    The various definition of competency shows thata competency is a blend of knowledge, skills and

    attitude needed to perform effectively as amedical doctor Competency statement also implies that this

    performance is carried out under a practicecontext or in another word contextualised.

    Competency emphasiezes on what will beachived at the end of medical educationprogram, and not just about the acquisition ofknowledge or cogntive domain .
