Sangkuriang, the legend from West Java.

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful woman named Dayang Sumbi. She lived

alone in a small house. She wanted to get marry with a man. But it was never came

true.

DS : I want to be a wife like a normal woman. I need love,

affection, attention. I want to have a cute baby. Well, I

swear to God, Ill marry a man that I saw first.

Suddenly, she met a male dog named Tumang

DS : what? A male dog. Oh God, can I pull my words again??

God : of course you cant

DS : as my promise. I will marry you, Tumang

So, she married a male dog and have a baby boy. She called him Sangkuriang.

Sangkuriang grew up strong and knew how to use bow and arrows to hunt. One

day, Dayang Sumbi wanted to eat some liver. She then ordered Sangkuriang to go

hunting for it. So he went with Tumang. Sangkuriang walked for hours and hours

but not a single deer was seen.

S : hey, I saw a deer there! Im gonna shoot him. Damn! He lost. Im so

tired and got nothing. Wait, I will give your liver to my mother. She

will like it. Im sorry.

He went home and brought Tumangs liver. Dayang Sumbi didnt know it and start

cooking.

DS : sangkuriang, come on lets eat.

S : sure, mom

DS : (start eating) wait where is Tumang?

S : I shot him, mother

DS : what?!

S : and this is his liver

DS : ungrateful child !!!! (slapping) Tumang was your father! You killed

your father! Get out of my house!!!!

He went from the house and travelled a lot of place. He didnt remember what

Dayang Sumbis face. Finally he saw a beautiful waterfall and took a rest. Suddenly,

he met a very beautiful woman.

S : hey, what are you doing here?

DS : who are you?

S : Im Sangkuriang. Well, Are you feeling pain now?

DS : no, why?

S : because you fell from the sky, my angle

DS : oh

S : ooh my god! I had a toothache!!

DS : whats happen??

S : because you are so sweet, lady

DS : why did you say like that? I dont like you

S : well, madam. Can you call an ambulance for me?

DS : are you sick again?

Sangkuriang fell in love with his mother, Dayang Sumbi. But he didnt know it. he

believed that Dayang Sumbi will be his wife soon.

DS : just leave me alone

DS : no ! you cannot

DS : because Im your mother, dear

S : no ! you are not my mother and I will marry you !!!

Dayang sumbi felt so afraid and at the same time, Sangkuriang started to build a

big boat for her. And he called his friend

S : hey, guys. I need your help

S : I have to make a big boat before tomorrow

S : stop laughing ! just come here

Sangkuriang and his ghost friend started to build. And Dayang Sumbi knew it, so

she went and met ghosts there. She has a plan to make the ghosts slept and didnt

do their job.

DS : assalamualaikum

G2 : waalaikumsalam.. what are you doing here?

DS : I just want to see this boat. How?

G1 : oh, Im tired. I have to take a rest now.

G4 : me too. Look at my nails. Ive got pedicure, and.. I dont want to talk

again

DS : here! I brought a lot of drinks for you. You have to take a rest first,

right? Enjoy this !

G3 : thank you so much! (drinking)

Dayang Sumbis plan worked. She went back and slept. In the morning

The lake he made has turned into todays Bandung, which is no

longer as beautiful as it used to be. But the ark still be seen today. Itis now known as the Tangkuban Perahu. Well, thats what peoplesay
