BEAUTY, BRAINS, AND PERSONALITY18-7A

Three girlfriends meet for their monthly dinner party at which one traumatizes the other two by claiming, “Together we make up the perfect woman: you’re the brains, you’re the personality, and I’m the beauty.” Chaos ensues. Six months later the three are separated at a time when they need each other most. One is about to have a baby. One is making career and life

changes that include posing for nude photographs right after earning her PhD.

The other is struggling to be more than simply “the beauty”...and failing miserably. Ultimately, the three women define themselves and their friendships beyond beauty, brains, and personality. They are women, after all, and reserve the right to change their minds any time they feel like it.

THROUGH THE MIRROR18-11A A loose adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. It is also, more importantly, an exploration of the drug problem prevalent among the youth of today. The majority of the play is aly’s first, and last, drug trip; the play is essentially her drug induced hallucination personified by characters and scenes from Carroll’s novel; moments of confusion, illogic and irrationality are, therefore, intentional

and deliberate.

Aly came from a broken home. She herself didn’t get along with his mother. One day, Aly and her mother have a big fight due to her mother doesn’t allow her to go to a concert. Aly rebels and leaves home immediately. In the concert.Aly met with people who make fun of her and don’t appreciate her at all. She feels more stressed and so depressed and it comes to a death end where Aly is trapped into her halucination.

RASHOMON18-21A The action takes place in Kyoto, Japan, about a thousand years ago - at a corner of the Rashomon Gate, at a police court and in a nearby forest. Brooks Atkinson would write in his review of the show “Three odd characters, seeking shelter from the rain under the ruins of an old gate, try to discover the truth about a rape and a murder. The wife of a samurai has been raped in the forest by a bandit and the husband has been slain. While the three odd characters are discussing

what they have heard, four versions of the crime are acted in the adjoining forest. In every version, the essential facts are the same. But in all of them the characterizations differ.

PITCH PERFECT18-10A

The Barden Bellas are a collegiate, all-girls a cappella singing group thriving on female pop songs and their perfect looks. After a disastrous failing at last year’s finals, they are forced to regroup. Among the new recruits is freshman Beca, is that girl who’d rather listen to what’s coming out of her headphones than what’s coming out of you.

Arriving at her new college, she finds herself not right for any clique but somehow is muscled into one that she never would have picked on her own: alongside mean girls, sweet girls and weird girls whose only thing in common is how good they sound when they sing together. When Beca takes this acoustic singing group out of their world of traditional arrangements and perfect harmonies into all-new mash-ups, they fight to climb their way to the top of the cutthroat world of college a cappella and get back into the competition.
