However, statistics from Val Morgan Cinema Networks show that women have a greater gender profile for horror films than men do. Also, the most popular age range for horror movies is 18-24 year olds, followed closely by 25-34 year olds. This shows that older audiences from approximately 18 to 30 are most likely to seek suspense and thrill from cinema as oppose to younger audiences from 14-17 who would most likely seek something a little more light hearted. This also goes for audiences above approximately 35, who would also opt for a movie far less jumpy and thrilling than one from the horror genre.
