Principal’s Message “Education is the unfolding of the wings of head and heart together.”

It is with great pleasure that I present the Annual Report 2019. Firstly I would like to thank you

for your support, time and energy in what has been an extremely successful year. Both in terms of

our continued improvement across all curriculum areas, the development of our school and in

cultural performances during TASVEER.

The school secured its secondary level affiliation from the CBSE in September 2019. It was a joyous

moment for everyone. The hard work put in by the complete staff is commendable.

At The Manthan School, we promote a vision to provide an education which inspires character and

leadership, and we strive to lead the students along a pathway of values-based experiences in their

learning. In the pursuit of imparting value education the VAL-ED Lab was inaugurated by Ms. Divya

Jain (MD) in the month of November.

In pursuance to provide academic excellence and intellectual enhancement of numeracy skills

among students from Pre-primary to Grade 4, we encompassed SHIN Program in the curriculum.

The school also partnered with FAIR TRADE, an organization which believes in changing the way

trade works through better prices, decent working conditions and a fairer deal for farmers and

workers in developing countries. A committee which involves parents and students as

representatives who share the same ideologies has been formulated.

Reading gives wings to imagination and to foster this habit in the young generation and to give

back to society MANTHAN BOOK CLUB was established. Parents along with their wards can come

to the library and spend some quality reading time. Books ranging from knowledge to fiction, they

have access to all.

Our students participated in various Inter-school Competitions and brought accolades to the

school. A talent hunt was organized to horn the creative aspect of the students and to identify such

talents and polish their skills. We were also recognised and bequeathed with various awards by

different agencies. The feather in the cap was finally paid off with the ISA British Council Ceremony

when we uplifted the trophy for completing all the projects, for the first time.

The year also witnessed the emergence of Atal Scouts and Rani Lakshmi Bai Guides. The students

appeared for their Pratham Satra exam in a two day camp at Balika Inter College.

7

Each year we are guided by our vision statement and we continue our strong commitment to

offering quality teaching and learning which draws on pedagogical practice that is data informed

and evidence based.

This Annual report shows how we are progressing and developing as a school. It outlines what we

achieved, how well we are going and what we need to focus on next to continually improve the

educational programs and services for students.

The teaching staff is congratulated for being reflective and responsive to the needs of students and

our supportive community has a genuine commitment to our school.

In the end I would just like to say that that the price of success is hard work, dedication to the job

at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves

to the task at hand.

It is indeed a pleasure to chair such an active and progressive school and I thank everyone for their

support of the school.

8

School Background

We strive to provide a safe, happy and protective environment, around the curriculum enabling

students to wonder and be curious, explore and equip with the skills to become a life-long learners.

We exhort the students to, GET information, SET ideas and solutions, KNOW the world and FLY

as an achiever.

Taking its name from the divine churning of the ocean, The Manthan School delves deep into the

sea of knowledge. The students are churned into a vast repository of pedagogy to empower them

with the highest levels of learning, turning them into better students and proactive members of

the society. We intend to make the learning process enjoyable where our students can turn

ordinary things into extraordinary.

As the world sits at the crossroads, we see ourselves as the creators of agents of change. The

students are provided with a stimulating environment to nurture their talents, hone their skills

and turn them into Global Citizens when the time comes for them to leave the nest. The School

is like a home and its teachers akin to mothers, who take pride in feeding them with knowledge.

They are tearfully joyous when these learners empowered with skills are set out to fly to conquer

the world.

Aesthetically designed Music, Dance and Drama rooms, weave spirituality and freedom of expression seamlessly into the curriculum.

The school encourages various forms of music - vocal and instrumental. Dedicated music teachers cultivate interest in children with a flair for music and hone their talents and skills. Music is a part of our daily existence - this is reflected through the Kitchen Band – children using various utensils to create melodious notes and music.

Dance is understood to stimulate skills that synthesize and communicate the results of one’s thinking in the visual form. The school encourages children to actively participate in various events which encompasses dance in myriad forms. Students actively engage themselves in learning various forms of contemporary and modern dance forms helping them to express themselves mentally, physically and emotionally.

Dramatic exploration provides students with an outlet for emotions, thoughts and dreams. A moment, to become another, explore and experiment. In today’s ever increasing information centered world, Drama, like no other art form, helps students communicate with and understand new worlds. The school hosts not only annual events wherein students are encouraged to come up with different themes, adaptations and original, cultivating their thoughts and channelizing their ideas into works of artistic expression.

School Culture Our philosophy of education is a student-centered learning approach which is supported by NCLB

policy where no student is left behind and from time to time remedial classes are conducted to

bring below average students at par with the class. The overall importance is placed on the

importance of their physical and emotional progress, which leads to their academic achievement.

The faculty is well equipped with the latest technology, which provides them with a broad

spectrum of delivery methods for the curriculum content. The focus is on creating a caring,

engaging and a learning environment that is also academically rigorous.

Till Grade 2 we follow mother teacher concept, which helps in a strong understanding of the

students. Parents are also offered a regular time of communication with their teachers through

messages, mails and ERP. Grade 3 onwards the system is more versatile as the concept of subject

teachers begins.

To support the care and safety of each child, the school has a well-developed management policy

with the objective of fostering a school environment that is safe and productive for all. The school

also works on the growth mindset of each and every individual with various workshops and

display boards.

School’s special educator works alongside the teaching team in student wellbeing, managing child

protection issues and dealing with challenging behavior. The staff is capable enough to identify

children who need support, who are further referred to the special educator for her reference.

School is well supported with the manual procedures and policies that are reviewed on yearly

basis, which ensures school progress forward each year in well thought out sustainable steps.

17

School Management System Every area of the school forms a learning culture. The school is lead and managed under a

Distributed Leadership Model. This helps in shared decision making and facilitated leadership. It

helps in creating a dynamic and complex working environment which keeps changing through its

focus on improvement.
