Materi Pembelajaran A. Pengertian Descriptive TextDescriptive Text adalah jenis teks Bahasa Inggris yang menggambarkan ciri ciri manusia, benda, tempat,dan hewan tertentu secara khusus. Isi sebuah descriptive text biasanya menjelaskan penampakannya, tekstur, atau bisa juga suaranya..

B. Communicative Purpose Descriptive TextCommunicative Purpose dari Descriptive Text adalah untuk mendeskripsikan ciri-ciri makhluk hidup, benda, hewan atau tempat tertentu secara khusus berdasarkan penglihatan si penulis.

C. Generic Structure Descriptive TextDescriptive Text dibagi menjadi dua bagian:1. Identification Identification berisi tentang pengenalan topik atau apa yang akan dideskripsikan atau dijelaskan.2. Description Description berisi tentang pendeskripsian atau penggambaran lebih lanjut mengenai topik yang ada di Identification. 

D. Ciri Kebahasan Descriptive Text1.Descriptive Text Memakai Present Tense, misalnya: have, eat, walk, etc.  2.Descriptive Text Memakai berbagai jenis Adjectives (kata sifat) yang bersifat Describing (mengambarkan), Numbering (Menjumlahkan), dan Classifying (mengklasifikasikan), Sebagai contoh: two big hands, sharp nose, etc.  3.Descriptive Text Memakai Relating Verbs yang memberikan informasi tentang subject, sebagai contoh :my uncle is really kind person, That bird has very thin fur, etc.  4.Descriptive Text Memakai Thinking Verbs (kata kerja yang menggunakan pikiran, seperti beleive, think, etc.) dan Feeling Verbs (kata kerjayang menggunakan perasaan, seperti feel) untuk menggambarkan pendapat pribadi penulis tentang subjeknya.5.Descriptive Text juga Memakai Adverbs (kata keterangan) untuk membagikan informasi tambahan mengenai perilaku atau sifat (Adjective) yang dijelaskan, misalnya: totally, extremely, & definitely

Berikut ini adalah Contoh Descriptive Text about My Mom yang  diharapkan membantu pemahaman teman - teman mengenai  Descriptive Text di atas. 

My Mom 

I have to tell you about my mother. Her name is Meriana. She is outstandingly beautiful anyway she is not tall. She has chestnut and light skin. Her eyes shading is chestnut. Her eyes are dazzling and amazing. I really love her eyes. 

She is a greatly kind person. She is sporty. She venerates to divert and engross her adolescents when her children were exasperates. She by and large rouses me to understand various things and research the data with experience. She is patient and compelling woman I have ever known. She appreciates to help people. She is an average individual, as a wife and mother. She by and large manages her group. She loves her life partner and children all that much. 

She adores her home to be clean and faultless. She does most of the assignments without home accomplice and she similarly can manage her work. She works as an advisor. She opens an office at home. Her clients genuinely like her work in light of the fact that my mother is surprising in mind science. She is the best place to grant stories and she for the most part gives remarkable advices in case we have issues. 

For my father, my mother is everything. She is his life. He can't live without my mother. Everything seems, by all accounts, to be so untidy if my mother goes to other city for a couple of days. My mother is a blessed courier without wings. She is a holy person for me. She is someone who I treasure the most in my life. I wish she will reliably be sound and energetic.

F. Kata –kata describing people

Contoh kalimat :Pertanyaan : What is your opinion about Rania? (Apa pendapatmu tentang Rania?)Jawaban : Rania is beautiful. She is very smart. (Rania cantik. Dia sangat pandai.)

Pertanyaan : What is your opinion about Raka? (Apa pendapatmu tentang Raka?)Jawaban : Raka is handsome. He is very cheerful. (Raka tampan. Dia sangat ceria.)

Untuk menanyakan pendapat orang lain tentang sesuatu, digunakan kalimat :- What do you think about ....?- What is your opinion about ...?

2. Physical Appearance (Penampilan Pisik)There are many words can be categorized into words that describe a person's general appearance, eyes, ears, face, nose, arms, hair, height and build.Ada banyak kata yang dapat digunakan untuk menggambarkan orang dari penampilan pisik yaitu mata, telinga, wajah, hidung, lengan, rambut,tinggi dan bentuk.- sharp eyes : mata tajam

INSIDE BUCKINGHAM PALACE

There are two addresses in London that the whole world knows. One is 10 Downing Street, where the prime Minister lives. The other is Buckingham Palace. This famous palace, first built in 1703, is in the very centre of London.It is two places, not one. It is a family house, where children play and grow up. It is also the place where presidents, kings, and politicians go to meet the Queen.Buckingham Palace is like a small town, with a police station two post offices, a hospital, a bar, two sports clubs, a disco, a cinemal, and a swimming pool. There are 600 rooms and three miles of red carpet. Two men work full-time to look after the 300 clocks. About 700 people work in the Palace.

Natural Bridge National Park

Natural Bridge National Park is luscious tropical rainforest.

It is located 110 kilometers from south of Brisbane and is reached by following the Pacific Highway to Nerang and then by travelling through the Numinbah Valley. This scenic roadway lies in the shadow of Lamington National Park.

The phenomenon of the rock formed into a natural ‘arch’ and the cave through which a waterfall cascades is a short one-kilometer walk below a dense rainforest canopy from the main picnic area. Swimming is permitted in the rock pools. Night-time visitors to the cave will discover the unique feature of the glow worms. Picnic areas offers toilets, barbeque, shelter sheds, water and fireplaces; however, overnight camping is not permitted.
