PEMBERIAN IRIGASI HANGAT UNTUK MENCEGAH HIPOTERMIA

POST TURP

Abstrak :

Objective: We studied the effect of heated irrigation durante operation to prevent hypothermia after post

Trans Urethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP). Materials and methods: This study used a quasi

experimental, one group pre and post-test non-randomized design. The independent variable was heated

irrigation using saline at 37 C, and the dependent variable was hypothermia measured by body

temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration. The group consisted of 20 patients at Dr. Soetomo

Hospital, Surabaya. Data were analyzed using paired T test, with significance level p < 0.05. Results:

Mean temperature in treatment group was 0.339 before operation and 0.113 after operation (p=0.000). In

control group, the respective values were 0.117 and 0.653 (p=0.000). Mean blood pressure in treatment

group was 7.245 before operation and 6.992 after operation (p=0.004). These values in control group were

respectively 7.745 and 0.181 (p=0.000). Mean pulse in treatment group was 9.297 before operation and

9.363 after operation (p=0.185). In control group the values were 6.145 and 6.569 (p=0.010). Mean

respiratory rate in treatment group was 2.233 before operation and 1.251after operation (p=0.024). The

respective values in control group were 1.766 and 0.674 (p=0.002). Conclusion: Heated irrigation can

prevent hypothermia in patients during Trans Urethral Resection of the Prostate (TUR P).
