The NGSD is used globally on a daily basis, in indus-tries ranging from offshore and steel production to open cast mining and chemical production. This is testament to the product’s vast success.
The NGSD range of Square Drive torque wrenches
combine many essential elements with quality and performance features, to ensure that the product delivers repeatable results in both tightening and loosening threaded connectors, whenever necessary. The Square Drive range is designed to be used in
connection with any good quality Impact Sockets
The range is equipped with a 360 x 180 degree uni-swivel, to eliminate the possibility of hose kinking and
allow its application in even, highly confined areas.Used in conjunction with our variety of 10,000PSI pump units as well as our complete range of Impact
Sockets, our Square Drive series is considerably more effective than all other Square Drive Hydraulic Wrenches in circulation

The NGLC range, which has been designed to be
significanlty more user-friendly then similar product
available in the current marketplace. State of the
art technology is used in the manufacture of these
hydraulic tools and they are produced using a
premium quality steel. This results in unequalled
performance levels being provided when they are
needed most.
The NGLC Series Wrench was designed for the most
inaccessible bolting areas found in the industry. Its long
neck, short height and small radius have all added to
its great success. The tools are highly adaptable, and
changing the Low Profile Links takes seconds, thanks
to the simple design.
When used in conjunction with our full range of
10,000PSI Hydraulic Torque Pump Units, the Low
Profile series supersedes the performance of all other
Low Profile Hydraulic Wrenches available.

The standard series 10,000PSI Air and Electric
operated Torque Pumps are the most widely used
Pump Units worldwide. The Air-operating Pump has
a built in Oil Cooling system, which cools the oil.
This is combined with a high-flow Filter/Lubricator
which ensures a constant feed of dry, lubricated
air for continuous use. The Muffler that is supplied
with the unit minimises the level of noise produced
when it is in use.

The air operated Tensioner pump unit is designed and
constructed to be failsafe, user friendly, lightweight and
compact. They work on a simple but efficient principle,
magnified through differentialpiston areas. A large
piston drives a smaller hydraulic piston, which provides
flow at high pressure. The frames are stainless steel to
help against corrosion and are extremely easy to use,
even though the pumps are compact all the usable
components are located in easy to reach places, easy to
read gauge due to the large dial located on the side of
the pump.

The Spring Return design dramatically increasesproductivity and safety on the job site when compared toolder technology manual return tensioners.
All models excluding the 0 model have a stroke of 10 mmand cover ranges from 3/4”- 4”, the NGSR tensioners offer
both metric and imperial inserts. The anti- slip tool surfaceimproves operator grip as well as increasing safety. Thedual port design makes operation twice as fast as a singleport tensioner , as well as simplifying hose connection andeliminating tee-block

Powered Torque Multipliers
Powertorc powered multipliers give a combination of speed and power.
Manufactured from high grade engineering steels and latest technology motors, both electric and pneumatic.
The electric motors are complete with pre set cut off that allows the motor to run efficiently until the desired
torque is achieved at which point the motor will shut down, the motor will reset it self once the trigger is
released to allow pulsing.
Unlike many other manufacturers today, Powertorc have ensured that
the air motor fitted to their multipliers are designed to be stall type.
These motors are specifically designed for controlled torque
application and will stall safely once the required torque is reached.
The motors are mounted via a rotating coupling plate which
effectively kills of all inertia kicks making the tools safer to use
protecting the users wrists and because the drive is through a
multiplier gear box, there is no hammer action eliminating white
finger vibration.
Both electric and pneumatic options come with vertical and 90 degree
angle drives, heavy duty reaction fool and a wide range of nose cone
extensions, and made to measure reaction feet.
With a reliable maximum 3% full scale deflection and only 1%
difference of repeatability, Powertorc powered multipliers are fast
becoming the engineers choice

Pneumatic Multiplier
Constructed for high grade engineering steels and polymers The Powertorc range of air driven multipliers are lightweight, strong, fast and reliable.Torque control is achieved by setting the air pressure
at the regulator lubricator unit while the multiplier is running freely. Each air driven multiplier comes complete with a calibration certificate detailing the given torque at 5psi intervals making it easier for the operator to set up.Each multiplier comes with a standard reaction foot,
however if you require something more refined, talk to our engineers. customized reactions and nose cone extensions are available on request
Features
extremely powerful and produces up to 10,800NMcapable of operating at less than 6 baris bi-directional giving full forward and reverse
functionsis non-impacting therefore reduces user fatigueIt is relatively quiet and never exceeds 81dB (A)fitted with soft start trigger controls, allowing for easy socket
location and gradual reaction take uphas optional automatic 2-speed gear box reduces bolt run down time
The 90 degree angled drive multiplier is ideal for use in confined spaces, and is fitted with a carrying handle to ease placement of the tool when on the job,The motor is attached to the drive via rotating mounting plate and the 90 degree gear drive is also attached to the gearbox via rotating mounting plate allowing the user to position the tool to insure safe operationAs with the standard pneumatic multiplier, our angled drive models are constructed using high grade steels and polymers and come complete with calibration certificate.

The MaxboltTM Load Indicating Fastener System continuously measures and displays the amount of tension in a
bolt or stud.. The system offers a simple method for accurate joint assembly and is the only product available,
for most applications, which will continually monitor clamping force while the fastener is in service. This aids in
maintaining the integrity of the bolted joint.
The MaxboltTM is manufactued by inserting extremely accurate and durable load monitoring devices into high
quality bolts and studs. The accurate assembly and continuous monitoring capabilities reduce the potential for
premature wear, expensive downtime, and catastrophic joint failure. In addition, load-indicating fasteners are
compatible with conventional tightening and tensioning equipment and eliminate the need for costly ultrasonic,
strain gages, and torque measuring devices.
Now, even inexperienced operators can assemble complex bolted joints with uniform clamp loads within +/-5%
of design specification. Because measurements are based on tension, the inaccuracies of torque control are
elimenated, ensuring optimum initial conditions before an assembly is placed into service. Custom scales can
show desired operating ranges using a green zone or pinpoint precise clamp load values.
Our MaxboltTM Load Indicating Fasteners come in various shapes and sizes. They can be
manufactured from standard ANSI materials or exotic materials. Each load indicating fastener is
calibrated and tested to its proffload to assure that its performance will meet the designed tension requirements
of the application. In most cases, load-monitoring catridges can be retrofitted into customers’ bolts.
SafetyThe MaxboltTM Load Indicating System provides the ultimate safety and reliability in a bolted joint. They act as a
constant barometer of the integrity of the bolted joint and provide an added degree of protection for workers in
hazardous environments. The load-monitoring device is sealed to withstand harsh environments and
submersion, with models available to handle temperatures from -400F to more than 4000F.

Reading:l Maxbolt™ equipped fasteners display load with a
mechanical dial mounted directly into the fastener.
l Display 0 - 100% in 25% increments, as
percentage of total capacity. Default is equal to
100% of minimum yield load.
Install Location:l Maxbolts™, in standard configuration, may be
installed in the head of a bolt or on the end of a
stud, provided the nut has been secured in position
with a ‘thread stop’ feature.
l For installation into the thread-end of a bolt, or in a
stud where the use of a ‘thread stop’ is impractical
or impossible, a ‘no-standoff’ configuration can be
used.
l Maxbolt™ No-Standoff type indicators allow for a
nut postitioning range in place of the fixed position
requirement of the standard Maxbolt™.
This positioning range will be determined based
on the intended use of the fastener.
Valley Forge & Bolt Mfg. Co.
Product Specification Sheet
the MAXBOLT™ load indicating fastener
De-ration:l De-ration occurs as a result of the removal of
material required for Maxbolt™ installation.
l De-ration will be present for all stud or threadend
bolt installations.
l A standard bolt with an in-head Maxbolt™ rarely
is de-rated, but exceptions can occur. More
typically de-ration occurs on studs.
l Any Maxbolt™ fastener which has been de-rate
will be scaled accordingly, meaning that 100% on
the indicator will not exceed the de-rated
minimum yield load of that particular fastener
unless otherwise specified.
Temperature:
l Maxbolt™ equipped fasteners can withstand the
service temperatures between 32ºF (0°C) and
300°F (149°C).
l For temperatures outside this range, applications
may be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Protection from the elements:l All Maxbolt™ indicator assemblies are sealed to
prevent moisture/contamination from entering the
device.
l Prior to installation with Maxbolt™ equipped
fasteners, any special environmental
considerations should be evaluated.
l Special indicator enclosures are available for
extreme operating conditions, for example,
subsea applications.

The SPC4™ Load Indicating System allows users to install a bolted assembly with confidence.
The user is able to constantly monitor the clamp load of any SPC4™ bolted joint, whether static
or dynamic. By easily attaching a probe to the datum disc located on the end of the fastener, the
user is able to read the value on a hand held battery powered monitor.
The integrity of a bolted joint is jeopardized when fasteners lose their tension. bis loss of clamping
force begins during assembly due to elastic interactions and joint relaxation.
Self-loosening continues when the joint is put in service due to vibrations, shock, temperature
changes, embedment, etc.
The SPC4™ joint allows the end-user to re-tighten only the bolts or studs that have lost their clamp
load. this results in a tremendous saving of maintenance time, money and replacement parts. For
a minimal investment, the SPC4™ offers maximum joint integrity with optimum performance.
In addition, there are five different models of SPC4™ Readers to choose from with a variety of
different specifications and cabapilities. Including digital and mechanical displays and optional
data gathering and storage.
The SPC4™ may be manufactured to many of the ASTM, ISO, SAE, or any specific customer
standards with various types of head configurations
www.VFBOLTS.com
E-Mail : [email protected] 37
Reading:l SPC4™ equipped fasteners require the use of an
external load reader device to attach to the fastener and display load as a percentage of total
capacity, default is equal to 100% of minimum yield load.
l Two load reading meter styles available; a mechanical dial type displaying 0-100% in 5% increments and an electronic design displaying 0-100% in 1% increments.
Temperature:l The SPC4 ™ can withstand the same service temperatures as the base fastener material they
are manufactured from.
l Internal components are constructed to match the material of the base fastener.
l Load readings may be collected at temperatures up to and including 600°F.
l Load reader temperature may not exceed 150°F or permanent damage may result.
Install Location:l With the SPC4™ installation into the threadend
of a bolt, or in a stud where the use of a ‘thread
stop’ is impractical or impossible, a ‘no-standoff’ configuration must be used. SPC4™ No-Standoff type indicators allow for a nut positioning range in place of the fixed position requirement.
l SPC4™ in standard configuration may be installed in the head of a bolt or on the end of a stud
providing the nut has been secured in position with a ‘thread stop’ feature.
l Positioning range will be determined based on the intended use of the fastener.
Valley Forge & Bolt Mfg. Co.
Product Specification Sheet
the SPC4™ load indicating system
De-ration:l Occurs as a result of the removal of material
required for SPC4™ installation.l Will be present for all stud or thread-end bolt installations.l A standard bolt with in-head SPC4™ will generally
not incur de-ration, but exceptions can occur.l Any SPC4™ fastener which has been de-rated will
be scaled accordingly, meaning that 100% on the indicator will not exceed the de-rated
minimum yield load of that particular fastener unless otherwise specified.
Clearance Above Indicator:l To attach a mechanical load reader to SPC4™
bolt or stud, it is recommended that a minimum of 2 inches in diameter be kept free around the end of the fastener. This free space should extend 3 inches beyond the SPC4™ attachment point at the
end of the bolt or stud.l To attach an electronic load reader to SPC4™ bolt
or stud, it is recommended that a minimum of 1 3/4
inches in diameter be kept free around the end of the fastener. This free space should extend 2 1/2 inches beyond the SPC4™ attachment point at
the end of the bolt or stud.
Protection from the elements:l With all SPC4™ fasteners we offer threaded metal
caps or plastic caps, in sealing and non-sealing configurations depending on the application. Also, depending on the intended use and expected
service additional protection may be required.
l An SPC4™ indicator is a precision measurement device and should be treated with care. Any
damage sustained from mechanical impact corrosion or contamination from foreign matter can
render the device inoperable. Prior to installation with SPC4™ equipped fasteners, any risks to
indicator damage in the service environment should be assessed.
