• Terjadi pada batuan sedimen/batuan beku, terutama yang berasosiasi dengan batuan
intrusif dekat permukaan/ekstrusif, biasanya disertai oleh sesar turun dan kekar.
• Zona bijih berupa urat yang simpel, beberapa tidak beraturan dengan pembentukan
kantong-kantong bijih, seringkali terdapat pada pipa dan stockwork. Jarang terbentuk
sepanjang permukaan lapisan, dan sedikit kenampakan replacement (penggantian).
• Logam mulia terdiri dari Pb, Zn, Au, Ag, Hg, dll

• Mineral bijih berupa Native Au, Ag, Cu, Pirit
• Mineral penyerta adalah kuarsa, chert, kalsedon, ametis, dll
• Ubahan batuan samping terdiri dari chertification (silisifikasi), kaolinisasi,
piritisasi, dolomitisasi
•Tekstur dan struktur yang terbentuk adalah Crustification (banding) yang sangat
umum, sering sebagai fine banding, vugs, urat terbreksikan.
•Jenis air berupa air meteorik dengan sedikit air magmatik
• Endapan epitermal mengandung mineral bijih epigenetic yang pada umumnya
memiliki batuan induk berupa batuan vulkanik.
•Kandungan sulfida pada urat relatif sedikit (<1 s/d 20%).
