Conditional sentences

A conditional sentence consists of two clauses : the if-clause, and the main clause. The if-clause can come first or second. When it comes first, we usually put a comma between the two clauses. THE PATTERN

Conditional Type 2 = Present UnrealIF + Simple past, simple past futureOrIF + Subject + Verb 2, subject + would/might/could/should + V1Or If+S+were+O , S+would/might/could/should+v1Or S+would/might/could/should+v1 if+S+v2 THE FUNTION

1. To make a statement about something that is not real at present, but is possible:

I would visit her if I had time.

Fact : I dont have time so I dont visit her

2. suppose something that at variance with fact now.

if I were Superman, I would fly to meet her.

Fact : I am not a Superman, so i dont fly to meet her

3. suppose something that do not be expected by its occurence. If welivedin Rome, Francescowould visitus.

Fact : We dont live in Rome, so Francesco dont visit us.
