewsletter provides insights about the latesttrends in HR Industry. As a novel approach, theinstitute of management has introduced themarketing podcast which broadcasts marketingnews weekly. Finance clubs reports daily newsbulletin and HR clubs presents weeklyinfographics.

Orientation ProgramOrientation day is the day of welcoming newstudents on their first day on campus. TheInstitute of Management conducted a 3 daysorientation program starting from July 1st, 2019for MBA Batch 2019-21. The objective was tofamiliarize the students with the universityenvironment, its physical facilities and tocreate an atmosphere that promotes positiveattitudes, and stimulates an excitement forlearning. The students were introduced to thedepartment, academic session, the courseStructure and the faculty members. Expertsfrom various industries, Dr. Rama Krishna,Senior Director, United Health Group, Mr.Manoj Singh, Additional Director, BSNL andAbhishek Pathak, Vice President of Paytm werecalled to address the new students about thelatest trends and development in the market,challenges for the upcoming managers, thevarious job opportunities and skills required toget into such jobs.

Outbound Training Physical education is an integral part ofeducation and CHRIST strongly believes inpromoting active participation of students insports and physical activities. It gives students’a chance to enhance their physical and thesocial skill. On 25th September 2019, the batchof MBA 2018-2020 went for a one day, OutBound Training at Rurban Village. The trip alltogether brought a different experience forstudents. The students participated in variousactivities such as Archery, Air Gun, Dart, Gulel,Ring Throw, Net Walk, Zig-Zag Walk, TripleBridge, Ladder Swing, X Bridge Walk, TyreTravel, Side Net Walk pottery making, zip line

WorkshopsThe institute organizes frequent workshopsand industrial visits to for the students. A userawareness program by Taylor & Francis wasorganised on 6th August 2019 where Mr.Prakash Sachan, Sr. Sales Executive- North,Taylor & Francis facilitated the students on“How to use the Database of Taylor andFrancis?”    A workshop on introduction tosimulation was organised on 21st September2019 by Dr Vinod Dumblekar, Founder & CEO,MANTIS. Business Analytics Workshop wasconducted on 22nd August, 2019. The resourceperson were Mr Prakash Sumani: AssistantDirector at Moody Analytics, Mr Harjeet Singh:Global MD and CEO at Stelios AssetManagement Pvt Ltd and Dr Amarjeet Singh:MD and Founder of Eduedge Pro. On 28thSeptember, 2019 Dr. Ajay Kumar ChauhanAssistant Professor, IMT, Ghaziabad trained theMBA students on Logistic Regression through

Blood Donation CampAs a part of Christ commitment to servehumanity, a blood donation camp wasorganized byChrist (Deemed to be University)Delhi NCR Campus in association with St.Joseph’s Hospital, Mariam Nagar and GhaziabadBlood Bank on 6 March 2020 from 10:00 am to4:00 pm. A team of 12 doctors and nurses underthe supervision of Dr. Kesarvani, HeadGhaziabad blood bank conducted the processof blood collection.  The response wasoverwhelming with participation from faculty,staff and students alike. A total of 118 units ofblood was collected in the camp.

Marketing WitsIt is an annual event designed and organized bythe marketing club called BEMARKING.Students are divided into 4 different groupsnamely Mavericks, Ipsum Blaze, Titans, andGladiators. These groups have to complete thetasks that have been given by the Co-ordinatorsof the Event based upon the instructionsprovided. The Event covered activities as:Creation of Brand name, Logo Designing,Tagline, Online and Offline Promotion of theBrand, Product Development, Treasure Hunt,Venturist and Business Quiz. Team MAVERICKSwas the winner of Marketing Wits, 2019.

Orange, an open-source  data mining, datavisualization and machine learning toolkit.

Institute offers an environment where studentscan enhance their academic learning byregularly organising domain specific guestlectures by industry experts and eminentfaculties who are renowned experts in theirfield. Students get to see the insight andperspective of the guest speaker’s particularfield. Mrs. Diana, A Chaplin in French CatholicHigh School, Dr. N.M Mishra, Director ofDistance Learning Centre at IMT Ghaziabad,Shri Harsh Sachdev, Executive Vice President,Indian Oil were among notable speakers. Theyaddressed students on various aspects such asthe scope and job prospects of BusinessAnalytics, Conflict Resolution and Negotiationskills, Team Building etc.Similarly, association and interaction withalumni serve a larger purpose foruniversity/institute and provides alumni tocontribute their alma mater in the best possibleway. Alumni, who are all successful in theirrespective careers represent the Institution inthe real world and significantly influence andinspire the students. On July 17, 2019, organisedalumni interaction with one of the Alumnus Mr.Vishnu Nair, Business Development Manager,Carlsberg, America.

Industrial visit are integral part of the MBAprogram. Such visits helps students tounderstand the practical challenges an industryor organization faces every day. With theobjective to lessen the gap between classroomlearnings and practical working environment,an industrial visit to Yakult’s factory at RaiIndustrial Area, Haryana was organised onDecember 12, 2019 for MBA 2019-21 batch. Such

visits gave them real scene experiences wherestudents could relate to the managementfundamentals in real sense.

Co/Extra Curricular Activities PrakalpIt is an Annual National Level SummerInternship Project (SIP) Contest. The eventaimed to endow a platform to the buddingMBA/PGDM professionals to share learningsand experience during their summer internshipand giving a nationwide exposure to their highquality summer project reports. The second SIPContest was organized on 20 September, 2019.31 participants from 22 institutes anduniversities across the country participated inthe contest. The competition was held in threedomains – Marketing, Finance and HumanResource. A total of 16 reports were presentedin all three domains and five best reports wereselected for the final round. The competitionwas won by Ms. Areeba Eram from RukiminiDevi Institute of Advanced Studies, New Delhi.

The academic experience with goodinfrastructure and excellent faculty at Christ(deemed to be) university has endured me withlifelong career excellence. Diwali MeetThe ‘Festival of Lights’ Diwali is one of the mostfestive and beautiful times of the year. It is atime when people all over the world rejoice. OnOctober 23, 2019, Institute of managementcelebrated this auspicious day with traditionalIndian attire, sweets, music and lights andgames. The students decorated the campuswith dazzling Rangolis, the picturesquedecoration made of Diya’s. Different gameswere organised for faculty and students. Flyinglantern ceremony was held which indulges theentire campus in the true festive atmosphere.

ChronosUniformity and oneness are the main culturaldrivers of our students. It brightens up when anopportunity like successfully organizing anevent comes up.Christ (Deemed to beUniversity), Delhi NCR conducted its flagshipmanagement fest CHRONOS 2019 – ‘AdAeternum’ on 4th and 5th November 2019. Total596 participants from various institutes anduniversities in Delhi NCR regions participatedin the event. As the theme itself suggests ‘toeternity’ the event was designed to entertaindifferent formal, informal and sports activitiessuch as B-Plan, Bid to win, B-Quiz, BestManager, Nukkad Natak, Face painting,cartooning, group dance, Group singing, Mememaking, Cricket , football , kabaddi andbasketball. The university witnessed someoutstanding performances and happilypresented them with awards and trophies,exciting cash prizes and merit certificates.

The goal of the department is to develop anentrepreneurial mindset among the studentsthrough engagement in various academic andco-curricular activities.The Department ofManagement Studies founded in the Delhi NCRcampus in 2019 has flourished seamlessly in thepast one year with a resolute aim of nurturingmanagement potential among young students.The establishment of the managementassociation and the formation of clubs under ithave been instrumental in giving a platform forthe future young managers to take initiativeand canvas their abilities in academic, co-curricular and extra-curricularactivities.Chronicles of the activities in whichthe students of the Department of ManagementStudies have actively coordinated andparticipated with vigor and energy.

Sell it if you canOrganized by the Co-curricular club of theManagement Association, the event “Sell It IfYou Can” took place on 28th august 2019,empowering the students with an opportunestage to evince their marketing and advertisingskills. The unconventional selling competitionchallenged the students to sell tattered andworn out products. The students counteredusing their marketing prowess, humor, wit,creativity and ingenious ideas to sell theproduct, finding the most insightful ways towin.

Department Activities

Retro to Metro‘Retro to Metro’ was an event organized by theCultural Club under the aegis of theManagement Association on 27th September,2019. The students came together to host anevent that turned out to be quite a crowd-pulling and congenial experience for thestudents and faculty, depicting a run-throughof the Bollywood era from 1960s to the presenttimes.

Mission

Guest lecture on ‘Social Media Marketing Several lectures were organized by theEntrepreneurship club, ‘Aarambh’ under theaegis of the Management Association, one ofwhich was a workshop and guest lecture on‘Social Media Marketing for startups onOctober 04, 2019.

Industrial visits to Mother Dairy and OrientPress The students of BBA General were taken on aneducational and informative industrial visit to theMother Dairy Plant in Patparganj in the last weekof January 2020. The visit helped the studentsgain an understanding of the efficiency of thewhole process of transportation, the sheeramount of milk sourced and sold, the history ofthe milk revolution and its progress since itbegan in the late 1960s. This was facilitatedthrough the interactions and briefings given bythe managing head of the Mother Dairy plant, Dr.Pillai.The students of BBA (Hons.), visited OrientPress Ltd. (a BSE listed company), Greater Noidaon 12th and 13th March 2020. It was an incredibleand informative industrial visit for the students,where they learnt about flexi packaging usingmulti-colored high speed web-offset printingmachines and ancillary machines like automaticslitting, photo- typesetting with micro processcontrolled camera.

Alumni ConnectDMS has organized Alumni connectprogrammes on numerous occasions. But thesession on 1st October 2019 by Captain SejalPalit, an alumnus of CHRIST Kengeri campusdeserves a special mention. He addressed theclass of BBA 2019 batch wherein throughexperiential sharing he inspired them to jointhe armed forces.

World Nature Conservation DayOrganized by DMS, this inter class competitionhad required the participants to make modelsusing waste products and reusable resourceswhich signified and underlined the significanceof nature conservation.

CHRONOS 2019CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Delhi NCRpresented its Flagship Management Fest-CHRONOS 2k19, on 4-5 November, 2019, whichwas organized jointly by the department ofmanagement studies and the institute ofmanagement. The name CHRONOS, resonatedour belief that time is and all that standsbetween who we are and who we aim to be. Thetheme was "Ad Aeternum" which means 'foreternity'. The two-day management fest sailedon tides of budding talent flowing fromnumerous colleges across Delhi to lock horns inthe right spirit, in an environment stimulated todraw out the very best from each and everyparticipant.

Aarohan (A Business Plan Competition)An intra-university business plan competition –Aarohan, was organized by Aarambh, theentrepreneurship club of ManagementAssociation. The event was to help hone theentrepreneurial skills of our students byoffering them a platform to develop solidbusiness plan from conceptualization tocommercialization stage.

Foos It OffOrganized by the Sports Club of ManagementAssociation, a total of 24 teams from variousdepartments in the University participated inthis Foosball tournament that was held from8th January 2020 to 15th January 2020. Thisevent was one of its kind as it was for the veryfirst time that an event was streamed live on ahuge screen for the entire audience in the fullypacked seminar hall.

Annual Athletic MeetIn the Annual Athletic Meet 2020 held on 23rdand 24th January 2020, DMS won thechampionship. Samiksha Saini (BBA- B) andVibhav Sharma of Department of ManagementStudies were declared the Best Athlete Girls andBoys respectively. The event worked as a catalystto unify the students and staff in the department,highlighting the immense synergy that shineswithin the Christite Spirit. The event highlightedthe immense virtues of team spirit and theimportance of working together at all times.

Lupine Cluster in Blossoms Blossoms was an Intra-University Festconducted by CHRIST (Deemed to beUniversity) that begins as an intra-departmental Cultural Fest, culminating into anInter-Deanery Competition. The students fromThe Department of Management Studiesactively participated in The Lupine Cluster andwon several accolades for their cluster.

Active Participation in DarpanThe Department of Management Studies hadshown their exuberant cooperation and activeparticipation in Darpan, the talent hunt festivalof CHRIST (Deemed to be University).

Participation in events outside the campusThe students of the Department ofManagement Studies over the span of one yeartook part in various events such as the annualfest of Delhi AIIMS “pulse”, “ODYSSEY 2K19”hosted by IIIT, Delhi and “TARANG 19” atNISCORT College. Our students alsoparticipated in the Indian Management andCommerce fest organized by the ChristUniversity, Lavasa, Pune. The students wonmany competitions thus giving them a chanceto pitch and compare their own KSAs againstsome of the best across various universities.

Student Review It was an amazing experience in my pastacademic year. There was a proper balancebetween studies, sports and otherextracurricular activities. All the faculty aresupportive and encourage the students intaking part in the activities which are organizedat the campus. Mission

Department AssociationThe event register of the department startedwith the inauguration of the CommerceAssociation – RECKONS AISLE, establishingthree clubs, Arthika – Finance Club, Nova –Entrepreneurship club and McCarthians –Marketing Club, followed by culturalperformances of the students. The CommerceAssociation conducts weekly activities to kindlethe interests in different disciplines ofCommerce including Entrepreneurship,Marketing, Finance and case study-basedcompetitions, keeping in mind the skillenhancement both at an individual level and ata team level. The association activities werereviewed by the alumni, who are experienced inorganizing the association activities. Thestudents participated in various cultural andcommerce fests in both regional and nationallevel, most successful being securing a topposition in the marketing event as a part ofINSIGNIA’20 organized by the St,Xaviers,Kolkata. -12

The Department of Commerce, offers twoprogrammes under its umbrella, BCom(Honours) and BCom (Professional), where wedevelop our business graduates intoresponsible global and national citizens and asleaders in economic, environmental, social andcultural sustainability and well-being.

Department Activities

During the lockdown period, a webinar wasorganized in collaboration with theIndianInstitute of Digital Education (IIDE) onDigital Marketing 101, with a specific focus onsocial media marketing and search engineoptimization.  Another initiative was a webinar,on the theme of E-Commerce a.k.a Re-Commerce, organized in association with theDepartment of Management Studies andInstitute of Management Studies along withCIMA as a knowledge partner for the event.

Workshops / Guest Lectures / Webinars &Industrial VisitsContinuous efforts are made in bridging thegap that exists between the academia andindustry. Various guest lectures, symposiumsand industrial visits are organized by thedepartment at regular intervals. The Presidentof Delhi Football Association and FIFAConsultant, Dr Shaji Prabhakaran, was invitedfor a session on ‘The Evolving Football BusinessEcosystem in India’ during which he gaveinsights into the current progress as well as theopportunities and challenges in the business ofIndian football.  Another session was onAccounting System : Transition from IGAAP -Ind AS - IFRS was organized, which isconsidered to be the need of the hour, whereCA Kamal Garg, chartered accountant andfamous author, interacted with the students onthe implications on accounting transactions,while updating to the new accounting system ofIFRS.

The department takes pride in partnering withglobally eminent professional bodies such asCISI (UK), IMA (USA), CIMA (UK), MilesEducation (India), GlobalFTI (India) in offeringcollaborated value additions in the form ofintegrated course, organizing events, facultydevelopment programmes and seminars.Among students undertaking CIMA professionalcourse, five have cleared Level-1, earning thetitle of ‘Certified Business Accountant’ duringthe academic year 2019-2020. A value-addedcourse was offered by Chartered Institute ofSecurities and Investment (CISI) on theFundamentals of Financial Services open to allthe students with economics, commerce andmanagement background and 94% was thesuccess rate of our students.

Our students also had a chance interact withfour alumni members during the academicyear, who extended their invaluableexperiences of their alma-mater.   Towards theend of the year, the students visited the factoryof Yakult Danone India Ltd. in Sonepat,Haryana. The plant is an ISO 9001:2008, OHSAS18001:2007 and HACCP certified manufacturingunit. The experience operational mechanismadopted by the company at an internationalquality benchmark. The visit commenced withthe company personnel briefing about thecompany’s background and its currentpositioning in the global market. It was followedby a factory tour accompanied by the guideexplaining the different stages involved, frommanufacturing to packaging.

Student CareAcademic Mentoring for the studentscommenced in their first month itself. Studentsare allotted with faculty mentors and they meetthe mentors once in a week, reviewing theacademic progression and professionaldevelopment, until graduation. In theDepartment of Commerce, CHRIST NCR, weconduct academic mentoring both at anindividual level as well as at a group level. It is aunique process in academic enhancementwhich helps the students shape theireducational experiences, from adjusting tocollege life to choosing a specialization,defining and fulfilling educational goals, andtransitioning toward graduate education orprofessional practice.

Our students and teachers wanted to bring asmile on the face of the children staying inJeevan Dhara and visited them during themonth of December.Recognizing thecontributions of our father of nation, MahatmaGandhi, an event commemorating his 150thbirth anniversary was organized by thedepartment in collaboration with the SWOteam. Shayaris and stories, authored by thestudents were narrated along with facepainting, sketching and poster makingcompetitions. A collage making competitionwas organized by Reckons Aisle, honouring the11th President of India Dr A P J Abdul Kalamwith participants across the variousdepartments from the campus.

World Mental Health Day CelebrationsOn 11 October 2019, the Department ofPsychology celebrated World Mental HealthDay in a campus-wide activity to createawareness and open dialogue around mental

health, and break the taboos that surround it.The students from the Department ofPsychology creatively incorporated the colouryellow into their outfits, representing solidarityand support for young people suffering frommental health and telling them that they’re notalone. Psychology  student volunteers wentinto each class, interacted with the students, allover the campus and  encouraged them todraw or write down positive emotions andfeelings  as they directed the conversationtowards relevant topics on mental health.

To spread the Christmas cheer, PsyAsso tookan initiative to celebrate Christmas with thevery talented children of Anand Training centerwhich caters to differently-abled children. The Department of Psychology organized Bio-feedback study groups intending to gain agradual and sound understanding about themechanical, technical and application-baseddetails of the portable Bio-feedback machinei.e. NeXus 10 and its diverse uses, with the hopeto tap into future possibilities of using themachine for research and other clinicalpurposes. Students and faculties of thedepartment actively participated in the eventsheld not only in institute level but also onNational level. Students were praised for theirphenomenal success in literary, art and stageevents conducted by Christ in Delhi NCRCampus and also in Bangalore Campus for theirparticipation in Rob a Bank, Cinemoid andQuerencia. Thecollege premises were decorated with flowersand rangolis.Started with a colourful processionwhere all the departments in the Universityparticipated with rigour, the customary drumbeatings by our director Father Dr. Viju PD andDr. Merlyn Sharma, Coordinator and the Headof the Department of Languages marked thebeginning of the cultural performances byChristites and professionals. There were manyfolk performances to showcase the culturaldiversity starting from Tiruvathira, Garba, Lavniand Bhangra. Dhol and Chenda performancesby the professionals stole the show. Prizes werealso given to the male and female faculties forthe best ethnic wear and also to the bestperformances.The programme ended with abattle between Dhol and Chenda Melam andthe DJ by DJ Rajan.

From thedecorations in the venue to the variousspeeches and poems performed by thestudents, the ambience reflected our spirit ofallegiance to the nation and turned out to be amemorable day.

Theatre Art Workshop

The department of Languages organized aTheatre Workshop on 29 January 2020 for thestudents of the university where our studentswere introduced into the art of Theatre by Mr.Mazibur Rehman, a professional actorassociated with the National School of Drama,Kingdom of Dreams and Shri Ram Centre forPerforming Arts. The students had anenthralling experience while they learned thebasics of theatre production from a seasonedactor.

Guest Lectures

On 17 September 2019, the Department ofLanguages organized a Guest Lecture on theoccasion of Hindi Diwas celebrated on 14thSeptember. The keynote speaker of the Lecturewas the renowned poet and scholar, Dr HarishArora from Delhi University. Dr Aroraenlightened the student community about theimportance of the language diversity in ournation and the ethos and significance of HindiLanguage and Literature.

On 30th  January 2020, the Department ofLanguages in collaboration with the students ofSchool of paid a touching tribute to the martyrsof the Jallianwala. Bagh Tragedy on the100th Anniversary of the incident. The studentsenacted the events from the day of theJallianwala Bagh Massacre in an emotional andperceptive performance which took the viewersa century back and left teary eyed.

CENTRE FOR RESEARCH

The Centre for Research was established tonurture the research talent in our students.Through various academic exchangeprogrammes, the Centre aims at establishingthe universal nature of research culture. TheCentre has PhD programmes in six disciplines.There are 13 empanelled guides supervising thescholars. The 2019 Doctoral CommitteeMeeting witnessed the approval of full-timefellowship PhD programme and admitted 23scholars in the year 2019-20.

PhD Admissions 2019-20

The admission procedure commenced in themonth of June 2019 and enrolled seven scholarsfor the academic year 2019-20. Number ofstudents enrolled in different disciplines are asfollows; English- 2 full time, Psychology – 2 fulltime, 2 part time, Law- 1 part time.

The second admission procedure commencedin the month of December 2019 and enrolled 16scholars for the academic year 2019-20.Number of student enrolled in differentdisciplines are as follows; English- 1 full time,Psychology – 2 full time, 1 part time, Law- 2 fulltime, 5 part time, Commerce- 3 part time,Management- 2 part time.

The coursework classes for the Ph. D scholarson June batch started in the month of July 2019and in January 2020 for the December batch.The coursework has four modules completedwithin the duration of six months and isfacilitated by faculty members across thedisciplines. This course work helps the scholarsto write the final synopsis which is to besubmitted and presented at the end of thecoursework.

CENTRE FOR COUNSELLINGAND HEALTH SERVICES (CCHS)

The Centre for Counselling and Health Servicesis an integral part of the university. It is astudent support service which aims to helpstudents adapt and make the best use of thelearning environment. The centre aims toprovide a nurturing environment wherein eachstudent of the university is empowered to facetheir life challenges and achieve their goals, beit academic or personal. It helps students makeproper adjustments in their lives for animproved quality of life, by motivating them toattend classes regularly, help them prepare forexams and cater to their psychological needs.

In the previous academic year (2019-2020),CCHS conducted the Orientation counsellingfor the new batch of students across allprogrammes. The students were inducted tothe various services that CCHS offers to helpstudents throughout their academic journey inCHRIST.

Psychoeducation sessions were conducted forfirst year undergraduate students across allprogrammes on topics like Managing Emotions,Understanding and Managing Relationships,and Prevention of Substance Abuse andBehavioural Addiction.  The sessions wereconducted in an interactive manner, usingvideos, PPTs, quizzes, games and discussionamongst classmates and the counsellor, toencourage students to speak up about theirviews of the topic and get to know from others

CCHS, in collaboration with Department ofPsychology, conducted a session on Leisureand Lifestyle for the undergraduate andpostgraduate students of Psychology in themonth of October, 2019. It was a fun andinteractive session for both the students andthe teachers.In the month of February 2020, the first ParentMeeting was organized for parents and thesenior management to interact with each otherand build network. This meeting also helpedthe parents in getting to know about theprogress of the university and also to discussconcerns, if any, for the growth of theuniversity. Prospective plans for future werealso discussed with each other.In the month of March 2020, an awarenesssession about the COVID-19 was conducted byour staff nurse to help the people working inour university understand the virus and theways to protect ourselves.

Child Sponsorship Program “Child Sponsorship Program” is an initiative ofCHRIST (Deemed to be University) with thespecial efforts and contribution by the studentsand staff who render monetary and student-mentoring services for the children from slumcommunities for their education and life skillsdevelopment. Through this support, thesponsored children are provided with requirededucational materials like notebooks, bags,shoes and school fees.  Moreover, Children areenrolled in the activity center to improve theiracademic/non-academic performance throughinformal academic sessions, extracurricularactivities, personality development camps,picnic based study exposure, and sports events.

Activity CenterThe main aim is to help the children from theproject areas to have a better after-schoolexperience and to provide a platform forlearning which helps them grow. Events,activities and carnivals are organized by thevolunteers to bring out the best in the childrenand provide them a platform to display theirtalents. The main purpose of it is to engage thechildren in our project areas and mold them tobe the leaders of tomorrow. The activity centeris not just a place to teach, but also to learn. Itis a place where you are a sister or a brother, amentor and a friend.

Enamour Moppet It was a fulfilling Christmas celebrationorganized for the students from the adoptedProject Area. The programme was conductedon 19.12.2019 by the student volunteers of CSA,Christ University and staff members of theSlum Community Development Project. Around250 students attended the program. Gameswere conducted included bowling, fish race,face painting, balloon popping, ball in the cups,musical choirs, coin in the bucket, origami, dogin the bone, followed by a zumba dance sessionand the arrival of Santa Claus.

Kai-Po-CheTo mark the celebration of 73rd IndependenceDay, CSA organized a Kite Flying Competitionon 14th August, 2019. The program saw some 50student volunteers and 400 spectators. While afew kites were handmade, some students alsotook an extra step to write positive messageson their kites. The spirit of freedom andnationalism was well exhibited by everyone.

The idea of having a committee for such anoble cause already excites me. The thing that Ifound unique about CSA is how it follows theprinciple of ‘Better done than said’ as it actuallyworks for the development of the poor and themarginalized societies. CSA has given us anopportunity to have a closer look in the lives ofthe oppressed and to understand theirstruggles better. Also, to raise our voice for theone’s who’re in need. Nudge FoundationA group of students are engaged actively withthe Nudge Foundation - GURUKUL programwhich consists of underprivileged young adultsfrom all parts of the country seeking jobs. Herethe student volunteers engage in their trainingprocess which includes communication skills,interviewing skills, work ethics, self-grooming,banking basics etc. On 25th January NUDGEstudents' batch 2019-2020 graduatedsuccessfully with 100% placement in variouscompanies as customer care serviceemployees. The whole project serves as a greatlearning ground for our students and equipsthem with numerous skills while working witha purpose driven team.

ENLIGHT During the testing times of the pandemic ofCOVID-19, the CSA came up with their newprogram called Enlighten to make everyoneaware of the social issues of today, along withsome ready hacks for waste management andself-care for everyone to practice at their ownhouses.

ParivartanaIt is an effort towards a more sustainable world.It is an initiative for waste segregation, whichwould later help in the recycling of the wasteand to lessen the quantity of food waste beinggenerated. The program also createdawareness among the community about foodwastage.  Volunteers engaged in clean-updrives, putting up posters, setting up dustbinsand various other campaigns. Eco friendlydustbins were placed in sets of three forsegregation in all the cafeterias, contributing tothe Waste Management Project.

LOCKDOWN CREATIVESIndoor Fest was organized in the month of Mayin collaboration with the SWO. Competitionssuch as GALLANT (Fancy Dress), Shutters Up(Photography), KNOCK KNOCK TIK TOK(Famous Tik-Tok videos), WUNDERBAR (Vlogmaking) and Rachana (Poem writing) wasorganized by the CSA. This fest that extendedto two weeks helped the students to cope withthe pandemic situation and switch on to theircampus life, making them feel more alive andunited.

Fighting COVID-19In a bid to ease the pain of life under lockdown,the staff and administration of the Delhi NCRCampus have joined hands to provide food andration to the poor. Food is being prepared anddistributed twice a day for approximately ahundred people since day one of the lockdown.Apart from this, 20kg ration per family has beendistributed to 100 families in the Reth Mandislum area.

Magnificat It is a celebration of music that is conductedand hosted by the SWO through the ChristUniversity Choir in a fairy tale like set up. It isconducted in the form of a competitionbetween different schools, followed by aremarkable musical performance rendered bythe Christ University Choir as a display ofgratitude.

SUNERGOSA national level fest organized by the SWOincluding dynamic participants from thedifferent states in north India. The super festcomprises of the six branches of the SWOdirecting their different fests to unite anamalgamation of aptitude in information andextracurricular across different disciplines.

BlossomsAn interdepartmental fest conducted in theeven semester to encourage all the studentsacross various departments to participate in aplethora of activities organized by the SWO.

Model United Nations An educational simulation organized by theSWO and the students of the variousdepartments of Christ University, Delhi NCRwhere the participants learn about diplomacy,international relations, and the United Nations.The Christ University MUN is a training groundfor the speaking, debating, and writing skills, inaddition to critical thinking, teamwork, andleadership abilities of our students.

QUIZ WEEK QWIZZARDS was a 4 day event casing Generalknowledge, Sports and IT  organized in themonth of March 2020. The studentsenthusiastically participated in the quizzes andcreated a strong relationship with the differentdepartments. 

KITEE KITEE (Knowledge Ignited through EEducation) was a student-led E-learningplatform initiated by SWO during the lockdownperiod where the students engaged with videocontent on topics as diverse as motivation,social responsibility, MUN and general briefintroductions to various countries.

CHRIST INTER E MUNIt was organized on 30-31 May 2020 for all thefive CHRIST Campuses. The main agendabehind this inter MUN was for declaring MUNin our campus and to promote the leadershipqualities of students through constructivedebate and imbibe the quality of acceptance ofdifferent viewpoints, laydown the viewpointsabout the issue and to have a constructiveperspective about world issues. CHRIST INTERE MUN enabled the delegates to find solutionsto problems through constructive debate andan exchange of ideas. 

Inter – University Competitions The cultural team competed and won variousevents in Inter- University Competitions whichcovered IIIT, AIIMS, NISCORT, SRCC- DelhiUniversity and CHRIST (Deemed To BeUniversity) Lavasa Campus. Magnificat, 2019had the participation of 15 teams all acrossDelhi and UP.  

Online Training Program NIRMITI, an online training program wasconducted for the Choir (MELODIA),Natyarpana (Dance- MUDRA) and MediaStudents (SHUTTERS UP). NIRMITI wasdesigned to acquire knowledge in different artforms/ Media and film language and enable anexperience of effective practice sessions/Filmmaking and poster making.

Lockdown Creatives An Indoor Fest was organized in the month ofMay in collaboration with CSA. Competitionssuch as QUIZWEIES (Quiz on series), BREAKTHE SILENCE (Singing- Hindi & English), LOCKDOWN LIMBO (Dance), FLIP BOOK (Artcompetition) and RACHANA (Poem Recitation)was organized by SWO.

The department of Physical Education has beena nourishing body for all the young talentedathletes to grow and succeed. Selection try-outs were conducted by the Department andthe interested students were given a platformto hone their skills. The provision of a ground,courts, coaches, equipment, and the provisionof other requirements of the students by theDepartment created a nurturing environmentfor the athletes.

Being the first year of the CHRIST NCRCampus, the department started by conductingthe Pedagogic league in the month of Augustwith events such as Basketball and football forboth men and women. ChriSpo an U-19 sportsevent was conducted in the month of Octoberfor the students of different schools in DelhiNCR. This was a two-day event withparticipants from 10 schools.  CHRONOS amanagement fest had its second day for thesports events such as basketball league,football league, cricket league and kabaddi. Wehad participants from around 10 colleges forthis fest.

SPORTS/PHYSICAL EDUCATION

The major event for the department was theAnnual Athletic Meet conducted in the monthof February for the students, faculty and thestaff of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) DelhiNCR Campus. Track events such as 50M race,100M race, 200M race and 4*100M relay wasconducted for both men and women. Otherevents involved Shot put, discus throw, longjump, high jump and Tug of war. This was atwo-day event where the students of CHRISTNCR campus participated enthusiastically in allthe events. The Department of ManagementStudies was declared as the champions of theathletic meet. Sameeksha Saini was the bestfemale athlete and Vibhav Sharma was the bestmale athlete for the Annual Athletic Meet 2020.

The alumni chapters of the variousdepartments are actively involved in supportingvarious activities such as placement,internships, events, panel discussions andalumni talks on various topics. They also play anactive role in the student project evaluationsduring festive workshops.

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

To cherish the memories made in CHRIST(Deemed to be University), we at Delhi NCRcampus organized our first Annual Alumni Meeton 26  January 2020. The CHRIST ALUMNIASSOCIATION represents the voice of all thegraduated Christites from our university. Theassociation is committed to boosting theuniversity's growth by demonstrating a widearray of resources and opportunities. TheAlumni Association was also inaugurated by Dr.Vinnarasi B. In the event comprising of 64Alumni members, all the office bearers of theassociation were appointed and had aconstructive discussion on the functioning ofthe association.

The Student Council arranged the transportservice for the students who had to stay backfor their Dance and Music practices, resultingin more participation in the University teams.Student Council also organized the AlumniMeet on 26 January 2020 and managed to keepa very healthy competition and undisruptiveflow of the intra-Departmental level ofBlossom’19.

STUDENT COUNCIL

The first Student Council for the academic year2019-2020 at Christ (Deemed to be University)Delhi NCR was formed with 35 studentrepresentatives, representing different coursesin the campus and other student bodies. Fivementors are guiding the Student Council in allpossible ways.

The activities of the Student Councilcommenced with an Orientation Programmewith the Director of the campus for theselected members. The Orientation aided themembers to understand their duties andresponsibilities better and ended with a Pledgetaken by every member of the council to servethe university student body to the best of theirabilities.The Council Members ensured that thesuggestions and concerns of the studentcommunity will promptly be brought intoattention.

Library and information Centre, CHRIST(Deemed to be University), Delhi NCR campusis situated on the third floor in Block A. Thelibrary has a good collection of textbooks,reference books, periodicals and journalarchives. The library can accommodate morethan 200 students and is also equipped withmore than 50 computer terminals to facilitatethe digital world. The library has facilities likeinternet and Wi-Fi services, a symposium hallfor group discussions, locker facility, computerlab and reprographic facility. We also providean extensive reading area for students wherethey can use their personal reading materials.The library subscribes to the electronicresources from reputed publishers like Taylorand Francis, EBSCO, ProQuest, J-gate, SCCOnline, Manupatra, Hein Online etc. for thebenefit of our students and faculty members.E-books from various publishers like OxfordUniversity Press, Bloomsbury, E-book centraland Emerald Insight Management Collectionwere subscribed for the year 2019-20.Thelibrary has an e-resource collection of morethan 19000 journals and 1,65,000 e-books. Thetotal expenditure of the year was 62 lakhs.

The library conducted its annual bookexhibition, ‘Bookmark 2019’, and it witnessedthe participation of students and facultymembers across all departments. The studentsand faculty members selected around 425books as part of the library collectiondevelopment programme. Library has alsoorganized a programme ‘Earn while you learn’for the students to work in the library aftertheir class hours. The library also conductedbook displays every month in association withdifferent publishers and distributors as part ofthe collection development programme. Thelibrary also organized author workshops as wellas orientation sessions for students. Book Talk,an event for book lovers, was conducted by thelibrary in association with the DepartmentSchool of Law.

LIBRARY AND INFORMATIONCENTRE

Around 4772 books were circulated during theacademic year 2019-20. The average number ofwalk-in users was 96 per day.

The Office of Examinations functionedrelentlessly for good assessment practices inthe academic year 2019-2020. Since it was thefirst time CHRIST (Deemed to be University)Delhi NCR campus was conducting thecentralized exam, the Office of Examinationsorganized an orientation for the facultymembers regarding the various steps involvedin successfully conducting the examinationsand offered a training session to elaborate thedetails of the duties of Invigilators, Squad andDeputy Chiefs. The general instructions andguidelines were explained to all the facultymembers regarding the examinations.

The Office of Examination conducted anorientation session on 23 September 2019 forthe faculty members to equip them in thepreparation of the Question Bank for the EndSemester Examination. The sessioncommenced with an introduction to theQuestion Bank and rubrics. Framing a questionand its structure, pattern, adding of question,uploading of images and tables were explainedin detail. The office demonstrated on how tocreate a question and link a question withrespect to the ratio of questions.

The Office of Examinations conducted the MidSemester/Trimester and EndSemester/Trimester    Examinations (regular)as per the academic calendar. The timelysubmission of Continuous Internal Assessment(CIA) 1 and 3 were ensured. The office alsoconducted two online examinations for HolisticEducation and Environmental Studies. Theresults of the End Semester/TrimesterExaminations were published as per theacademic calendar.

OFFICE OF EXAMINATION

The personnel office coordinates to maintain employee records such as the employee’spersonal file, attendance and leave records according to the University policies and keepupdating the staff profile in Knowledge Pro. The personnel office also assists the faculty and thestaff for their yearly appraisal process. The office also manages the disciplinary issues and othergrievances. The Personnel office further assists the Director and the new faculty members inthe smooth functioning of the interview process and completes the joining formalities of thenew faculty members. The office also takes the responsibility of verifying the researchdocuments submitted to the personnel office for various incentives.Besides this, we also extendour support to the other departments such as Facility Management, Accounts Department &the Admission office whenever required.

PERSONNEL OFFICE

The Office of Admissions represents CHRIST(Deemed to be University) Delhi NCR andfunctions as a coordinating office with highschools, colleges and other educationalinstitutions. The responsibility of the Office ofAdmissions is to disseminate information to theprospective students about the University andhelp them through the admission process. Theoffice represents the University at national andinternational platforms to promote andeducate the prospective students byparticipating in fairs and events.

It ensures to develop and perpetuate aprocedure wherein the applications arereceived and scrutinized respectively for eachUG / PG / PhD applicant and determine theadmission eligibility for these students beforeintimating them about the admission status.

THE OFFICE OF ADMISSIONS

The office effectively supports the selectedstudents by guiding them through the variousfinancial assistances available and enablingthem to utilize the options.

Throughout the year, the Office of Admissionsacts as a vital support system connecting thestudents and faculty members for thefulfilment of their various service requests.

The office of Information Processing andManagement (IPM) has a mission to support,monitor, and communicate all University-related data to the students and the staff.

The primary function of the office is to monitorthe attendance for the students and the staff.The office made an attendance applicationavailable for the faculty members.  The officeupdated the curriculum and the course detailsand made the syllabus and course plan madeavailable in the student login before the classescommenced. To help the students plan theirstudies along with the other activities, thetimetable for the odd semester classes wereprepared and made accessible in advance.

All the first-year students were promptlyassigned with a new registration number. Theoffice also managed the classroom allotmentsfor each section and issued all the User IDs andpasswords for the students such as the studentlogin email ID, library, My Course, and SmartCard. The Office of IPM also took care of thedistribution of the University Diary, Calendar,and Handbook.

The Office was punctual in sending the lettersindicating the shortage of attendance to theparents so as to help the parents monitor theirwards and assist them in contacting thecounsellors and class teachers if required. TheOffice also administered and monitored thepublishing of the hall tickets for the EndSemester Examination and aided in theclearance of the dues for all the students afterverification on the same day itself before boththe Odd and Even Semester examinations.

INFORMATION PROCESSING & MANAGEMENT (IPM)

The IT department is responsible to providethe infrastructure for automation andgovernance of the operational units for thesmooth functionality of the University. The ITDepartment is responsible for securing all thesystems & networking devices as well asoptimizing their operations to provide the bestand quickest environment for staff andstudents.

Computer Centre

Computer Labs: The students, faculty, and stafffrom all the departments may use the facilitiesof the computer lab equipped with networkedcomputers, professional software suites,scanners, printers, and related equipment.TheComputer lab specializes in the digitization of ahigh volume of raw data for comprehensive e-governance projects, Data capturing andtransmitting, need based solution, technologyintegration etc. All computer labs offer black
