Hi Alberto,

How are you? I’m really good. I’ve just came from my holidays on the island of Java, Indonesia.

I went there last month with my cousin, Mario you know. We stayed there for 2 weeks of total relax. The hotel was very luxurious and it of ouy was near the beach so we spent most of our time on the beach. We went by plane but we had to do some changes: Madrid, Moscu, and finally Jakarta in Java island. The flights were too long and tiring.

Indonesian people are very hospitable so we didn’t have any problem with them. The weather was extremely sunny and it was very hot so we are very dark-skinned now.

We practiced scuba diving, we surfed, we rode quads on the beaches.

You should watch our photos of the blue sea, of the reef and of the great beaches.

I recommend you to go, you would enjoy your trip.

Once upon a time, there was a fisherman whose name Batara Guru Sahala lived in Batak land. One day he caught a fish. He was surprised to find that the fish could talk like uman being. It begged Sahala to let her free. He did accordingly.

As soon as the fish was free, it changed into a woman. She was so beautiful that Sahala fell in love with her at once. He asked her to marry him. The woman agreed to marry Sahala. However, she told him thathe must never let out the secret that she was once a fish. Sahala promised her that he could not tell anyone about it.

They married happily, and had two daughters. Every morning Sahala went out fishing. His daughter would bring him his lunch. One day, however, instead of bringing the food to their father, the two girls ate it.

When Sahala knew what they had done with meal, he got angry. He shouted at them saying, “you behave exactly like the daughters of fish!”

Last week, I went to Yogyakarta with my family. My father drove the car. My mother sat beside him. My sister and I sat in the back seats.

We woke up early in the morning. My father prepared the car in the garage while mother was preparing food for breakfast and some snacks for us. My sister and I packed some clothes. After everything got ready and we had our breakfast, we left the house at six o'clock.

It was about nine a.m. We arrived at Yogyakarta. First of all we visited our uncle. We stayed there for an hour. Then we went to Parangtritis beach. We got there at eleven o'clock. There were a lot of tourists because it was holiday. I saw many foreign visitors too. My parents watched us playing with sand in the beach. We did not swim and take a bath since the wave was rough. After having lunch, we went on our picnic to the museum and Malioboro shopping centre.

We drove back to Semarang at 7 o'clock and arrived home at ten. We were tired but happy.

Durian

Durian is classified as Duriozibethinus. It is native to Southeast Asia. Durian is known as ‘king of fruits’. It is not only the most expensive fruit but also the most controversial fruit. It is the only fruit which is banned from airlines cabins, hotels, and some public transports.

The durian tree is very large and tall. It can grow up to 25-50 meters and it has green elliptical leaves. It usually can bear fruit after four or five years. The durian fruit which can hang from any branches, matures in about three months after pollination. The fruit can grow up to 30 centimeters long and 15 centimeters in diameter. The husk is covered with sharp thorns. The color of the husk ranges from green to brown. The flesh is pale yellow. It is very soft but not juicy. When it is ripe, it tastes sweet and smells very strong.

Durian contains a lot of sugar, vitamin C, and pottasium. Durian is also good source of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Durian is usually eaten fresh. Sometimes it is also cooked to make dodol or jam.

Durian used to be grown from seeds but now it is propagated by grafting.

Let’s make butterfly garden

I spent a week in New York and then flew to London and enjoyed several weeks in Europe. When I had seen the sights in Europe, I took a train to Istanbul and visited many places in Asia.
