Marie Roker-Jones Specialties: With more than 15 years experience of providing health and education training and development services, Marie Roker-Jones – a NAMA Certified Anger Management Specialist and Intrinsic Coach® is on a mission to help the next generation of men and women to be compassionate leaders. Marie is the founder of Raising Great Men™ – real talk about raising boys to become men of character and helping young men to “mind up, not man up”. Marie is passionate about creating a generation of compassionate, responsible and respectful men. She is fulfilling this legacy by giving moms the tools they need to help their sons create a positive road map for their future. Marie is also co-founder of #CompassionConvos, partner of The Charter for Compassion. #CompassionConvos is a compassion movement challenging implicit bias. It’s a call to action bringing people together to create individual and systemic change. #CompassionConvos are cross-cultural and inter-generational conversations using social media, online and in person around difficult and challenging subjects. Conversations include but aren’t limited to racism, sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia. As a wife to a military veteran of multiple deployments, Marie speaks about the challenges of raising a military family. Marie understands the struggle of balancing personal, family and professional goals during a deployment, and also helps mothers guide sons during a father's absence. Marie also addresses how to help children adjust after deployment. Marie has taught career development, job skills and life skills training at Lehman College and City College in New York. She has worked with students and parents in public elementary, middle and high schools in New York City and has conducted workshops for the Restorative Justice Practices Conference at Lehman College, The Harlem Book Fair, The Westchester Children's Book Festival, Harlem Children's Zone Promise Academy, Monroe College, The New York City Charter School Center, ABENY Education Conference, and LinkEducation's K-12 Expo.
