Tafsir Ibn Kathir

We should state that there is no doubtthat they altered, distorted, added toand deleted from them. For instance,

the Arabic versions of these bookscontain tremendous error, manyadditions and deletions andenormous misinterpretation. Thosewho rendered these translations

have incorrect comprehension inmost, rather, all of these translations.

Surat al-Maidah, 5:43-45



Sahih al-Bukhari Vol. 8, No. 809Narrated Ibn 'Umar: A Jew and a Jewess were brought to

Allah's Apostle on a charge of committing an illegalsexual intercourse. The Prophet asked them. "What isthe legal punishment (for this sin) in your Book(Torah)?" They replied, "Our priests have innovatedthe punishment of blackening the faces with charcoal

and Tajbiya." 'Abdullah bin Salam said, "O Allah'sApostle, tell them to bring the Torah." The Torah wasbrought, and then one of the Jews put his hand overthe Divine Verse of the Rajam (stoning to death) andstarted reading what preceded and what followed it.On that, Ibn Salam said to the Jew, "Lift up your hand."

Behold! The Divine Verse of the Rajam was under hishand. So Allah's Apostle ordered that the two (sinners)be stoned to death, and so they were stoned. Ibn'Umar added: So both of them were stoned at theBalat and I saw the Jew sheltering the Jewess.



Sunan Abu Dawud Vol. 33, No. 4434

Narrated Abdullah Ibn Umar: A group of Jews came and invited the Apostle of Allah to Quff. So he visited them intheir school. They said: Abul Qasim,one of our men has committed

fornication with a woman; sopronounce judgment upon them.They placed a cushion for the Apostleof Allah who sat on it and said: Bringthe Torah. It was then brought. He

then withdrew the cushion frombeneath him and placed the Torah onit saying: I believed in thee and inHim Who revealed thee.

Tafsir al-Jalalayn and Tafsir Ibn Abbas

Al-Jalalayn: And strike for them as asimilitude the inhabitants of the town,of Antioch when the messengers,namely, Jesus disciples, came to it.

Ibn Abbas: (Coin for them a similitude)explain to the people of Mecca: Thepeople of the city of Antioch, how Wedestroyed them when those sent from

Allah came unto them i.e. when theemissary of Jesus, Simon the Pure,came to them and they disbelieved inand denied him.



Surat al-Imran, 3:52-55



Tafsir al-QurtubiIt was said that this verse was revealed about the apostles of

Jesus, may peace and blessing be upon him. Ibn Ishaq statedthat of the apostles and disciples that Jesus sent to preachthere were Peter and Paul who went to Rome; Andrew andMatthew who went to the land of the cannibals; Thomaswho went to Babel in the eastern lands; Philip who went to

Africa; John went to Dac-sos which is the tribe to whom thesleepers of the cave belonged; Jacob went to Jerusalem;Bartholomew went to the lands of Arabia, specifically Al-Hijaz; Simon who went to the Barbarians; Judas and Barthaswho went to Alexandria and its surrounding regions.

Allah supported them (the apostles) with evidence so that they

prevailed meaning they became the party with the upperhand. Just as it is said, An object appeared on the wallmeaning it is clearly visible on the wall. Allah, who is glorifiedand exalted, knows the truth better and to Him is the returnand retreat.



Matthew 10:1-4

And he called to him his twelve disciples andgave them authority over unclean spirits,to cast them out, and to heal everydisease and every affliction. The names of the twelve apostles are these: first,Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrewhis brother; James the son of Zebedee,and John his brother; Philip and

Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew thetax collector; James the son of Alphaeus,and Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot, andJudas Iscariot, who betrayed him.



The Eyewitness of the

Apostles Peter and John2 Peter 1:16For we did not follow cleverly devised myths

when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of hismajesty.

1 John 1:1-4That which was from the beginning, which we

have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which welooked upon and have touched with our hands,concerning the word of lifethe life was made manifest,and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to youthe eternal life, which was with the Father and was mademanifest to usthat which we have seen and heard we

proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowshipwith us; and indeed jour fellowship is with the Father andwith his Son Jesus Christ. And we are writing these thingsso that our joy may be complete.



We have a dilemma.....



On the Death of Christ

Isaiah 53:4-6Surely he has borne ourgriefs and carried our sorrows; yet weesteemed him stricken, smitten byGod, and afflicted. But he was piercedfor our transgressions; he was crushedfor our iniquities; upon him was thechastisement that brought us peace,and with his wounds we are healed. Allwe like sheep have gone astray; wehave turnedevery oneto his own

way; and the Lord has laid on him theiniquity of us all.

Mark 10:45For even the Son of Mancame not to be served but to serve,and to give his life as a ransom formany.



Surat an-Nisa, 4:156-158



On the Son of God

Luke 1:31-32And behold, you willconceive in your womb and bear ason, and you shall call his nameJesus. He will be great and will be

called the Son of the Most High.Matthew 16:15-17He said to them,

But who do you say that I am?Simon Peter replied, You are theChrist, the Son of the living God.And Jesus answered him, Blessedare you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For fleshand blood has not revealed this toyou, but my Father who is in heaven.



Surat at-Tawbah, 9:29-30



The Differences

According to the Bible:

1. Jesus came to die as an atonementfor the sins of those who will puttheir faith in Him

2. Jesus is the divine Son of God, andyou are blessed if you believe in this.

According to the Quran:

1. Jesus did not die on the cross to

make atonement for anyone; Allahonly made it appear to be so.

2. Jesus is not the Son of God, andanyone who believes that He will becursed by Allah.



The Important Question:

How could the Quran be confirming

the authority of a book to which it isso diametrically opposed to in its

teachings?



The Dilemma

If the Bible is false, the Quran is

wrong in ascribing inspiration and

authority to it.

But if the Bible is true, the Quran is

wrong in opposing the clear

teachings of the Bible.



Acts 4:11-12

This Jesus is the stone that was rejected

by you, the builders, which has

become the cornerstone. And there is

salvation bin no one else, for there is

no other name under heaven given

among men by which we must be

saved.



Think about it...

...your eternal salvation

depends on it.
