Memiliki hampir 80% hak pengusahaan jalan tol di Indonesia, Jasa Marga tampil sebagai pengelola jalan tol terkemuka di tanah air. Walau telah berpengalaman lebih dari 30 tahun, Jasa Marga tidak pernah berhenti memperbaiki diri serta menjadikan Perseroan tumpuan harapan bagi segenap stakeholder.

Salah satunya adalah melalui penerapan prinsip-prinsip

transparansi, akuntabilitas, tanggung jawab, kemandirian

serta kewajaran sebagaimana tertuang di dalam asas GCG

(Good Corporate Governance). GCG tersebut kini telah

menjadi pedoman pelaksanaan manajemen Jasa Marga

secara umum, baik dari aspek pengembangan, operasional

maupun dalam melakukan interaksi sosial, khususnya

dengan masyarakat di sekitar daerah operasional, yaitu

melalui kegiatan CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility).

Semangat yang terkandung dalam penerapan CSR itu sendiri

memandang masyarakat sebagai stakeholder penting bagi

kelangsungan operasional perusahaan.

One of which is through the implementation of transparency,

accountability, responsibility, independence and fairness

pursuant to the principles of GCG (Good Corporate

Governance). This GCG principles have become the guideline

on which the Company’s management is based upon,

whether in undertaking development, operations or social

interaction, within the communities in which the Company

operates, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

activities. The spirit that is contained in the implementation

of the CSR itself is to regard these communities as key

stakeholders for the sustainability of the Company’s

operations.

Owning close to 80% of all toll road concessions in Indonesia, Jasa Marga is by far the leading developer and operator of toll roads in the country. Even with more than 30 years of experience under its belt, Jasa Marga never ceases to improve itself and to make the Company a beacon of hope for all of its stakeholders.

Komitmen Jasa Marga yang kuat terhadap pelaksanaan

CSR tersebut dapat dilihat mulai dari proses pengambilan

keputusan, penentuan skala prioritas hingga tahap

implementasi serta pemantauan di lapangan. Semuanya

bertumpu pada upaya memberikan yang terbaik kepada

masyarakat secara berkeadilan.

Program CSR Jasa Marga dikembangkan dan dilaksanakan

ke arah peningkatan tiga faktor utama yang sangat

mempengaruhi kualitas hidup masyarakat secara umum,

yaitu kesejahteraan, pendidikan, dan kesehatan.

Untuk membantu mengentaskan masyarakat dari

kemiskinan, Jasa Marga berupaya memberdayakan ekonomi

rakyat melalui perluasan kesempatan berusaha dan

kesempatan kerja, dengan menggandeng usaha berskala

mikro dan kecil sebagai Mitra Binaan. Program ini diharapkan

mampu mendorong potensi ekonomi rakyat dalam kerangka

pemerataan pembangunan.

Tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan juga diwujudkan dalam

bidang pendidikan, antara lain melalui perbaikan sarana

belajar-mengajar serta bantuan bea-siswa bagi siswa tak

mampu. Sementara itu bidang kesehatan dan perbaikan

lingkungan juga menjadi perhatian utama perusahaan.

Berbagai kegiatan yang dilakukan pada ketiga bidang

tersebut - yaitu pendidikan, kesehatan dan lingkungan -

diharapkan mampu memberikan sumbangsih Jasa Marga

bagi terwujudnya masyarakat yang cerdas, sehat serta

produktif, sehingga mampu menyejahterakan lingkungannya

maupun keluarganya masing-masing.

Kiranya berbagai kegiatan tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan

yang telah dilaksanakan Jasa Marga selama ini dapat menjadi

kebanggaan sekaligus inspirasi bagi kita semua untuk

berbuat lebih baik lagi di masa mendatang.

Jasa Marga’s strong commitment towards CSR

implementation can be seen starting from the decision

making process, priority setting, to implementing and

monitoring the program on the ground. All of this is based

on efforts to provide the best for the communities in a just

manner.

Jasa Marga’s CSR program has been developed and

implemented with the aim of enhancing the three major

factors that determine the quality of life of communities in

general, namely welfare, education and health.

In order alleviate poverty among communities, the

Partnership Program of Jasa Marga seeks to empower grass-

root economies through the expansion of both business and

job opportunities, and by engaging micro and small-scale

businesses as Patronage Partners. This program is expected

to boost the potential of grass-root economies within the

framework of equitable development.

The Corporate Social Responsibility of Jasa Marga is

also manifested in the area of education, such as the

renovation of school buildings and facilities, the provision

of scholarships. The areas of healthcare and environmental

conservation also demand the keen attention of the

Company. Various activities that are undertaken in these

three areas - education, healthcare and the environment - are

expected to contribute to the development of communities

that are educated, healthy and productive, and thereby able

to improve their community welfare as well as that of their

respective families.

We hope that the corporate social responsibility that has

been undertaken by Jasa Marga to date can be a source of

pride and inspiration for all of us to look forward to greater

achievements in the years to come.

Tolok ukur keberhasilan Jasa Marga sebagai perusahaan

terdepan tidak saja diukur dari keberhasilannya secara

finansial ataupun manajerial dalam membangun dan

mengelola jalan tol. Tetapi keberhasilan itu juga dilihat dari

bagaimana Jasa Marga melaksanakan program-program CSR

sebagai bentuk tanggung jawab sosial perusahaan. Karena

CSR merupakan salah satu bagian dari penerapan GCG yang

memandang masyarakat sebagai stakeholder penting bagi

keberlanjutan operasional perusahaan dalam jangka panjang,

maka keberadaan masyarakat di lingkungan sekitar jalan tol

tidak luput dari perhatian Jasa Marga.

Kepedulian Jasa Marga terhadap masyarakat dan

lingkungannya diwujudkan dalam berbagai kegiatan antara

lain program kemitraan, bantuan pendidikan, kesehatan dan

kegiatan sosial lainnya serta program-program yang berkaitan

dengan peningkatan kualitas hidup.

Program Kemitraan (PK) merupakan program penyaluran

pinjaman lunak kepada pelaku usaha mikro/koperasi dengan

mengutamakan aspek permodalan dan investasi usaha.

Syarat untuk mendapatkan pinjaman sangat mudah. Selain

memiliki usaha yang berprospek cerah, Mitra Binaan harus

memiliki kesungguhan dalam berbisnis serta itikad baik yang

terwujud dalam pengembalian pinjaman.

Tujuan pelaksanaan PK ini adalah agar Mitra Binaan tidak

sekedar mampu bertahan hidup, melainkan lebih daripada

itu, mampu mengembangkan diri hingga dapat memberi

manfaat bagi masyarakat sekitarnya. Daya gerak ekonomi

kerakyatan di sekitar wilayah operasional perusahaan

menjadi meningkat dan pada akhirnya derajat kesejahteraan

masyarakat pun diharapkan semakin membaik.

Program Bina Lingkungan (BL) merupakan kegiatan

penyaluran bantuan yang sifatnya amal demi peningkatan

taraf hidup sosial kemasyarakatan dalam bidang pendidikan,

kesehatan, keagamaan, lingkungan hidup dan perbaikan

fasilitas umum di sekitar jalan tol. Bantuan pendidikan

diwujudkan lewat perbaikan sarana fisik gedung sekolah

beserta peralatan dan meja kursinya, maupun pemberian

beasiswa. Pada tahun 2002 Jasa Marga membuka Program

Pendidikan Diploma D4 di bidang Pengoperasian Jalan Tol

guna menghasilkan lulusan siap pakai dalam mendukung

perkembangan industri jalan tol secara nasional.

Bantuan bidang kesehatan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk

layanan pengobatan secara cuma-cuma, termasuk juga

pengasapan nyamuk demam berdarah, renovasi puskemas,

measured from its financial achievements, nor of its capability

to build and operate toll roads. This success is also viewed

from the perspectives of how Jasa Marga undertakes

programs that are part of its corporate social responsibility

(CSR). Since CSR is part of the implementation of GCG that

considers communities as key stakeholders that contribute

to the sustainability of Jasa Marga’s operations over the long

term, the well-being of those communities in the vicinity

of Jasa Marga’s toll roads has not been overlooked by the

Company.

Jasa Marga’s concern for the community and environment is

manifested through several partnership program, healthcare

and other social activities as well as programs that are

associated with improvements in the quality of life.

The Patronage Partnership (PP) program provides soft

loans to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or

cooperatives, focusing on the aspect of capitalization and

business investment. The criteria to obtain the loans are

simple. In addition to having a prospective business, the

Patronage Partner should be committed to the business and

be able to show goodwill in the repayment of the loans.

The aim of the PP program is not only to help the survivability

of the Patronage Partner’s business, but more importantly,

also develop the business in that it could benefit local

communities as well. These programs seek to turn the

wheels of local economies, which in turn can be expected to

improve the social welfare and prosperity of the people in the

communities in which Jasa Marga operates.

The Community Development program provides aids and

funding activities that are philanthropic in nature for the

cause of improving social welfare through education,

healthcare, religious affairs, environment, and public

facilities in surrounding toll road areas. Education aids are

provided through the renovation of the school facilities

and equipment, as well as the provision of scholarships. In

2002, Jasa Marga inaugurated the four-year Diploma D4

education program in the field Toll Road Operations that has

since produced graduates who are trained to support the

development of the national toll road industry.

Healthcare aids are carried out through medical checks that

are provided free-of-charge, including the provision of free

medicines, as well as eradication of dengue-fever carrying

pelaksanaan kegiatan donor darah, sunatan massal,

serta operasi bibir sumbing dan katarak. Untuk kegiatan

keagamaan, Jasa Marga menyalurkan hewan kurban dan

mendanai peringatan hari-hari besar keagamaan.

Untuk menjaga kelestarian lingkungan hidup dan kondisi

sosial masyarakat di sekitar jalan tol, Jasa Marga telah

memperhitungkan dengan cermat dampak lingkungan

melalui amdal (analisis mengenai dampak lingkungan) dengan

melibatkan institusi yang kredibel. Agar lingkungan tetap hijau,

Jasa Marga melakukan penanaman pohon yang dapat menyerap

polusi di berbagai tempat, terutama di lingkungan jalan tol.

Untuk perbaikan fasilitas umum, Jasa Marga melakukan

perbaikan jalan di seputar jalan tol, perbaikan jembatan, gorong-

gorong, jalan desa, sarana olahraga dan lain sebagainya.

Selain itu, Jasa Marga memberi bantuan kepada masyarakat

yang tertimpa musibah dan bencana alam dengan

diterjunkannya tim relawan ke daerah-daerah bencana. Tim

relawan ini telah melaksanakan tugas ke Aceh dan Nias

sehubungan dengan bencana tsunami, serta ke Yogyakarta

dan Pangandaran saat terjadi gempa bumi dan gelombang

pasang. Di tempat-tempat bencana itu, selain membantu

merenovasi rumah ataupun gedung sekolah yang rusak, tim

relawan juga membantu mendirikan dapur umum, memberi

bantuan makanan, obat-obatan serta dana rehabilitasi.

Sebagai BUMN, Jasa Marga juga turut mendukung

pelaksanaan program sosial BUMN Peduli bersama dengan

BUMN lainnya.

Bagi Jasa Marga, pelaksanaan CSR ini bukan semata-mata

sebagai pemenuhan kewajiban sebagai BUMN, melainkan

juga merupakan salah satu inisiatif penting dalam menunjang

keberhasilan operasional secara jangka panjang. Selain itu,

CSR ini juga merupakan penegasan komitmen Jasa Marga

untuk berkembang bersama masyarakat dan lingkungan di

sekitarnya.

on eye cataracts and lip deformities. In religious affairs, Jasa

Marga donates sacrificial cows and lambs and helps fund

religious commemorations.

To help conserve the environment and social conditions of

the communities in the surrounding areas of Jasa Marga toll

roads, Jasa Marga has carried out extensive analyses on the

environmental impact of toll roads, commissioned by credible

institutions. To preserve a green environment, Jasa Marga

undertakes a tree planting program that can absorb carbon

dioxide within the surrounding areas of toll roads. Whereas

in the case of public facilities, Jasa Marga carries out repair

and construction works on nearby public roads, bridges,

drainages, village roads, sports facilities and others.

In addition, Jasa Marga provided humanitarian aids for those

affected by natural disasters by dispatching volunteers to

disaster-stricken areas. Jasa Marga volunteers were present

in Aceh and Nias on the occasion of the tsunami disaster,

and in Yogyakarta and Pangandaran immediately following

the earthquake and high tide disasters. In those stricken

areas, Jasa Marga volunteers helped reconstruct homes and

schools, organized emergency kitchen, and distributed foods,

medicines as well as rehabilitation funds.

As a state-owned enterprise, Jasa Marga also participates in

the implementation of the social program, SOE Care, along

with other SOEs.

For Jasa Marga, the implementation of CSR is not merely

to meet its obligation as an SOE, but also represents a key

initiative to support the operational success in the long term.

In addition, the CSR program also constitutes a reaffirmation

of the commitments of Jasa Marga to grow together

alongside its communities and environment.

Satu Cita Menggapai Tujuan Bersama MitraProgram Kemitraan Jasa MargaAchieving the Goals of Jasa Marga Partnership Program

Program Kemitraan Jasa Marga diimplementasikan ke dalam

dua bentuk, yakni (i) dalam bentuk bantuan pinjaman usaha,

dan (ii) dalam bentuk hibah. Bantuan pinjaman ini ditujukan

kepada usaha mikro dan Mitra Binaan lainnya agar mereka

terbantu dari segi permodalan dan investasi dalam upaya

meningkatkan kinerja dan skala usaha. Pengguliran dana

ini diharapkan mampu memberi dampak bagi perluasan

kesempatan usaha serta penciptaan lapangan kerja bagi

masyarakat di lingkungannya.

Oleh sebab itu, tujuan akhir program tersebut diarahkan

untuk mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi masyarakat secara

lebih luas, dan tidak semata untuk pengembangan usaha

Mitra Binaan Jasa Marga itu sendiri. Dari situlah keberhasilan

pembinaan Jasa Marga dapat diukur, yaitu bagaimana Mitra

Binaan tersebut mampu memberikan manfaat sebesar-

besarnya bagi dirinya maupun masyarakat di lingkungannya.

Dana pelaksanaan Program Kemitraan berasal dari laba

bersih Perseroan, yang disisihkan sebesar maksimal

2% untuk pendanaan program kemitraan tersebut.

Selain menyalurkan bantuan dalam bentuk uang, Jasa

Marga menyelenggarakan program pendampingan yang

bertujuan untuk meningkatkan akselerasi kinerja dan

produktifitas UKM. Program ini diberikan secara hibah,

artinya difasilitasi sepenuhnya oleh Jasa Marga. Program

ini mencakup penyelenggaraan pendidikan dan latihan

di bidang manajemen usaha kecil, serta melibatkan Mitra

Binaan dalam ajang pameran dan promosi di dalam dan

luar negeri. Melalui diklat ini, diharapkan UKM memperoleh

pengetahuan dan inspirasi tentang pengelolaan usaha secara

modern. Event-event yang mereka ikut antara lain adalah

Jakarta Expo, Inacraft, Gelar Produk Daerah dan Pekan Raya

Jakarta (PRJ) dan Pameran diberbagai tempat di tanah air

lainnya.

Guna meningkatkan kualitas dan implementasi di lapangan,

setiap tahun Unit Program Kemitraan semua cabang ruas

jalan tol Jasa Marga mengadakan Rapat Koordinasi agar

diperoleh rekomendasi-rekomendasi berguna bagi tindak

lanjut pelaksanaan Program Kemitraan di masa mendatang.

Selama tahun 2008, total dana yang telah direalisasikan

untuk Program Kemitraan ini adalah Rp16,972 miliar. Berikut

ini adalah kisah sukses beberapa Mitra Binaan Jasa Marga.

The Jasa Marga Partnership Program is implemented in two

forms, namely (i) assistance in the form of business loans,

and (ii) assistance in the form of grants. Loan assistance to

small businesses and those in the partnership programs are

given out to help them in their capitalization and investment

so that they can improve the scale and performance of

their businesses. These fund inflows are expected to help

them expand their business opportunities and create job

opportunities for the local community.

As such, the ultimate goal of this program is not merely to

develop the businesses of those that are in the Jasa Marga

partnership program, but also directed to encourage growth

of the broader economy. This is where Jasa Marga’s success

can be measured, specifically in the ability of the Patronage

Partners to provide benefits to themselves as well as for the

broader communities.

Funding for the implementation of the Partnership Program

comes from the Company’s net profit, of which a maximum

of 2% is set aside for the program. In addition to financial

support, Jasa Marga also provides consultative support to

further accelerate the performance and productivity of the

SME. These programs are provided in the form of grants,

meaning that they are fully facilitated by Jasa Marga. This

program includes providing education and training in small

business management, and engaging the Patronage Partners

in various promotional and exhibition events both at home

and abroad. Through the training programs, Partners are

expected to gain insight and knowledge in modern business

practices. The events that they participated in include among

other the Jakarta Expo, Inacraf., Introduction of Regional

Products at Pekan Raya Jakarta (PRJ) and various trade fairs

throughout the country.

In order to improve the quality and implementation in

the field, each year the working unit responsible for the

Partnership Program in all toll road branches of Jasa Marga

held Coordination Meetings in order to obtain useful follow

up recommendations in implementing the program in the

future. During 2008, total realized funds for the Partnership

Program amounted to Rp16.972 billion. The following

feature stories describe the successes of some of the

Patronage Partners of Jasa Marga.

Home Industri Obat Herbal di Medan

Dari sebuah profesi, kini berlanjut menjadi wira usaha

home industry. Begitulah jenis usaha obat-obatan herbal

yang diusung oleh Bapak dan Ibu Samran dengan nama CV

Ratulangi. Rumah mereka yang sekaligus dijadikan tempat

produksi terletak di sebuah komplek perumahan yang besar

dan asri di Kecamatan Medan Johor, Medan. Banyak sudah

jenis obat-obatan herbal yang mereka produksi, mulai dari

yang umum seperti obat batuk, flu, maag, penambah nafsu

makan, penambah kekebalan tubuh anak hingga obat untuk

mengobati penyakit ginjal.

Walaupun obat herbal, semuanya dikemas dengan kemasan

layaknya obat modern. Khasiatnya tidak diragukan lagi

dan dapat dipertanggungjawabkan tidak memiliki efek

sampingan, berkat latar belakang pendidikan sarjana farmasi

yang mereka peroleh dari Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU).

Hingga kini Pak Samran masih berprofesi sebagai dosen

di Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), sementara sang isteri

meninggalkan profesi sebagai apoteker untuk mengawasi

kegiatan usaha sehari-hari.

Di kala mereka sedang merintis usaha itulah Jasa Marga hadir

memberikan bantuan yang benar-benar dirasakan mampu

meningkatkan kinerja usaha secara signifikan. “Sebagian

dari bantuan tersebut dipergunakan untuk membeli mesin

pengemas obat manual, yang lain untuk mendukung biaya

pemasaran, lainnya untuk membeli bahan baku tumbuh-

tumbuhan,“ ujar Bu Samran. Jasa Marga pula yang membawa

produk mereka ke berbagai pameran. Berkat bantuan

pinjaman tersebut kapasitas produksi semakin meningkat dan

Herbal Medicine Home Industry in Medan

From a profession, it now continues to become a home

industry business. Those are the types of herbal medicines

that are offered by Mr. and Mrs. Samran, in the name of CV

Ratulangi. Their home which doubles as their production

house is located in a large and beautiful housing complex in

the District of Johor, Medan. They have manufactured many

types of herbal medicines, ranging from general medicine

such as cough, flu, ulcer, appetite enhancer and increasing

children’s immune system to medications to treat kidney

diseases.

Although it is herbal medicine, it is all packed in modern

packaging, just like those “modern” medicines. Their

medicinal properties are beyond a doubt and without any

side effects. This is due to their pharmaceutical education

they received from North Sumatra University (USU). Mr.

Samran is still a lecturer at the University of North Sumatra

(USU), while his wife retired from being a pharmacist to

oversee the day-to-day business.

It is when they were at their infancy stage of this business

that Jasa Marga began to provide assistance that really

enabled them to significantly improve their business

performance. “Some of the aid is used to buy manual

packaging machine, some to support the cost of marketing

and others to buy new raw materials,” said Mrs. Samran.

Jasa Marga also introduced their products to various

exhibitions. With the help of the loan, production capacity

increased and the scope of sales expanded outside of North

cakupan penjualannya melebar hingga ke luar Sumatera Utara.

Kini hampir di semua toko obat dan apotik, orang dapat

memperoleh obat herbal mereka dengan mudah.

Kedua pasangan ini sempat jatuh bangun dalam

mengembangkan jaringan pemasarannya. Usaha yang

mereka rintis awalnya dilakukan secara gerilya dengan

mendekati para bidan. Kini, bukan saja bidan yang

merekomendasikan obat herbal mereka, tetapi bahkan

produk mereka dijual secara resmi di apotik RSUD Pringadi

Medan. Kapasitas produksi per produk rata-rata 5.000 botol

per minggu. Mereka tak perlu lagi bersusah payah secara

penjual selalu siap menyebarkan produk mereka hingga ke

Aceh dan Sumatera Barat.

Sejumlah karyawan yang dipekerjakan pada usaha ini

semuanya berasal dari lingkungan sekitar rumah tinggal.

Hal ini membuktikan peran Mitra Binaan Jasa Marga

membantu meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat sekitar.

Dengan semakin besarnya skala usaha, kini Bapak dan Ibu

Samran sedang dalam persiapan untuk melompat ke tahap

selanjutnya yaitu menjadi pengusaha berskala nasional.

Banyak sudah berbagai pihak/ institusi keuangan yang

berusaha “ meminang” mereka. Bahkan sebuah bank

pemerintah terbesar menawarkan kredit senilai Rp300 juta.

Namun oleh karena prinsip kehati-hatian tetap mereka

kedepankan, mereka urung menerimanya, sampai mereka

merasa mantap dalam mengayunkan langkah ke depan.

Untuk kesekian kalinya mereka telah menerima kredit dari

Jasa Marga. Mereka mengakui, untuk melangkah ke arah

selanjutnya butuh modal yang tak sedikit. Mereka berharap

dapat kembali dibantu, karena Jasa Marga juga memberikan

bimbingan dan perhatian, tidak sekedar pinjaman uang saja,

demikian ungkap Bu Samran menutup pembicaraan.

Usaha Gerabah Abdul Malik Sembiring di Tanjung Morawa, Deli Serdang

Usaha gerabah milik Abdul Malik Sembiring dengan nama

Karya Cipta Lestari terletak di sebelah selatan kota Medan,

tepatnya di Jl. Wonosari Tanjung Morawa. Di dalamnya

tampak ada bangunan sederhana berbentuk huruf U yang

terbagi ke dalam sekat-sekat untuk ruang pamer, ruang

Sumatra. Now in almost all drug stores and pharmacies,

people can get their herbal medicines easily.

Mr and Mrs Samran had their ups and downs in developing

their marketing network. Initially, only local midwives

were their marketing target but now their herbal medicine

products are sold officially in apothecary of RSUD Pringadi

(Hospital) in Medan. The production capacity averages 5,000

bottles per week. They do not need to bother about “door

to door” sales because the sales agents are always ready to

spread their products to Aceh and West Sumatra.

A number of employees employed in this business come

from the neighbourhood. This proves the important role

of Jasa Marga in helping to improve the local community.

With the business getting bigger, Mr. and Mrs. Samran is

currently making preparations to jump to the next stage,

that is business of a national scale. Many different parties

and financial institutions have tried to “woo” them. Even

one of the government’s biggest bank was offering loans

worth Rp300 million. However, because of their belief in

the principle of prudence, they did not accept any of these

advances until they feel solid and strong enough to take the

next big step.

Mrs Samran, in closing the discussion acknowledged that

for the umpteenth time they had received credit from Jasa

Marga and that for the next step forward, bigger capital

is required. Hopefully Jasa Marga will assist them again

because Jasa Marga not only provides financial assistance

but also continues to provide guidance and attention.

Pottery (Gerabah) Business of Abdul Malik Sembiring in Tanjung Morawa, Deli Serdang

The Gerabah Business owned by Abdul Malik Sembiring

called Cipta Lestari is located on Jl. Wonosari Tanjung

Morawa in the southern city of Medan. There one can

find a simple U-shaped building, divided into sections for

the showroom, production and kiln. The old, the young,

produksi dan tempat pembakaran. Tua, muda, anak-anak

dan dewasa turut ambil bagian dalam proses produksi.

Namun tidak semuanya merupakan karyawan tetap Bapak

Abdul Malik Sembiring. “Sebagian merupakan karyawan

lepas yang sudah mahir dan membuat gerabah sendiri di

rumah mereka masing-masing dan dibawa ke sini untuk

dibakar,” ujarnya. Sebagian besar gerabahnya diproduksi

untuk memenuhi kebutuhan estetika perumahan maupun

kantor, sisanya baru untuk keperluan masak-memasak.

Karyawan yang sebagian besar berasal dari tetangga

sekitarnya ini merupakan binaan Pak Abdul Malik sendiri.

Dengan demikian, orang yang telah merasakan bantuan Jasa

Marga ini kini juga membantu masyarakat di sekelilingnya.

Beliau sendiri sudah merintis usaha sejak sekitar dua

puluh tahun yang lalu. Awalnya sebuah usaha keluarga

yang berlokasi di tempat lain, kemudian dilanjutkan dan

dikembangkan sendiri oleh Pak Abdul Malik di tanah milik

sendiri seluas kurang lebih 1,5 hektar ini.

Pak Abdul mengakui bahwa titik balik usahanya diawali

tatkala ia memperoleh kredit dari Jasa Marga. Pada awalnya

jumlahnya tidak banyak, hanya sekitar Rp5 juta sepuluh

tahun lalu. Namun bantuan sebesar itu sudah cukup untuk

meningkatkan kapasitas produksi yang dirasakan semakin

lama semakin tidak memadai menyusul permintaan pasokan

barang yang makin meningkat. Kini usahanya sudah semakin

berkembang. Nilai pinjamannya pun telah naik menjadi

Rp15 juta. Produknya sudah merambah ke hingga ke Pulau

Jawa dan Malaysia.

neighbourhood, are partners of Mr. Abdul Malik himself.

Mr. Abdul has been in the business twenty years ago.

Originally it was a family business located in another place,

then it was resumed and developed by Mr. Abdul Malik

himself using his own land of about 1.5 hectares.

Mr. Abdul admitted that the turning point behind the

business was when he obtained a loan from Jasa Marga. At

the beginning, ten years ago, it was not large, only about

Rp5 million. Nevertheless, that loan was enough to increase

the production capacity to meet the increasing demands.

Now the business is fast growing. The loan has also

increased to Rp15 million. The products have also spread to

the island of Java and Malaysia.

Dengan harga berkisar antara Rp5.000 hingga Rp1,5 juta

untuk gerabah paling besar, produknya relatif sangat

kompetitif dari segi harga. Pesaingnya hampir tak ada,

karena memang hampir tak ada orang yang menjalankan

usaha seperti ini di Tanjung Morawa. Pak Abdul berani

menjamin produknya lebih murah dan lebih kuat ketimbang

gerabah yang di Jawa. “Di Jawa, lama pembakaran hanya 3

jam sementara di sini 6 hingga 9 jam,” jelasnya.

Ada hasrat terbersit dalam diri Pak Abdul untuk memperluas

usahanya lagi. Untuk itu ia berharap Jasa Marga dapat

mengucurkan pinjaman yang jumlahnya lebih besar lagi.

“Sudah terlanjur terjalin erat,” begitu penuturan Pak Abdul

menjawab pertanyaan mengapa tidak mengharapkan

bantuan institusi lain.

Usaha Dodol Durian di Desa Bengkel

Sebuah usaha pembuatan dodol dilakukan oleh pasangan

suami-isteri Eriyadi di desa Bengkel, sebuah desa yang

menjadi sentra industri pembuatan dodol di Sumatera Utara.

Pemilik toko Anugerah yang berlokasi di pinggir jalan Lintas

Sumatera ini merasa bersyukur bahwa usahanya telah maju

oleh karena rejeki dari Allah. Karena pertemuannya dengan

Jasa Marga terjadi secara tak terencana saat ia membuka

toko hingga larut malam. Dari pertemuan itulah mereka

memperoleh penawaran pinjaman awal sejumlah Rp5 juta

sebagai bagian dari Program Kemitraan di tahun 1996.

Sejak menerima bantuan tersebut, lambat laun usahanya

berkembang, pelanggannya semakin banyak hingga mampu

merenovasi kiosnya bahkan membeli kios di sebelahnya.

Omsetnya makin membesar sehingga pasangan ini mampu

melunasi pinjaman dan memperoleh pinjaman baru senilai

Rp10 juta, dan terakhir Rp20 juta. Pendapatannya makin

memuncak saat mendekati Lebaran, terlihat dari jumlah

dodol yang telah diproduksi dengan enam kuali, masing-

masing kuali seberat 16 kg. Dalam seharinya, pembelian

bahan dasar gula merah bisa mencapai Rp30 juta dan bahan

baku kelapa senilai Rp8 juta. Pada saat-saat seperti inilah

Toko Anugerah mulai mengerahkan tenaga-tenaga baru

dari sekitar lingkungan kiosnya untuk membantu proses

produksi. Dengan demikian mereka telah turut membantu

meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat sekitar.

not expect help from other institutions.

Durian Dodol Business in Bengkel Village

A dodol business carried out by the husband and wife

team of Mr. and Mrs. Eriyadi in Bengkel, a village in

North Sumatra that has become a center for the dodol

confectionary industry. The owners of the Anugerah Store

that is located on the side of the main trans Sumatra

road-lane feel fortunate and grateful that their business

has progressed by the grace of God. They met with Jasa

Marga unexpectedly in their store late one night. From that

meeting, they were offered an initial loan of Rp5 million

as part of the Partnership Program in 1996. Since receiving

the loan, their business has grown steadily, acquiring more

customers and enabling them to renovate their kiosk and

even acquired the kiosk next to theirs.

Business turnover increased so much that they were able to

pay off the loan and obtained new loans of Rp10 million,

and most recently for Rp20 million. Incomes soared when

the month of Ramadhan approaches. It can be seen from

the number of dodols that was produced in six large frying

pans, weighing16 kg each. On any given day, the business

could spend up to Rp30 million on the basic ingredient of

brown sugar, and around Rp8 million on coconut as another

raw material. It is at times like these that Anugerah Store

begins to recruit workers from around the kiosk to help

with production. In this way, the couple have participated in

helping to improve the welfare of the local community.

Begitu banyaknya pelanggan yang datang dari Malaysia,

Kalimantan hingga Jawa tidak membuatnya kehilangan

kendali atas mutu, melainkan malah mendorongnya untuk

semakin ketat menjaganya. Kejujuran dan kendali mutu

menjadi ciri khas mereka dalam berproduksi. Kenyataan

bahwa dodol mereka diolah tanpa menggunakan bahan

pengawet dan hanya dapat bertahan selama 7 hari, bukan

3 bulan, tetap dikomunikasikan. Alhasil jumlah pelanggan

yang mengulangi pembelian semakin banyak. Hal itu mereka

syukuri dengan cara membayar kembali pinjaman secara

tepat waktu, bahkan sebelum jatuh tempo untuk pinjaman

yang senilai Rp20 juta. Dan saat produksi mencapai titik

puncak, mereka tak segan-segan berbagi rejeki dengan

merekrut tenaga-tenaga di sekitarnya.

Meskipun demikian, dalam menjalankan usaha sehari-hari

Toko Anugerah tidak pernah ngoyo atau memaksakan diri.

Mereka menolak tawaran mampir dari para pengemudi bus

wisata dengan imbalan tertentu dan cenderung memilih

pelanggan yang datang secara alamiah ke tokonya. “Rejeki

dari Allah” demikian semboyan mereka. Alhasil hingga

kini mereka selalu kebanjiran pelanggan, dan mereka pun

berharap kebersamaan dengan Jasa Marga dapat terus

dipertahankan selama mungkin.

And when production reaches its peak, they are not

reluctant to share their good fortune by recruiting workers

from the surrounding areas.

Furthermore, in running the day-to-day business they have

chosen not to get ahead of themselves. In that respect, they

have declived offers from bus drivers to drop off tourists at

their kiosk in return for commissions, and instead prefer to

welcome walk-in customers of their own will. “Our fortune

comes from Allah,” they explained. To this day, their store

is always swamped by happy customers, and they hope to

maintain their relationships with Jasa Marga for as long as

possible.

Budi Daya Ikan Hias di Lubuk Pakam

Bapak dan Ibu Ramlan membuka usaha budi daya ikan hias

di daerah yang menjadi sentra usaha ini di Sumatera Utara.

Keuletan dan kesungguhan telah membawa dari pelaku

usaha kecil menjadi salah satu bandar pemasok ikan hias

terbesar di daerah Lubuk Pakam. Terkesan akan keuletan

dan kesungguhannya, Jasa Marga memberikan beberapa

kali pinjaman hingga pinjaman terakhir senilai Rp40 juta.

Kesemua pinjaman ini dilunasi secara tepat waktu.

Profesi awal Pak Ramlan adalah pekerja bangunan,

sedangkan Ibu Ramlam seorang ibu rumah tangga.

Perkenalan mereka dengan ikan hias mulanya hanyalah

sebagai hobi semata yang kemudian diupayakan dapat

menjadi penghasilan utama. Bermodalkan dua kolam dan

satu drum, mereka mulai membeli ikan hiasnya hanya

bermodalkan Rp2.000 di tahun 1986. Walaupun banyak

tantangan dan tentangan, mereka tetap tekun hingga

mampu mengusahakan kolam seluas satu hektar dan ingin

mengembangkan lebih luas lagi. Pada saat inilah Jasa Marga

hadir memberikan pinjaman dengan bunga lunak yang

selama ini ia cari-cari.

Sejak itu laju pertumbuhan bisnisnya tak tertahankan lagi.

Kini mereka memiliki kolam induk untuk produksi seluas

kurang lebih 1,5 hektar, belum termasuk kolam pada

cabang-cabang usaha di tempat lain dengan luas yang

hampir sama. Kesuksesannya tak lepas dari kemampuannya

membina relasi dengan petani-petani ikan di sekitar

kolamnya. Tak segan-segan mereka memberi saran dan

Ornamental Fish Farming in Lubuk Pakam

Mr. and Mrs. Ramlan opened an ornamental fish farming

business, in an area that is the center of this business in

North Sumatra. Their determination and perseverance have

brought them from being a small business owner to one of

the largest ornamental fish suppliers in Lubuk Pakam. These

qualities have impressed Jasa Marga and led them to provide

several loans, the last one of which amounted to Rp40

million. All these loans were repaid on time.

Mr. Ramlan began as a construction worker, while Mrs.

Ramly is a housewife. Their introduction to ornamental fish

started as a hobby, and with ample efforts grew to become a

major source of earnings . Starting up with two ponds and a

drum, the couple bought their first ornamental fish in 1986

at a cost of only Rp2,000. Although they were initially faced

with many challenges and oppositions, they persevered until

they were able to manage and worked a one-hectare pond

with plans to expand the business further. It was at this time

that Jasa Marga came in and was able to give soft loans with

low interest rates that they had sought for all this time.

Since then the business grew rapidly. Today, they own pond

for production with an area of approximately 1.5 hectares

and also ponds to other places of roughly the same size in

other branches of the business. Success is not separated

from their ability to build relationships with other farmers in

the vicinity of their fish ponds. They are not reluctant to give

advice and to counsel novice farmers. In addition, many are

nasihat kepada para petani pemula. Selebihnya banyak pula

yang diberi bibit ikan untuk dibesarkan di kolam masing-

masing. Setelah ikan membesar dengan ukuran yang

disepakati, mereka membelinya dengan harga yang pantas.

Mereka senantiasa berusaha tidak mengecewakan semua

pihak.

Mungkin karena itu, mereka merasa tidak pernah mengalami

kesulitan dalam memasarkan ikan-ikan hiasnya. Hampir

tiap pagi para pedagang dari penjuru Sumatera, bahkan

ada yang dari Bukittinggi berkunjung untuk kulakan ikan.

Ikan-ikannya dijual mulai dari harga Rp250 hingga Rp25.000

per ekor. Setiap hari Senin dan Kamis Pak Ramlan pergi ke

Medan untuk mengirimkan pesanan para pelanggannya.

Memang ada kalanya ia menemui pelanggan yang enggan

membayar, namun hal itu dianggapnya bukan sebagai

kendala yang besar. Kendala satu-satunya yang selama

ini harus ia hadapi adalah kendala produksi yang selalu

terbentur pada pakan ikan jenis tertentu yang tak mudah

diperoleh di pasaran.

Peran Jasa Marga dalam membesarkan usahanya diakui

oleh pasangan suami-isteri ini. Kini mereka merasa

sudah saatnya untuk berlari kencang dalam menjalankan

roda bisnisnya. Oleh karenanya mereka berharap dapat

kembali memperoleh pinjaman dari Jasa Marga, yang

akan digunakan untuk membeli kendaraan operasional

serta memperluas kolam di usaha cabang. “Kalau boleh

dengan nominal di atas Rp40 juta”, ujar Pak Ramlan sambil

berharap.

Usaha Kaos Kaki yang Berhasil di Ungaran

Di kota Ungaran, Semarang, Bapak Ambo Umar Said merintis

industri rumah tangga yang memproduksi kaos kaki. Usaha

itu dijalankannya di pekarangan rumahnya yang disulap

menjadi tempat produksi sekaligus ruang pamer dan penjualan

produknya. Dalam menjalankan kegiatannya terutama yang

menyangkut penjualan, pria asal Sumatera ini dibantu oleh

sanak saudaranya serta beberapa karyawati yang berasal dari

seputar lingkungan rumahnya. Sementara ia lebih berkutat

dalam masalah produksi dan pemasaran usahanya.

Mesin-mesin yang dipergunakan sebagai alat produksi

adalah mesin rajut sederhana yang berukuran tak lebih besar

dari mesin fotokopi. Namun berkat kreatifitas dan hobinya

them raise their business. They now feel ready to accelerate

the growth of their business even faster. They are hoping

that they may get new loans from Jasa Marga, which will

be used to acquire a van for operations and also expand the

size of their ponds in the branch units. “If possible, a loan of

more than Rp40 million,” Mr. Ramlan said, hopefully.

A Successful Sock Business in Ungaran

In the town of Ungaran, Semarang, Pak Ambo Umar

started a home industry in producing socks. The business

is run in the back-yard of his home that doubles as a place

of production, sales as well as showroom. In carrying out

these activities, especially concerning the sale, Pak Ambo,

who is from Sumatra, is assisted by his relatives as well as

several lady workers from around the neighbourhood. His

own role is more on dealing with production and business

development side.

The machinery that is used for production is a simple

knitting machine no bigger than a copying machine.

Thanks to his creativity and hobby to take machines apart,

mengutak-atik mesin, alat-alat produksi itu bekerja lebih

maksimal namun lebih hemat listrik hingga 50%nya. “Kalau

bisa hemat, kenapa harus boros?” demikian prinsipnya.

Ketrampilan mengutak-atik mesin juga ditularkannya pada

sebagian karyawan yang awalnya sangat awam tentang

mesin. Sehingga saat terjadi ganguan mesin, mereka dapat

memperbaikinya sendiri.

Semangat efisensinya juga nampak dari pemilihan bahan baku.

Dia cenderung mengambil benang sisa produksi pabrik-pabrik

tekstil di Bandung. Alhasil, produknya dijual dengan harga

yang sangat kompetitif. Pada tampilan depan ruang pamernya

ada kaos kaki anak seharga Rp1.000 sepasang. Namun

untuk kualitas, produknya berani diadu dengan merek-merek

terkenal. Suatu saat ada seorang bintang sinetron TV yang

meragukan kualitas produknya. Pak Ambo mempersilakannya

menguji coba. Selang beberapa hari kemudian sang artis

datang kembali untuk memborong sebagian besar kaos

kakinya.

Diawali dengan pinjaman sebesar Rp5 juta pada tahun 1996,

kini cabang-cabang penjualan kaos kaki Pak Ambo sudah

tersebar di berbagai tempat di Semarang. Ada yang terletak di

tempat-tempat perbelanjaan biasa, ada pula yang mengambil

tempat di Mal Citra Land Semarang dengan biaya sewa Rp5 juta

per bulan. Dengan harga yang bervariatif dari mulai Rp1.000

hingga puluhan ribu Ru[iah sepasang, pendapatan kotor

usaha kaos kaki Pak Ambo mencapai lebih dari Rp900 juta per

bulan, suatu jumlah yang cukup untuk menutupi seluruh biaya

operasional termasuk menggaji karyawannya. Dengan dukungan

Program Kemitraan Jasa Marga, Pak Ambo yakin bahwa usaha

kaos kakinya dapat terus dikembangkan untuk menjangkau

pasar nasional, bersaing dengan kaos kaki impor sekalipun.

pair of children’s socks priced at Rp1.000. In terms of quality,

the products can compete with famous brands. On one

occasion, a television soap-opera star doubted the quality of

his socks. Mr. Ambo allowed her to have a trial use. A few

days later the actress came back to buy up most of the socks

as presents and souvenirs.

Starting from a loan of Rp5 million in 1996, now the

branches selling Mr. Ambo socks are spread out in various

places in Semarang. There are some located in normal

shopping areas, and some are in modern malls such as

Citra Land Mall Semarang, with rental cost of Rp5 million

per month. With prices varying from Rp1,000 to tens of

thousands of rupiah per pair, Mr. Ambo’s gross income now

reaches more than Rp900 million per month, an amount

that is sufficient to cover all operational costs including

the salaries of his employees. With the continuing support

of Jasa Marga, Pak Ambo is confident that he can grow

his sock business to reach markets nationwide, even to

compete against imported socks.

Usaha Batik di Sragen

Dewi Arum merupakan merek batik yang dikembangkan dan

diproduksi oleh Pak dan Bu Soemarsono di tengah-tengah

sebuah dusun bernama Kliwonan, Sragen, di Jawa Tengah.

Walaupun bukan merek yang dikenal luas secara nasional,

namun hasil produksinya banyak dibeli dan dipasarkan di

bawah merek yang sudah terkenal di Jakarta dan Solo. Motif

luar negeri di antaranya adalah dari Malaysia, Brunei dan

India. Perusahaan maupun instansi lainnya banyak pula yang

memesan dalam jumlah tertentu untuk keperluan seragam

karyawan mereka.

Meski memulai usaha sejak lama, Pak Soemarsono baru

bermitra dengan Jasa Marga selama empat tahun. Selama

kurun waktu itu Batik Dewi Arum mengalami perkembangan

yang luar biasa pesatnya sehingga seluruh pinjamannya

dapat dilunasi sebelum jatuh tempo.

Dalam menjalankan kegiatan produksinya, Pak Soemarsono

terhitung pengusaha yang mau peduli terhadap masalah

pengangguran di desanya. Karyawan tetapnya berjumlah 25

orang, sementara sekitar 150 orang lainnya karyawan lepas

yang bekerja dengan pola kemitraan “sanggan”. Dalam pola

kemitraan ini, orang boleh mengambil bahan kain dari Dewi

Arum untuk dikerjakan di rumah sesuai dengan kemampuan

membatik masing-masing. Ada yang mampu membuat motif,

sebagian memberi warna tertentu, dan lainnya mungkin

Batik Business in Sragen

Batik Dewi Arum is a batik garment brand that is developed

and produced by Mr. & Mrs. Soemarsono in the middle of

a village called Kliwonan, Sragen, in Central Java. Although

it is a brand that is not yet known nationwide, many of its

products are bought and marketed under brands that are

well known in Jakarta and Solo. The batik motifs sold are

manifold. There are Solo, Sragen, as well as modern motifs.

Some of the buyers come from as far away as Malaysia,

Brunei and India. Companies and many other institutions

also place large orders for Dewi Arum batiks to be made into

employee uniforms.

Although Mr. Soemarsono started the business a long time

ago, the partnership with Jasa Jasa Marga began only four

years ago. Since then Batik Dewi Arum has experienced

rapid growth that enabled it to repay the loan before

maturity.

In running the business, Pak Soemarsono is the type of who

cares about unemployment in his village. His permanent

employees total 25 people, while about 150 others are

employed as associate workers who work in a partnership

called “sanggan”. In this partnership, the person can take

the materials from Dewi Arum home to be worked at in

accordance with their ability in designing batik motifs. Some

are able to create a complex motif, some just to color them,

and others may only be able to make dots, and so on. As a

result, people can earn a living from Rp25 thousand per day

without the hindrance of space, time, ability and even age.

“Even grandmothers do not have to be unemployed because

of their age,” said Bu Soemarsono. In general, the “sanggan”

workers can work on their batik assignments in between

their daily activities.

During the holy Lebaran, the “sanggan” employees will also

be given their Hari Raya Benefits. With the number of people

engaged in their business, one can imagine how busy the

couple would be when Lebaran approaches. “Three months

before Lebaran, we must set aside some of our income for

their benefits,” she added.

In terms of production and distribution, batik Dewi Arum did

not experience difficulties. The problems faced are usually

cash flows, whereby payment from new buyers could come

as late as three months after. In the meantime, the business

must settle payment to its suppliers of raw materials and

equipment at the most two weeks after receiving the goods.

This problem is often quite worrysome, although the couple

have always managed to settle payments without having had

to resort to shark loaners by pledging away their receivables.

Pak Soemarsono admits that since receiving assistance from

Jasa Marga, he has more flexibility to expand his business.

Thus he hopes to continue partnering with Jasa Marga so

his business can grow larger. “If our business get bigger,

unemployment in our village can become smaller,” he says.

Electric Guitar Business in Mojokerto

It can be said that the business undertaken by Pak Falaq is

based on guts. After working for about a year in an electric

guitar manufacturing company, he resolved his will to resign

from his job and began his own guitar manufacturing

business. He basically started from zero, from A to Z; from

designing, searching for raw materials, cutting the materials

to stringing up the electric components. The same goes for

his sales activities which included all types of marketing style

from as door-to-door selling to participating in trade fairs

and exhibitions. His love for his craft overshadows the tough

business that he is in.

Tunjangan Hari Raya (THR). Dengan jumlah karyawan sebanyak

itu, bisa dibayangkan betapa sibuknya pasangan suami isteri

tersebut saat pembagian THR tiba. “Tiga bulan sebelum

Lebaran, kami sudah harus menyisihkan sebagian pendapatan

kami untuk THR mereka,” sambung Bu Soemarsono.

Dalam hal produksi dan distribusi, batik Dewi Arum tidak

mengalami kesulitan yang berarti. Problem yang dihadapi

biasanya menyangkut masalah cash flow/arus kas, di mana

pembayaran dari pembeli baru ia terima paling cepat tiga

bulan setelah transaksi, sementara itu ia harus melunasi

pembayaran kepada para pemasok bahan baku dan alat

paling lambat dua minggu setelah barang diambil. Problem

ini memang sering mengganggu, namun syukurlah pasangan

suami isteri tersebut selalu sanggup mengatasinya dan tidak

tergoda untuk menggadaikan tagihannya kepada rentenir.

Pak Soemarsono mengakui bahwa sejak menerima bantuan

dari Jasa Marga, dia lebih leluasa untuk membesarkan

usahanya. Oleh karenanya ia berharap dapat terus bermitra

dengan Jasa Marga agar usahanya berkembang semakin

besar. “Jikalau kami semakin besar, angka pengangguran di

dusun kami semakin kecil,” tuturnya.

Usaha Gitar Listrik di Mojokerto

Boleh dibilang usaha yang dilakukan oleh Pak Falaq ini

benar-benar bermodalkan nekat. Setelah bekerja selama

kurang lebih setahun di salah satu pabrik gitar elektrik,

ia meneguhkan diri untuk berhenti bekerja dan memulai

usaha membuat gitar elektrik sendiri. Ia mengawali usaha

mulai dari nol, dari A hingga Z. Mulai dari mendesain,

mencari bahan baku, memotong bahan, hingga merangkai

komponen elektroniknya. Begitu pula dalam kegiatan

penjualannya, hampir segala jenis pemasaran, baik secara

gerilya maupun ikut pameran ia lakukan. Berat memang,

tetapi ia sudah terlanjur mencintai pekerjaannya.

Pria lulusan SMA ini memang penggemar berat gitar. Salah

satu cita-citanya adalah memiliki gitar kenamaan sekelas

Fender atau Ibanez, namun tidak pernah terpikir olehnya

bahwa suatu saat nanti dia akan menjadi salah seorang ahli

membuat gitar elektrik. Saat memulai usahanya di tahun

1998, problem pertama yang dihadapi adalah mencari

bahan baku yang sesuai dengan spesifikasi. Bahan baku bisa

berasal dari bermacam-macam jenis kayu, antara lain kayu

nangka, mahoni, atau kayu sonokeling yang lebih bagus dari

kayu jati.

Jenis kayu yang dipakai jelas dapat mempengaruhi harga jual

gitar yang ia beri merek Pro-Wish. Untuk menyiasatinya, ia

mempergunakan kayu dari limbah pabrik pengolahan kayu.

“Pro-Wish itu bisa juga berarti protol ya wis (jika rontok, apa

boleh buat),” kelakarnya. Walaupun demikian, kualitas gitar

tetap dijaga terutama saat proses finishingnya. “Siapa pun

takkan menyangka gitar ini terbuat dari kayu limbah pabrik

pengolahan kayu,” sambungnya sambil menyodorkan salah

satu gitar listrik yang sangat halus pengerjaannya, sama

sekali tak tampak adanya bekas sambungan. Gitar itu dijual

dengan harga hanya Rp750 ribu, termasuk yang jenisnya

akustik. Tak heran gitar ini sering dipesan untuk diberi label

merek-merek terkenal.

Harganya yang bersaing masih menjadi andalannya dalam

memasarkan produk. Setiap pameran, gitar elektriknya selalu

habis terjual sebelum pameran usai. Hingga ia kewalahan

memenuhi permintaan pengunjung pameran yang kecewa

karena tak sempat melihat produknya dan harus menunggu

sekian lama hingga gitar yang baru selesai diproduksi.

Kejadian ini terus berulang sampai dia berkesempatan

or an Ibanez but it never crossed his mind that one day he

would be an expert in making electric guitars. When he first

started his business in 1998, the first problem he faced was

The types of wood used can clearly affect the selling price

of his guitar, named Pro-Wish. To prove this, he uses wood

waste from wood processing factories. Pro-Wish in Javanese

colloquial terms can be spun into ‘protol ya wis’ , literally

meaning ‘if it disintegrates, what can I say..?’ he jokes.

Nevertheless, the quality of the guitars is evident, especially

in the finishing process. “Who would have thought that this

guitar is made from wood waste?” he boasts of his electric

guitar, pointing to its smooth surface and lines, with no signs

of joints at all. The price of the guitar is only Rp750,000,

including the acoustic type. So, it is not a surprise that his

guitars are ordered and made under the labels of more

famous guitar brands.

The affordable price of his guitars is the key to marketing

the products. At each exhibition, the electric guitars are

always sold out long before the exhibition ends. He would

then be besieged by disappointed visitors who missed out on

his guitars and will have to wait for quite some time for the

production of new batches. This experience continued to

haunt him until he had the opportunity to submit a proposal

mengajukan proposal ke Jasa Marga. Pinjaman awal sebesar

Rp5 juta di tahun 2004 benar-benar terasa manfaatnya.

Walau jumlahnya tidak besar, namun sudah cukup untuk

menstok bahan baku, menyicil mesin penekuk kayu bekas

yang masih handal serta menggaji karyawan.

Karyawan yang dipekerjakannya kebanyakan adalah teman-

temannya sendiri. Namun bukan berarti hal itu mudah,

sebab, walaupun mereka senang bermain gitar, belum

tentu mereka memiliki passion dalam membuat gitar. Ia

mengibaratkannya seperti pekerjaan seorang seniman yang

membutuhkan feeling, tidak seperti pekerja pabrik yang

sekedar bekerja karena rutinitas.

Kini lima tahun sudah Pak Falaq bermitra dengan Jasa

Marga. Produknya sudah merambah ke Solo, Jogja, Bali,

Batam, Sulawesi, bahkan ada yang ke Dubai. Dengan lima

orang karyawan produksi serta memiliki mesin penekuk kayu

yang lebih presisi, kapasitas produksinya dapat ditingkatkan

hingga mampu mengimbangi penjualan rata-rata per

bulannya yang mencapai 20 buah gitar elektrik. Kegiatan

pemasarannya pun lebih bervariatif. Selain mengikuti

pameran, Pro-wish selalu hadir di dalam setiap ajang festival

band. Pemasukannya kini tak lagi hanya dalam penjualan

gitar, tetapi juga menerima servis gitar merek apapun.

Walaupun sudah mengalami kemajuan namun diakui oleh

Pak Falaq jalan masih panjang dan berliku. Hingga saat

ini, ia masih mencari distributor yang mampu menjamin

kontinuitas penjualan produk yang telah menjadi ikon

produk unggulan Mojokerto ini. Pak Falaq optimis, jika dia

terus diberi bantuan lagi dari Jasa Marga, usahanya bakal

berkembang lebih pesat lagi.

Rambak dari Mojokerto

Usaha pembuatan rambak atau krupuk kulit di Mojokerto

merupakan usaha rakyat yang tak pernah lekang oleh

waktu. Selama masih banyak orang yang gemar makan

kerupuk, sejumlah 40-an pengusaha rambak di Mojokerto

akan terus bertahan. Namun, proses produksinya tidak

semudah memakannya. Perlu tahapan-tahapan yang

of guitars, but also from servicing guitars of all makes.

Despite this progress, Pak Falaq admits that the road is

still long and winding. To date, he is still looking for a

distributor who is able to ensure the continuity of the sales

of his guitars that have become a leading product icon of

Mojokerto’s. In any case, Pak Falaq is optimistic, that if his

business continues to receive further support from Jasa

Marga, he will be able to grow his business faster.

Rambak crackers from Mojokerto

The business of making rambak or cow hide crackers in

Mojokerto is a business for the community unsurpassed

by time. As long as there are many people who love to eat

crackers, around 40 businesses for rambak in Mojokerto will

continue to survive. However, the production process is not

as easy as consuming it. There are many stages that are long

pekerjaan sehari-hari yang tak asing lagi baginya sejak kecil.

Karena usaha ini merupakan kelanjutan usaha yang telah

dirintis oleh orang tuanya. Tetapi, biarpun faham dengan

proses produksinya, bukan berarti ia dapat dengan mudah

mengajarkan ke orang lain, terutama saat ia mulai menjalankan

usahanya secara penuh di tahun 1998. Perlu ketekunan dan

kesabaran dalam mengajari proses pembuatan rambak kepada

karyawan barunya. Pada umumnya karyawan yang direkrut

berasal lingkungan kerabatnya, selebihnya dari penduduk

sekitar.

Mula-mula, bahan baku yang berasal dari kulit sapi bagian

dalam itu direndam dengan air kapur selama beberapa hari agar

mudah matang saat dimasak. Usai direndam, kulit dijemur agar

mengering. Setelah itu direbus untuk kemudian dikeringkan

kembali sebelum dipotongi. Usai dipotongi, kulit itu dijemur

kembali hingga benar-benar kering lalu digoreng. Proses yang

paling lama adalah penjemuran yang bisa memakan waktu

berhari-hari, karena rambak harus benar-benar kering sebelum

digoreng. Jika waktu penjemuran kurang lama, ataupun matahari

kurang terik sinarnya, krupuk menjadi tak bisa mengembang.

karyawan. Bahan baku kulit berasal dari Madura, Malang

dan Sidoarjo. Umumnya selembar kulit dapat menghasilkan

6 kg rambak. Berkat bantuan Jasa Marga, kapasitas produksi

meningkat tajam sehingga dapat mengirim rambak sampai

ke Gresik. Melangkah ke depan, Rambak Karunia berencana

mengikuti berbagai pameran untuk meluaskan pasar serta

memasarkan merek Karunia secara lebih agresif..

Tas Kulit Buatan Mojokerto

Salah satu mitra binaan Jasa Marga yang juga

mengembangkan kemitraan dengan karyawannya adalah

Bapak Chatam Rois, pemilik UD Vista yang memproduksi

aneka macam tas kulit di Mojokerto. Selain memiliki

karyawan tetap yang sehari-hari bekerja di lokasi usahanya,

dia memberi kesempatan kepada siapa pun menjadi

karyawan lepas yang boleh membawa pulang bahan

bakunya untuk dikerjakan di rumah. Selang beberapa hari

bahan baku tersebut sudah menjadi tas, dan yang siap

dipasarkan oleh UD Vista. Dia berani menjamin kualitasnya

sama baiknya dengan tas dikerjakan oleh karyawan tetap.

UD Vista mengawali usaha di tahun 1978 dengan kapasitas

produksi maksimal sebanyak tiga lusin tas kulit per hari.

Kini UD Vista sudah yang ke-empat kalinya berturut-turut

menerima bantuan pinjaman dari Jasa Marga, termasuk

bantuan pelatihannya. Dengan mesinnya berjumlah 15 buah

dan karyawan tetapnya berjumlah dua puluh, sementara

pelanggannya sudah sedemikian banyaknya hingga

menjangkau luar pulau. Pada umumnya produk dibuat

berdasarkan pesanan. Pelanggan tinggal membawa contoh

produk yang diinginkan, UD Vista membuat mal/polanya, lalu

tas segera diproduksi sesuai contoh dengan jumlah pesanan

minimal sebanyak lima lusin tas. Kebanyakan pelanggan adalah

pemilik toko atau pengecer tas tangan itu sendiri, sehingga

menjadikan UD Vista sebagai produsen dan sekaligus penjual

partai besar tas kulit.

Walau berproduksi berdasarkan pesanan, bukan berarti UD

Vista tak mau membuat sendiri. Tak jarang karyawannya

berinisiatif memproduksi tas dengan model terkini, lalu

He can guarantee that the quality of these bags is as good

as those made by his permanent employees.

UD Vista started the business in 1978 with a capacity

production of a maximum of 3 dozen per day. UD Vista has

already received loan assistance from Jasa Marga four times

consecutively, including training assistance. The business

now operates 15 machines and employs 20 permanent

workers, whilst the number of customers has increased even

reaching outside the island. In general, products are custom-

made according to orders. Customers bring an example of

the desired product, UD Vista makes the pattern, and the

bags are then produced to specifications with a minimum

order of five dozen bags. Most customers are shop owners

or resellers of hand bags themselves, making UD Vista

somewhat of a producer and wholesaler of leather bags at

the same time.

Even though production is based on orders, it does not

mean that UD Vista does not want to create their own

design. Their employees are quite creative and intuitive to

menawarkannya ke pelanggan. Setelah melihat sampel itu,

pada umumnya pelanggan lalu minta dibuatkan lagi.

Di sini karyawan lepas memegang peranan yang tidak kecil,

antara lain dalam menangani kelebihan pesanan. Harga

produk berkisar antara Rp200 ribu hingga Rp500 ribu.

Sementara produk yang paling diminati yang harganya

berkisar Rp400.000.

Untuk rencana ke depan, Pak Chatam Rois tidak merincinya

secara detail, namun yang jelas ingin mengembangkan

kapasitas produksi dan jangkauan produknya. Dia berharap

akan memperoleh pinjaman ulang dengan jumlah yang

signifikan agar perkembangan usaha berkembang lebih pesat.

“Kami ingin menjangkau pelanggan dari luar Jawa seperti

Sumatera, Kalimantan dan Sulawesi,” ujarnya.

Usaha pembuatan brondong Pak Eman Sulaiman

merupakan usaha rakyat yang sederhana. Namun karena

ditekuni dengan sungguh-sungguh, dapat dikembangkan

menjadi suatu usaha yang juga bermanfaat bagi masyarakat

sekitar.

Pada awalnya hanya kesukaan membuat brondong belaka,

tanpa ada angan-angan untuk membisniskannya. Dorongan

untuk mengembankannya sebagai usaha semakin kuat

tatkala banyak orang memuji rasa brondong buatannya.

Mulailah ia menekuni bagaimana membuat brondong dalam

jumlah banyak, namun tetap enak dan dengan biaya yang

seefisien mungkin. Tidak mudah memang, namun dengan

semangat yang tinggi, didukung dengan restu keluarganya,

Pak Eman mudah mengatasi kendala awal tersebut.

Mula-mula ia membuat dalam jumlah terbatas, dengan

bantuan orang-orang di rumahnya. Ia memasok

brondongnya yang bermerek Semoga Sukses ke toko-toko

di sekitar lingkungan tempat tinggalnya Awalnya, produknya

tidak dipandang sebelah mata oleh pemilik toko, tetapi

karena brondongnya disukai orang, pasokannya cepat habis

sehingga kini giliran para pemilik toko yang mengejar-

ngejarnya.

Sweet Pop-Rice from Garut

The business of Pak Eman Sulaiman in making sweet

pop-rice is a simple communal business. However, when

carried out in earnest, it can grow to become a business

undertaking the benefits the surrounding community.

Initially, he only made the sweet pop-rice for the simple

pleasure of it, with no intention of making it into a business.

But he was greatly encouraged when people praised his

sweet pop rice after tasting them. He started learning how

to make them in large amounts, but not foregoing the taste

and being as cost efficient as possible. It was not easy, but

with high spirits, supported by his entire family, Pak Eman

was able to overcome these initial obstacles.

Initially he made a limited amount, with the help of those

the brand Semoga Sukses, which roughly means “hope for

success.” Initially, the products were not highly thought of by

the store owners, but because many people liked the sweet

pop rice, the supplies ran out very quickly. Now, it is the turn

of the store owners to seek Pak Eman out.

Not long thereafter, he felt it was time to expand the scale

of his business. For that he needed a loan to pay the salaries

of employees for production as well as to increase the supply

of raw materials.

Fortunately he received information on the Partnership

Program of Jasa Marga. Immediately after his proposal was

approved, the first assistance of Rp5 million was used to

purchase raw materials and equipment. Employees who

were initially recruited were his own relatives, and later other

people from around his neighbourhood. As time goes by, his

production continued to increase, enabling him to supply

to stores outside of his village and regency. Many of his

customers are stores and retailers in Bandung and Jakarta.

Up to now, the demand from his customers and store

owners are still higher than the production capability. The

idea of further expansion did pass his mind, but he tends

to tread carefully. In his current condition, Pak Eman is very

grateful of the support that he receives from Jasa Marga, as

well as of his own ability to support and help other people.

Tidak lama setelah itu, ia merasa sudah saatnya memperluas

skala usahanya. Untuk itu ia membutuhkan pinjaman modal

untuk menggaji tenaga-tenaga baru di bidang produksi dan

untuk menambah pasokan bahan baku.

Beruntung ia memperoleh informasi mengenai Program

Kemitraan Jasa Marga. Segera setelah proposalnya disetujui,

bantuan pertama sejumlah Rp5 juta langsung ia pergunakan

untuk membeli bahan baku dan alat. Karyawan yang

direkrutnya mula-mula adalah saudara sendiri, belakangan

baru ia mampu merekrut tetangga di sekeliling rumahnya.

Makin lama kapasitas produksinya makin meningkat hingga

ia dapat memasok toko-toko yang lebih jauh hingga keluar

dari wilayah desa dan kabupatennya. Para pelanggannya

pun kini adalah toko-toko dan pengecer di Bandung dan

Jakarta.

Hingga kini, permintaan dari para pemilik toko dan

pelanggannya masih lebih tinggi daripada kemampuan

produksinya. Terbersit angan-angan untuk memperbesar

usahanya lagi, akan tetapi dia cenderung berhati-hati

agar tidak salah melangkah. Dalam kondisi seperti ini

pun ia sangat mensyukuri dukungan yang diperoleh dari

Jasa Marga, maupun juga akan kemampuannya sendiri

mendukung dan membantu orang lain.

Produk Kulit Berkualitas dari Garut

Pengrajin kulit yang bermukim di Jawa Barat tak terhitung

jumlahnya, tetapi yang mampu mengekspor produknya hingga ke

mancanegara terbatas jumlahnya. Salah satunya adalah Pak Zacky

Sirodj di Garut. Memulai usahanya sekitar dua puluh tahunan

yang lalu, bakatnya dalam mendesain aneka produk kulit seperti

tas, jaket dan aksesoris tidak diragukan lagi. Kemampuan lain

yang sulit ditandingi oleh pengrajin lain adalah kemampuannya

membuat produk-produk kulitnya dengan perhatian terhadap

detil-detil desain yang luar biasa.

Lama kelamaan orang tidak hanya memesan satu atau dua buah,

tetapi dalam jumlah banyak, untuk kemudian diberi label merek

luar negeri. Bagi Pak Zacky, pesanan ini jelas sangat menantang.

Bagaimana menghasilkan produk yang sesuai dengan standar

dan presisi tinggi dalam jumlah yang massal. Untuk itu ia

membutuhkan tambahan permodalan dan tenaga kerja yang

tidak sedikit. Tawaran bantuan dari Jasa Marga langsung

disambut.

Kini pembelinya bukan hanya dari dalam negeri saja

melainkan langsung dari luar negeri yang ia temui sewaktu

mengikuti pameran internasional dengan bantuan Jasa

Marga. Usahanya pun terus berkembang Hingga kini

usahanya terus berkembang dimana Apkuga dapat memetik

manfaat dari reputasinya sebagai produsen hasil kerajinan

kulit yang bermutu tinggi.

Quality Leather Goods from Garut

There are countless numbers of leather craftsmen in West

Java but only a few who are capable of exporting their

products overseas. Mr. Zacky Sirodj of Apkuga in Garut is

one of them. Since starting the business about twenty years

ago, his talent in designing leather goods including bags,

jackets and accessories was never in doubt. Another talent

that was difficult for others to imitate was his extraordinary

attention to detail over his craftsmanship.

As time flies, customers not only order one or two items,

but wholesale, including customers who place their order

on behalf of well-know international labels and brands. For

Mr. Zacky, these orders were clearly challenging, which was

how to produce products that comply with international

standards and precision in bulk numbers. This would require

Today, his customers are not only local buyers but those

who came from abroad whom he met during international

Bu Dedeh merintis dan mengembangkan usahanya bersama-

sama almarhum suaminya. Dengan menyandang merek

Dodol Aroma, PD Aroma dari awal tidak ingin membuat

dodol yang memiliki rasa dan bentuk seperti kebanyakan

dodol lainnya. Maka diciptakanlah dodol dengan berbagai

cita-rasa unik yang lambat laun semakin dikenal dan

digemari oleh pelanggan.

Bermacam-macam pengembangan bentuk dan rasa diciptakan

oleh Dodol Aroma, yang karena bentuknya yang bervariasi dan

rasanya yang unik, dapat diterima oleh toko-toko di kota Garut,

Dodol Garut has long been famous throughout the country.

However, from the numerous dodol producers in Garut,

there is one that has unique forms and tastes and packaging

too, namely the Dodol Garut of Bu Hj Dedeh Sopiah.

Bu Dedeh began and developed the business with her late

husband. By attaching the brand name of Dodol Aroma,

PD Aroma from the very beginning did not want to make its

dodol looking and tasting like any other dodol in the market.

Hence, they developed a brand of dodol that is unique in its

variety of taste that gradually became increasingly known

and sought after by consumers.

A whole range of shapes and tastes were created by Dodol

Aroma, which because of the uniqueness of their shapes and

tastes, were accepted in stores throughput Garut, among

the countless other dodol brands that are produced in Garut

as the largest dodol industry center in the country.

With the support of the Partnership Program of Jasa Marga,

PD Aroma was able to gradually penetrate the national

market, bringing Dodol Aroma to Jakarta, Bandung and in

an increasing number of major cities.

Jasa Marga juga melakukan kegiatan penyaluran bantuan

yang sifatnya amal demi peningkatan taraf hidup masyarakat

lingkungan. Secara garis besar bantuan tersebut terbagi atas

bantuan untuk pelestarian lingkungan serta peningkatan

kesejahteraan komunitas, khususnya dalam hal pendidikan,

layanan kesehatan, keagamaan serta prasarana umum.

Di bidang lingkungan, kepedulian Jasa Marga telah

ditunjukkan sejak sebelum dimulainya pembangunan

proyek jalan tol. Disadari sepenuhnya, pembangunan dan

pengembangan jalan tol membawa perubahan dari sisi

lingkungan, baik lingkungan alam maupun lingkungan

sosial kemasyarakatannya. Kesadaran tersebut mendorong

Jasa Marga melakukan berbagai upaya untuk memulihkan

kelestarian alam sekitar serta tata kehidupan sosial komunitas

yang terkena dampak pembangunan jalan tol.

Program Pelestarian Lingkungan dan Penanaman Pohon

Di mana pun Jasa Marga berencana membangun jalan tol,

studi kelayakan selalu dilakukan secara seksama dengan

berpegang pada AMDAL (analisis mengenai dampak

lingkungan), dengan melibatkan instansi terkait yang kredibel,

Jasa Marga also undertakes social activities that are philantrophic

in nature with the aim of improving the quality of life in

surrounding communities. On a broad scale the social activities

are divided intro aids for the conservation of environment and

the enhancement of community welfare, especially in terms of

education, healthcare, religious affairs and public facilities.

On the environmental aspect, Jasa Marga’s care and concern

begin long before the start of a toll road development

project. The Company is fully aware of the potential

impact that the development of toll roads may have on the

environment as well as the well-being of the communities in

the surrounding areas. This awareness induces Jasa Marga

to act responsibly and endeavors to restore or as much

as possible preserve the natural order social lives of those

communities affected by toll road developments.

Environmental Conservation and Tree Planting Program

Wherever Jasa Marga plans to build toll roads, a thorough

environmental impact analyses (Amdal) is carried, with the

involvement of credible institutions that are related such as

the Provincial Governments, the Office of the Ministry of the

baik dari unsur Pemerintah Propinsi, Dinas Kementrian

Lingkungan Hidup, maupun Departemen Pekerjaan Umum.

Dari tahapan perancangan, desain jalan tol diupayakan sedapat

mungkin tidak merubah tata sosial masyarakat yang dilaluinya,

dengan membangun under pass, jembatan-jembatan

penyeberangan orang dan kendaraan untuk menghubungkan

dua wilayah yang terputus. Jalan tol diupayakan tidak

memotong kawasan yang berpotensi menimbulkan risiko

lingkungan maupun sosial seperti hutan lindung, situs

bersejarah maupun kawasan yang dianggap keramat.

Dari aspek keasrian lingkungan, Jasa Marga melakukan

kegiatan penghutanan yang berkelanjutan di seluruh ruas

jalan tol. Ini merupakan contoh nyata komitmen Jasa Marga

dalam mengurangi dampak polusi serta kepedulian terhadap

masalah pemanasan global. Program penghutanan jalan tol

ini pun merupakan dukungan terhadap program pemerintah

yang menggalakkan penanaman pohon bertajuk “satu orang

menanam satu pohon.”

Di tahun 2008, Jasa Marga telah melakukan berbagai

penanaman pohon yang di antaranya dilakukan di Jalan Tol

Cipularang, dan dilaksanakan bersama dengan Departemen

Perhubungan pada tanggal 23 Pebruari. Selang 4 bulan

kemudian, bekerja sama dengan Alumni ITB, Jasa Marga

mengadakan penanaman di jalan yang sama KM 92+600A

pada tanggal 8 Juni 2008. Selanjutnya, penanaman dilakukan

dalam rangka Hari Ulang Tahun (HUT) Polri tanggal 18 Juni

di Jalan Tol Cikampek KM 66A dan pada Simpang Susun

Buah Batu di Jalan Tol Purbaleunyi. Dalam rangka Hari Bakti

PU, penanaman kembali dilakukan pada tanggal 1 Desember

2008 di Kantor Pusat Jasa Marga. Sementara penanaman

pohon secara serentak di seluruh Kantor Cabang Jasa Marga

dilakukan pada tanggal 15 Desember 2008. Penanaman

untuk tahun 2008 ditutup dengan penanaman tanggal

18 Desember 2008 di Jalan Tol Cipularang KM 104 A,

yang diikuti oleh gabungan 20 BUMN di mana Jasa Marga

bertindak sebagai koordinator penyelenggara.

Penyaluran Bantuan Lingkungan

Untuk program bantuan yang menyangkut perbaikan taraf

hidup sosial, mekanisme penyalurannya berlangsung lewat

dua cara. Pertama yang dilakukan secara aktif, di mana

petugas Jasa Marga secara aktif terjun langsung guna

menginventarisir kondisi sosial masyarakat pada seputar

radius 10 km dari jalan tol. Cara kedua adalah melalui

proposal yang diajukan masyarakat kepada Jasa Marga.

Environment, and the Department of Public Works.

From its planning stage, the design of the toll roads is aimed at

minimizing the disruption that it may cause towards the social

well-being of the communities that are passed by toll roads, by

building underpass crossings for vehicles or pedestrian bridges

as connecting access between areas that have cut off. Efforts

are made to ensure that toll roads do not cut across areas

that will potentially cause either social harm to communities

environmental risks to natural parks, historic sites or sacred

grounds.

From the picturesque aspect of the environment, Jasa Marga

carries out reforestry on a continuous basis alongside its

toll roads and in other places. This is an example of the true

commitment of Jasa Marga to reduce the impact of pollution

and awareness towards global warming issues. The greening

of Jasa Marga toll roads also supports the government tree

planting program called the “one man one tree planting”

In 2008, Jasa Marga conducted a variety of tree planting

programs, together with the Minister of Transportation on

23 February at the Cipularang Toll Road. Four months later,

with the Alumni of ITB, Jasa Marga arranged tree plantings

at KM 92 +600 A of the same toll road on 8 June 2008.

This was followed by tree plantings on the Anniversary of

the Indonesian Police on 18 June at the Cikampek Toll Road

at KM 66A and at the Simpang Susun Buah Batu of the

Purbaleunyi Toll Road. In commemorating the event of Hari

Bakti PU, re-planting was done on 1 December 2008 at the

Jasa Marga Headquarters. Furthermore, tree plantings were

simultaneously conducted in all of the branches of Jasa

Marga on 15 December 2008. The tree planting programs

for the year 2008 ended when Jasa Marga, acting as the

coordinator, organized a collective tree planting program

among 20 State Owned Enterprises at KM 104 A of the

Cipularang Toll Road on 18 December 2008.

Community Aid Distribution

In distributing community aids to improve the social living

standard, the mechanism of distribution can be undertaken

in two ways. The first, which is actively performed, is where

officers of Jasa Marga go directly to record social conditions in

the communities within a radius of 10 km from the toll roads.

The second alternative is through proposals submitted by the

community to Jasa Marga.

Bantuan Pendidikan

Program pendidikan dilaksanakan dengan meningkatkan

kualitas sarana pendidikan dan perluasan kesempatan

memperoleh pendidikan. Di samping diberi bantuan

beasiswa, sekolah di berbagai daerah telah memperoleh

bantuan perbaikan gedung maupun perpustakaan dari Jasa

Marga. Tidak sedikit pula Jasa Marga mengadakan pelatihan

khusus guna membina mental dan spiritual anak sekolah

seperti pembinaan kecerdasan emosional berbasis agama

melalui pelatihan ESQ untuk siswa SMA di Jakarta Timur

pada tanggal 16 Pebruari 2008.

Sepanjang tahun 2008, Jasa Marga telah memberikan bantuan

sejumlah Rp1,122 milyar, yang antara lain digunakan untuk

merenovasi gedung sekolah yang tertera pada tulisan berikut ini.

Perbaikan Sarana Fisik Sekolah SD di Deli Serdang, Sumatera Utara.

Salah satu sekolah yang telah menerima bantuan dari Jasa

Marga adalah SDN 106180 di desa Tanjung Baru

Kecamatan Tanjung Morawa Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Tiga

ruangan kelasnya telah mengalami perbaikan total, yang

menyangkut perbaikan dinding, atap, langit-langit, cat maupun

lantai yang kini menjadi lantai keramik. Sejumlah 60 set meja

dan kursi belajar siswa, 8 set meja guru pun telah diganti

dengan yang baru. Dindingnya yang berwarna biru dan putih,

warna khas Deli Serdang, sangat terlihat menyala, menandakan

belum lama dicat. Toilet dan kamar mandi menjadi lebih bagus

dan layak dikunjungi oleh pejabat sekalipun. Halaman sudah

dipasangi con block yang baru. Pagar dan pintu sekolah pun

telah diganti baru. Untuk renovasi gedung SDN 106180 ini dana

yang dikucurkan Jasa Marga adalah sebesar Rp.194.516.300.

Sebagai Kepala Sekolah, Ibu Fitriani sangat bangga akan

kondisi sekolah saat ini. Upaya beliau mengajukan proposal

perbaikan gedung kepada Jasa Marga tidak sia-sia. Kini

semangat belajar murid-murid menjadi bertambah,

sejalan dengan pertambahan ruang kelas untuk belajar.

“Dulu di gedung ini hanya mampu menampung dua

rombel (rombongan belajar), tetapi sekarang lima rombel

sekaligus,“ujarnya. Murid-murid pun sebagian tidak perlu lagi

masuk siang. Ibu Fitriani merasa berterima kasih kepada Jasa

Marga yang cepat tanggap dalam merespon proposalnya.

Selama ini beliau telah mengirimkan proposal ke berbagai

instansi namun hingga kini belum mendapat tanggapan yang

memadai.

Education Assistance

The education program is conducted with the means

to improve the quality of education and expanding the

opportunities in obtaining an education. In addition to

the assistance given for scholarships, many schools in the

region have received assistance for the improvement of their

buildings as well as libraries from Jasa Marga. Furthermore,

Jasa Marga created special trainings to stimulate the mental

and spiritual intelligences for school children such as religion

based emotional intelligence through ESQ training for high

school students in East Jakarta on 16 February 2008.

Throughout the year 2008, Jasa Marga provided assistance

totalling Rp1,122 billion, which, among others, were used for

renovations of school buildings listed below.

Physical Improvements of School Facilities in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra.

One school that has received assistance from Jasa Marga

is SDN 106,180 Desa Tanjung Baru, Kecamatan Tanjung

Morawa, Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Three class rooms have

undergone total repair, which involves repairing walls,

roofs, ceilings, floors and paint and also a new ceramic

floor. They were also provided with 6 new sets of desks

and chairs for students and 8 new sets of teacher’s tables.

The newly painted walls of blue and white, colors that are

typical of Deli Serdang is highly visible. Improved toilets and

bathrooms facilities make it more feasible to be visited even

by public officials. Even the school fences and gates are new.

The school premises have been provided with a new con-

block. Jasa Marga donated Rp.194.516.300 for all of these

renovations.

As the Principal, Mrs. Fitriani is very proud of the current

school condition. The efforts she made to put forth a

proposal to repair the school building to Jasa Marga was

not futile. Now enthusiasm for learning by the students

has increased, in line with the new additional classrooms.

“Previously the building was only able to accommodate two

study groups, but now it can be five at a time” said Mrs.

Fitriani. Some of the students no longer need to attend

classes in the afternoon. Mrs. Fitriani feels grateful to Jasa

Marga’s rapid response to her proposal. For quite some time,

Mrs. Fitriani has submitted proposals to various institutions,

but until now, there have been no adequate responses.

Sejalan dengan semangat menghadirkan teknologi untuk

membantu meningkatkan kinerja, selain bantuan perbaikan

fisik, Jasa Marga juga membantu mengadakan seperangkat

komputer dan printer untuk mendukung kebutuhan

administrasi dan informasi sekolah.

Memang tidak semua kebutuhan renovasi sekolah dipenuhi

oleh Jasa Marga.Namun paling tidak, melalui bantuan

ini, proses belajar- mengajar kini tidak lagi menghadapi

kendala. Upaya perbaikan sarana belajar dan mengajar ini

juga menarik perhatian Bupati Deli Serdang, yang memang

memberi perhatian lebih kepada dunia pendidikan. Di sela-

sela kesibukannya, beliau menyempatkan diri hadir guna

meresmikan hasil renovasi sekolah tersebut pada 20 Januari

2009. Berita acara serah terima sekolah tersebut dilakukan oleh

Ir. Ricky Distawardhana selaku Kepala Cabang Jalan Tol Belmera

yang didampingi oleh Pejabat Cabang Belmera lainnya,di

hadapan Bupati Deli Serdang, Drs, H. Amri Tambunan, unsur

Muspida, Kapolres Deli Serdang, dan Kepala Sekolah SDN

106180 Dra. Fitriani bersama para guru dan orang tua siswa.

SD Balas Klumprik

SD Balas Klumprik merupakan salah satu SD dengan segudang

prestasi. Apa pun bidang yang dilombakan, entah lukisan,

Marga also provided a set of computer and printer to support

the needs of the school’s administration and information

system.

Indeed, not all school renovation needs are fulfilled by Jasa

Marga but at the very least, through this assistance, the

teaching-learning process will no longer face obstacles.

Efforts to repair learning and teaching facilities also attract

the Regent of Deli Serdang, which has also been paying

much attention to education. In between his busy activities,

he was able to set aside time to attend the inauguration

of the newly renovated school on 20 January 2009. This

presentation was conducted by Ir. Ricky Distawardhana as

Head of the Belmera Toll Road Branch Office, accompanied

by other Belmera Branch Officers, before the Regent of Deli

Serdang, Drs, H. Amri Tambunan from Muspida, Kapolres

Deli Serdang, and the School Principal of SDN 106180, Dra.

Fitriani, along with the presence of the teachers and parents.

SD Balas Klumprik

SD Balas Klumprik is one of the primary schools with a

myriad of achievements. In any areas of competition such as

pramuka, drumband, Patroli Keamanan Sekolah dsb, minimal

menggondol juara untuk tingkat kotamadya. Sayang gedung

sarana belajarnya dalam kondisi yang kurang memadai.

Memang Jasa Marga sudah lama mendengar tentang prestasi

SD ini dan berencana memberi bantuan. Segera setelah

proposal disetujui, SD Balas Klumprik segera direnovasi total,

lengkap dengan meja-kursi serta peralatan belajar mengajar

lainnya. Gorong-gorong dibersihkan sehingga halaman

tidak pernah lagi tergenang air di kala hujan. Hasil renovasi

dengan bantuan dari Jasa Marga ini pun menjadikan SD ini

juara pertama dalam kategori sarana fisik gedung, satu lagi

prestasi dalam daftar prestasi yang panjang yang dimiliki SD

Balas Klumprik.

Bantuan Kesehatan

Di dalam bidang kesehatan, Jasa Marga secara aktif

melaksanakan penyuluhan kesehatan, pemberantasan sarang

nyamuk melalui fogging, perbaikan klinik, rumah sakit, donor

darah, sunatan massal, operasi bibir sumbing dan pengobatan

kesehatan gratis lainnya, seperti yang halnya pengobatan

gratis pada tanggal 1 Maret 2008. Pengobatan gratis bagi

masyarakat di seputar jalan tol ini dilaksanakan di seluruh

wilayah operasi Jasa Marga, dan dalam rangka Bhakti Sosial

berkenaan dengan HUT Jasa Marga ke-30. Jumlah bantuan

program peningkatan kesehatan yang terealisasi di tahun 2008

adalah sebesar Rp812.238.250.

Perbaikan Taraf Hidup Sosial Masyarakat

Perbaikan taraf hidup masyarakat dilakukan melalui

perbaikan atau pembangunan balai desa, jembatan,

gorong-gorong, jalan desa, sarana olah raga, sarana

ibadah, pelatihan kekaryaan bagi remaja putus sekolah dan

sebagainya. Salah satu contoh perbaikan sarana lingkungan

adalah pembuatan gorong-gorong di Jati Asih, Bekasi pada

tanggal 22 Pebruari. Selanjutnya tak terhitung lagi bantuan

kepada beberapa yayasan dan lembaga lainnya, untuk

pembangunan mesjid, sekolah, santunan kepada du’afa dan

lain-lain baik dalam bentuk sponsorship dan iklan maupun

sumbangan lainnya sejak Januari hingga Desember 2008.

facilities for studying are inadequate.

Jasa Marga has long heard of the achievements of this

elementary school and plans to provide assistance.

Immediately after the proposal was approved, SD Balas

Klumprik underwent total renovations, complete with

individual tables and chairs as well as other learning

equipment. The drainage systems were cleaned so that

the lawn will be free of stagnant water when it rains. With

these renovations, the school came in first in the school

building category, another achievement in the long list of

achievements by SD Balas Klumprik.

Health Assistance

In healthcare, Jasa Marga actively implements health

counselling, efforts to eliminate breeding of mosquitoes

through fogging, repair of clinics, hospitals, blood donors,

mass circumcision, harelip surgeries and other free health

treatments, such as free healthcare treatment on 1 March

2008. Free healthcare treatments for the communities

surrounding the Company’s toll roads were carried out in

all areas of operations of Jasa Marga, and on the occasion

Bhakti Sosial (Social Dedication) in celebration of the 30th

Anniversary of Jasa Marga. The amount of funds allocated to

public healthcare services in 2008 was Rp812,238,250.

Improvement to the Living Standards of Communities

Improvements to the living standards of the community is

done through the enhancement or development of the village

halls, bridges, drainage systems, village roads, sports facilities,

worship facilities, employment trainings of teenage drop

outs and so forth. One example of the improvement in the

environment is the production of drainage systems in Jati Asih,

Bekasi on 22 February. Moreover, the invaluable assistance to

several foundations and other institutions, for the development

of mosques, schools, monetary assistance to du’afa and others

both in the form of sponsorship and advertising as well as

other donations from January to December 2008.

The assistance of Jasa Marga also touched the religious aspects

that were conducted internally within Jasa Marga as well as

involving the broader community. This can be seen by the

implementation of special religious days and distribution of foods

for the breaking of fast during the Ramadhan fasting month.

Bantuan Jasa Marga Terhadap Korban Bencana Alam Building Solidarity Among The Communities Jasa Marga’s Assistance to Victims of Natural Disasters

Program CSR Jasa Marga memang memprioritaskan

masyarakat yang bermukim di seputaran jalan tol Jasa Marga.

Namun tak tertutup kemungkinannya Jasa Marga memberi

bantuan bagi mereka yang tinggalnya berjauhan dari jalan

tol, terutama yang daerahnya sedang dilanda bencana alam.

Peran penting Jasa Marga dalam memberikan kontribusi

langsung dalam peristiwa-peristiwa bencana di antaranya

adalah bencana banjir di Jakarta (tahun 2002), bakti sosial

bencana longsor di Desa Mandalasari, Kadu Ngora, Garut

(2003), bakti sosial bencana longsor sampah di Leuwi Gajah

Cimahi Bandung (2004), bakti sosial bencana longsor di

Banjarnegara serta penanganan pasca bencana tsunami

di Nangroe Aceh Darussalam (2005) penanganan pasca

bencana gempa bumi di Bantul Yogyakarta, bakti sosial di

lereng Gunung Merapi Jawa Tengah, penanganan pasca

bencana gempa bumi di Pangandaraan, penanganan banjir

besar di Jakarta (2007), penanganan bencana longsor di

Babakan Madang, Gunung Pancar, Bogor (2007) penanganan

pasca bencana gempa bumi di Bengkulu dan Sumatera Barat

(2007), tabrakan kereta api di Cirebon (2007) serta bencana

banjir di Jawa Tengah dan Jawa Timur (2008).

Dalam penanganan bantuan bencana alam, Jasa Marga

memberikan pelayanan medis, evakuasi, pendirian dapur

umum, merehabilitasi sarana dan prasarana umum dan

menyalurkan bantuan dalam bentuk uang, makanan,

pakaian, obat-obatan serta pengerahan relawan dan

peralatan operasional perusahaan ke daerah bencana.

Pelaksanaan bantuan korban bencana alam ini merupakan

kegiatan CSR yang dilandasi nilai-nilai pengabdian terhadap

kemanusiaan, dan di saat yang bersamaan merupakan

kegiatan untuk membangun citra perusahaan.

Jasa Marga’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program

priorities the community who live around Jasa Marga’s toll

roads. However, Jasa Marga will not rule out giving assistance

to those who live further away from these roads, especially

those areas experiencing natural disasters.

Jasa Marga’s important role in contributing aid directly to

the events of natural disasters includes floods in Jakarta

(2002), social work in the landslide disaster of the village

of Mandalasari, Kadu Ngora, Garut (2003), social work in

the landslide garbage disaster in Leuwi Elephant Cimahi

Bandung (2004), social work in the landslide disaster in

Banjarnegara and handling post-tsunami disaster in Nangroe

Aceh Darussalam (2005), post-disaster earthquake in Bantul,

Yogyakarta, social work in Iereng Mount Merapi in Central

Java, handling post-disaster earthquake in Pangandaraan,

handling major flooding in Jakarta (2007), handling landslide

disasters in Babakan Madang, Gunung Pancar Bogor (2007),

handling post-disaster earthquake in Bengkulu and West

Sumatra (2007), train collision in Cirebon (2007) and floods

in Central Java and East Java (2008).

In handling aids disasters mentioned above, Jasa Marga

provided medical services, evacuation, the set up of

emergency kitchens, rehabilitating public facilities and

infrastructure and provided assistance in the form of money,

food, clothing, medicine and the dispatch of volunteers and

the company’s operational equipment to disaster areas.

The implementation of assistance to victims of natural

disasters is one of the CSR activities based on the value of

the dedication to humanity, and at the same time reprenting

activities that build the company’s image.
