Berdasarkan persamaan diatas maka terlihat bahwa nilai Brake HP sangat dipengaruhi oleh Total Head Loss (delta Hp) dan efisiensi pompa yang ada. Oleh karena itu, kita harus menghitung Total Head Loss yang berupa jumlah dari:

1. Friction Loss semua segmen pipa5. Total static head2. Friction Loss di fitting6. Velocity head3. Friction Loss di peralatan7. Tank pressure head4. Friction Loss di check valveSedangkan efisiensi pompa dapat dihitung dari persamaan Ns terlebih dahulu kemudian dilihat efisiensinya dari grafik

1. Menghitung Total Head

a. Friction Loss semua segmen pipa(Asumsi : pipa std wt steel sched 40 (page 50))HFP/L dilihat dari tabel Cameron (lampiran 1)Velocity dapat dihitung dengan persamaanLalu HFP dalat diperoleh dengan mengalikan HFP/L dengan panjang sebenarnya

2. Menghitung Efisiensi Pompa dan Brake Horse Power

Apabila sudah didapatkan efisiensi pompa, maka dilanjutkan dengan mencghitung Brake Horse Power dengan menggunakan rumus berikut
