AbstractApartment development in urban areas is often proposed as solution to meet the housing needs. However, buildingconstruction could contribute air pollutants that have a negative impact on health. This activity could generate TotalSuspended Particulate (TSP). This study aimed to quantify the composition of TSP (Si, Pb and Ca) arising frombuilding construction activities and comparing the measurement results with the air quality standard in Indonesia. The sampling method was undertaken according to SNI 19-7119.3-2005. Based on this research, the TSPconcentration in samples has exceeded the permissible limit (the highest concentration of TSP was 786, 13 μg/m3).The result of characterization of TSP indicates that the highest Si concentration was found at the point oftransportation path, while Pb and Ca. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. Abstract. Increasing the number of public hotspots using Wi-Fi technology is one of opportunity to gain advantage for proposing many new technologies. One of emerging technology is an estimation system to locate the object/person position using Wi-Fi. The object estimation position is the technology to estimate object position accuracy, using signal Received Signal Strength (RSS) from Wi-Fi Access Point. The RSS is an information about the strength of the signal indicates the distance between the access point device. Through the Indoor Positioning System (IPS), RSS value information from multiple access points are processed in order to provide position information. In this study, the IPS using Fuzzy K-Nearest Neighbour (FK-NN) classification method which is a combination of Fuzzy algorithm and K-NN to increase the accuracy of the object estimation position based on the learning data as reference point. Through hybridization from the algorithm is expected to calculate the position estimation more effectively and accurately and minimize errors in estimation. The results show that the algorithm FK-NN obtain the average location error of 2.4 meters with an accuracy percentage of 76%. Keywords: Indoor Positioning System, Fuzzy K-Nearest Neighbour

1. Introduction The Indoor Positioning System (IPS) utilize wireless technology to find objects in the building via RSS values from access point devices. Currently, several IPS applications have implement in the the hospital for navigation system, employee monitoring, guiding the blind, tracking small children and the elderly [1]. Existing technology such as the Global Positioning System (GPS) for navigation system by using signals from satellites. However, GPS is less effective when used in the indoor environment. The drawback because the weak signals received from the satellite by the GPS device is hard to penetrate the building structure[2]. Because of limitation, alternative solution using Indoor Positioning System (IPS) able to utilize Wi-Fi signal in each building. Wi-Fi signal sources can received from various wireless devices in the indoor environment

Abstract. Kampung Sruni is an urban settlement located in the Dieng plateau region, Wonosobo

Regency, Central Java. Along with population growth, new house buildings have been being

constructed. Unfortunately, these new houses are being built with a lack quality of planning: the

availability of green space, natural air circulation, natural lighting, and material. Improving the

conditions of houses with urban acupuncture pattern seems to be the most respectful way. Three

site locations are chosen—according to the different contexts of topography and surrounding

neighborhood. On these sites, houses are designed specifically to each site context. However,

these houses have same design logic. The tropicality is emphasized by arrangement of space

elements—wall, openings, and materials—to obtain fresh air circulation and natural lighting

penetration along the day. Another important idea is to put large enough space to generate

family’s economy: to be freely used for shop, workshop, gallery, even guest house.

1. Introduction

Wonosobo is a district located in the highland region of Dieng, Central Java. Being at an altitude

between 250 - 2,500 meters above average sea level makes the air temperature in this region tend to be

cool—with a range between 14.3 - 26.5 0C—and relatively high air humidity—which is 66 - 88%. The

area of Wonosobo Regency is surrounded by two active volcanoes, namely Mount Sindoro and Mount

Sumbing. These two active volcanoes provide geological conditions that are rich in minerals due to

volcanic processes [1]. This cool micro climate and fertile soil make agriculture as the main activity of

the community. Rice, tea, coffee, tobacco, and various other horticultural vegetables are the types of

plants cultivated by farmers. In addition to farming, people also specifically plant Dieng papaya known

as Carica papaya (Carica pubescens) for compotes [2]. This compotes become a typical Wonosobo

dish and a souvenir for tourists visiting this area.

In addition to agriculture, the Wonosobo society—both living in rural areas and in the city center—

is known as an art community. In one year, various festival activities are held. The festivals that have

been developed at this time firstly began with traditional ceremonies. Dreadlocks ceremony and

Abstract. Apartment development in urban areas is often proposed as solution to meet the

housing needs. However, building construction could contribute air pollutants that have a

negative impact on health. This activity could generate Total Suspended Particulate (TSP).

This study aimed to quantify the composition of TSP (Si, Pb and Ca) arising from building

construction activities and comparing the measurement results with the air quality standard in

Indonesia. The sampling method was undertaken according to SNI 19-7119.3-2005. Based on

this research, the TSP concentration in samples has exceeded the permissible limit (the highest

concentration of TSP was 786,13 µg/m3). The result of characterization of TSP indicates that

the highest Si concentration was found at the point of transportation path, while Pb and Ca.

1. Introduction

In recent years, there is a decrease in air quality caused by various human activities such as fuel

combustion, transportation, industrial processes and building construction activities [1,2,3]. The risks

posed by construction activity may come from two sources. First, external risk from the environmental

impact and second, internal risk is from the uncertainties in the project itself [4]. In addition, the

construction activities showed 3.8% of total particulate emission from open source in the US [5] which

inevitably contribute to air pollution. Many studies have suggested that Total Suspended Particulate

(TSP) is one of the hazardous components that worsens air quality [6,7]. Negative impact of TSP on

human health, especially PM2.5 (particulate with a diameter less than 2.5 μm) which it is easily enter

the lungs and cause serious health problems, such as respiratory disorders and lung diseases [8,9].

PM2.5 proved to be more diffuse compared to coarse dust (particulate diameter 2.5-10 μm), affecting

workers around the work area and anyone exposed by it [10,11]. Worldwide, it is estimated that air

pollution caused by PM2.5 in the atmosphere is responsible for about 0.8 million premature infant

deaths and 6.4 million human deaths annually [12].

On the other hand, TSP is a very complex pollutant because it consists of various elements. This

research characterizes the elements Si, Pb, and Ca because these three elements are often contained in

TSP and harmful to human health [13]. According to some sources, silica exposure poses a serious

threat to nearly 2 million US workers, including more than 100,000 workers in high-risk jobs such as

Abstract. There are many previous studies on accessibility, but few studies consider

accessibility comprehensively in areas where is difficult to access to the rail-based

public transportation in suburban Indonesia. This paper focuses accessibility in three

points; automobility, public transportation, walkability. The study reveal the

inconvenience of public transportation reluctantly makes people choose other

transportations such as private cars / motorcycles and informal transportation. Angkot

which is used as a road-based public transportation, has relatively less merit, so that

more people choose private cars / motorcycles and informal transportation. This leads

to increase traffic volume, decrease road width due to illegal road occupation, and

cause traffic congestion and accidents. In order to cut off these vicious circles, it is

most important to develop public transportation measures. It is necessary to think how

people motive to choose public transportation than other transportation.

1. Introduction – What is accessibility?

Terminological meaning of “accessibility” in dictionary is the quality of being able to be reached or

entered. The meaning of “Access” and “Accessibility” is difference in terms of urban design.

“Access” means whether the public has access to the space, on the other hand ‘accessibility’ is the

capacity to enter and use a space. However, not all public space is opened for anybody freely access,

but also some place should be controlled exclusively for security reason.

Other meaning of Accessibility in dictionary is the design of products, devices, services, or

environments for people who experience disabilities. Disability is gaining influential advocates

because the baby boom generation begins to experience difficulties with mobility and require the

created the thinking of “streets for life” [1]. In this context, “accessibility” means streets that enable

older people to reach, enter, use and walk around places they need or wish to visit, regardless of any

physical, sensory or mental impairment.

In the field of urban design, traditional studies focused on transportation accessibility to reaching

other urban services and areas of activities. In 1950s and 1960s, many city experienced population

increase and urban sprawl. Suburban population commuting to work in the city created problem of

access and congestion. The schemes to improve accessibility from suburban to city centers were need

Abstract. The increasing trend of Internet of Things brings new challenges to efficiently

manage the resource in the access network. As a prominent solution to serve IoT services, LTE

incorporates a small data transmission scheme for this reason. In this scheme, the overall

system performance is greatly influenced by its random access procedure. Hence, studying the

behavior of backoff during random access procedure is important. This work implements an

iterative contending-user estimation model to analyze the performance of the contention-based

random access procedure supporting finite-population. For the sake of generality, the system is

modeled as a multichannel slotted Aloha. This allows our model to be used in wider

specifications, including LTE and WiMAX systems. The behavior and performance of the

system supporting multiple load scenarios is studied under different network loads. The

simulation result demonstrates the accuracy of our proposed method to predict the normalized

throughput, the packet-dropping probability, and the average access delay of each access-class.

The performance of different backoff algorithm to resolve the collision in the system is

compared and evaluated.

1. Introduction

Cellular networks have been used to provide city-wide coverage for broadband services. In recent

decade, the demand for data communication is nowadays increasingly high. Since the adoption of

connectionless communication for data services, the method to handle non-voice communication over

cellular network has been improving. Expanding from its main purpose to serve human-to-human

communication, nowadays the widely-deployed cellular network is also a potential solution to serve

machine-to-machine (M2M) or Internet of Things (IoT) services. The fact that cellular services are

ready in most of the cities and villages has become main motivation to utilize it for serving IoT

devices. In fact, in many places, this readiness is far surpassing the readiness of other wireless

technologies such as ZigBee, and LoRa. Although these competing technologies are designed from the

beginning to mainly serve data communication and IoT, deploying them widely (i.e. to really rivals

cellular network) needs many efforts and investments. On top of that, cellular has strong history for

being pretty stable business. Meanwhile ZigBee and LoRa are new technologies which possess risk to

start the business with, must overcome public scepticisms, needs more advertisements to endorse

adoption, etc.
