Minutes of the 29th Annual General Body meeting of Indian College of Physicians

A meeting of the 29th Annual General Body Meeting of ICP was held on 22nd

February 2018 at 4.00 P.M. at Bangalore.There was no quorum and hence the meeting was adjourned for 15 minutes. The meeting was called to order at 4.15 P.M. by Dr. B. R. Bansode the President of API and Chairperson of Indian College of Physicians. He welcomed all the Fellows of the Indian college of Physicians and invited the Dean Dr. Rohini Handa to conduct the proceedings of the meeting. Dean Dr. Rohini Handa thanked Dr. B. R. of Drs. N. K. Singh – Varanasi, Lt. Gen. N. R. Krishnan – Bangalore, JR Sankaran – Chennai, K. S. Chugh – Chandigarh, K. C. Mohanty – Mumbai, B. K. Goyal – Mumbai, B. B. Tripathy – Cuttack, Ashok Chaudhary - Kolkata and Deepak Amarapurkar – Mumbai. Two minutes silence was observed in memory of the departed soul. The General Body authorized Hon. General Secretary to send a suitable resolution to the family members of the departed soul.

3. Confirmation of the minutes of the twenty eight Annual General Body Meeting of ICP held on 26th January 2017 at Mumbai.

The copy of the 28th Annual General Body meeting of ICP held on 26th January 2017 at Mumbai which was circulated and gone through page by page from page No. 5 to 7 of the 28th Annual Report was passed; proposed by Dr. P. S. Shanker and Seconded by Dr. Banshi Saboo.

4. Business arising out of the minutes. Nil5. To consider the 29th Annual Report of the ICP. The 29th Annual Report of Indian College of Physicians with Dean’s Annual

Report of the activities of ICP which were already circulated and went through page by page No. 8 to 12 which were passed; proposed by Dr. Rajesh Upadhyay and Seconded by Dr. V. Palanippan – Dindigul.

Dean Dr. Rohini Handa informed the members The ICP Convocation was held at Hotel Renaissance, Mumbai on 27 January 2017. Dr Farokh Udwadia was the chief guest and delivered a thought provoking convocation address. Fellowship of ICP was conferred on 167 members of the API.

Undergraduates Teaching Slides in Rheumatology are being prepared. These shall be put on web shortly.

Honorary Fellowship of the ICP has been conferred this year on Prof Syed Atiqul Haq, Bangladesh and Mamun-Al-Mahtab, Bangladesh.

permission of the chair. Chairman, Dr. BR Bansode informed that this is his last meeting as chairman

7. Installation of Dean for 2018 - 2019. Dr. Rohini Handa the outgoing Dean invited Dr. G. Narasimulu on the dias

and installed him as the Dean of ICP (2018-2019) Dr. Rohini Handa thanked the Fellows for their support given to him during his tenure as Dean. He also introduced Dr. G. Narasimulu and informed that he had a great pleasure to hand over the Deanship and prestigious medalion to Dr. Narsimulu, who is an eminent Rheumatologist.

Dr. G. Narsimulu thanked all the Fellows and informed that it’s a matter of great honour and privilege to give charge as the Dean, Indian College of Physicians. I am following the footsteps of several stalwarts and we will do our very best to justify that you have chosen us.

I had participated as Dean in couple of state APICON’s
