Who do the similar films target?• These apocalypse/distopian action films mainly target males 15-40, of all races

and education who enjoy watching action, violence and are looking for a film that is adrenalaine pumping and exciting. • As for Rubicam and Young’s way of categorising an audience, I would say that

post apocalyptic action films mostly target the mainstream and the aspirers as these are often seen to be average people that enjoy all types of film so this wide spread enjoyment means that all types of films can technically be directed at the mainstream. Aspirers are more worried about socail status so if everyone has seen the latest action film they will want to be involved by seeing the film themselves. Action apocalypse films also target the explorers as the apocalyptic films often push technological boundaries with their effect and use of 3D on some ocassions.• Lifestyle Segmentation: FLY, SKIPPY, YUBBIE, LIPS, OPF, SINBAD

So who would our film target?• Our film would target a similar demographic to that of the similar films I have

already shown. I can imagine that our target audience in one person would be a 16-20 year old male who enjoys going to the cinema on more than one occasion a month and enjoys all types of action films. This person would be very mainstream with other interest in certain sports and social media/ general socialising. Our film would appeal to this person as maybe his others friends have seen the film and he would want to be involved by watching the film also, or maybe he is interested in what a post apocalyptic world may look like following a disaster that has left civilization on the brink.
