Bismillahirrahmanirrahim!

Alhamdulillah, dengan Rahmat dan Inayah Ilahi kami berhasil melaksanakan Olimpiade Seni Lingkungan se-Banda Aceh, dengan dukungan dan restu Dinas Pendidikan Kota Banda Banda Aceh.

Lomba karya seni ini yang di laksanakan pertama kalinya pada tahun ini disertai oleh 23 proyek dari 4 sekolah se Banda Aceh, yaitu:

1. MTsN Model Banda Aceh2. SMA Labschool Unsyiah3. SMP Fatih4. SMA Fatih

Seluruh proyek yang dikirim, kami langsung menyertakan ke Babak Penyisihan GENIUS ART International High School Environmental Art Olympiad (www.geniusart.org) yang dilaksanakan oleh Oswego New York State University dan Terra Foundation, AS. Babak penyisihan yang dilaksanakan secara online, diikuti oleh lebih dari 600 proyek dari 46 negara. 172 proyek terpilih menjadi Finalis dan akan mengikuti Bapak Final pada tanggal 26 - 30 Juni 2011 di Oswego New York, AS.

Dari Indonesia 6 proyek berhasil masuk daftar finalis: · 2 proyek bidang ART (Peserta OSL) · 4 proyek SCIENCE (Peserta ISPO)

Kami mengucapkan selamat pada 2 finalis bidang ART di Genius Art International High School Competition, yaitu karya seni berjudul “Impacts of illegal logging”(satiric) oleh Muharrir Al Faraqi dan karya bernama “Live in a polluted life” (photo) by Ikramullah.

Kami mengucapkan terima kasih sebesar-besarnya pada seluruh peserta dan para pendukung lomba seni ini. Semoga lomba ini menjadi langkah penting dalam menjaga lingkungan.

GENIUS-Olympiad (Global Environmental Issues Project Olympiad) is the umbrella organization for the international science and art project competition among high school students focusing on global environmental issues. GENIUS is the platform to address the environmental issues from both artistic and scientific perspectives in one venue. Both GENIUS Olympiad (science competition) and GENIUS Art will be held together at SUNY Oswego in the same exhibition space between June 26 and 30, 2011.

GENIUS-Olympiad (Global Environmental Issues Project Olympiad) adalah organisasi payung untuk lomba internasional bidang sains dan seni tingkat SMP-SMA yang memfokuskan pada permasalahan lingkungan. GENIUS adalah platfom untuk menyampaikan masalah-masalah lingkungan baik secara artistik, maupun secara ilmiah. Kedua GENIUS Olympiad (pameran sains) dan GENIUS ART akan dilaksanakan pada waktu bersamaan di SUNY Oswego, New York, Amerika Serikat di ruang pameran yang sama pada tanggal 26-30 Juni 2011.

Bapak penyisihan yang dilaksanakan secara online diikuti oleh lebih dari 600 proyek dari 46 negara dan 37 negara bagian Amerika Serikat. Adapun 6 proyek dari Indonesia yang lolos menjadi Finalis GENIUS:

Target for doing this poster is that we wanted to inspire about conserving and preserving the Earth from global warming we could start by doing small steps, like planting trees around us, use of reducing air pollution, which will prevent atmosphere depletion which has occurred so far. In this poster I meant to invite and call for awareness that we have to enrich the life heritage on the face of globe, and that is all our manly duty as the Divine creation which is given to human kind more than other creatures to preserve all other His creations, which we appear it with short slogan “Preserving Biodiversity is All Joint Task” together where we draw the picture of Earth where we live, and that we are engaged to pass forward the heritage of its richness and purity.

There are three picture, the first picture is a plant with nice color. Meaning : the earth before global warming. The second picture is a plant with ugly color. Meaningful: the earth is broke now. The third picture is a question mark. Meaning: how about the plants in future ? Cause global warming, earth was warm with temperature 800C. So human body can cook without stove by wearing astronaut uniform. And beside the first picture, that was picture of earth from outer space in the future if nobody are kind to earth.

Protect our world/our Earth with not building factories on our Earth. Because it produce too much CO2 and other hazardous gases. If in this Earth there is too much CO2, the ozone stairs will be bigger and make the sunlight get through until the surface of Earth causing dysfunctions on living organisms. Increase of CO2 amount also causes global warming.

With this simple poster here which is designed using simple tools, we tried to draw attention to the importance of investing for environment at least little portion of what we invest on building huge structure chasing business interests neglecting the care for surrounding.

Deskripsi:We chose this picture to remind us all that the earth is beautiful, and maybe we won't see them all anymore remembering the impact of global warming that'll be at its peak soon. We've had a long time enjoying the natural resources that exist, and have taken away the rights of other creatures that live in their habitat like in this photo. In this place there are thousands of rare fauna such as Mee Keureunda bird (Buceros bicornis) or hornbills, Rimueng Buloh (Panthera tigris sumatrae), etc., which is only seen in places that aren't supposed to and don't fulfill their right to live freely in their habitat . Rare floras such as Durian (Durio sp.), carrion flower (Amorphopallus titanum), etc., can be found here also. It's very unfortunate if our children, grandchildren and our descendants can't see it anymore.Therefore, we must keep them as we keep something that we care and love. Don't let their rights taken for granted, because they are also living beings like us. What can we do if we're in their position than hoped. And we think, it's better to enjoy seeing them directly in

This picture is about a forest which I took in Indonesia right in Banda Aceh, in this picture we can see healthy forest with many kind of flora and fauna inside as we know forest has a lot of function because forest is an essential life on the earth,without it the energy of the sun would not be harnessed throught the process of photosynthesis because oxygen is produced by reaction of photosynthesis,and we can not live without oxygen because we use oxygen for breathing.Forest also can prevent disaster like air pollution,flood and land slide and the most important is forest can prevent global warming.so,keep forest and illegal logging.

Seulawah Mountains located in highland districts of Aceh regency is an inseparable part of nature in Aceh.Seulawah name also became the forerunner of the birth of Garuda Indonesia aircraft that were previously named Indonesian Airways. Mount Seulawah also have a pair,which are often cited people with Seulawah Agam and Seulawah Inoeng.Seulawah Mountains are also part of the Forest Tree Kingdom(Pocut Meurah intan),but it still has a wide diversity Seulawah in terms of flora,fauna and other forest potentials.Pocut meurah intan store various types of flora dominated by pine wood (Pinus mercusii)and Acacia (Acasia auriculiformis),an area of 250 hectares,and grasslands which covers 5,000 hectares or 20 percent of young forests.The spread of species of flora are almost evenly in all areas,from coastal forests,lowland forests to upland forest.While the types of fauna such as deer (Cervus unicolor),Tiger (Panthera Tigris sumatraensis),Pig (Sus Scrofa),Hedgehog (Hystrik brachyura),mouse deer,monkey long tail,Bird hornbills (Buceros Rhinocerous),scissors sri Bird,Bird sempala,Chicken forest,and monkey.In addition it also found a large mammal species including elephant (Elephas maximus) and other animals.The spread of fauna is almost evenly distributed throughout the region.

Our suggestion is, that Seulawah should forest we guard together,because Seulawah forests are the lungs of the earth,especially Aceh and still experience the flora and fauna are rare and various.That way for guard is: Creating a nature reserve and wildlife sanctuary Perform Reforestation or forest greening Helping to process Reforestation Urge the world so as not to damage the forest Seulawah Refraining from illegal hunting Protects to avoid felling trees and hunting wild

This picture was taken in one of Banda Aceh's ditrict.in this picture there's a cat walking around a polluted area. Major of people still don't realize about the environment. People litter rubbish around their own home. Imagine what will happen if flood exist, then it must affect their own.Furthermore if there's water on it, mosquitos could reproduce easily and cause diseases such as dengue. And if we take a closer look, the water condition is also polluted, which the color has changed, not even flowing. The cat on the picture also could be infected by diseases if it consumes things that have been polluted.Don't the people there feel uncomfortable with polluted life like that? they should care about the environment, also the government should look after it to help people about this issue. If the pollution still exists then it will affect to the next generation, so let's look after our environment starting from the smallest things

Deskripsi:

This is a drawing that exposes the consequences of irresponsible human action, conducted not considering the future impacts. In this drawing you may see a tree, which is still lucky not been cut. Meanwhile, others were not that lucky. Because of this human made act, even grasses on the ground started to dry out, due to they now have to face new circumstance which is not suitable for its biological growth. You also observe the bones of animals that have died or may have even been extinct. It is impossible not to notice the monkey, which is lonely after the trees cut down. In fact, forest is home for many animals. Destroying forests has impact on biological ecosystem overall. Overall, this project is highlighting an issue of illegal logging we are facing today. Among other impacts you can observe on the drawing are like color change of the clouds full of acid rains, as the result of industrial growth and lack of green ecosystem which would produce oxygen and clean up the air. Mountains are bold empty.

Deskripsi:

In my description, I would like to describe my illustration. As we see, I drew the illustration in comic form. It shows a short story, but has a lot of meanings.In the first segment, I would like to describe about the Earth as a lonely planet. This segment tells us that people are doing many bad things to the Earth. People doing bad things until some part of Earth were broken. The biting sign on the Earth's surface is to stress the broken part of Earth itself. Even though it was not real, indeed it is a reality.In the second segment, after zooming up to 10.000% to the Earth's surface, I would like to describe about an island. First, there are a lot of Buildings in the city. And because of that, people cut a lot of trees to build up the buildings, without care about environment until half of the mountain is empty. That's why I wrote on the mountain, “Suffering Mountain”, because the mountain fells suffer. And the other thing in this segment is about the wood factory. It spends a lot of polluted air to the sky, also that's really bad to the Earth.In the third segment, after zooming up to 200% to the mountain, we can see two trees were talking each other. And the background is a mountain with half cleared forest. One of them is standing on the cleared part of mountain, and another one are standing on the unclear forest. We can see that both of are very happy. The smaller tree asked the taller tree to play hide and seek. But in the next segment, someone from wood factory came and cut the taller tree while the smaller one was counting up, to find the other. Because, the taller tree was standing on the cleared part of the forest. That's why the man cut it, and it will continue until the mountain is totally clear. So, these segments tell us that, people took happiness from environment by destroying them.And in the last segment, I would like to ask the viewer. What will happen next? I though we have already know about that if we read the last paragraph. “Earth will totally destroy if people still don't care about it!”

Of course it can make our Earth broke and a lot of tree was burned and a lot of tree was cut down and everyday temperature of Earth increases, many animals life in the forest in danger. And a lot of fish in the sea was died because human threw a rubbish in the sea. How human preserve the Earth for the future.
